I ordered a chicken biryani but it did not taste like biryani was very horrible.

Authentic Bangladeshi curries prepared to individual requests. Every dish was cooked well and the flavours were three-dimensional (not just chili). Service was excellent, glasses of wine delivered well above the white portion line on the glass and a terrific atmosphere to reunite with friends. We will definitely return.

Have been here several times, both for a meal off the main menu and most recently for the Sunday afternoon buffet. For the price of just under £12, I was impressed. A choice of about 6 curries, one of which was vegetarian and the usual additions like rice, poppadoms, naan and mango chutney. All good.

Ordered a Goan fish curry which I have had in various other restaurants . It was described on the menu as a fish sauce coconut curry that was quite spicy hot- exactly how I would expect it. Sadly what I receive was nothing like this. 3 pieces of white fish in a green oily blend of green peppers and spinach. No flavour at all, no coconut, no spice, no more heat than a stew. This was not a curry, and was not nice. Would definitely not go there again.

The food was excellent well presented and didn't have to wait to long for the food but didn't feel rushed either, staff was friendly and very helpful.

Really good Sunday buffet. Friendly staff, tasty food, bustling atmosphere. Could be even better with a few more dishes and somewhere to put the lids, but overall difficult to fault at the price (£12 adults). Recommended and will definitely return!

Fantastic indian best indian in Swindon It's our go to go indain restaurant. I have had many Indian's in my life and Lalbagh Indian Cuisine is the best l have ever had. If you live in Swindon or just visiting ??? You won't be disappointed.

Went for the Sunday Buffet. Not cheap as it used to be but a very nice selection as it was when I last went before the pandemic. Worth a visit.

Had a sweet chicken curry, with pashwari nan. Banging. Compliments to the chef! Good service too. Enjoyed the meal. Popodums dips were nice as well

Ordered for first time in awhile usually good however tikka starter had no taste of tikka it was like plain chicken keema naan was like a really thick fat ball of doh with tiny bit of keema inside not nice at all chilli masala had no taste at all and was full of juice and about 5 tiny peices of chicken tiny portions i eat out alot and i like to leave fair reveiws i spent £28 and honestly a 1 star today will be sticking to my regular from now on. TASTELESS! WASTE OF MONEY!

Superb service! A rather large family gathering was perfectly catered for with all bespoke requests sorted without fuss. Piping hot, tasty, fresh delicious meals. Cannot fault a single thing about it. Thank you to all from front of house to the fabulous chef. Highly recommend !!!

Very bad experience.Staff was very rough,food is not in India taste and quality is not good.totally bad service.

Few days back I order buffet for me and my wife. We started with beef and it was soo bad smelly and cold my wife started feeling sick after that. I requested that can you just leave it because the food is not good and we did eat anything yet for the beef i can pay, their staff was very rough he said no, you have to pay full even though you haven't eaten anything. It was very bad experience and thn i ended up paying half price for both of us without even taken bite ( except that one bite from beef).

Disappointed in quality of food in particular the lamb biryani and the lamb shishlak which was bordering on inedible due to it being very tough The rest of the £110 order was ok Buyer beware.

One of best south Indian restaurants in England, lot of South Indian foods, taste preparation was excellent, only thing tea is average, neat and clean restaurant

Enjoyed dining here, the food was tasty and there was a good amount. The staff were friendly and attentive. The prices were excellent and make this good value for money.

I think it is well known amongst the locals. I think it is not completely Indian but it serves Indian cusine, I can say that coz of how the food tastes and way they serve. Could be a bangladesh. But food was ok. Not bad. Satisfactory.

What a joke this place is! Went here for a charity buffet, it was chaos! They ran out of plates after about 5 people, ran out of naan breads soon after. They charged me £3.80 for lime and soda!! It was more expensive than a beer, mean really ?! Food was average and the chicken was dry. Will not be returning to this place

Only order from here as so lovely. Although this evening I specifically said no onion garlic or coconut yet while eating it found a piece of onion very disappointing.

It's a few years since I last came here. The service was fine, the food was OK in general. I was a little surprised at the "Butter Chicken" I had. It was darker in colour and thereby less creamy than I expected and there was a lot of visible Ghi, which, while I expect butter chicken to be buttery tasting, I didn't expect to see a pool of oil in the bottom of my plate. That said, I ate and enjoyed my food, but just not the best I've had locally.

Delicious authentic curry, nan bread was delicious and chicken tikka masala main was lovely! Good portion sizes would recommend

Haven't had a Sunday lunch buffet for many years (20+ !).... really enjoyed it. I had a early lunch so was on my own in the restaurant.The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I had a great selection of vegetable curry. Left the restaurant absolutely full to the top. Excellent value at £12 .

Some of the best traditionally cooked Indian food I have ever tasted, I have yet to find a better quality, the restaurant is clean tidy and well laid out. Staff are friendly and attentive but not overly!!

Ordered at 18:30, chased the order at 20:30 and the wrong order turns up at 20:40. At 21:15 food finally turns up - 2 hours and 45 minutes after the order was accepted. Not the first time this has happened.

Ordered lamb methi ,was disappointed with flavour, pretty bland otherwise quality of cooking was good.

Waited 2 hours for delivery and then it was cold ....

Without a doubt the best curry in Swindon. Whether you eat in or take out, the food is always amazing. And the service is always great. Nothing is too much trouble. Abdul and the team are so friendly and helpful.

Customer service needs working on . Waited a while to be asked about food and drinks to order. Food was okayish but all nann breads were burnt so a no no for those. Chips were cheap and awful . Will not be going back again.

Average indian. Nothing special. Got a Chicken Vindaloo and it contained two pieces of chicken, the rest of it potato.

The food is pretty good but the welcome & general hospitality you get leaves something to be desired.

Went with friends as had never been or heard of the restaurant. Had excellent vegan, gluten-free, dairy free and nut free meals. Got a collection takeaway a week later and again excellent food

Diabolical service, lied to and not a single apology and still not refunded or payment! We ordered a takeaway on their website the way we have numerous times before and accepted that it would take 75 minutes for delivery (which you only find out after paying) and called them after 90 minutes to be told the driver had left to deliver it to us 10 minutes before. We accepted this and waited for the delivery which should have arrived immediately then as we live 10 minutes from the restaurant but no show. We called back after 20 minutes to be told they would redo our order (no apologies sounded like they forgot our order!) this would have meant we got our food after 10pm if it showed up at all so we declined and asked for a refund. We were told that this would take 3 days, we chased it up by email and have had no response. We used to like getting a takeaway from here but they clearly don’t care about customers so we will never order from them again.

Had Sunday buffet. Price was reasonable, very poor selection of food. Chicken pakoras nice but hardly any of them, they all went after 4 people had had some! There was hardly any meat in the curries and the sauce that was left in the serving dishes was just a watery mess. Very disappointing. No one except us took a clean plate up for seconds just used their dirty plate!! Obviously they are trying to make it as cheap as they can but they’d be better to just serve their regular menu. Awful won’t be back

Total rip off . Was excited to try food at this restaurant as a treat to my family . Unfortunately was let down. Firstly ordered for kingfisher beer but was given cobra on questioning the bar man instead of apologizing said what's the difference between them both . Totally disappointed with service . And when we ordered the food the portions were so small and the lamb biryani rice was not done / not cooked . Overall disappointed . Would never go again .

We both ordered a chicken biriyani each. The plate of biriyani rice contained 3 pieces of small chicken, the rice had minimal flavour and the vegetable curry had one big piece of potato, very little sauce and some defrosted mixed veg. When l said to the waiter that the food had little flavour he was annoyed and said l should have told him how hot wanted the curry. My response was 'l think you could have asked'. He just shook his head.

Fantastic food for our our sons birthday. Plenty of dishes for 5 adults, total cost £70 …. bargain. Like it that website gives you a pick up time, which was accurate.

Thanks for the Sunday left overs Lalbagh! A usually reliable curry was absolutely grim & sadly wont be using them again! Cold dhansak with too much garlic, butter chicken that had no sauce, tasteless peshwari naan….no more needs to be said!

Food was very nice but waited fifty minutes for it when it was bought to the table they forgot to bring my wife's food so we were all eating while she was still waiting for her meal also the restaurant was very noisy due to a children's football team night but as I said food was very good

Have to write a review. Last night I ordered a takeway for delivery, but like an idiot I selected collection. Upon calling the shop to ask "is it on it's way?" they politely informed me I had chosen COLLECTION, and it was here ready to collect. They kindly agreed to deliver it, it arrived pretty quick, food was still piping hot, food was absolutely BRILLIANT (as ever, we love this place). Absolutely top notch service. Thank you.

Our visit for lunch never happened, we waited 45minutes for our food to arrive. When we asked if there was a problem we were told I've only got one chef you know, at which point we paid for our drinks and left. As we did so the lady on the next table told us she had waited 1 hour for her food.

Very disappointed with the takeaway last night, the lamb was so poor and the 2 chicken dishes were overloaded with spices…. Will not be using again

This for a delivery. Ordered Garlic chilli chicken and other meals, which were okay, but there was something g very wrong with the chilli chicken - it smelt bad and tasted bad and I simply could not eat it and my guests tried it and agreed. To add insult to injury, Prices are much more expensive compared to other Indian takeaways - something that started during lockdown. What was once the best in Swindon is now a joke. Unfortunately, I threw in bin and did not save any to give to food safety for examination.

Last minute walk in after appalling service at the Weighbridge. Service was polite, friendly and fast. Food was tasty and plentiful. Thoroughly recommended.

Simply the best Indian in swindon

Having eaten at many Indian restaurants both locally and around the country, Lalbagh stands out for me as the food has always been excellent. Nice modern interior to the restaurant, with friendly staff who do what they can to ensure you have a pleasant dining experience. Over the years I have tried pretty much everything on the menu and the quality has always been great. If I had to be critical, there have been a few cases of slow service when they're extremely busy, but not so slow as to cause proper annoyance.

Been using them for 15 years- never been disappointed with the service or the product.

Best Indian takeaway in Swindon

Waited 2 hours for our delivery even after contacting them when phoning them they tried to fob me off by saying it was on its way without even asking me what my order was. No apology no part refund even though said on the phone they would compensate absolutely awful customer service. If you can't complete orders don't take them!!!!!

Had a simple Dupiaza rice and Galic Bread. Served hot, was tasty. Couldn’t fault anything. Job done 👍🏻

Good Indian food, Sunday buffet is value for money.

Have been a customer here for a good while and always been happy with the food and service. Last night our takeaway did not arrive anywhere near an acceptable time( over 2 hours) however I cannot fault the fact they accepted they made a mistake etc. The customer service was excellent to rectify the situation. Will continue to use them and would definitely recommend.

Booked a table for today 18.09.21 for 7pm for our wedding anniversary and when we turned up no table was ready for us. Waited until 7.30pm and still no table. Thanks alot, so what was the point of booking when you have to wait over 30mins plus. No we did not eat there in the end.

Have ordered from here several times but on this occasion the food was 45 minutes late after chasing it and arrived cold and small portions. The meal was tasteless.When I challenged them on the phone they wanted me to send the old food back after already waiting two hours. They would not refund anything either will never order from here again will collect from Jewel in the crown as they do not dissapoint.
