Very strange menu nothing really to my liking and nothing for children either so it’s not somewhere to go with family…… ok ale but the menu needs to be bigger & nothing for a vegetarian my wife has recently become vegetarian for health reasons so we couldn’t eat here & don’t think we will return
I haven’t been to this pub for many years, but was pleasantly surprised. At first, when you see the dual menu of traditional pub food and then the menu of Himalayan food, you might think what? But this really works. There were nine of us eating at 5:30pm on a Thursday. It seems many people had the same idea, because the place was pleasantly busy. This meant that we had to perhaps wait a little longer for our food than at quieter times, but we didn’t really notice because we felt so welcome and were enjoying a catch up and a couple of drinks. Some ordered from the traditional menu and some from the Himalayan. All food was of good quality, hot and looked and tasted great. I had the fish and chips, and the cod was exceptionally good with a light crisp batter. I even enjoyed the mushy peas and I don’t usually! The staff were absolutely lovely and made for a super relaxed evening. The prices are extremely good value. We have already arranged our next visit, and when word gets around there will hopefully be a few more of us then.
We visited for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. From the moment we arrived we were looked after. The staff were very friendly and kept checking if we needed anything. The hotel itself was lovely, clean and had a good atmosphere. The afternoon tea was delicious!! Everything was fresh and a lovely selection of cakes. We would recommend to anyone and we will definitely visit again!
We had a family meal last night . There were twelve of us , the service food and atmosphere was fantastic . The Sunday to Thursday special offer was well received . Some of the party were new to Asian cuisine they had an opportunity to try different dishes. The birthday girl was spoilt rotten by Ali and the team. The cake and the flaming candles went down a treat with everyone in the restaurant. We look forward to another be together at the Kyber very soon . Thanks all 👍
Yet again an amazing experience here. A busy Saturday night yet the staff were so attentive and focused on customer service. We tried different meals to other visits and were not disappointed. Excellent food, a great atmosphere and an excellent customer experience. It may only be my third time there but 10/10 to all the staff at The Khyber
I’ve been told by many people that this was the place to go for fish and chips in Swindon, and they were right! Just wished I’d started coming here earlier. This place is the best by a mile, and I’ve eaten in the majority of fish and chip shops in Swindon so you can take it from me. The only thing that lets them down is they don’t take card payments in the shop, but you can pay online and order ahead.
The fish is lovely (cod), good portion size in lovely crispy batter. The chips were thick cut and crispy (loads of scrumps too) and the curry sauce is the best I’ve had since my local in Greenmeadow changed hands from Mandarin Fish Bar to Fish and Chips @ Greenmeadow. I don’t give out 5 scores for much but this place thoroughly deserves it. The shop itself is nothing to look at, but the best ones always are. It’s tucked away down off of Groundwell Road, a proper old fashioned establishment in amongst Swindon’s old terraced houses. Staff are friendly and managed to arrange 12 orders seamlessly and all correct.
In summary, it’s the best around for me. Worth the drive from any part of town.
Food was good. Young girl serving however, was stroppy, arrogant & downright rude. Didn't listen to our requests on the food & almost slamed the dishes onto the table.
