Mughal Palace in South Gloucestershire

We went to dinner, three couples. The place is average. The food is delicious, but it's unpleasant. Someone should immediately take a look at the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The smell of urine was unpleasant and nauseating, and I doubt it was hygienic. For a restaurant, it's very, very neglected! The wait staff lacks attention, smiles, and kindness!

Nice atmosphere and feel, the interior decor contrast with the surounding housing. Good food for takeaway or dining out.

Had a takeaway, picked up when they said it was ready and plenty of great food to be had, really enjoyed it..

One of best place back in the days when I was student, I was love to go there for dinner. Such a lovely atmosphere and delicious food.

Came here for a birthday and was greeted at the door. Plenty of parking out the back. The staff were super attentive and friendly. The food was very tasty and spicy(my son didnt like the chicken curry , too buttery apparently). The sizzling mixed grill looked lovely and had some theatrics about it. The atmosphere had an ambient Indian vibe about it, not too loud though. I only wish they had pictures of the food on the menu because if you don't know your currys you are kinda in the dark although they is a brief description of the dish. Overall though a lush experience.

Just around the corner for me, and so lucky that it is a good restaurant. The food is excellent and the chef is happy to cook off-menu. Lovely building, attentive staff.

we have ordered before with no problems, but this time food was due at 18.30 had notification to say it was on its way 10 mins before it was due then it turned up nearly a hour late and was cold. hopefully this was just a one off.

Food was very good but delivery was slow and not at time requested. Only updated time when asked why late

Very rude when rang up to say what we ordered wasn't the correct dish, which has now happened twice...very rude and do not understand good customer service. Disgusting attitude.we were regular customers, never again.

Have ordered takeaway from here many times and it’s been great however this time it was disgusting!!! It was not hot and the ‘chicken’ was absolutely horrible it was like frozen chicken that has preservatives in it and just not edible. Couldn’t eat it and will never order from here again 😢

It’s been a while since we had a takeaway from Mughal Palace but we won’t wait so long to order again . The food was delivered quickly and well within the expected time. The food was hot , fresh and delicious . Not too oily , plenty of chicken and prawns , tasty lemon rice . Recommend and 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As always an excellent meal. We ordered to have the meal delivered to us, and it arrived much quicker than estimated, and piping hot. Fresh ingredients and so tasty!

Our go-to curry house. Food is always good and tasty. Naan bread is the best around. Tried other places but stuck with this one.

Really nice building, superb food. We were the only people in there, I don't know why this place was so quiet. We had chefs specials and they were delicious (fish curry)

Perfect! Best Dhansak I’ve ever had, the Punjabi dish was amazing too, never had a curry like that one before! Rice, Dhal and Bhajia were delicious! Overall…10/10 👌😍

Usual we get food which is nice and hot(warm) but this time it wasn't. 5min more and it would we cold.

We preordered a New Year’s Eve takeaway for delivery at 7:30. As it was NYE we didn’t have high hopes of it arriving on time but the doorbell rang at 7:40 and we were shocked! Food was great, slightly cold but curry never travels great. Really tasty and great price. (Pictured is half a mushroom rice, half a chicken tikka masala, half portion of onion bahjis and half garlic naan.. don’t worry I ate the other half too!)

Tonight’s Chicken Tikka Main was the best I’ve ever had! Compliments to whoever cooked me the best meal ever! Hubby really enjoyed his Lamb Dhanzak too. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else for Indian food

Probably the worst Indian meal I have ever had, which is disappointing as the food last time I visited in 2022 was really good. I believe they fulfil the take away meals before those dining. The phone is constantly ringing with staff walking past it. The service was slow and the food was awful, there's more taste in supermarket meals.

Ordered a vindaloo and a korma. Korma was sickly pale in colour, almost white, and had the flavour profile of cream cheese. The vindaloo tasted and looked like a korma with some Garam Masala spice mix put in. I’ve had vanilla milkshakes spicier than that. We tried to call from all of our phones to ask if the order was wrong, but the call would ring out then on the second attempt would be blocked. Worst £35 spent and worst curry of my entire life.

Food was cold, driver couldn’t find address

Wrong meat in curry. (Got chicken instead of lamb which was ordered) - not sure if a mistake or trying to pass off cheaper meat. The meat was white rather than red meat so clearly chicken Tikka masala sauce was very red, but not exactly flavourful. Naans very tough but tasty. Onion bhaji portion very small but still tasty.

I called the restaurant when our food arrived, because I did not recognise the look or flavour of our masala dishes, which were luminous red in colour and tasted nothing like a masala. I was rudely informed, by the manager, that the chef cooks it that way and always has, it was red because of the food colouring they add, and I would have to order something else next time. A masala should have a tomato sauce base with yoghurt mixed in to counter the acidity. I suspect what they had served was in fact a (terrible) korma base that they’d added red dye to, perhaps it was due to expire. Whatever the case, it was devoid of flavour and the customer service (or lack thereof) when I raised the issue was inexcusable.

Delicious Indian food! All served in a unusual old barn! Lots of choice and service was great. Have also had a take away from here which was also fab. Highly recommend.

Excellent! Poppadoms were as fresh and light and crispy as you could hope for, and the Chicken Naga was especially flavoursome tonight. One of the best curries I've had for a while :-)

Chicken was a bit over cooked and korma wasn’t as nice as usual

The delivery was 30 minutes early, so surprised, quality of ingredients & flavours were great, food was lovely & hot. (The time roller on this review doesn’t work to allow anything other then 5 minutes, so can’t put how early my was)

Delivery time great as usual, along with most of the food, however the chilli and garlic chicken was so greasy, it soaked through the bags and I had to pour out a layer of oil from the top of the curry. The chicken pieces were tough/bouncy to chew through

Shouldn't really complain about food being delivered early but when you put a eta of 1 hour and it arrives in 15 minutes I have to put the food in the oven to keep warm until I'm ready to eat it. Apart from that curry was a little bland and would say there's a lack of choice in the menu.

We have been wanting to visit here for a long time, and tonight we finally got round to it. And now after having the best Indian meal we have in years we are kicking ourselves we didn't do it sooner! The food was simply incredible... We ordered far too much and felt bad for leaving so much, but we got to try and lot of different things... And all was as good as each other. The service was very polite and friendly and food came at a good pace, but we also didn't feel rushed.... Just right!! The only tiny little negative comment I have is there was 2 different lots of music playing at the same time... And that was a bit annoying. But overall.... Thoroughly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant.... We will definitely be going back!!!

Me and my partner have just got home from this place and both said same thing at same time. It was fantastic from minute you walk in staff are looking after you. They took our drinks order almost instantly and expressed no rush to order food. When we did order it came out in a timely manner and fresh. One of the most important things for me was that your not constantly being asked if all is ok. I hate being pestered when eating just a simple walk by is how I like it. Will definitely be going back on a regular basis.

Great food, and reasonably priced. Also very friendly and the guy working there also included our children when chatting to us which was nice.

The korma was so plodgy and not a usual korma, Wasn’t eaten at all as it was the wrong colour/texture. Collection time was fine though.

If you want tasteless generic slop with what was admittedly a passable nan go for it. Otherwise avoid.

Meat was very very hard and rice was very dry, food was cold so had to be reheated which is never nice to do!

Ordered a medium curry and ended up with something that came out of a valcano I did not eat it and was not asked when they collect plate if anything was wrong with it they were only interested in how much they charge for it what in my eyes was to expensive which is a shame as my son has just moved in around the corner went home and had a ploughman's will not be going back amen

Disappointing tikka masala tonight. I have one every time I order and I usually enjoy its mildly spiced, sweet coconut taste but tonight it just tasted of tomato and nothing else. Hope it’s just a one off, if they’ve changed the recipe they’ve ruined it.

Was lovely food and delivered so early too

We love this restaurant and is normally so good. Unfortunately the last two that we have had have been disappointing as the dishes we had were unusually spicy and the rice have been cold. I hope the next one is better as it is a shame.

I would definitely recommend The Mughal Palace. The building is unique, being an old barn with some original features and equipment on the walls, but so clean. The service was fast and friendly, with people checking in with you throughout the meal to ensure everything was OK. The food was brilliant and so tasty, hard to decide exactly what to have, but of course, it had to start with poppadoms 🙂
