Our go-to curry house. Food is always good and tasty. Naan bread is the best around. Tried other places but stuck with this one.

We preordered a New Year’s Eve takeaway for delivery at 7:30. As it was NYE we didn’t have high hopes of it arriving on time but the doorbell rang at 7:40 and we were shocked! Food was great, slightly cold but curry never travels great. Really tasty and great price. (Pictured is half a mushroom rice, half a chicken tikka masala, half portion of onion bahjis and half garlic naan.. don’t worry I ate the other half too!)

Fast, efficient, friendly service. Ordered a collection Sunday evening. Couldn’t fault it. Large portions and very tasty.

Probably the worst Indian meal I have ever had, which is disappointing as the food last time I visited in 2022 was really good. I believe they fulfil the take away meals before those dining. The phone is constantly ringing with staff walking past it. The service was slow and the food was awful, there's more taste in supermarket meals.

Ordered a vindaloo and a korma. Korma was sickly pale in colour, almost white, and had the flavour profile of cream cheese. The vindaloo tasted and looked like a korma with some Garam Masala spice mix put in. I’ve had vanilla milkshakes spicier than that. We tried to call from all of our phones to ask if the order was wrong, but the call would ring out then on the second attempt would be blocked. Worst £35 spent and worst curry of my entire life.

I called the restaurant when our food arrived, because I did not recognise the look or flavour of our masala dishes, which were luminous red in colour and tasted nothing like a masala. I was rudely informed, by the manager, that the chef cooks it that way and always has, it was red because of the food colouring they add, and I would have to order something else next time. A masala should have a tomato sauce base with yoghurt mixed in to counter the acidity. I suspect what they had served was in fact a (terrible) korma base that they’d added red dye to, perhaps it was due to expire. Whatever the case, it was devoid of flavour and the customer service (or lack thereof) when I raised the issue was inexcusable.

Delicious Indian food! All served in a unusual old barn! Lots of choice and service was great. Have also had a take away from here which was also fab. Highly recommend.

We have been wanting to visit here for a long time, and tonight we finally got round to it. And now after having the best Indian meal we have in years we are kicking ourselves we didn't do it sooner! The food was simply incredible... We ordered far too much and felt bad for leaving so much, but we got to try and lot of different things... And all was as good as each other. The service was very polite and friendly and food came at a good pace, but we also didn't feel rushed.... Just right!! The only tiny little negative comment I have is there was 2 different lots of music playing at the same time... And that was a bit annoying. But overall.... Thoroughly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant.... We will definitely be going back!!!

Me and my partner have just got home from this place and both said same thing at same time. It was fantastic from minute you walk in staff are looking after you. They took our drinks order almost instantly and expressed no rush to order food. When we did order it came out in a timely manner and fresh. One of the most important things for me was that your not constantly being asked if all is ok. I hate being pestered when eating just a simple walk by is how I like it. Will definitely be going back on a regular basis.

Great food, and reasonably priced. Also very friendly and the guy working there also included our children when chatting to us which was nice.

If you want tasteless generic slop with what was admittedly a passable nan go for it. Otherwise avoid.

Ordered a medium curry and ended up with something that came out of a valcano I did not eat it and was not asked when they collect plate if anything was wrong with it they were only interested in how much they charge for it what in my eyes was to expensive which is a shame as my son has just moved in around the corner went home and had a ploughman's will not be going back amen

I would definitely recommend The Mughal Palace. The building is unique, being an old barn with some original features and equipment on the walls, but so clean. The service was fast and friendly, with people checking in with you throughout the meal to ensure everything was OK. The food was brilliant and so tasty, hard to decide exactly what to have, but of course, it had to start with poppadoms 🙂

Ordered a takeaway today, 18th March. Couldn't fault anything, Ordered at 6.20pm said order would be with us between 7.35pm and 7.55pm. Arrived at 7.37pm to be exact, friendly lady that delivered and meal was great. Would definitely use service again

Absolutely recommend this place. The building is beautiful, so clean, fast and friendly service and the food is by far the best Indian food I have ever eaten. The food was beautifully presented and the flavours were incredible every mouthful of every dish was like heaven for my taste buds

Terrible. Ordered a takeaway for delivery as we had friends round. It arrived 1.5 hours later cold! Phoned up to complain and they asked me if it was edible. We’ll only just after reheating in the oven for 15 mins. Hardly any meat in the chicken dishes. When I phoned to complain no apology except that they were busy and offered 10% off next time. There won’t be a next time which is such a shame as we’ve used Mughal palace for years

Just had chicken madras tasteless and like water and iv had a pot noodles spicier and chicken balti like school dinner curry just missing the sultanas. Never again

Ordered tonight as our usual restaurant is closed.. fast delivery.. food was not great curry was watery.. the sag allo was salty I think they dropped a bag of salt on our meals.. was rank!! Defo won't order again as I feel like I've eaten the Ocean

I will give the benefit of the doubt as I am basing this review on a takeaway. I blame myself partly for choosing lamb which was tough as old boots! The rezala sauce was nice even though I had to spoon loads of oil off, however I would recommend the Gobi side dish. The peshwari naan was disappointing and again I blame myself for not asking for mint sauce as the 'raitha' is natural yogurt with chopped onion (not minty). I have not been disappointed when eating in the restaurant before and it won't put me off, but had I been eating in on this occasion I would have had to complain.

Absolutely brilliant food, fast turn around - they are also very helpful if you want something altered or even not on the menu. The fact that it's based in a pub, well, depends if you're a drinker or not! But the staff were all very friendly and very professional! Looking forward to next time!

Ordered from here tonight food arrived like warm, sagg aloo potatoes were black on the inside, absolutely disgusting actually made me sick!! Meat in all 3 main courses was chewy and completely over cooked !!

Very different to what you'd usually find on the high street. Curries were uniquely flavoured and tasted very fresh. Chicken was honest and well tandoori marinated, tasted of good quality. Claimed as our local now

Due to the lockdown we had a takeaway from Mughal Palace. Ordering on line was simple, the food was delivered on time with no mistakes. The food was delicious, a great meal. Would definitely use the takeaway again and will visit the restaurant when we can.

Have been meaning to try this place for quite some time but have never got round to it, so when some friends suggested meeting there last friday, i jumped at the chance, and glad i did, the staff were welcoming and helpful and the food was superbly cooked and the most flavoursome indian i think ive had! Will definately be visiting more regularly from now on!

As a family, we have tried most Indian restaurants in Bristol, and this is by far our favourite. It's also in a beautiful old medieval style building, and the service is brilliant. Its our regular go-to restaurant. Good with kids also.

Unfortunately we couldn't visit the Mughal Palace due to the pandemic, but got a takeaway instead. We quickly got a phone call to confirm the delivery time and take the card details. The food arrived at 7pm on the dot and was dropped off with social distancing. The order was all correct, hot and delicious - we will be repeat customers!

Because of the coronavirus, we were unable to go out for a meal and so had a takeaway from here instead. We were told our food would arrive at 7pm, but it actually arrived at 6.45. Our food was delicious and arrived nice and hot. The peshwari nan was the best I’ve ever eaten. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

Delicious food in a beautiful venue - we've used this restaurant over the years and it never disappoints.

My future husband and I were extremely impressed by the food. The meat was especially impressive! There was plenty of food and thr staff were very helpful in providing containers for the leftovers.

king prawn madras, onion bhaji. rice and bread TWENTY QUID takeaway! i had the exact same order 4 days ago from curry kings in kingswood and it cost me twelve quid. the waiter/owner told me the price wasd high because of the quality of the king prawns. they were the same or worse than curry kings. lets be fair the food was tasty and the portion size was reasonable but the cost left a nasty taste in my mouth....

Had a fantastic meal at Mughal Palace this evening! Recently refurbished and new proprietors! Great service, lovely food, very attentive! The waiter with the glasses has a fab posh accent too! 😜 Definitely worth a visit! Love Old Amersham! X

Food was surprisingly flavourless across the board. Would not recommend. Had a takeaway so perhaps the eat in experience is better.

I have been dying to eat here for ages, and tonight we didn't have time after coming late out of the Vue but dived in and got a take away. Absolutely FAB, really tasty. The service was friendly and efficient and I now really look forward to having a sit down meal with my family there soon. The ambience was lovely. 100% recommend this place.

Went with a large group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience.

DISAPOINTED: We've used this place for 10y+ but sadly it's gone 'Down Hill!' have just ordered some food from here, we live about a quarter of a mile from here yet the food was cold it also tasted old then when opening the cold chips we found what looked like bits of steel wool enough to make you choke needless to say that we will NEVER be going there again. Stay well clear. Would give zero stars if we could.

I've ate in at the restaurant and ordered a take away from here and have always enjoyed my food. Staff are lovely and service is good and fast whether your eating in or out. Chicken is always lovely and tender.

Initially a good service, the 2 main lamb course we found the meat to br very chewy. Overall ok, then no service wasnt offered anything after that, kind of ignored! Paid bill and left And No wont return !

The food here is really very good. The menu is perhaps more limited than you would expect, but what they do, they do very well. Service was very good, and the restaurant has an intimate and friendly atmosphere.
