A lovely experience and friendly staff well priced drinks too

The Star was my local in the early seventies, it was very friendly and did great food, so whilst out on my bike I thought I'd go for a drink and lunch. The sign on the door said "a warm welcome to everyone". Apart from a good morning on entry it felt like a doctor's waiting room. The six guys taking up the bar space were non communicative and there was no food on offer. I drank my pint and left. Shan't go back.

Had a bad experience with the people that go to this pub, classic ignorants/racists type of people. I will never go back, but the people at the counter were cool. One of the resident's pub dog pissed on my bag and the owmer instead of apologies to me, him and his friends were very rude and threatening me. Very bad feeling

Very good fish and chips large portion fed me and my husband although I only bought a small chips and regular cod. Batter lovely. Chips just how I like them not bloody frozen rubbish. The owner us foreign not sure what nationality definitely white European. As a lot of non-English he is a bit reserved. Running the place alone. Good luck to you Sir I'll be back although I live in Yate if I'm close I'll drop in.

I've been using this take-away for years, but the quality of the food has really dropped recently. I've tried to persevere but they're really hopeless at the moment. For example, the duck dishes used to give a nice tender duck breast carved up and served with a tasty sauce, but now they just provide scraps of skin and gristle. I'm going to stop using them until I hear that they've changed the chef or made some other major change. Really disappointed.

I've not long been living in Yate, so I've been looking for a good Chinese takeaway. Although this one wasn't terrible, it at the same time wasn't great. I ordered a chicken curry with chips. The curry sauce lacked and flavour and was very bland. It was almost paste consistency and had zero spice/heat. The chicken was frozen, processed cubes, and lacked any flavour, too. The chips were ender done, and the bigger chips were still a little raw and soggy inside. It's wasnt a terrible experience, but not great. Will try again with a different dish and see what happens. ⭐️⭐️from me.

I loved my lamb dhansak and my children loved their chicken Kormas. Lots of really nice meat and they were probably the best curries we've had in a long time. My wife's Biryani was also good but like most places it really could do with more sauce. The peshawari naan's weren't very tasty and the sag paneer wasn't to our taste. We'll definitely be back but will probably try a different naan and side next time.

Not the experience that you would expect at an "awarded" restaurant as advertised. Soup was very watery and with no much taste. 2 mini arancini ( the size of a grape each, no exaggeration), this was a shock, an insult to serve (£ 6.50). Ok on the menu it's in the small plate section, but what was served is literally an 'amuse bouche'. Venison excellent, very well balanced flavours Rump steak nicely presented and meat tender and tasty! Standard caramel tart. Service was polite but very slow, with not much attention to customers needs...had to wait 20 min to order a dessert, and remind for water top up several times.

Not eaten in here and only ever been in drinking. always a decent place to meet friends and have a pint. been done up a few times before and since being re-named back to the Trident from the Leap. a good pub.,

Popped in for a takeaway breakfast this morning on my way home from work. The young lady that served me was very welcoming and friendly, the food didn't take long and i have to say it was the best breakfast i've had in a long time. Will defo be going back again.

I didn't like the chips they didn't taste right have decided to leave the party maybe for later

They were extremely busy but we got served very quickly and managed to get a lovely table outside. The food was delicious and we didn't wait long. The staff seemed to really be happy there! It's a beautiful setting, what a find! Well done to you guys!
