Coleslaw was bland, macaroni cheese tasted of flour and the portion was tiny. £20 for a beef rib dish and there was about 150g of beef on the plate. Shocking
Tried this place last night and it was incredible, the owner helped me pick a dish and it was the best pasta I'd ever had! The staff were so lovely, decent prices and the decor is really nice too, would highly recommend
Lovely family friendly pub, dog friendly with a puppy station with blankets, treats and water. Outdoor garden area with tv. Pool table. Lovely food and served fast. Lovely staff.
Hardworking friendly new owner. Traditional uk cafe fayre at VERY reasonable prices. My son has just moved in around the corner and we have been using the cafe a fair bit while renovating his home. The food and welcome is great. Would definitely recommend. They even do traditional sunday roasts to eat in or take away.
Great pub with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Good selection on the taps, not terrible pricing. Good sized car park and beer garden. No complaints!

So disappointed, would not recommend the roast dinner. It was the blandest and driest pub roast we have ever had. I hate leaving a bad review but this was so disappointing. I am not one to even add salt and pepper to my meals normally but there was absolutely no flavour in any part of the meal- the gravy was runny and bland, roast potatoes and chicken was dry and tasteless and the single half a carrot was a bit on the stingy side. 6 of us had a mixture of the beef and chicken, all had the same opinion. Such a shame!! They were dog friendly however which was nice and the pub itself is a beautiful spot, a drink in the summer sun would be lovely and we will definitely return for that!
Booked online for Sunday lunch middle of the week, only to arrive today and after waiting ages for our order to be taken then told no Sunday lunch available. Asked to see the manager she told us various excuses the place was not busy at all then someone else's asked for Sunday lunch and they were told differently that a party of 12 walked in at 12.30 and took all the lunch. I have had Sunday lunch on 3 occasions before and never had a problem I'm sorry I won't be going to eat at your restaurant again I wouldn't of minded if we had been told the truth.
Website says opens at 11 but its actually 12, so we decided to sit in the beer garden & chat. Then the lovely lady working behind the bar came out & asked us did we want to order drinks. She booted up the coffee machine for us which was very kind. Inside is lovely, coffee was nice. Food looked immense but we didn't eat. Def ve back for a Sunday roast!
We always get our fish and chips from Frydays as they are the best in Yate. Tonight however we were very disappointed. The large Cod, which is very expensive was smaller than small!!!! We will not buy from here again and will try another local fish and chip shop....any recommendations will be very welcome
Been coming here for over 26 years. What the hell has happened over the last 4 years. Can’t be arsed to repeat myself, the food is great, the staff are young and disinterested. So many diners were vocalising what we were saying. The chef is ace, the staff really, really are letting you down. You used to be so good.
