The best restaurants in Swindon South West

Today I had one of the best roast lunches ever. It was delicious. I had roast pork belly which was beautifully tender and wrapped in fabulous pork crackling. With this I had crunchy roast potatoes, parsnips, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower cheese (this was an add on) Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The food was piping hot.

The attention to detail was brilliant. The staff were all, without exception, attentive and very welcoming they also made plenty of eye contact. The tables were presented beautifully with fabric tablecloths and napkins. I felt like I was having a meal at a special event. The food was beautiful too, well cooked and just the right amount. I don't eat very much and only ordered two sides but it was plenty and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants something that bit special to book here.

Everything fresh, everything good

Ordered two cappuccinos with oat milk, took 15mins to then have to be remade as made with normal milk. Coffee was then served luke warm but after then reading previous reviews, didn't want to mention it as I didn't want to get verbally abused by the manager. First and last visit!

A proper, genuine pub. No gloss or glitz. Good range of beers and ciders at great prices. All below £5. For me, the only reason to visit Swindon.

Great hotel, family run, all staff helpful & happy to assist you in anything, carries bar is the heart of the hotel, Sunday carvery is the best!!!

Went here with a friend today and was wowed by the fun, colour and fruit filled design, the best McDonald's I've been to in years, all the others are now grey, dull and boring. The staff were friendly and helpful particularly the blonde lady. We will be back as long as it stays bright and cheerful as it is now. I really recommend a visit.

Really good location not far away from centre of Swindon , really good atmosphere, very kindly,polite staff , the food so delicious. Yesterday i had my 55th Birthday party at the Rat Trap, the function room was perfect for this occasion, had plenty of room with private outdoor area, private bar and brilliant staff , with amazing food, i have never seen a graze table like it, simply outstanding, will definitely be using this again
