Normally excellent food, but tonight very disappointing, Beef Curry only had four pieces of Beef, Chicken Satay Skewers were very dry I could have resoled my shoes with the Chicken ! and the Egg Fried Rice certainly didn’t contain any Eggs, not sure what it was !! Not sure if we will be a returning Customer the Jury is out at the moment. Decided we are not going back, we now order from Eat Well in Gorse Hill Excellent Quality Food and Great Value for Money.

Very disappointed, it has normally been very good. The meal was nearly an hour late. The Chow Mein normally very good the meat in it this time was tough and tasteless. The sweet and sour prawns were awful

First time trying since new management, Friendly front of house, tasty food and fast delivery. Really enjoyed the Thai green curry and Singapore rice noodles, yummy pancake rolls. Will be back again soon.

5 massive stars from me, from start to finish, from efficient ordering system, delivery on time with very friendly service & deliciously tasty Chinese food, it deserves nothing less than 5 perfect stars!!

Fantastic flavoured food, great choice. Myself and my family were very happy with our choice of takeaway, will definitely not go anywhere else for our Chinese food. Will be back soon.

Good food and a great deal with the Emperors Special. In my opinion Emperors Kitchen do the best chow mein. A definite go-to when wanting a Chinese. Would recommend and will order again in the future.

Food is late. Usually tastes ok. Just noticed that they charge both a delivery charge and a "service" charge. What's that about? Seems to be a money grabbing attempt.

Best Chinese in Swindon. Order from this place regularly for me and my grandparents. I love their special fried rice and the chips in szechwan sauce. Furthermore, its one of the only places in Swindon that actually accept card. So many Chinese takeaways don't accept card in Swindon. Most bad reviews seem to be people who also ordered here for years and had gripes recently. I did notice a rough patch too, but it is better now.

I ordered a delivery of food from these guys last night for my friend and I and once again I wasn't disappointed. Emperors Kitchen offers the best Chinese food in my opinion and I've ordered from them on numerous occasions. Their chicken chow mein, beef with green pepper in black bean sauce and the Szechuan spare ribs are absolutely delicious 😋. On ordering I was informed that the food may take up to an hour to be delivered but it was definitely worth the wait. It was delivered by a very smiley polite young man and it was nice and hot. I would highly recommend Emperors Kitchen to anyone considering a Chinese takeaway.

Not sure whether they've changed their chef or not but our food tonight was horrible & had to be thrown away! We had exactly the same as what we would normally have but tonight there was a totally different taste to it & it was disgusting. Won't be going back there anytime soon!!

Been ordering take away from this place for years. The last take away we bought from here wasn’t up to the usual standard, but we assumed it was a glitch. Unfortunately it wasn’t and tonight’s take away was probably the worst I’ve ever tasted. I’m not sure but it did cross my mind that the this take away had been taken over by others. Who knows, but I can’t support a take away with the poor quality of tonight’s meal (king prawn curry, rice, chips and prawn cracker). 1hr 40 minutes for a meal with reheated chips, nearly cold curry and rice and stale tasting prawn crackers. What a fall in standards from previous years offerings. Tonight’s meal has definitely helped us decide not to order from this place again. A shame when things go to pot, but they either need to give up or sort out their food quality, disappointed customer.

Sorry, just had a delivery and the chow mein was sloppy and not a lot of flavour, sweet and sour wasn't much better, don't think I would go there again, need a refund

We have been going to Emperor’s Kitchen for years and it’s always been brilliant, however the food we had today was not only the worst Emperor’s Kitchen I’ve ever had, but probably the worst Chinese take away I’ve ever had. The chilli beef was like chewing leather, the chicken dry and tasteless, and the noodles had very little noodles and more bean sprouts than anything else. Unfortunately we’ve been coming here for a long time, but I doubt we will return back. Not sure what’s changed but certainly not for the better!

Order the food they told me 1h I accept 2h later still no delivery.😪

I'm giving 1 star as I can't give 0 stars House special rice consists of rice and peas with hardly any meat. The ribs were just bone with no meat on them. Extreamly over priced. Turned up an hour late. I would never use again would advise you stay away. Now im gonna go and order a pizza.

Ordered thru uber. One item was crispy lamb with pancakes. Lamb was so dry I couldn't even chew it so called and they promised a refund. Refund was never received. Disappointing. If you want good Chinese food - Lee's in Peatmoor is the place to go. Great portions, great customer service and definitely value for money! Sadly they were shut and we fancied Chinese food. Never again!

Absolutely the smallest portions I have ever seen.. Barely any meat on the dishes.. I will never order again..

I ordered food and the special chow mein wasnt even mixed together the meat and sauce was just put on top the chow mein and the special curry was awful lots mushrooms and onion and 3 or 4 pieces of meat absolutely disgusting wont order again

Funny, Chinese take away restaurant and they don't have chopsticks. But the special chow mein was good.

Finally, I found decent HK food in Sutton! It was fresh and perfectly cooked, nothing mushy, great flavour, good ratio of vegetables to meat, no chewy beef either! Authentic recipe and ingredients. Friendly staff, extra chilli oil no problem.

I have used the Emperors Kitchen on many occasions and find it to be by far the best Chinese Take away in Swindon and possibly the best ever. The food is excellent, the Singapore Noodles are amazing. The staff are exceptionally friendly and courteous, both over the phone and at the door when they deliver. I would totally recommend the Emperors Kitchen with no reservations whatsoever. The menu is extensive and nothing that I have tried has disappointed.

Tried this one for the first time as our usual Chinese restaurant had an 1.5hr wait. I was a bit dubious about ordering after reading the reviews but I have to say it was lovely! And actually better than our usual takeaway in Commercial Road. They said 45 minute wait but it arrived in 15mins. Will definitely be ordering again.

Ordered from here this evening, took an hour and a half to deliver some rice, shredded chicken and chips. The chips were wet! and they tatsed like they had been re heated twice, absolutely disgusting, worst chips I've ever had. Would not recommend.

Until new management took over, this place was lovely. Great food, lovely staff. Tonight, the rudest girl on the counter taking orders (blonde hair) snappy when asked about dishes on the menu, resulting in us having slops!! Watery curry with no taste, satay chicken in a dish of peanut water, disgusting, especially when chicken satay is on a skewer dry !!! Awful customer service, awful food, I won't be back...

Well was a 5 star 🌟 however the food was nothing short of slops the attitude on the young blond girl behind the counter was disgusting felt like I was irritating her whilst I was Odering she wasn't helpful at all the place has gone down hill! The curry was like dish water and the chicken satay was 🤢 won't be going here again just vile

The food was nice however not all items ordered and paid for arrived. When we called up we were accused of lying and laughed at!

My Partner and I ordered the following : Singapore Fried Rice Szechuan Sensation Fried Mushrooms in Black Bean Sauce Chicken Chow Mein Prawn Crackers Now, here is the description of the Szechuan Sensation from their website : "A4. Szechuan Sensation Hot and spicy. Mixed meat and prawn cooked with Szechuan sauce" And to be fair, that is exactly what it was...a couple of bits of old, tough meat and a single, lonely, solitary dried up prawn...I think they must've given me the diet version as there wasn't much substance to the dish. The Fried Mushrooms in Black Bean Sauce was just a salty, thin liquid with mushrooms that resembled sun baked slugs. The Chow Mein was average at best and the Singapore Fried Rice was nothing to write home about, a few strands of chicken in some very lightly spiced rice. So, in addition to the poor quality of the food and the small portion sizes (apart from the rice) the overwhelming taste and texture of the food was just greasy and very, very salty.

I've used this take away for many years and the food has always been really good but I've had 2 half size portions in the last month ! Time to look elsewhere I'm afraid

Chicken in the chicken balls was dry, too much soy sauce in the chow mein they shouldnt be nearly black... only good thing was the spring rolls...

usually good but seems like cheaper ingredients used? spring roll tough because pre cooked and heated up, shredded beef more like shreaded leather, kung po ? no spice .. veg ok ... need to buy better meats and go back to how it used to be ...

Order food this evening collect it myself the food was awful chicken curry was running no flavour, chicken chow main was dry and burnt, rice was over cooked spring rolls was just batter the only thing was ok was the kong po chicken and chicken balls paid nearly £25 what a waste of money never again will I use this place.

My husband and I ordered some egg fried rice, some sweet and sour Hong Kong style chicken and some chicken chow mein......there was hardly any egg in the egg fried rice and no soy sauce whatsoever, the chicken was chewy in the sweet and sour chicken and the chicken chow mein had about 6/7 bits of chicken in it!!! If they are going to advertise this dish as "chicken" chow mein, then we would suggest that they actually put some chicken it!!! We are not happy that we paid £15.99 for such poor quality food 😢 I have attached a photo of the chow mein showing the lack of chicken!!!! I also messaged the take away and at first got no response, so I advised them I would leave a review and they then sent a message offering me 10% off my meal (what next meal?? - Not a chance!)

Disgusting food , worse Chinese I have ever eaten .frozen chips cooked in cheap oil , pancake rolls made but then dipped in batter ! Avoid

Been a big fan of this place over the Years but after making a return was shocked fo find how bad this place is now .We all got a chow mein and it was covered in soy sause and when I say covered I mean it .there was so much I thought we had ordered soup.None of us finished it because it was that bad .The chicken balls we had were ok but instead of the 12 we used to get there was only 8 .overall a bad meal and we .won't go there again and please no one get a choiw mein!

I had the smoked shredded chicken with egg fried rice and spring rolls, all was amazing. My boyfriend had the Szechuan chicken which he enjoyed even though it burnt his tongue but he loves spice. He also had spicy salt and garlic chicken wings which were meant to be spicy but apparently they weren’t. This is my favourite Chinese so will definitely be ordering again :)

Why did I get charged service charge 50p and delivery charge of £3 when menu clearly states free delivery orders over £10 and no mention of service charge???????

Overall the experience was terrible. The food took 2 hours from order to delivery, was stone cold upon arrival, and was below average at best. If you’re looking for quick, nice food, AVOID THE EMPEROR’S KITCHEN AT ALL COSTS!

Great food, very bad customer service, doesn't apologise nor offer you an excuse for delivery mistake. Edit : 4 orders spread over three months, 4 orders messed up by either missing an item or giving the wrong ones entirely. Thank god just eat customer service helps... If you like wasting 1h of your time claiming for a refund when your food gets cold, that Chinese is for you...

We have highly recommended empires kitchen on many occasions especially to family and friends.. The food has been brilliant in the past ... We haven't ordered for a few months and im shocked 😲 The rice, noodles and certain dishes are soooo salty its disgusting The satay chicken and chicken balls for the kids were raw 🤢🤢🤢 Some of the things we ordered didn't arrive... I cant believe how awful the food was we will not be ordering again

When ordering the earliest delivery time was 75 minutes (which is bad enough when hungry) but then the food didn’t arrive for a further 20 minutes. The driver apologised but the food was Luke warm and had to be reheated.

Lovely food as always. there was a mix up with the delivery time meaning it was an hour late. Not ideal but they were apologetic on delivery and applied for a refund through Just Eat for me. The next day this was processed and I got half the piece of my order back. Mistakes happen but they dealt with it really well

Food was on time and very nice.

After taking an hour and a half to turn up, there was no apology. I repeatedly tried calling with no answer. The prawn crackers were missing, the chips were soggy and the chow mein was flavourless. All of the food was cold when delivered. I was really disappointed with this as usually it’s lovely.

Disgraceful food! Come really fast just 25 minutes delivery time. But the chow main and special fried rice smelt rotten and tasted rotten. Neither me or my partner could eat it they definitely had out of date meat in it had been left out in the warmth for to long before being cooked as it was definitely gone off. The restaurant then refused to refund for the rice or chow main after I spent £25 on food and could only eat the chips and curry sauce.

Food was lovely bit the service was very slow. Order at 1600 restaurant said food would be ready by 1750 got there and they forgotten about me.

Cold food took 2 hrs to come forgot bottle of drink when calling was told could have it next order ! Spent £46 won’t be going back asked for it to be sent 1 hr later still not here !

Food came slightly earlier than expected but can only assume this is due to it being last Wednesdays left overs as the food was diabolical. Freezing cold, the spring rolls were an odd grey colour and were solid. chilli beef was like leather. The only things edible were the mushrooms. Over £30 straight in the bin. never again. DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY!

Ordered chicken balls, mainly batter. Sesame prawn toast, taste a little funny, mini spring rolls were an odd colour. Rice and prawn crackers were fine. Delivery was late.

Food was OK but quite expensive. The £5.30 S&S chicken balls had twice as much batter as chicken and they were not crisp - the lemon chicken was overcooked and stringy/tough. The vegetable dishes were nice, although most dishes were oversalted. The chips were inedible, cold and tasteless. Pancake rolls were good but again, overbattered. Food prep time was 20 minutes which was excellent for collection.

I was told order would be delivered at 8.10pm so I walked the dog first,it turned up at 7.40pm it was lucky my son came home to take the order in.
