Food was good. Young girl serving however, was stroppy, arrogant & downright rude. Didn't listen to our requests on the food & almost slamed the dishes onto the table.

In a town devoid of character and warmth this coffee house is a beacon of hope to the rest of the dying town.. warm friendly staff, all the staff have an "it's a pleasure never a chore " attitude towards their customers...

Homely and warming decor. Great coffee and cakes. Lovely staff members. Down to earth manager. Always clean and tidy. Staff make you feel at home and will recognise you as a regular. The only downside is sometimes they can be rude if not dam strange people In here at times, but that is just from being positioned on a main walk through. Staff always handle disruptive customers appropriately and can still smile when it's done. I'm here a few times a week.

I like Coffee#1 mainly as it has some coffees from different parts of the world to try. Good selection of all the other items you would expect and a nice relaxed ambiance to the café.

Went in during the incredible April heatwave over the Easter weekend. Everything looked clean, and well maintained. We've come in before, early last year and things have definitely improved since then which is nice to see. We were served by a man with dyed silvery/blonde hair and glasses. He was very polite and interacted with my daughter (2yr old) which was nice. I normally have a mint mocha chip, but as it was boiling I didn't really know what to have and was recommended a Chocolate Frappe with a shot of coffee. Server clearly knows that parents are in there for the caffeine! Found the seats, tables and highchairs to be very clean and in good condition. The decor was the standard coffee#1 look and feel. Rustic. It's very relaxing and gives off a great ambience for a coffee shop. Staff kept on top of clearing tables very quickly and were interacting with customers which is nice to see. Coffee#1 is definitely one of my favourite coffee shops, I'm really not sure how Costa beat them for coffee shop of the year.

Coffee was good and nicely decorated but grumpy staff. Lady serving me called Sir about 5-6 times and towards the end I was feeling frustrated as it sounded rude and robotic.

Nice environment to this coffee shop, a change to the usual Costa/Starbucks, with friendly welcoming staff. My flat white was not expensive, but unfortunately had a bit of a harsh edge to it. They did serve a good millionaire shortbread.

Our high street are full of coffee houses these days professing to have the best coffee but the bottom line is it needs to be roasted properly. I thought Id try one more high street coffee outlet as all the other big names fail on the Espresso front for me. So how did Coffee 1 fare for me. Welcoming staff and the price point wasn't an issue here, it was the Espresso was yet again disappointing . It was really bitter. A classic sign of being over roasted. Now Im not sure if these guys roast in house or just buy it in pre roasted, either way it needs sorting I reckon. This is my opinion as an avid Espresso drinker and you might find your coffee bean roasting experience less insipid than mine.....

An excellant little find in Swindon this coffee shop decorated so nice with a seaside feeling and reminding me of the Australian coffee themes I have seen down under. Welcoming staff are very helpful and knowledgable. Excellant selection of toasties, sandwiches and drinks plus muffins to die for. I now have this place on my re-visit list after having met friends there on many occasions. A mixture of low table seating and side higher rise tables and seating. Easy access to the disabled toilet.

We called in for coffee and tried the special which was I think from Honduras. To my surprise, it did taste better than the run of the mill stuff and was very nice. The place was tidy, the staff were good and there were some interesting looking snacks. Worth a look.

As a regular visitor to the Swindon branch of Coffee#1 I am very satisfied with the consistently good service here - I usually stop off for breakfast at the weekend; as I am lactose intolerant I enjoy the dairy free drinks on offer. Recently I was most impressed that a member of staff offered me a dairy free alternative for my porridge, and thoughtfully also asked if I would like my maple syrup in a separate jug or poured directly onto the porridge - it is unusual to encounter waiting staff with this attention to detail and the presence of mind to ask the customer. They do not mind when I request that my drink is made extra hot so that it is still a pleasant temperature by the time I have finished eating. Another noteworthy point is that the cakes and pastries on the counter are covered with a cellophane film for hygiene purposes and the cafe is always very clean and tidy - altogether a refreshingly high standard of customer care that ensures I keep returning - well done Coffee#1 Swindon!

Besides the UK I have lived in the US and continental Europe, where I have tried a huge amount of coffee shops, but I would argue that Coffee#1 Swindon is the best one I have ever been. I go there regularly and the staff is always super friendly, the latte is always delicious and creamy (thank you Joey for the fantastic latte in the morning), the music is relaxing and the interior design is cosy. I am a great fan of Coffee#1 in general, but I would say that Coffee#1 Swindon excels even among other Coffee#1 coffee shops.

Coffee was good even if I did have to tell them how to make a cortado! Music not too loud and the decor etc quite relaxing. Staff seemed preoccupied and ugly hand written signs on the fridge don't help to make a professional image.

The coffee was so good an actually hot! But I think the food is very over priced. It would be better with more choice of pastries. That is just my opinion my husband thought it was ok.

I have been to Coffee No. 1 Swindon on a couple of occasions recently and each time I have not been disappointed or had cause for complaint. The decor of the Swindon shop is a pleasant mix of vintage and industrial, with ample seating including a spacious upstairs seating area. Throughout, the cafe is clean and tidy with the serving tables well-stocked with utensils and condiments. The toilets are also well-maintained and tidy, which leaves a favourable impression.

I walked about the main centre and decided that rather than going with the normal coffee shops to give Coffee#1 a go. Really nice coffee, tasty tea cakes, polite staff and pleasant ambiance. There's a decent selection - foods, juices, frappes and smoothies. Good thumbs up.

The staff are friendly and very efficient and the atmosphere and deco is nice. I had a breakfast smoothie that was okay, but my egg and spinach muffin was a bit soggy. I would go back but wouldn't order these items again. There are lots of choices on the menu so I'm sure I can find something I like, and then I could easily add another star to my rating.

I normally have a lovely experience,i am used to the lovely focused staff and incredible drinks however, the staff that was serving on the 4th of june were unfocused, chatting to each other which left me and other customers waiting for about 10 mins, took them ages to make as they were chatting and gossiping! i normally don’t like writing reviews but felt this was necessary:/ photo is supposed to be a mint choc chip frostino 🤦♀️

We fancied a change from the hotel restaurant and the menu the Freke Arms offered had plenty of gluten-free options as well. We booked and received a message back quickly confirming the booking. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table promptly. Menu options were explained clearly and there were several specials on offer. The food we received was plentiful and very tasty indeed and the beer and wine were delicious. All the staff were friendly and we had a good chat about the pub as it had a bit of history. Karen and her staff went above and beyond and the service we received was first class. If we are ever in the area again we would certainly stop by the Freke Arms for a meal.
