Had an absolutely amazing Sunday dinner here — cooked to perfection! The food was delicious, everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. The service was brilliant too, really friendly and welcoming. We made a late request to come in and they still made sure we were looked after, which we really appreciated. Big thanks to the whole team — we'll definitely be back! Thanks

We stayed as a couple with a dog and found the accommodation to be of a really good standard; comfortable and with lots of little extras such as pleasant coffee, biscuits, bottled water and ample bathroom cosmetics. The bathroom towels were bath sheet size - great as there’s nothing worse than tiny towels after a nice powerful shower. Only criticism was the loo roll was very thin and naff but the general quality of the room and with breakfast thrown in proved to be excellent value over the Easter weekend. Would return if in the area.

Just had the most incredible experience under the new ownership. The service was incredible, arriving on a busy ‘good Friday’ without a booking and we were still accommodated and welcomed. Dom was the guy that served us the most and he was so attentive to us, our 2 boys and our dog. The food was incredible, the goats cheese starter is insane and despite it seeming busy in the pub our food was prompt and fresh. We love that this is our local and will be visiting lots more. Well done to the whole team. A must visit.

We attended as a family of four for Sunday Lunch. The new improved White Hart was aesthetically improved 100%. The staff were attentive and the food was lovely. We all opted for Beef & Chicken. We felt the food was a good portion and the Yorkshire puds very good. The manager was watching the staff serving and engaged with guests in a very pleasant way with enough empathise on the experience for the guests. Thumbs up from us we loved the food and ambience and service.

Heard that there were new owners so thought we would give it a try. Greeted well and shown to a table but after giving our order for a light lunch then waited nearly 40 minutes for it to be served. over £30 for 2 lunches and 2 drinks. VERY EXPENSIVE for what we had. They will have to improve on the service and the very limited menu if they want repeat business. Would not want to go there again I'm afraid

I am going to start this review with stating that back in May 2024, we had a very poor experience with the food where a burger was bland over cooked and expensive and would've resulted in a 0 star review - it was inedible! Since then, the White Hart has undergone new ownership and whilst we were hesitant to return based on our previous experience back in May, we took a chance and glad we did. I had the Chicken, which was cooked very nicely, it came with mashed potatoes and broccoli and a gravy sauce. The price was very reasonable too. It was nice to see the pub a busier than I had seen it previously too. The review given is 4 stars, I would've possibly given 5 stars but it loses a star due because I feel more vegetables could've been served. Very pleased with the improvement - keep it going please

We stayed for two nights, when we arrived we had lunch and my whitebait was good but my partners choice was mediocre. In the evening others joined our group and all of us were disappointed with the food. The next night 5 of us wanted a meal but there was none available other than chips as they said there was a problem in the kitchen. The bar lady then announced last orders at 9pm even though we were residents. The 5 of us had travelled a long distance to a funeral and wanted to catch up for a bit longer but had to leave earlier than we wanted. Be warned, if you are on the ground floor the view out of the patio door is a wall about 2 feet away. I will however say that the bar staff were really friendly and good.

We wanted a overnight stop in a country pub and Wow the White Hart delivered that in big bundles. A very warm welcome and we were due to have a room upstairs, but the staff (young lady) member noticed that I was struggling to walk (having just got out of the car after two hours) so upgraded us to a down stairs room in their new building behind the pub. Which was really good of them and helped us a lot. The room was excellent. The pub seems like the heart of the local area with really friendly locals of all ages. The landlord/manager Jack was so attentive and so helpful. A great atmosphere in the pub with people enjoying themselves young and older! The food was excellent, dinner, steak was cooked to perfection for our choices and chips were fantastic. Breakfast was also prefect. If you need to stop in the area, this has to be the first choice for overnight or longer. Parking is onsite but remember to log your registration number at the bar.

Not in any way as good as it was. The whole place is filthy. Sticky tables, spider webs around the windows, stained fabric on chairs and dusty cushions. The food wasn't a patch on how it was. My roast beef was thick dark brown and tough, the vegetables were ok but not seasoned, the potatoes were an abomination. Obviously frozen and re-heated with no hint of ever being roasted, just cooked enough and reheated which gave them the texture of mush, tasteless mush. The yorkshire pudding was overcooked and dusty. It was a very poor standard of roast dinner compared to before. The place was empty which should have rang alarms bells as it was always packed. It is such a shame as this place was always consistant.

First of all we are locals and have been going to this pub for many years. We booked earlier today and was told by staff we hadn't booked. The bar staff who were friendly, were too busy talking to friends and seemed disinterested in people waiting for food. They did not have a children's menu and were not even sure of what specials they had. 3 tables was all that were waiting. We waited 1 hour and 10 mins for food. The positive is the foods was lovely but by the time we got the food then the trip was already ruined. When we gave the feedback the excuse was 'we chased the chef 4 times' no apology or communication on what was going on and what was happening. If I'm honest that is a poor excuse and lack of management. Won't be going again if they can't improve the customer service or wait time, hate to be there if it was busy. Thank you but no thank you.

Well where to even being. Arrived and noticed the parking signs that were not very clear, like others had stated no machine to pay for parking, entered and spoke to staff members asked if I had to pay for parking and was told no, thought no more of it. Sat and had the lunch, could barely even eat it, it was that salty. A pub that had high expectations left me with a salty taste in my mouth quite literally to the point I couldn’t even finish the meal. Fast foreward a week and I come home to a letter of guess what a parking fine, so call the white hart explained what had happened and they advised they got the charge cancelled. Fast foreward another two weeks where the company sent me another letter chasing me for the parking fine increasing it to £100, had to appeal with them to get this cancelled, which luckily I did. Absolutely shocked is an understatement at the service from the white hart. The meal quite frankly was disgusting and the fact it ended up in nearly a parking fine was just absurd. After reading response to others where they have replied asking to contact them and they will get it cancelled I wouldn’t even believe and if you do make sure you get it in writing. Will absolutely not be returning.

my wife and I popped in last Saturday lunchtime and picked this pub as they are dog friendly, which is great. Location is good and generally outside and in the decor is fine, but it's like the last time an overhaul was done was early 2000's (guessing) close examination we could see grime on walls. we both had two rounds of drinks and gammon/egg/chips, which was pleasant enough. my wife had a small bottle of prosecco and i had to ask for a glass, then was offered a pint glass by the young guy behind the bar, which was funny. i showed him him what a flute glass was !!. Outside of this the staff were fine enough and helpful. I didn't question the bill but noticed on the menu that the meal price was high, but did not expect a lunchtime bill of £72.00, ouch. So what i would say is please train staff, or dont have them serve the public. Deep clean the bar area or re-decorate. Review the prices as they are prohibitively high. Thanks

A little disappointed...needs a bit of a shake up. Didn't really feel like I was a resident, I could have been a drifter just passing through. Room was pleasant but cold in the mornings as there was no heating on and the controls on the radiator were broken. Outside temperature in the mornings was between 3 to 5c so not exactly summer temperature's. Being an early riser I don't expect to have a cold bedroom on waking. The quilt on bed was paper thin and after checking if there were other blankets in the room I ended up putting my quilted waist coat on-top to keep me warm overnight. The bathroom is tired and needs a refit, the toilet seat was loose and I mean loose...you could see where they had glued it to try and secure it but that had failed. Breakfast was good and staff were on point. On the Sunday I enquired about the evening meal situation and was told the kitchen closes at 5.30pm but should be ok if I get down before 6.00pm... as I'm a resident I should be fine. I got down before 5.30pm to be told the kitchen was closed and to look elsewhere...nice touch. So I made a few calls and found another restaurant in Wroughton and drove there to have my food...not really what I call service. I stop in a lot of places and some are good and some are average and seem to miss the point and this is one of those. Service is king. I could go on but I wont...its one I will be giving a miss to when I'm next in the area.

Lovely pub with high quality accommodation. However there were a large number of cobwebs decorating the ceiling of our room. Further, the hot tap in the sink dripped all the time we were there. It did not bother us save that it was a terrible waste of hot water. We did mention it to the lady behind the bar who said that she would report it to her supervisor. I have only given a three for location as there really is nothing to do in Wroughton itself. We were meeting friends for lunch and it was a good halfway point for all of us. We stayed so that we did not need to worry about having a few drinks with our meal.

Stayed in room 10 not the room we booked 😒 Could hear every word and sound from adjoining rooms. The same couple of downers which could be fixed with a bit of attention but management has ignored: Lampshade literally falling apart. Toilet very difficult to flush. Stained carpet, Blood splat and chips in plaster above the radiator! Breakfast : Mushrooms were dead and past cooking and the bread was rock hard. Our bill was wrong and we were overcharged but it was corrected after I mentioned it. Maybe there has been another change in management? We've been staying at the White Hart since 2021 for it's proximity to family, but we will be going elsewhere in future.

We was really enjoying it and everyone was very accommodating. The reason I did 3 stars was because at 12.30am that night when we was both sleeping we had somebody trying to get into our room. This happened 3 times in total in the early hours. We was both so so scared that none of us went back to sleep again. We have never had an experience like that and we were both very scared. We had a shower and checked out as we was too shaken up to do anything else. Although we didn’t have our free breakfast because we just wanted to leave as soon as possible. This is an experience we will never forget.

Appalling service, extortionate prices and tiny portions of average food. Would never return here , we eat lots of Sunday lunches around the country. This by far ranks in the top two worst for experience and value for money. It is not inviting , starting with registering your car with you having confirm your car on a photograph otherwise you will get a fine. Gives you the feeling straight off this is not going to be a good experience. We were shown to our table and ordered our food, if felt like it was an irritant that we had turned up and broke up the serving staff from their conversations. The place was empty 1pm , so we should of guessed the locals knew better . The roasts we ordered were on the pricey side but we hoped with an empty pub , we would get decent food. Sadly the amount on the plate was very poor and overdone. The chicken was on the bone with no breast at all. Roast potatoes tiny and like bullets. The cabbage was underdone and bitter. We felt cheated and decided to skip desert as the feeling on our table would be miniscule serving , style over substance. During the whole meal no one came to check us or ask if we wanted any more drinks or desert. They just stood by the bar chatting to their mates. We waited and waited and in the end went to the bar to pay our bill. It was not until I had scanned my card I realised they had added a service charge to the bill. What a joke their staff did nothing to say there was any type of service. Avoid this place.

Stayed for two nights as I was in the area for a family funeral. Worth checking closing time of pub as I wasn't aware it shut early the days I was there.

£3.50 for a “country ham” sandwhich which was one slice of actually quite thin ham and two handfuls off lettuce in the wrong bread. They even asked twice which bread I wanted. Brown, not white. I was the only person in there and still had to wait to be served and they got it wrong!

Lovely country pub. Staff are amazing and very welcoming. Arrived in mid afternoon. Lots of parking and plenty of outside seating with dogs welcome. Inside the pub is very comfortable and welcoming with beams on the ceiling. A large feature fire place. One of those places you could settle in easily. We ordered food. My friend ordered a ploughman's and I had the gammon and chips. This came very quickly and was so appetising I'd forgotten to take a picture before tucking in. It was cooked to perfection! I'd definitely go again if in the area. A lovely quiet beer garden with birds tweeting and the odd sound of horses trotting past on the road... Idyllic. Really recommended.
