Eastimated time was 20-25 minutes but this would have arrived too early for my lunch break so i requested for a 1pm delivery. The delivery arrived at 1.30pm which is the end on my break.
To top this off, the products leaked and contaminated the rest
This is a very nice pub but called in for drinks at 3pm on a Saturday. Struggled to find a table as minority occupied or mostly reserved but empty . Two hours later the majority of the reserved tables were still unoccupied . Poor management in my view.
Just come home from having a coffee at this venue for the first time. Nice coffee, lovely views and as it has been a nice day we sat outside. We wouldn't want to sit inside as the cafe itself is not very welcoming and quite soulless which is a shame as a lot could be done to make it a more pleasant place to sit. We doubt that we'll be going back.
Had an absolutely amazing Sunday dinner here — cooked to perfection! The food was delicious, everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. The service was brilliant too, really friendly and welcoming. We made a late request to come in and they still made sure we were looked after, which we really appreciated. Big thanks to the whole team — we'll definitely be back! Thanks
Recently painted there walls however did not put a wet paint sign anywhere and my designer bag was leant to it and now stained with black paint, very unprofessional from a company like this with 0 notice.
We had one gluten free and one dairy free in our group, and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of options for those with dietary requirements.
The servers were lovely. They were friendly, professional and helpful and, despite a full pub, very efficient.
The food was fantastic. I had steak and chips, followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. It was delicious.
It’s not our first visit to the The Plough on the Hill, and it won’t be our last. Good food and good service.
Worse Indian takeaway I ever had, blend food with no taste, butter chicken tasted like sweet tomatoes and coconut curry, NO seasoning for the food at all. Never buying again
Negatives:
A very long queue for food, one person slicing the meat is not enough when busy.
The pork crackling was rock hard and inedible.
Positives:
Friendly staff and tasty food.
I wish you had a savoy cabbage/green cabbage, not sweetcorn!
I always order/delivery from hear my go to chicken shop was Tennessee however after a few incidents I now come to chicken cottage hands down the best now
Wonderful evening great atmosphere lovely food and service. Would definitely go again. Clean and great decor. Went in the evening , so couldn't see the sea views obviously but I bet it's lovely views in the daytime
We decided to get a takeaway during the second lockdown. We were feeling a little deflated by the usual dominos and McDonalds so decided to be daring and go elsewhere.
We found this little gem which I had never heard of before. The menu looked great so I ordered a blue cheese burger meal and my husband ordered the chicken burger meal.
Ordering was easy and the food arrived when it stated it would. I have to say it’s probably the best burger and chips I have ever had in my life. It was really fresh and had been cooked so well. My only gripe was that it was very expensive, especially for takeaway. But definitely worth a try!
