Great pub love Tracy she is a wonderful landlady who really makes an effort with her customers. Beautiful sun trap garden and good drinks deal on a Thursday.

Fabulous pub with a great atmosphere. Great selection of beers and ciders, wines and spirits. Staff are very friendly and ever so helpful. The live music nights, karaoke and quiz nights bring enjoyment to so many. Highly recommend a visit, you'll want to return.

Absolutely brilliant pub, this week Tracy supported our family by opening the pub for a wake. She was so accommodating, couldn't do enough for us, kept in contact with me for the arrangements to ensure everything went just as we wanted. I cannot thank them enough, the hospitality was brilliant, Its just a fantastic location for this type of event. Highly Recommended !!

Despite a negative review this pub is my cheers bar. Both Tracy and Lucy have made this pub a place that a lone female can come and have a drink. Both these ladies run a pub the way it should be and make all welcome. They also host a fab quiz night!

Pub itself is alright however the landlady Tracey is a scam artist buying cheap stock from Tesco and bookers however still charging arkell rates for it ! so wrong and also against all the rules and contracts in place . Also has no control over the punters will allow people to be highly intoxicated or under the influence of other substances and do nothing about it . Awful service from Tracey the other staff could not fault the glass collect Izzy she’s fantastic and Lucy the manager who did everything .

we all had an amazing night and it was because of the stuff and the live music and also the atmosphere that made it an amazing place to start all night and after we went to a restaurant we came back and finished all night there to. The staff for and family run pub and they were professional and friendly and and made it a wonderful night to. It is a cool place to be in old Swindon town and I would recommend this to anyone who who wants to drink and party.

Fantastic place brought my girl friend from London to there last Saturday night they had a rock and roll band playing brilliant music atmosphere was perfect staff where very help and nice people in the pub best night we have had in years

Turned up on a Tuesday evening as part of a work leaving do (5 of us to stay within covid restrictions). Were fortunate to get the last available table as the rest were all booked for the weekly quiz! We decided to stay & join in. What a fab night! Bar team super welcoming, landlady amazing & good deals on cocktails all night! Thank you for helping send our colleague off in style on his last day! From the noisy table who bought so many packets of crisps!

Got kicked out at 7.15 as our kids were being too loud upsetting the older customers! Our children were sat doing nothing. Disgusted.

Popped in here tonight on my own to get out of my B&B after passing it earlier in the day. This is a super little bar with a good range of Arkells (and other) beers and ciders. Bigger than it first appears and with 3 TVs showing 2 different footie matches, but not so loud you can’t hear the jukebox. Wednesday night is also free cheese board night which was a nice welcome touch. Stayed longer than if planned and would come again to watch a game and enjoy a decent beer.

Could be a great place but the lack of enthusiasm of the bar staff is appalling. The lady clearly doesn’t seem to be in the right job. Closes at 7 if not busy. Plenty of better places to spend your money nearby.

Out on a girlie evening, celebrating various things ie Christmas, birthdays ect. A group of us (total of 8) decided to give this one a try. Now the amount of times I’ve gone out into old town I have never tried this one and glad I did then. It was a little daunting at first due to the clear flooring looking into the cellar and being greeted but 3 friendly bar staff. It felt really small to start with and then I started to look about. It is small compared to your usual bars in old town but if you can get a table you will probably stay there all night. Due to the size of our group I was a little worried we might get in the way, but we were advised of a table in the back snug. Which suited us just fine. We came across some games in a box and decided to try them out and even had a go on the saddled stools lol. Definitely worth a visit and for all you gin drinkers a few different ones were on offer and my gin drinking friends seemed happy with the service.

As Old Town residents we used to visit The Plough fairly regularly, but never again! There used to be a fabulous guy behind the bar, but since he left there appears to be no interest/pride in the pub. Last time we went, despite the fact that there were only a few customers, they had run out of wine glasses - how can a pub run out of wine glasses? - so they served mine in a gin glass, which turned out to be plastic. Awful! The girl behind the bar had absolutely no interest in her customers and looked miserable. So many better pubs in Old Town - sad, but now definitely true.

I was trying to watch a Champions League match between Real Madrid and Juventus but it was quiz night so I got to leave because the old ladies in the Pub wanted my place. Besides, it has no food so if you find somewhere else to go, just go ahead.

Have been here numerous times for the cheese night . Decided to visit tonight , got the wine and then only told when we asked that there are not enough staff to get the cheese . Very bad as checked website before visiting and still advertised on website . No notice on door to advise no cheese . Also no crisps or peanuts available . My group of friends and I will not be returning here in future .

Fantastic local pub. Interior decor is pleasant and its a quirky more different pub in the area. Drinks are decent and well priced, service is super friendly.

It was Saturday evening we hadn’t booked and it was very busy, the manager was very good and got us a table. The menu was vast and all local produce. The prices were reasonable and the place was clean and welcoming.

The Plough has changed a lot over the years cosmetically, but the service, atmosphere and value have all remained constant and very good. We last visited as a family group on a Saturday afternoon. As usual the bar staff were spot on - friendly, chatty and helpful. And funny! We stayed for a couple hours and the 'out of towners' in our group were impressed with this little gem in Old Town. They do a happy hour but even after this their prices are reasonable. We will be back.

I was attracted to the Plough by all the flower displays at the entrance. Once inside the door there is a glass floor view into the cellar showing real ale kegs The bar man was welcoming and helpful in choosing a local brew. It's a small bar but very clean and organized. Lots of history displayed on the walls This is ideal if you're looking for a quiet place to chat and feel at home

Sadly arkells beers are akin to drinking rainwater and as this is an arkells pub then that's what you get. Funky interior with nice glass floor looking to cellar. Fairly individual with young but well-mannered staff who changed an off ale with no problem. Lacks atmosphere inside and the beer is weak and tasteless. Not a bad score from cwz...

We recently went to a comedy show in Swindon and fancied a pint after but with it being a Friday night all the pubs/bars we walked past were rammed full with loud music and long waits at the bar until we found this little gem. Great choice of drinks, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Exactly what we were looking for. Thanks guys. It was the perfect end to a great night.

Really suprised to find this pub. Like an oasis in a hostile desert, no load music or agro merchants. Really nicely decorated and a good pint.

Called in to see new layout Sunday evening. Barmaid put both beers in horrible chunky mugs. Music was far too loud and there were also noisy children playing there. Won't be going back.

El exterior tiene un aspecto muy atractivo, pero por dentro está decorado un poco como un bar de vinos con la iluminación y asientos piggledy higgledy como un antiguo pub inglés. Para mí hubiera sido mejor con iluminación y asientos cabinas tradicional así que se puede revivir el ambiente de un edificio muy antiguo.

looks ok, beer average to poor, staff act like school kids and close whenever they feel - way before advertised times - apparently to work in one of there other pubs "which get too busy..." best avoided, plenty of good pubs around
