Gone really down hill. Used to visit occasionally with Friends and Children so they could play in the park whilst the adults were close by and could eat. Visited today, the park is half empty - the equipment has been removed and there were bigger kids kicking a football around (hard!) in its place meaning it is unsafe for any little kids now. Obviously their parents were nowhere to be seen and clearly couldn't care less. Almost hit my two year old in the face as we walked in!. We decided to go elsewhere and wont be returning.
An exceptional evening with friends that had flown in from Florida that day, the food was cooked to perfection, I had the Miso Cod which was fantastic, the service was impeccable, such a relaxing and enjoyable evening.

Good customer service but items are over-priced, like the bottled drinks, and bottles seemed to be old stock when I was there a couple of times. The last time I walked out without buying a drink, based on price and closeness to use by date. If I check again, I will update the review. Millionaires/Caramel shortbread I think was also pricey and not that satisfying.
What a farce! I was so looking forward to having a lovely meal with my family, but the incompetence and rudeness of the staff completely ruined my visit! I have a list...
1 , before you give out the menu know what's available and what's not .
2 , have suitable options and if a error has occurred at the least show empathy instead of making the customer feel like they are being awkward.
3, if the customer gives you a dietary requirement, please do not bring out somthing which is not suitable fir them, and if they try and make your job easier by instead of sending the product back handing it to another family member , maybe don't include that item against their order , but allow it for a complimentary option , seeming it was the error of the kitchen.
4, when issuing the bill at least double check that the item which was not available, is not left on the bill .
5 , when the customer lets you know and explains that the meal they had and the service was not what is considered "good service" then the response given is "we are all human and it's a small mistake"
6 , then the staff member takes the bill away and takes forever to return it with not so much as a polite smile , but a real crappy attitude.
7, just maybe Fox and Hounds compensate for your mistakes and work on training a certain female staff member what good customer service looks like????
Second visit to the Royal Oak… first time for food (Sunday Roast)
Lovely warm greeting by the owner and bar staff, great service and good food…an absolute gem of place and a throwback to times when people cared!
Thank you so much.
We have struggled to find a good Chinese restaurant. I much prefer to eat at a table with fresh food than to take home a takeaway. We don’t live close but from time to time come into town. Tonight thought we’d try this one. Decor is impressive. Menus interesting. We both chose dishes we know really to work out whether this was good food. Everything we ordered was really good, top quality, good portions. We were very happy. Next time we will try some of the dishes that are new to us. This is not cheap Chinese food so maybe a bit more expensive than you might expect but I think worth it. They add service charge, totally acceptable,
This place is a joke, the food is not Chinese but some sort of home made mess.
I ordered a chow mein and what turned up was far from that. Instead of the traditional flat style noodles they had used supper noodles, no bean sprouts just what looked like it had come straight out of a plastic pot.
We had ordered other dishes but every dish was the same and drenched in sweet and sour sauce. Great if you have ordered sweet and sour but if not then its a bit disappointing to say the least.
Would avoid this place like the plague
I stay in the Hilton Swindon weekly and every single time I eat at their in-house restaurant 14Twelve Brasserie. There is always a good variety of food and the staff are always so welcoming.
Jason one of the managers recommended one of their specials, a lovely Beef Brisket with mash, vegetables and gravy. A really tasty and hearty meal that i highly recommend and would definitely have again.
Ordered pizzas, sides and a drink of coca cola. Received a bottle of Morrison's own brand coke. Made the phone call and the guy had a disgusting attitude"the price is the price" now I wouldn't have minded paying 'the Price' but I live 2 minutes from Morrison's and it's not 'the Price' at all I have paid 3 pounds for a bottle of own brand cola that's is under a pound in the shop. I order every friday but will going elsewhere in future
