I met some friends in the Queens Tap for a few drinks and dinner. Although the food menu was limited there was still a reasonable range of food availble including pizza which I ordered. When the pizza arrived it was tasty, much bigger tjan I'd expected it to be and good value for what I'd paid. The only slight downside to the pub is that the garden is the smoking area.

Been visiting this pub for Sunday lunch for several months now. The welcome is warm, the beers are great and the atmosphere is nice on a Sunday . The Sunday roasts were recommended to me by a local on a random visit having just left the train station with the pub being exactly opposite. I returned the next Sunday to try a roast dinner, and wasn't disappointed. It was beautiful. everything you would want . I visit on most Sundays now for my Sunday lunch, it's superb value and there's more than enough for the hungriest of people.

Today with my second pint I ordered a Beef Chilli from the menus offered. This order was duly acepted and paid for. However a Sunday Lunch was delivered. Although surprised I accepted the substitution. Later I pointed out to the landlady, with whom I've been on a nodding acquantance for many years, that I ought to have been notified when the order was placed. I then returned to the bar for a third pint but was refused service - I asked the barman to check with the landlady but he returned to advise me that he was unable to serve me because of a confusion over the menus. I shall not be returning to this pub in the forseeable future. Incidentally, the vegetables were undercooked!

Meeting up, last week, with my old mate of nigh on 47 years, there was only one place to go - Queens Tap! So very welcoming, as ever,! Well kept ales and very decent, value-for-money food!

We often pop in this lovely little pub if we are coming back from / going to somewhere by train as it is opposite the station, and it is always very welcoming, with kind, friendly staff & a nice atmosphere. Definitely pop in for a drink or 3 and see for yourselves. 10/10.

An excellent evening back in the Queens Tap for the annual Xmas quiz. We were very well looked after by Nikki and the team. A substantial and tasty buffet was provided which of course had to include the QT's famous chilli. Everyone enjoyed the evening and it's a credit to the team at the Queens Tap that we were able once again to meet our friends in person.

A group of 7 had our work Christmas lunch at the QT yesterday (23/11) and it was absolutely brilliant. We had pre ordered our food and it was all brought out hot and on time, with the wait staff calling for people by name (meaning I didn't have to faff about with bits of paper to identify people's orders!). All of the food was hot (where appropriate) and well presented. I had the prawn cocktail to start which was a very generous portion with the most delicious bread I've ever had! The seafood platter was next which again, was a generous portion with two fish goujons, some spicy breaded prawns (5/6 from memory) and scampi (along with chips, peas, tartare sauce and a lemon wedge). Everything was crispy and freshly cooked and tasted brilliant. We then took a break before dessert as we were all extremely full but then the Ultimate Brownie pud came out..! Warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream and strawberries. Not sure how I managed to eat all of it but it was delicious. Drinks were all reasonably priced - I had a selection of flavoured gins (from memory: blood orange, violet, strawberry and lime and Gordons pink) all of which were served quickly and with garnish. The rest of my group had a mixture of gins, wines, beers and soft drinks. Overall we had a great 4 hours at the pub with attentive bar and wait staff and the landlady made sure we were all well looked after. We will definitely be back in the new year for further team lunches :)

I know the Q T very well, and after the various lockdowns etc was looking forward to getting back there for a works Christmas lunch. I wasn’t disappointed. The welcome, the relaxed feeling and as for the food…. The food was outstanding, top notch quality and generous portions. I had a beautiful soup to start and then an amazing Christmas dinner. So good in fact that I’m organising taking my mum (I hope I can get a table!). Throughly recommend it to all, not just a place to eat but also a warm and friendly pub. My only regret is that I didn’t take a picture of the food to share! Excellent place to go.

We'd missed our train, so popped into the Queen's Tap opposite the station while waiting for the last train home. Really pleased we did as the pub had good beer (Jail Ale), very danceable live music (a band called Trinity), friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

What a horrible experience! The Moretti wasn’t fizzy. The replacement glass was dirty! The barman (blonde hair, pony tail), then went for his break and sat in the public area eating and with his phone on loud speaker! Shambles!

I have just enjoyed one of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had. It was a feast for the eyes and my only regret was that I couldn't finish it. I am sure Nikki, the owner, has a name for this delightful dish but I am calling it the Yorkshire Boat Sunday Lunch. I had the beef which was beautifully cooked and in the boat there was cauliflower cheese, mash, parsnips, peas and carrots and golden crispy roasties. Nikki, Suzi and Natalie made us feel most welcome and we shall definitely be returning to the Queens Tap for more of their fine hospitality, the next time we are in Swindon. Thankyou so much.

A spit and sawdust type of pub at the gateway to Swindon. Bar Staff are very friendly although sometimes inattentive. Plenty of screens to watch sport, although if you're a football fan the volume will be low. If you're rugby you'll have no issues hearing the commentary. I did notice to my horror that one of the fire doors was padlocked due to it being broken. I'm not an expert in law, but surely this cannot be right. I kept thinking of the film Towering Inferno & although this pub does not tower, I still made sure I was in a position where I'd be able to make good my escape in case the worse happened. The locals seemed friendly enough, although I got the impression they didn't wander far from this place to sample any delights that Swindon may have. Some of them looked in need of a good wash so I didin't get too close.I sampled one or two of the delights they had on offer & found the beer to be of a good standard although a little expensive. If you're passing through and just want a quick stop to quench your thirst this pub is OK. Just don't set your expectations too high

We have been big fans of the Queens Tap for a number of years. Great staff, good atmosphere and great location - amazing music on the right night. They recently renovated and it was a job well done without changing the feel of the place. They also introduced a decent pub food menu. This visit was a massive let down. The sun was shining and we were hopeful of a good table in the garden and bought drinks and ordered food with the intention of watching the football. Given the fact that the weather was scheduled to be hot and they like to think of themselves as a sports pub, no one had checked the outdoors tv and they could not get this to work. Not that they tried that hard. The food came and my husbands burger was great but my lasagne was chewy and had been topped with an excessive amount of Parmesan cheese. This was a dish that had been recycled and recooked. There was no argument at the bar. We were told the meals were bought in. Not an unusual thing but you can still cook them in a sensible way. It was expensive and lacking in everything we had hoped for. They lost out on providing free drinks without question and future business, which crucially is an issue. This pub gets quieter by the minute. So sad.

Rank. Blowing chunks and not because of the beer.Avoid. It's dreadful !!!

Went to Swindon as was unfortunately attending an residential course for work purposes in the middle of the sticks which means an rural setting, was tired after the rubbish overcrowded overpriced GWR train journey. So went to the pub very unhappy, highly overpriced untidy pub. Anyways got a cab from swindon station to where the training venue even the driver agreed Swindon was a dump. All there was to see was strange people, and the town was a dreary place with shabby buildings and an tired look. The driver suggested you can get emm whatever you want as we went through one part of the town. Overall was not impressed did not really want to go on the training course anyway as venue was too far and it was in the middle of an rural setting. But officially there is is nothing in Swindon to write back about. Please avoid like the plague !!!

Having been a QT regular many years ago, was pleasantly surprised to see not much had changed. Still a rowdy bunch in there, however, the landlady was not putting up with any nonsense and fired the lot of them out of the door within minutes of us arriving. Rightly so too. I'm not sure how long they were in, but were very loud and abusive towards staff.

We fancied a change from the hotel restaurant and the menu the Freke Arms offered had plenty of gluten-free options as well. We booked and received a message back quickly confirming the booking. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table promptly. Menu options were explained clearly and there were several specials on offer. The food we received was plentiful and very tasty indeed and the beer and wine were delicious. All the staff were friendly and we had a good chat about the pub as it had a bit of history. Karen and her staff went above and beyond and the service we received was first class. If we are ever in the area again we would certainly stop by the Freke Arms for a meal.
