The Heart in Hand in Swindon

First visit here which was for Sunday lunch. All the waitresses had a friendly approach and nothing was too much trouble. Orders made were not exactly correctly provided ie wrong beer and crumble with ice cream instead of custard but all mistakes were quickly rectified. Nicely decorated inside and landican seems to take an interest in what people want in terms of drink even if he doesn’t currently have it. Location wise it is a bit far off for us but we would visit again.

I'm down here working and been made very welcome by the staff and locals. A great family run pub. Would recommend to anyone

Wow wow and wow, we had the marquee fully packed with lovely friends and family. Totally mixed ages , everyone has commented on how lovely the food and drinks were. The hospitality is always outstanding by Darren, Claire and Harry, along with all the staff who are all very good. If you are looking for a venue, I would totally recommend here, down to earth, no fuss just great food and services, and a party to remember well. We all had Roast dinners, along with desserts, food was tasty and hot. This pub deserves an award in “The Good Food Guide”

First time at The Heart in Hand and we were not disappointed: great food, reasonably priced, clean restaurant, great atmosphere and really friendly staff. We visited with my 80 year old mother in law and I was reluctant to sit outside so, despite being fully booked, they managed to accommodate us inside, which was really appreciated. Will definitely go back.

Me and my wife passing through decided to stop and have a Sunday roast and I have to say it’s one of the best Sunday meals we have had great staff very much attention to detail I would like to thank the bat man harry for looking after us and all the staff I can’t wait to return

After hearing good reviews about the food at this pub, my husband and I decided to see for ourselves and take our good friend there for Sunday Dinner. And we were not disappointed. The food came out quickly and was lovely and hot, unlike many places where we have been served lukewarm/cold food. The portions were good and the food was delicious. It was also reasonably priced. We found the pub light and airy and the table and chairs were not grubby and worn out, they were clean and very comfortable to sit on. All of the staff we encountered were cheerful and friendly too. We would 100% recommend this pub to everyone we know and will be returning soon. :)

We visited here for a Sunday lunch in May, having booked beforehand. I'm glad we did, because this relatively small pub quickly filled up soon after we arrived. It clearly has a lot of regulars and locals, which is always a good sign. The staff were very attentive and the food came quickly. My roast lamb was delicious, and the portion was very healthy too. Everyone else also enjoyed the food. They each had a sticky toffee desert, which they enjoyed. All the prices were very reasonable and we will be going back next time we stay in Blunsdon

The Sunday roast was ok but nothing special. Sloppy over cooked carrots and cabbage. I've given 3 stars as it was clean inside but dinner was no better than a wetherspoons!

Proper pub with a decent atmosphere. Landlord Darren is a real character and runs a tight ship. We had Sunday lunch here with some friends which was top notch. Friendly staff and great value. Decent outside space with a large covered area as well as a nice garden so ideal if you are taking the kids. Would return in a heartbeat as nothing not to like here.

Lovely catch up with friends for a Sunday roast. I suggested this pub after a previous visit. They loved it too . Could not fault anything! The roast was so tasty, staff are of excellent customer service. Best Sunday roast in a pub , plenty of meat , you can pay for extra potatoes (which the men did ) lots of vegetables and best part was plenty of gravy and it was delicious too! Looking forward to returning soon.

Stayed at the nearby Blunsdon House hotel and so pleased I found this pub to eat at. Only a 2 minute walk away. Really nice welcoming staff, (especially Milly) ate there all week apart from Monday when they don't serve food. The food was consistently good. Always busy so you need to book. Will definetly be back when staying in the area again. Sort of pub you wish you had back at home !

Visited this pub for evening meal when staying nearby. The outside didn’t look very inviting and could do either brightening up so we opened the door with a sense of trepidation, inside was bright and clean, staff immediately made up a table for us and took drinks orders. Food was fresh and tasty from a short menu of pub classics, we both had fish cakes which were delicious. Great attentive, but not pushy, service in a relaxed atmosphere for a good price - thoroughly recommend.

Ever since our friends moved into the village, we've made the HinH our local and it's now our go-to for Sunday lunch when our family visit. Darren did his utmost to accommodate us inside the main room, roasts were hot and tasty as always, with the added bonus of pie on the menu! "Pie as a Roast" - what's not to love. The Yorkshire contingent were impressed!! We'll be back soon ...

We went here for my mum's birthday, due to a mix up our end we arrived 2 hours earlier than our actual booked time, the landlord was very good and was trying to sort a table for us and move things about but we said we were happy to go and come back at the time we had booked for. We came back and the food was amazing! Really good value for money and the service was great. We came with a cake for mum's birthday and asked the staff to bring it out when we gave the nod, which they were happy to do, but we didn't know that they play "Happy Birthday" over the speaker and everyone joins in singing! It was really lovely and mum was chuffed. Thank you so much, Will definitely be back!

Another lovely visit - this has become our go-to place for Sunday lunch, although this visit was to meet friends (who are lucky enough to have this pub as their local!) - as it turned out we'd had an horrendous journey and were tired and just needed feeding! And boy, what food! I opted for the rub special- just amazing, such goof quality meat. I took some home and finished it for lunch today! Food is great, good selection of beers and the staff are a credit to the owners. We'll be back!

Lovely welcoming pub with a real local village pub vibe. Friendly staff and locals alike with a great choice of real ales, ciders and wide choice of main stream drinks. I didn’t try the gins and wine but the racks and fridges looked well stocked. Much better than the nearby hotel I’m staying in.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Both the waitresses that served us were very friendly and efficient, attentive but not overly so. Tables were promptly cleared after each course and drinks quickly replenished when running low. The food was served quickly yet was clearly fresh with fantastic presentation - just screamed EAT ME!! We opted for the burger and a sourdough pizza - both were the best we’ve had, pub grub come gourmet dining at its finest. Highly recommend to all, menu is varied and should suit all appetites. First time we have visited here and is now sure to be our first choice for all outings in the future. It’s a small intimate venue so booking in advance is a must. This was a great place for dinner with a good selection of food at a reasonable price. Even my fussy grandson tucked into the my rack of ribs plus his chicken burger. The cheesecake was superb and really naughty. The service was prompt and the staff friendly and it gets very busy so should book if you want a table.

Absolutely amazing food, staff, location and they were so accommodating too. This is the second time I’ve booked for family birthdays and I honestly cannot fault them. It’s a family run business which is very inviting and the food is really, really good and very well presented. You get more than just a pub vibe here. This time we visited it was for a 70th birthday and the landlady had kindly put up banners and table decs for us at no extra cost and wasn’t even requested but such a nice touch. Thank you so much for going above and beyond on both occasions, it really was appreciated. We will definitely be back

We booked a Sunday lunch when we were going to be on the road between Gloucester and London. The Heart in Hand is well placed - about half a mile off the A417. We were welcomed when we arrived and shown straight to our table. The pub interior is modern yet cosy. We both ordered the roast beef dinner (£14.95) and it was in front of us in ten minutes. Absolutely delicious. The beef was the tenderest, most succulent I have ever tasted. We finished off with dessert and coffee and were on our way again in an hour. I'm not saying that speed is actually a virtue but service was so efficient and attentive that speed was the natural consequence of that, and although the service was speedy we did not feel rushed: we felt we had all the time we wanted We will definitely return.

Great meals lots of food on the plates we had a fish and chips and half of chicken .Both meals were large and tasty ,my wife then had a crumble for a sweet again very good .Very friendly landlord etc .

Great place, the staff are SO friendly and attentive. It's our new favourite pub and always our first choice now of where to go! The food is great too but it's the staff and friendly people that really make you want to come back!

Best Gastro pub we’ve ever visited. We were only staying in the area for 2 days, accidentally came across it and ended up having lunch and dinner on both days … even had delicious cake and coffee there just before we left to return home to Holland. The food will match any good restaurant, and the wines are excellent both in terms of choice and quality … both food and wines are friendly priced … by the way, they also serve a great range of beers and real ales. The ambiance is relaxed jolly and fun, which stimulates easily-flowing conversations and lots of laughter … the place is tastefully decorated and there’s a large well-maintained garden at the back with lots of sunny and shaded places to sit to enjoy your food and drinks … even the toilets are clean and well-serviced. The owners, Darren and Clare, are really special, as is their son Harry … super-welcoming, very friendly and superb service … and these are the values they have instilled in all of their staff … all focused on giving their customers a lovely experience. We will return for sure next time we’re in that part of the UK, and would make a detour to visit … highly recommend others to do the same.

We’ve been to the Heart In Hand a few times for Sunday lunch and it just gets better and better. We went yesterday and the food arrived about 10 mins after ordering and was delicious! Generous portions of home cooked food at a very reasonable price. Sunday roast was followed by home made cheesecake which was equally delicious! I can’t rate his place highly enough for genuine home cooked food in a village setting.

Too cramped, they try to cram too many tables in on a Sunday inside pub, normally I think they put you outside in tent, but was far too cold. food was very nice though

Travelled all the way from Birmingham to this lovely local pub. Was welcomed in like family and ate delicious food! Highly recommend the hallumi fries and honeycomb cheesecake. Lovely family run pub with excellent atmosphere and service. Lovely selection of gins. Couldn’t recommend more!!!

This beautiful pub is in blunsdon village area of swindon and the owners are amazing and friendly and the pub is just so lovely a proper homey village pub. The meals are absolutely amazing and tasty. Theres a carpark to park on the side of the pub and has a garden area so you can either sit outsid eor inside . I totally recommend thsi beautiful village pub. A 15 minute drive on the A419 will take you to the cotswold area cirencester and south cerney . .

Visited this pub on a recommendation from a friend. We weren't disappointed. Best fish chips for a long time followed by a superb treacle tart and custard. All freshly prepared , with very nice efficient service. The whole place was spotless ,a very enjoyable experience

An amazing experience. Some of the best pub food I have ever had! We had the ham, egg and chips, a steak and the lamb shank and all were incredible. The triple cooked chips were perfection. We visited this pub after many recomendations - we weren't disappointed. The Sunday lunch is a proper 'home cooked' lunch. The portions very generous, and just tasted delicious. The staff and owners were very friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. It was busy (always a good sign) and overall there was a really friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely return for Sunday lunch and can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Popped in for a drink on Sunday and ended up having a roast dinner as looked really nice , the good news was it was a very good roast dinner . A real pleasant change not to be looked down too when you have not booked a table , the young bar men was very profesional and nice , served the drinks well and later on sorted us out for the roast, all the staff seemed to know what to do and worked well as a team . Overall a very enjoyable and tasty visit will be going back next Sunday.

WOW.What a gem of a pub.Visited on a Friday, and unable to get in as they were extremely busy, that is a positive sign. Returned in the Saturday night after booking a table. The staff were exceptional, you can see the passion they have. Food was outstanding. Very good value for money, and the portions were over than substantial. ( Should not have had a starter)! Exemplary cooking, tasted absolutely marvellous.If I lived in the village it would definitely be my local.Wishing the owners and team all the very best. Keep going, you are onto a winner with your delightful attitude.

We have just came home from our first visit to the Heart and hand Blunsdon. What a clean beautiful cosy friendly old school pub !! Our first visit and absolutely blown away with the welcome and just the best proper traditional roast we have had since we hung up our aprons Ample fresh veg beautiful tender beef and massive portions with gravy to die for!! And nothing to much trouble. Followed by dream puddings. And my Pete is a bit fussy on his real ale but he said it was just perfect and the best choice of wines. We are just totally won over and we wlll definitely be regular visitors from here on in. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visited on 14/11/21 for Sunday lunch with my family. Very warm welcome and drink order taken and delivered, lunch ordered and good quick service by very smart staff in there uniform. All had smile and checking that every thing all right. We will return soon.

I visited here with a friend as we were staying nearby. We initially went for a couple of drinks, planning to return to our hotel for dinner, but we were so warmly welcomed and accommodated, despite most if not all of the tables being already taken or prebooked for the evening, we eventually ordered food. The camembert starter to share was amazing (who'd have thought sweet chilli sauce would work so well!). We ordered mains which were equally tasty, but maybe the camembert starter was intended for 4 sharers not 2 and we weren't able to finish all of our meals. Whilst we probably won't need to stay overnight in the area again, this pub is definitely on my list of places to stop and eat, a short distance from the M4 and such a friendly landlord and landlady.... If I lived closer, this would be my local. Good honest food, and a genuinely friendly pub.

I can’t tell you how exciting it is to finally have a great pub in the village!! Claire and Darren have transformed what was a rather tired “local” into something REALLY special for everyone in the community - friendly service, GREAT food, great atmosphere, spotlessly clean. Any village would be lucky to have a pub like this; we finally have!

I really rate this place and can't fault it in anyway..... I am drawn back again and again by the excellent food and service. I like sitting out in their marquee which is spacious and elegently lit and so warm, even on a October evening. I spent four hours chatting with family without being hassled, a most enjoyable evening. Thank you to everyone who works there and especially Harry who makes an awsome Americano.....

Great range of well-cooked/presented food, with great staff to serve you, nothing Is too much trouble for any of the team and all of this served with a smile. On both occasion we have had the Roast Dinner, beef for my husband and I, Lamb for our daughter. Our meals have been second to none. If you like a little topple after and Whiskey is your thing you won’t be disappointed it is top notch, pretty sure Darren will find you a Quaich so you and your friends can celebrate the wonderful evening you will have had. Darren, Claire and their team know true hospitality, from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you have the experience of being a valued customer, great food, great wines, great atmosphere and topped off with great Prices.

We decided to try the heart in hand, it was lovely, great service, lovely and friendly. I had homemade burger, which was delicious, my partner had sirloin, cooked to perfection, chips we're beautiful, we then had dessert i had waffle, delicious lashings of chocolate sauce, my other half had homemade benoffee pie, which was also lovely. Will be definitely going back next Tuesday

It was good to be in a pub with nice clean furniture. Too many places seem to get away with a tatty mixture of odd chairs and tables with sticky surfaces. Good service and reasonable prices. The food was very tasty and did not look like the "prefab" stuff served in some pubs. First visit and will definitely return.

We were staying in a hotel close by for the weekend and a local told us to try out the heart in hand pub for food, so we decided to have dinner here.When we arrived, we were told there was no space for food, however the landlord managed to squeeze us in befote a large party ordered. I had the hunters chicken and my fiance had the steak, both which were amazing, cooked perfectly, cake out hot and portion sizes was fab. For dessert we had the panna cotta and bannoffe pie, which were both very tasty and great portions. If we are back in the area, I'd deffinately return and would highly recommend.

Attended with family and between us we had all the Sunday Roast options. Food was delicious, plenty of it, and staff were very attentive and friendly. Table options inside and outside, good beer and relaxing meal. Thoroughly recommend this pub for Sunday lunch and will go back without hesitation.

We visited as a group of 9 for a family birthday meal. It was really busy but all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was really good and came quickly despite how busy it was. The two waitresses were lovely. Definitely recommend.

The Heart in Hand was recommended by a friend but we have had trouble getting booked in as it’s so popular.We opted to visit today after finally getting booked in to have the Sunday roast and was not disappointed.Lovely welcome by a staff member who we discovered was Claire the owner with her husband Darren. You can immediately tell that it’s family run by how every member of staff were extremely friendly and very efficient.Lovely clean tables and very nice decor.Nice choice of roasts and we opted for the pork and beef. Both arrived without much of a wait considering how busy it was, nice quantity of both meats with great roasties and big Yorkshire pudding, separately came a nice selection of veg, really fresh and not overdone. A nice jug of proper gravy, you could tell it was home made, delicious.We had the chocolate fudge cake which we shared, wish I’d had my own portion now as it was amazing, really light and tasty.Throughly recommend the Heart in Hand, both Claire an Darren made us feel very welcome, will be back soon.

We came here as we do visit frequently as a couple and as a family but today we had just visited an appalling pub lunch in Marlborough and needed to be surrounded by atmosphere and nice people! !! Darren and Claire are the most loveliest people the staff are so friendly nothings too much trouble, we didn't have food this time but we have lots and its always amazing well done . This pub has atmosphere is friendly well priced and great for familys

Always our favourite pub and over the last 2 week's we have enjoyed catching up with friends and family for bar meals for the first time in 18 months. Welcome, service and food always top notch and Clare, Darren and the team could not do more to look after us whether it be just for a quick drink when walking the dog, or dining as a couple, or with friends and family. Couldn't recommend this village pub more whether on 2 legs or 4! Booking made for next week........thank you as always guys.

I have visited this establishment several times since the new owners took over earlier this year and I have only great things to say about the quality of service from this dog friendly pub. The owners and their staff con not do any more to make your experience very special, from a excellent range of beers through to an outstanding menu of perfectly prepared and presented food. The rib eye steaks are without doubt the best I have ever tasted and keep calling me back. I understand they have plans to enhance the experience of your visit further. This is a visit you should not miss, definatley an evening to be savoured. I can not recommend this enough. Go and like us, have a wonderful time.

Visited under the new management, understand the chef is still the same chef - table booked for six of us - we were not asked if we wanted to sit outside or in - ordered drinks no complaint here they were very forthcoming - ordered food - disappointment here - cold plates, food was not hot and no homemade Yorkshire pudding, veg must have been shown over the hot water as these we hard - I know that some people like their veg this way but cabbage was difficult to eat - but the most irritating thing was the owners dog wandering around and standing at your table whilst you ate - then other people started to bring their dogs in - I am not a dog hater but surely where food Is concerned this was not hygienic, we had to ask for the dog to be taken away a few times.

Excellent all round! We came here for dinner after being disappointed by the slow service at a nearby hotel we were staying at, and were delighted with our evening. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. We would definitely come again. Oh, and we recommend the nachos!

Visited the Heart in Hand this evening for the first time and had a lovely evening! Delicious home cooked food - so fresh and tasty! Excellent service from all the staff - a really friendly feel to the pub. Great real ale on draught as well. Highly recommended!

Gave this place a try a few times and every time I have not been disappointed. The new landlord and landlady are very friendly and instantly you feel welcome either inside or outside in the marquee. The mix of customers is about right with locals and youngsters and the vibe is very positive. The food is of a very high standard and the dishes have that home cooked flare about them. All in all if your looking for a date night or a catch up with your friends or family then book a table to avoid being disappointed. One thing is for sure you will certainly come back for more.

I met a very old and very good friend for a few beers at the Heart in Hand, and had a superb afternoon.On arrival you are directed to a gate where you sign in for Covid 19 purposes, and then move to a large area of outdoor seating, all very comfortable and safely spaced. Much of this was covered by a large and airy marquee, with heating supplied. Service was fast and super friendly. It's family run and staffed, and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The outside area was packed but the staff still found time for a friendly chat with customers; quite a feat when under pressure.The beer was in excellent condition. I decided to start with Butcombe Bitter and enjoyed it so much that I just stuck with it. Delicious. Apparently the cider was great too for those who like such things! We only had snacks (a selection of light bites), but these were delicious and served quickly. I can particularly recommend the Loaded Chips which were very tasty but notably also plentiful. One of those makes a pretty filling snack for two, and the toppings were delicious and just the right amount - all for a fiver. More substantial meals were available and looked really good, but we did not try them so can't offer an opinion further than that.I only went inside to use the loo, and obviously the inside dining area is closed at present, but it looked very pleasant if unsurprisingly much smaller than the outside area.All aspects of hygiene and safety were very well handled throughout.I highly recommend this pub. Everything was tip top, but if I were to have to choose a single main reason to visit it would be the staff and service. You won't find better anywhere. Visit and you won't be disappointed.

Booked a table due to covid, its been about 20 years since i was last here and little has changed, its still the same decor but dont let that put you off. The welcome was warm and there had been some thought put into making it as best as possible with distanced tables, a one way system in and out of the pub.Menu isnt huge (but thats good), plenty to choose from for most diets and tastes. Service was good and portions were huge, well cooked good honest food at very reasonable prices. Very good option for a bit of pub grub, i'm sure we will revisit

Short notice but chose this place to meet up with family. It's a lovely place, staff were great...Evie our waitress was brilliant. Our food came out very quick and piping hot and was delicious. We will return soon.

Greeted warmly on arrival and, even though we were early, our room was ready.Decor was a little tired, but it is an old building. Positives - staff were really friendly, especially the chef. We had a lovely soup for lunch and dinner (salmon & steak/ale pie) was excellently cooked and plentiful, as was breakfast. Great being able to have black pudding! Only negative really was, even though the radiator was hot, the room felt cold - however, once under the warm duvet it was really cosy.

What can I say . I have been here for a meal several times and I have to say I have never been disappointed. They prepared the table with gems and roses which was a lovely touch. The food is amazing. It's situated in blunsdon village slightly passed the blunsdon hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming and you must book especially weekends as it do get busy for food. The prices of the food are so reasonable and the portion size are big. Totally recommend this place .

Went for lunch with a friend.As always, the staff are friendly and helpful.Fantastic value two course lunch- only £7:95 and only £6:95 for Pensioners!I had the roast pork dinner, followed by jam roll poly- yummy!My friend had the fish and chips and same pudding.Also had the recommended lager- very nice!Looking forward to our next visit!

5 of us visited this country pub for a meal tonight and I can say with complete confidence that we were all very impressed with:-1. The variety of the menu - carefully considered to offer something for all appetites and tastes. 2. The quality and standard of the food. First class. 3. The very good customer service.4. The excellent value for money - we all thought the prices were unbelievably inexpensive. It’s definitely the sort of place that once you’ve discovered it you would definitely return and be prepared to recommend it to others.An all round very successful and enjoyable experience.

I stayed here for one night, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was second to none and the rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. Do not be put off by the outside appearance of the building as it does look to be in need of a clean and some TLC. But you can't see the outside once you are through the door.If I was to work in the area again then the Heart in Hand would certainly be my first choice.

First class short stay at the Heart in Hand. The proprietor and staff made us very welcome from arrival. We were early and they took our bags up to the room while they made us a much needed pot of tea. Rooms comfortable and with a view. Food first class. I recommend the steak and chips and the fish n’ chips. Wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely caring vibe about the place.

This is a great place to stay, conveniently located near the many beautiful towns in Cotswold, the room has all amenities and it’s clean. It also has a great view. The restaurant offers a variety of great foods from the world and the staff is friendly and kind.

The menu is extensive and everyone in our party found something they wanted to try. My vegetable lasagne from the specials board was absolutely delicious, but too big to finish it all. This may be related to how generous the Whitebait starter was 😊

This place provided exactly what we needed after being snowed in. Only a few minutes walk from the Blunsdon house it was warm, cozy, good beer and a family friendly environment.If you decide to come for dinner, call ahead of time and MAKE reservations as the seating/tables are limited and often times they turn people away. If you were lucky enough to get a table, try everything!! The food is fresh, flavorful and cooked to order. Reasonable priced food selections and the beer just keeps flowing.

We stayed here just last week for the evening, a surprise meet up with friends, so took advantage of dinner, drinks, the room and breakfast. We have got to say the evening meal was top notch! Each of the 6 of us had different meals and each of us said how brilliant the food was. Served promptly, hot, well presented and extremely tasty! Would DEFINITELY recommend.

Had a very satisfying Sunday lunch and the puddings are delicious.i had roast beef and my partner had lamb which was accompanied by a large variety of vegetables and very delightful.service was great and very reasonably priced will revisit soon.

I booked a table for three at Heart in Hand for Sunday lunch. This was our first visit to the venue and certainly not our last. The staff were welcoming and cheerful, the service excellent and the food was delicious. The surroundings were homely and clean. I would recommend this venue to all.

Chose this hotel as a change from nearby Premier inn. Greeted by friendly staff and shown our twin room which was clean but had very little space between the beds to walk in Bathroom was small but clean and adequate. We could not eat there however as that night they had a private party of 40 people so had to retreat to the restaurant next to the Premier again. The duvets in the room were old and did not match the attractive colour scheme of the room at all. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order unlike the Premier and was HOT and very tasty indeed and the selection was excellent. The Car park was full on our return from our evening meal but the manager kindly saved us a space by using his van in the disabled bay. As I was slightly disabled with a new knee I found the steep staircase difficult to manage and probably for this reason we might not return, shame as we enjoyed the more private atmosphere compared to a big Hotel.

Travelling into Swindon for business stay and needed somewhere for dinner. Chanced upon this pub restaurant after a quick check on TripAdvisor. Friendly welcome upon arrival and found a free table. Table service was fast and friendly and meal was excellent. Sirloin steak was so tender and the vine tomatoes were another star of the dish. All very well cooked and presented. Not the cheapest but I thought it was good value for money. Would definitely recommend. Need to look beyond the slightly dated decor and benefit from the welcome and quality of food provided. Thanks.

The Heart in Hand is a great traditional pub that we're always keen to return to for the hearty food, reasonable prices and warm welcome... our meal last weekend was no exception!

What a fantastic meal.friendly staff and the food it truly amazing. It was out 29th yr anniversary and put daughter and boyfriend joins us as they life in the village of blunsdon. What a fabulous meal. Highly recommend it. A lovely village pub .

Decided to eat here while staying at the nearby Premier Inn - a pleasant 15m stroll and well worth it! I can only echo the other excellent reviews: it's not an arty 'gastro pub' but a genuine local pub that happens to serve excellent food. We found we needed to book a table and you may have to wait a while at the busiest times as it's deservedly very popular but were rewarded with an excellent meal in a nice atmosphere and good value. We were so impressed we immediately booked for the following night and were glad we did. A great find.

We verbleven 5 nachten in dit hotel dat daarmee als uitvalsbasis diende voor onze vakantie in de Cotswolds. We werden welkom geheten in de pub door de kok die onze visite direct meldde bij de eigenaar van het hotel. Een allervriendelijkst en beminnelijkst man di er alles aan deed om onze vakantie te veraangenamen (we mochten vijf dagen lang een kaart van hem lenen). Een prima, schone kamer op de eerste etage met een prachtig uitzicht op de wijd(s)e omgeving. In de bar dronken we 's avonds een whisky of Guinness, tweemaal maakten we gebruik van het diner (prima, degelijk, voedzaam en ruime keuze) en eenmaal van het (Engels) ontbijt. De bediening was erg betrokken bij ons verblijf, informeerde dagelijks wat we gezichten en gaven advies over vervolgtochten. De kamers werden dagelijks goed schoongemaakt. Slechts een aanmerking hadden we op ons verblijf: de zeer bescheiden (maar dan ook zeer bescheiden) douchestraal (je moest heel wat rondjes lopen om echt nat te worden), maar verder zeer aanbevelenswaardig.
