I've been going here for quite some years, and it's a great place. (Here comes the but) The owner has decided to cut down on staff. The net result is that the wait for food is now unacceptable It took us over an hour to receive the starter, and people were sat around for ages waiting for take away, and sit down meals. The single waiter is doing his best, but the fault lies in the kitchen Please, please address this, otherwise you will lose your loyal customers, and we in turn will lose a great Indian restaurant

This is the best curry house in the area. Have tried them all. The value here is incredible and food quality is excellent. I get the lamb tikka biriani and Dansak regularly and they’re brilliant but we’ve never had a bad dish. Portions size is also great. This is our go to curry house now, highly recommended.

You’ll wait a little while for your food but by the time you leave you’ll have completely forgotten - we eat out at a lot of curry houses but this was hands down the best curry we have ever had. I had a lamb madras and asked for it a little more spicey and it came out the perfect level of hot. The value for money is also absolutely fantastic. We will be back here very, very soon. 10/10

This is the third time I've eaten here. Once dining in and two take aways. The chap serving is always polite, friendly and does not stop. The food is always piping hot and plentiful. It's exceptional value for money and whilst you may have to wait a little for your food to arrive. It's definitely well worth the wait!

We are house sitting and normally live on the other side of the city which is a real shame because this might be the best curry house in Bristol! Massive portions, a few great complimentary extras, good quality meat, bold flavours, proper spice. Cannot recommend this place enough, flippin' delicious!! Didn't sit in but the place looked nice enough, and the waiters were really friendly and smiley. If you live nearby take advantage!

Best tasting curry and best value for money, big portions and great tasting

Have been coming here for years, love the food, best Indian take away around! Food is freshly cooked and delicious, always plenty of meat in the dishes. We usually get free poppadoms and Bombay potatoes with our order too! They don’t deliver so best to phone through the order in plenty of time and collect. I haven’t eaten inside though, it is quite small and as it is such a popular take away the restaurant always has numerous people waiting for their orders and I often feel awkward for the people at the tables having customers standing around them.

Chaos, people waiting 60+ mins after the quoted pick up time. Server quotes 10-15 mins anytime someone asks and then doesn’t arrive. Waited 45 mins and then left as could see it wasn’t going to arrive anytime soon.

Cannot fault the food one bit, absolutely delicious and generous sizes (next time we will share a curry rather than one each), but the wait times were extreme. Was told to collect my order at 7:30, arrived at 7:30 and didn’t leave with my food until 8:25. Service in the restaurant was very poor, one table actually left as it was so busy. A lady on a table actually asked me if I was okay as I’d been waiting so long! The Cinnamon Tree would benefit from focusing on being an Indian takeaway rather than a restaurant as they just don’t have enough staff and their takeaway numbers are huge! But like I said, fantastic food and very generous portions - next time I order I’ll be ordering bang on opening time!

I've eaten here in the past with no problems. However, last night was awful. We booked our table for 7pm and got our food at 8.30pm. The young lad serving the food was apologetic but it wasn't his fault. The food was good but the wait was far too long.

This was a bad experience on a Saturday night. I had booked a table and was only for 2 people. When we arrived we weren’t spoken to for 10 mins then when we were we were directed to a table which wasn’t laid up only had a table cloth on. When we sat down we realised the table cloth was damp and when we asked for another one the guy said they are all the same. Asked for some wine glasses, got 1 wine glass and 1 gin glass. Was then presented with our cutlery which was just laid down on the table in a pile not set out in front of us and damp napkins. Finally asked if we wanted poppadoms then returned to take our order 10 mins later and told no nana breads. Staff unwelcoming and not very friendly. Very disappointed and embarrassing taking my friend there.

Awful service. Had to find menus ourselves from people on other tables, drank from bottle as not offered a glass. Waited over an hour and still no starter. No apologies for long wait. Place packed full of people waiting take aways who had also been waiting over an hour just for a takeaway. Ended up walking out as did 4 other people on another table. The place is a shambles. It seems their greed for money has been put Infront of acceptable standard of service. Will not be returning or recommending

Food was good but the wait for food was terrible. People ordering at 6.30 still not got food at 8.30

Came here 11th of Jan for a family meal. Me and partner both ended up with food poisoning and very ill for 36 hours. BEWARE!! they have been reported to food safety

Excellent all round, would highly recommend giving it a try. I had the Chicken tikka Pathia, which is a new dish for me. It was absolutely delicious. The prices are also very reasonable and a lot lower than other restaurants in the area.

We’ve been going to The Cinnamon Tree since they first opened. More often than not we book a table but on occasion we have ordered a takeaway. Indian food is our favourite and therefore we have tried a lot of places but The Cinnamon Tree beats all hands down in our opinion, the food is exceptionally excellent, plentiful and so delicious. Excellent value for money, the staff are brilliant, especially Jamie and Dan. Sometimes it is busy (as popular!) but this has never bothered us, as worth the wait and the staff keep you fully informed. You have to ‘bring your own’ drinks which works well but they will provide tap water and glasses. We’ve only experienced an issue once with a takeaway order but it was swiftly rectified. We recommend the restaurant to all our friends who now also regularly book. No one has been disappointed so definitely give it a go. My partner Dominic mainly sticks to what dishes he likes but I like to try various dishes and all are very good. I’m vegetarian, my partner is not but there is still lots of choice. Highly recommend.

An absolute local gem. Probably up there food-wise with the best in the Bristol area. The portions are generous. The quality, particularly the chicken tikka is excellent. The value is second to none.

Usually get take away, on its day it's the best Indian restaurant outside of the city centre. Timings can be off sometimes but it's worth the wait.. really extensive menu with fresh food. Inside is BYO with a place next door to get drinks, it can't really be faulted from a food standpoint, inside could do with some work but it's not uncomfortable and it's clean.

Ordered our food, took an hour and a half to arrive. Way to long to wait. Food is good however.

Can’t speak for sitting inside as only ever had takeaway, but this is definitely the best curry house in East Bristol!

Brilliant little place. Had the house special Biryani. Very tasty and plenty of it. Took some of it home to have the next day. Plus the food is reasonably priced. Do have to bring your own alcohol.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming with no rush compared to many Indian restaurants. Food was tasty and very reasonable priced.

WILL NOT USE AGAIN!!!! Such a shame. I've eaten here in the past and it was great. However, I came again with son and young daughter. We were waiting for our food for 2 hours. We ended up walking out. I then tried their take away service. I was told to collect at 7.45pm which was great as it would mean I'd be back in time for the England rugby game 8pm K.O. Arriving at 7.40pm, I finally was given my food at 8.25pm. Missed the start of the rugby waiting over half an hour along with 6 other fed up customers. Will not ever use again, this restaurants service has gone down hill dramatically. 😒👎👎👎

Great food but allow atleast extra half an hour or more for takeaway, never ready when supposed to be, even when quiet

Good food bring your own alcohol excellent service a little gem of a place well worth a visit and they do takeaways.

OMG what an amazing find. Won't be long before this place has a line up to get in. Food was out of this world, BYOB, good size portions also. Maybe improved the lighting and the atmosphere would be a 5 also. Highly recommend.

We love the food at this restaurant, great quality, huge portions and great value. Unfortunately though they are victims of their own success. On busy nights there are long waits for food and the restaurant can be very noisy and crowded with people eating and waiting for meals. Everything well worth the wait though.

I'm sad to say that I was disappointed with the food, it was very greasy, over cooked and although there was a lot of spice there was very little flavour. The ingredients didn't seem fresh at all. The chicken in the tikka was very dry and all of the vegetables were very mushy. Though service was polite it was extremely slow, we ordered ahead for collection and a hour in advance, yet still had to wait a further 35 minutes for hour food once we arrived to collect. It seemed to be very under staffed for such a busy restaurant. Some tables had yet to be cleared in the whole 35 minutes we were waiting. On the flip side A small and nicely arranged restaurant would be great for an eat in meal, however it can get very busy once the takeaway which can take away the ambiance. They don't hold an alcohol license so you are only able to purchase soft drinks. Though they do operate a bring your own policy. Again it was a shame to be so let down by the food as all else would have been less of an issue and I could have easily overlooked it all.

I was surprised by the quality of the food, taste like home cooked food. Definitely will revisit soon.

Well we heard you may have to wait for your food but 2 hours was far too long . The waiter was as helpful as he could be but they were completely overrun . Food was tasty and hot but the table we sat on was very cramped next to door entrance which had people in and out all the time through the evening . Not a relaxing experience by any means , so wont be re-visiting any time soon . maybe a takeaway would have been the better option as the food was good.

First time ordering from here rang at 17.30 to be told order would be ready for 6.45 got there at 6.35 was only me and a couple already eating went and paid and stood there waiting a few other come in after me and left way before. It came to 19.05 and I asked how much longer my order would be and was asked to give them two mins. At this point it was really busy with takeaway orders and it seemed everybody's time was 6.45 for collection. 19.25 my order came out. I wouldn't of minded if there was an apology for being so late. The girl in there who was serving had attitude and was rude and just did not want to be there long hair and false nails that were so long. Really disappointing as the food was really nice

We have had many dine in and take away from this small establishment over the years and they never failed to deliver. Pleasant service from staff, consistently good food at great prices. They are getting very popular so order take always early and be prepared to wait a little but it really is worth it for tasty food

Ate with friends as a last pre Christmas catch up. Lovely food - great selection, generous portions and extremely tasty. Really friendly and accommodating to dietary needs. Not a big restaurant but not too small either. Already looking forward to coming back.

The best curry I have had for years! Be patient, the service is not fast, but that's because much of the food is freshly prepared and is well worth waiting for. This restaurant is a little gem, tucked away in suburban Mangotsfield, if offers great value for money.

Fed up with overpriced delivery takeaways decided to order one from here. Very easy to order on the phone and extremely polite service on the phone and when i arrived. There was a slight delay but what excellent value and top notch food. There was enough to make up two meals and a few freebie’s as well and was all pipping hot. Could not fault anything so as well as eating in we will make it a regular takeout highly recommended.

Not been here in a while so thought would try it again well what a mistake that was !! Starters was great 👍 but main course was vilest was tasteless really runny and generally awful the chicken tikka massage which should be nice and creamy was like water me and my husbandate hardly any of our main course and its safe to say would not recommend this place at all

Been to the Cinnamon Tree for food now on several occasions and the food has always been excellent. The portions of food is always good. I love that they always give you free little extra's with our takeaway Keep up the good work :-)

The cinnamon tree is a real hidden gem. Right on our doorstep but only tried recently. The food is very fresh and flavoursome. Staff are all very friendly. The portions are generous and very reasonably priced. This is now our go to Indian restaurant.

Very strange. Food was great. Service was glacial in its slowness. The naan was burned on the bottom and undercooked on the top. If everything was at the level of the main course, this would be one of the best restaurants in town.

I have ordered many delicious takeaways from Cinnamon Tree. The food is always delicious and freshly cooked. This place represents amazing value for money !!! Ive also dinned in, again delicious food and very friendly staff... Highly recommended !!!

Food nice. When you eventually receive it. Unfortunately this place have no idea of time. For take aways you need to order lunch time if you want it that evening. This has happened multiple times, with absolutely no apology. I would far prefer them to state a later time than to leave us, and many other customers waiting 40 plus minutes late milling around on the pavement outside. I advise you look elsewhere unless you value your time as little as they value it.

We have either eaten here or had a takeaway every Friday for more than three years. So 7 of us multiplied by 150 is around about 1000 meals. Each and every one has always been cooked to perfection. The herbs and spices, the presentation, attention to detail and temperature have always been 110 % Thanks guys.

Possibly the worst takeaway I've had. Easily the worst Indian food. Where to begin? Bhunas were intensely oily, it came out the containers like contaminated water. The rice was over cooked and stogey. I could cut it into pieces. I had a keema naan that had a tiny slither of overcooked partially burnt meat in the centre not to mention the naans were thick, doughy and also over cooked. Couldn't pay me to eat here again ...oh and food hygiene rating of 3 so, roll the dice if you don't care about your food being edible.

Great Bajis and Nann bread but curry very oiley. I stated little oil please. But received curry with a quarter full of watery oil. Will not be using this place again.

Shockingly slow!! Was told it would be 1 hour 20 mins for a phoned take any order. After arriving to collect we had to wait for a further 45mins....!

Curry was OK alot of chicken in it part from that not good.. I picked a menu up from their door the same day that states 10% off on collection when got their got told it was 5% (£50+ order). On the phone was told a hour for collection got their 5 minutes early had to wait outside for 10mins then waited another 30mins inside for our food. Curry was OK part from that that was not nice rice was just clumps all struck together the onion bhaji was undercooked and raw in the middle. Its cheap to other curry houses and cheap for a reason.

Time for food, Very Good Very Quick. Value for money: Excellent! always happy to find friendly extras such as poppadoms with my meal. With a very reasonable price tag. Quality: Excellent will defiantly be ordering from here again. Staff: Very Professional, when we ordered they offered to bring the food out to the car. Overall if I could score higher I would.

Only just found out about this place, had two takeaways from here within a week and it is the best I have had in a long time. Very tender melt in the mouth meat and the best nan breads I have ever had. Extremely good value for money and large portions. Friendly staff and food was ready at the time stated, they even rang to sat it was ready.

We had a takeaway last night and decided to order things we've never had before... and yet again... delicious! We ordered Tikka Panner Biryani with Masala sauce and there was 10 large chunks of yummy Panner. We also ordered a lamb jalfrezi for the 1st time and there was so much meat and full of flavour with a real kick to it! Our sides we're also yummy and we had so much food for less than £20. We ordered over the phone at 6pm to collect at 7.15pm and it was ready when we arrived. Highly recommended

It’s a shame to give such a bad review for a local family run business but they are over-committing themselves and taking on too many orders. The food is excellent but there’s always been a long wait for the food especially dining in but although they were given over an hours notice for our food order, I, and everyone else waiting for food collection waited at least an hour. There were no apologies. They can’t keep taking peoples money and providing a poor service. They need to improve and make these steps as they will lose customers. I will not be using them until I hear improvements have been made on their realistic timings of when the kitchen can produce food and look customers in the eye.

Ordered takeaway, went to collect at the arranged time but had to wait around 15 mins. Not really a problem as they were probably busy. Got the food home to find they'd given us a free veg dish and poppadoms. Food was all delicious and plentiful especially the Lamb Rezala, meat was v tender, and the Chicken Ceylon. It was all at a bargain price too.

While I had been told it was excellent and I love food in general, especially Indian. We over heard a gentleman complaining about how long he had to wait only to then get our main course which was like eating a box of saxa salt since 16 I have been eating Indian takeaways and have been to Many Indian restaurants and I have never before had ever tasted such horrific food I think they must of been having a very bad night, its Shame as the starters were fantastic but really the main course was vvvvv v salty

We ordered food to collect by phone with 90 minutes notice. When I arrived it was obvious the person behind the counter did not recognise the order. He pretended it was ready and took the credit card payment. Other people came in and left with food. The same chap would not admit that our food had not been prepared. I tore a strip off the manager who would only nod his head and would not speak. 30 minutes after my arrival the food arrived. There were no apologies. Had this food not been for others who were depending on me I would have demanded a refund. My son has given them a good deal of business in the past. They will have no more. Shockingly bad attitude in my view. The nearby SHADIN restaurant is very dependable and friendly.

Always a good curry. Generous portions at great prices. Simple decor and pleasant and efficient staff. There are very few curry houses offering such good value for money in the Bristol area.

I was recommended this restaurant and what a find. It is extremely well run in the covid world. The food is absolutely first class brilliant value and full of flavour. The onion Bhaji’s are easily the biggest I have ever seen a meal in themselves all portions being on the large side to say the least! 10 out of 10 for value, food and cleanliness with top notch service.

Took my dad for a curry. Had baghis and madras. Food was great, price was great. The service was quick and efficient. Very impressed. Small and cosy, would definitely go again.

First visit yesterday ,food was excellent, price was good ,and it was BYO ,which kept the price reasonable, would definitely recommend.

We have been going here pretty much since it first opened....eat in and during coved 19 for takeaways.....never fails to impress.....the food is flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Customer service is excellent. Thank you guys for keeping going through the troubled times....you are VERY much appreciated.

Great menu. Good prices. Good portion size. The ginger lamb was very tasty as was the Rogan josh. Onion bhaji the best in the area easily. Swift service (although restaurant part closed for covid at present) Will visit this weekend, a surprising terrific meal.

Wow! Everything was piping hot, full of flavour and such a bargain. I would advice you call early to order and collect later as they were very busy. We don't mind as we're delighted to see a local, independent business doing well. There was so much food, we had the leftovers the following day. The Cheesy, Garlic Nann is out of this world and our favourite curry is the Lamb Chilli Garlic Masala (it is quite hot!)

The best takeaway curry we've had in a long time. Tasty, not oily, and lots of chicken!
