Hakka2 in Swindon

Yummy starter, about an hour gap before side dishes came out, and another wait before mains arrived. Main course was disappointing. Think I’d rather go to hong xin for £50, instead of spending £100 at Hakka2. Sorry guys.

We've ate many times here over the last 2 years and always had great food and service. However the last twice we've been have been bad due to the addition of a karaoke room. If you're offering karaoke the room needs to be sound proofed well. It is not here. So well you're having your meal in the restaurant the wailing from the karaoke room mixed with the music in the restaurant does not promote a good ambience. On our latest visit the staff were actually using the karaoke so there was no service in the restaurant. I would suggest that unless the karaoke is making you a fortune you should close it and save your restaurant as no one is coming to eat here with that racket going on. We complained to the manager but he was not bothered.

Excellent food (as always). Visited to eat and see a Lady Gaga tribute act, which was also fantastic. Can’t fault the food and ambience of this place.

My first visit here and was pleasantly surprised that the food has improved from what this place was before, however the portions were just a little bit smaller than I'd like for the price you pay, although it was nice. So good, but not great x

At the end of the meal few morsals were left and I found a pea size pebble in between my teeth. it was awful and had tooth ache. they gave me a discount for this £2.44 only. I will not go again here.

Had home delivery first time from here the food is really good taste like old school Chinese like it should with out MSG and other added stuffers but the only thing that let the meal down was the bag with the chicken balls that was a bit to Greasy seeping through on to Everything else but apart from that the food is spot on I will Oder again definitely

Excellent food, good value, would happily come here again. Dined here due to being in Swindon on business and was not disappointed. Will definitely be here next time I’m in town.

This is usually my go-to restaurant for Chinese home delivery, but I thought for my birthday we would go to the restaurant and eat early so we could then watch the England Euro 2024 game. It was quiet when we arrived as it was only mid week at 6:15pm but it did get busier. We all ordered soups for starters with the addition of salt and pepper ribs, then all ordered mains with a side and a few extra vegtable dishes. My great niece also had room for a dessert, whereas the rest of us were stuffed with three takeaway cartons filled as well. Accompanying beers for my nephew and I and his daughters had the 2-for-1 cocktails. Very good would recommend. And will be ordering again.

We visited on a Sunday evening and were looking forward to our meal. Ordered dumplings and gyoza. The gyoza arrived with little sign of cooking (expecting a lovely crisp outside) and were cold inside. These were sent back. Main course, ordered 4 dishes. Noodles and veg turned up in good time and were nice. Waited ages for the braised pork belly and it was very chewy, not very braised. Chased my wife’s crispy chicken and waited, waited, waited. After we finished our meal an anemic chicken dish finally arrived. As we had finished our meal we refused this dish. I was mystified why, when there were only 8 people in the restaurant, we would get such poor service. Spoke with the manager who, after agreeing to remove the chicken and gyoza from our bill as we had not eaten anything, explained that they had been busy on the takeaway side. Leaving customers in their restaurant to random service? I would avoid this place as they do not value their restaurant custom. Perhaps they should close the restaurant and continue to concentrate on take-aways.

Our first time at HAKKA2 and we were in awe. Service was exemplary, staff were brilliantly friendly and attentive....as for the food ....well, it exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend and will be there dining again shortly.

This is the best takeaway Chinese in the area. First time we have tried here as we have just moved to the area. The food was amazing, freshly cooked, sauces superb, portions very good - will be back!

Good classic Chinese food with good specials , better than any Chinese locally , and quick good service , will come back in the evening

Food was very nice but I felt the portions to be large many people were taking their leftovers home the restaurant is lovely clean staff very welcoming .. I am still a big fan of the swindon Rendezvous Chinese as you can order a choice of smaller portions but still worth a visit

We left the Wyvern Theatre after 9.30pm and headed to the high street for some food. Hakka 2 was lit up like a Christmas tree so we were immediately lured to it. It’s just a stone throw from the theatre. We were immediately welcomed by the staff and placed at a lovely table near the window. They explained that the kitchen would close at 10pm so best to order starters and main together. This was understandable for a Wednesday evening. The staff were extremely attentive and very chatty. They couldn’t have done more for us. Drinks were delivered promptly and the food followed soon after. We asked for a selection of starters. They were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The duck wraps were particularly good. We had a lovely evening chatting amongst ourselves and the other tables. Thank you Hakka for a lovely experience- we will be back. Excellent food and service

More expensive than most Chinese restaurants in the town, but definitely worth it! Food was lovely and service great. Was always a fan of Rendezvous but feel that’s gone downhill lately. Not convinced this restaurant is in the right location, but really good food and will definitely be going again.

We visited Hakka 2 together with a large number of customers who were attending a concert at the nearby Wyvern Theatre. It is a nicely appointed restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. The food was delivered in timely fashion and looked amazing in the dishes. The smell from the food was very tempting. All four dishes we selected were perfectly cooked and packed full of Asian flavours. A great Asian restaurant in the centre of Swindon.

Overpriced cocktails. Overpriced BLAND food. Rude waiter who was rushing around when there was only 2 other tables to serve apart from ours. Hmmm… The decor is great… However, I would have rather gone to NANDOS and spend half the price and received triple the amount of food. Will never come back. EVER. If you’re craving Asian food, just get a pot noodle!

Went out to the restaurant, absolutely loved it.. Stylish, great food and staff amazing. Things we didn't understand were explained. First time had dim sims. Will be having again. The hot and sour soup was delicious. Will go back

Warm welcome when entering the restaurant. Which is very clean and has lovely décor . Staff friendly and helpful. Food was fabulous, as was the cocktails. We are arranging another visit in January.

This chinese is nicely done out and offers some interesting dishes . Swindon as a whole is bereft of quality Chinese restaurants the once glorious Rendezvous is a shadow of itself , this place offers great quality chinese different dishes in a nice restaurant. Its not the cheapest so if you want massive plate fulls of rubbish stick with the Rendezvous . If you want a bit of quality try here. I am not going to comment on the takeaway element as I find chinese sweats in plastic containers and isn't as nice but the sit-down has been excellent 3 times now

We keep returning and are amazed every time. Fantastic food always lovely service. The food is amazing and never disappoints. We've dined here as a group for a celebration, just q quick dinner, ti celebrate Chinese New year amd are already booked again. All our friends have also returned after dining there with us too! Exceptionally good.

Have eaten here several times. Firstly the restaurant is beautifully appointed, quality furnishings, decorations etc. The menu is great too...any kind of traditional Chinese food can be served with multiple options. There is also Malaysian food and dim sum. Staff are super attentive and focused on the customer. I would thoroughly recommend Hakka 2 as the best Chinese restaurant in Swindon and will definitely return.

The decor is amazing, the staff are very friendly and last but not least the food is lush. This was my third visit and we will be going again soon!

Felt surprised by this fab restaurant . It's not in the best location. But the decor is lovely and the staff very efficient and friendly. The food was delicious. All served hot and very flavourful. Generous portion sizes and great value for money.

We ordered takeaway from Hakka2, having seen friends who ate here and said it was good. Food arrived hot and very fresh. Everything tasted great. Particular mention about the satay.. not your usual heavy creamy sauce, was different and so very very tasty. We tried...
