Visited just over a week ago. Initial impression is of a tired looking restaurant with a poor layout and not particularly big. There were 3 of us on a 3 course Groupon deal. We each had starters, mains and ice cream. Whilst the starters and mains were plentiful, tasty and good quality, the vanilla ice cream was cheap and nasty and thankfully, came in miserly portions! Our biggest complaint though was the terrible service. After being shown to our table, we waited patiently to be asked if we would like drinks. It didn't happen and I had to beckon a waiter. After eventually receiving the drinks, we ordered our food and it must have taken around a half hour before our starters arrived. I would add at this juncture that the restaurant was only around half full! The mains took even longer to arrive! To give you an idea, our reservation was for 7pm and we left at 10pm! The whole place needs a thorough shakedown including the poorly organised staff. We will not be returning.

We book online for our table reservation - very easy process, staff have always been very friendly on our visits. Food is delicious, served hot and with hot plates, never had to wait too long. on the downside, the toilet area is up some steep stairs and are very tired looking. Don't let the fact it feels like you are going into someone's living room for dinner - food has never let us down!

So we expected it about 9pm. At 9:30pm, still no food had arrived. Called again, food not in the kitchen so should be with us soon. 10pm comes, still no delivery. Another phone call. Staff apologises and offers 20% off our next order. 10:15pm our food arrives. Now, I understand sometimes service does run a little late...but nearly 3 hours is unacceptable. It was too late to enjoy our meal, regretted wasting money on ordering.

We always use the Curry Palce, and booked a table for 20 on Sunday Lunch time. To make it easy, we all pre ordred, a mix from the main menu and the Sunday special menu.

Went with friends using a Groupon voucher which gave us particularly good value for money. Wide choice of dishes including Papadoms, starter , mains , rice and sides. Very nice food with good service, well worth a visit.

The atmosphere was good in the restaurant with reasonably priced food and drinks. Sensible costs. The curry eaten was delicious with great spices and a super blend of herbs with the sauce. A top dish and thoroughly cooked. I recommend this place.

Had dinner last night with my wife, the whole experience was wonderful with excellent service and even a complimentary drink...

Bought a Groupon voucher, excellent value for money, poppadoms with a relish for nibbles, mixed kebab for starters chicken bhuna...

Started at 6 45 pm now in total relaxation, first of all start of with a beer for the wife and myself, a few sips of beer, next given menu each, order popadoms and chutneys followed by 2 more beers 7. 45 order starters and enjoy 8. 30 order main course and a bottle of wine, tuck in and the exquisite taste now this is heaven now must leave to catch the 10 .15 bus back home

I've eaten here numerous times with friends and the service and food have always been good. My issue is that after placing an online order and providing my mobile number, The Curry Place has been sending me marketing texts every Friday for more than 6 months.

I ordered a takeaway from here. Now I get weekly text messages from them every single Friday afternoon. They don't come from a phone number (it shows as coming from CurryPlace) so there is no facility to reply to unsubscribe or even to block the number (as there is no number) on iOS at least. The food was decent but I regret ever ordering from there. I've deleted dozens of their messages but the attached screenshot shows some of the most recent. Every single Friday, without fail, for months. I wish I could block them. I wish I'd never given them my number.

We have used this restaurant regularly and have always been happy. But the last time we went with our friends the service was appalling, we were not greeted with drinks and when our friends joined us they were not given a menu. Service was slow and poor we had to ask for everything and the waiter just sat at the bar and ignored us. we were served by the overworked guy doing the takeaways. The food when it did arrive was superb as always. It was a shame the waiting staff are so poor at their jobs. When my daughter and her husband went in they were overcharged for their drinks and had just as poor service and were given a dirty table.

Booked with a groupon voucher, Didn't get everything it says on voucher no side dish or desert only offered ice cream, the bill came to £9 for two cokes which came out of a bottle & was warm & flat. The place & staff looked tired & scruffy..

Went for the Wednesday deal of starter, main, side and rice\bread. Service was good and food excellent only issue was another customer who was obviously drunk he kept ear wiggling and butting in. Annoying and rude. Other than this was really nice and would go again.

Went early with a groupon voucher. Pre booked. What value for money. Superb quality, great portion sizes and friendly service. 6 of us went ranging from 5 years old to the birthday boy at 70. All had a wonderful time. Would highly recommend

The rogan josh didn't taste like rogan josh, as well as ringing up to ask for no large pieces of onion and being reassured that there won't be any at all, we received it with a lot of onion so my partner couldn't eat it. And as it was 1 hour and 20 mins wait we couldn't be asked to wait even longer just to receive one that was what we asked for. I will not be returning to this place again after this experience.

Order a takeaway once a few months ago. The food was ok and arrived on time. Unfortunately the experience has been ruined by the fact the I get a text message from the at least twice a week telling me to order food from them. There is no facility to be removed from their mailing list so I emailed and have asked to be removed from their mail list but I have started to receive text from them more often. Don't eat here as this will happen to you as well

We had a good meal. The food was very tasty and because we had bought a voucher it was very good value. However felt were overcharged for drinks and they declined to let me keep the written bill saying they needed to keep it. As we had taken guests we didn't want to cause a fuss and still left a £10 tip. We did get good value due to the voucher but if I returned I would check the bill very carefully. (Was charged £44.00 for 8 cobra beers and a glass of house wine.) We had Balti, Rogan and I personally had lamb Shally which was delicious. My keema naan was also good. We ate at 7pm on a Friday evening and the service was very slow. As we were with friends this wasn't a problem but if we'd been on our own it would have been an issue.

Had a take away from here several times when in town over the past 3 years and never been disappointed with the food. The meals are always consistent and good portion sizes.Delivery is always around an hour and usually on time.

I have visited the Curry Place on 4 occasions, always good and tasty food ,nice atmosphere with friendly staff.i also noticed that people coming for meals and takeaways are frequent returners,always a good sign. Can't wait for my next meal at the Curry Place .

Family meal, thought we would try the groupon deal for starter, main course and dessert. Not too bad visit, waiter didn't know certain mains when the food came out. There was a man continuously complaining in the restaurant, felt sorry for the staff. Flavours of the meal tasted great. Deal is definitely worth a try!

I work near to 'The Curry House' and the smell of the restaurant is fantastic as you walk by which prompted me to visit. Naturally I scouted out the reviews on TripAdvisor (many of which mention the phone ringing and delivery people in out out) although they also mention a group-on deal which I took up and visited, not knowing what to expect.The deal itself was for 4 people and there was a lot of food! Really good value!The food itself was very nice, cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. The interior (and exterior) feels a little small but this didn't detract from the experience.In regards to phones constantly ringing and delivery men bustling in and out.. well that didn't happen at all - a quiet peaceful meal, with excellent food & service at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend to others.

Tuesday I went to the curry place it was astonishing the service was slow but if it's slow food must be good. I ordered the chicken moglai my taste buds came alive when I took the first bite out of the best curry I have ever tasted I mean I have been to loads of curry places but that was the best one.

No mushrooms came with order n it also sed free wine with orders over £35 so was a bait disappointed

Booked this on a Groupon deal, not sure what we would get. Service was excellent the 2 waiters were very talkative and catered for our needs. Food was Great, poppadoms with relish, king prawn starter with garlic main chicken boona and naan bread. Could not fault anything with the Meal, definitely recommend.

I have used this curry restaurant for 10 years. Yes, I do get some of the negative reviews, but the food is still always top notch. They do struggle to juggle the restaurant, takeaways and delivery. Customer service is superb. My advice, book early and collect.

My brother and sister in law took us here as a special treat with a Groupon voucher. When we showed up we told them we'd forgotten the printed version but had it on our phones. We were told this was fine and sat down and ordered drinks.The owner then strutted up to me and accusing us of lying to his staff! He was asking where the voucher was. I tried explaining that we'd already informed them about the digital version. His face was full of hate and he simply didn't listen. He was shouting at us, at his staff who came to our rescue and tried to smooth it all out.I calmly asked him for an apology for the way he addressed us. He said, "I'll go get your apology" and stormed off to the kitchen mid conversation! At this point, I wanted to leave but as we'd paid for the Groupon already we had little recourse. When the owner came back I asked him what his game was and why he was being so rude, and he simply said "I told you I was going over there! I'm not being rude!". It's worth noting I never raised my voice or said a cross word to him.The rest of the staff could not have been more apologetic, telling us he's going through a bad personal time. Fortunately he left the restaurant soon after our confrontation. Several regulars came up to us and apologised too - they couldn't believe how badly we were treated but promised us the food and service is normally great. Indeed, we had a nice enough meal. We tipped the friendly staff and went on our way.The owner came back in to the restaurant a few times but didn't apologise. I left the place feeling nothing but ill-will for him and will never return.In short, avoid this place!

For the cost of the Groupon deal it was ok but nothing more. Food nothing special and staff, in general, nor very friendly. Main took an age to be served. Seemed they were only interested in having you buy items outside the deal. Also, this is nothing more than a converted terraced house.

Sometimes when you go to a place you think..well that was ok or even good, but you just know you won't be back. Well, for me that's The Curry Palace. Staff very friendly. Food not bad. Reasonable prices. Extensive menu.Park in Outlet village car park as there is no other parking close.

Wrong order delivered first then when we got our order one of the currys was wrong and the nan bread missing. I emailed the restaurant to let them know as it was too late to change it on the day and I have not heard anything back despite chasing them.

Went here as part of a groupon and it's was ok the staff were running about and even though it stated on our voucher it was a 3 course meal if u don't order a vanilla ice cream ur payin for a dessert ! But decent food though .

They forgot an item that was for my dinner and after waiting so long and having to phone to find out about our delivery being late it turned up with an item missing. Bit gutted after working all evening. But the curry and everything was perfect as always.

The curry place is a small restaurant and convenient for those tired late shoppers at the outlet village! We had a lovely chicken and prawn rogan josh and it really hit the spot.Service was efficient and friendly and prices very reasonable. It is not a high end fine dining restaurant but a typical small curry house. Would definitely come again when visiting Swindon

Tonight my wife and I had a fantastic meal in the curry house. This was our first time using a groupon voucher, all we had to pay for were our drinks. Great value - we couldn't believe what amazing value this meal was. The service was great, we were warmly welcomed and looked after throughout the whole meal. The curry house was obviously very popular: the restaurant was full and lots of takeaways being ordered. There was such a large menu to choose from; we waiter recommended the start and main courses; which absolutely delicious and piping hot. Portions were generous; we couldn't finish everything. Lovely food to compliment a lovely evening.

We've ordered from the Curry Place so many times and the food was always delicious. But this time there was way to much salt in the sauce, to the point that we binned almost everything from our plates while the chicken tasted a little bit weird as well. A real shame especially when the food cannot be considered as the cheapest.

Ordered a curry a few months back and it took almost 2 hours to arrive , so I stopped using this Resturant , decided to give them the benefit of he doubt , ordered a curry last night and it took over 90mins to arrive and when it did it was freezing cold.Will not be spending a penny in this Resturant ever again

Do not give them your mobile number, they will continually bombard you with messages that don't have the option to opt out. I've phoned and e-mailed but no one is interested. I've only ordered once from them and they were 1.5 hours late on the order, ("they're 5 mins away" was what we were told about 5 times within that time). They would not refund any difference and over the phone said next time we order we can have 50% off but no confirmation so does that mean if anyone says that they'll get it? What we did receive was naturally cold but no way were we going to ask them to send anything else. I'd give it 2.5 stars quality wise but 1 star here due to the refusal to remove me from their marketing texts. There's too many choices around to offer this level of service or food.

2nd time to the curry place and it's was just as amazing as the first!! Fabulous food, fabulous staff, super friendly and cosy feel. Helped me pick as a fussy curry eater and it was the most amazing curry I have ever eaten. Will 100% be returning.

ate here for the first time today and what a fantastic place small and very friendly,, good value food cooked to perfection, will be using this place again for sure. its a small restaurant so i would recommend booking in advance
