We booked last minute for a table for four after another local Indian restaurant had elected not to open on Mondays anymore but we hadn’t done our research!!.The Arjee Bharjee said they could fit us in - the food and service was really special. Everyone was really happy.

I like to consider myself fussy and only enjoy the best curry’s. Visited here last week and happy to say it is one of the best curry’s I have ate outside Birmingham & Manchester. Great taste depth, spice level & customer service. Will be visiting again soon.

The king prawns are huge, great curry!

To be fair, the curry is nice. But the delivery side of things with this restaurant is a shambles. First delivery was fully cancelled after over an hour and a half, so I collected as children were very hungry. Ordered recently a very simple order and there were issues with the delivery, missing 3 items. The order I received and charged for is absolutely pointless having. Will never be ordering from here and I wouldn’t recommend a delivery from them

This is mainly a takeaway but they do have a couple of tables. For me the food lacks seasoning and depth of flavour, but I think this is a recurring theme with restaurants in the UK where flavors are toned down for westerners. However I can't fault the staff who are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Placed an order online just after 8pm on a Friday evening, was given a Delivery time of 9:25 which tbh I thought seemed a really long time already, when no food at 9:30 I phoned to be told it was on its way… nothing come 9:50 so called again to be told that it hadn’t printed in the kitchen and hadn’t even been cooked! I asked why I was told it was on its way, having given my details when I called at 9:30. Was told I wasn’t the first person it had happened too! By way of an “apology” they said I could have a 10% discount (£4) but funnily enough we didn’t fancy waiting another hour or so. No actual apology either, and no “please give us another go” shame because I’ve heard good things about the food.

Never disappoints food always on spec unlike other more local - food here is always cooked to perfection with each dish having its own flavour - order from here and you won’t be disappointed. Will defo keep as my go to place

Great experience, visited for the 8th time with colleagues have been amazed that standards were met even on a busy Saturday night! The Murg Dum Handi is my go to and would also recommend that you try their naans very good Vegan options available too which impressed us all, so flavoursome and overall a great atmosphere with friendly staff! Oh! And Delivery is very swift as well for those who like myself prefer a lazy night in from time to time.

Our favourite takeaway. Great to find somewhere that consistently serves freshly made, delicious food. The dishes are all distinct in character with the veggie side dishes always on point. Happy customers

Ordered my first take away here. My comments are as follows: Website easy to order from. Delivery really quick especially on a Friday night. Food wise not quite hitting the mark. Most of the food was spot on but the curry was too watery. It was a chicken tikki masala and the sweetness and thickness of the sauce should be one of its selling points and this had none of that. It didn't taste bad just a bit bland and runny. Going to be honest probably won't order again even though everything else was good. Quite a few other reviews mention the watery sauce so it's clearly how they cook it. Great if you like that but I don't. 4 stars as the service was spot on and most of the food was great. Shame about the sauce.

I recently moved to the area and discovered the Arjee Bhajee on my doorstep! The first time I had a takeaway and I enjoyed it so much I came back last week when my friend was staying. We had the sharing vegetarian platter for 2 to start which was delicious. We were very happy with our mains with the extra rice and naan breads. The food here is so fresh and tasty and cooked to a high standard. The owner was also so friendly and welcoming which made the experience so pleasant. The restaurant is small and intimate but perfect as it has a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

The Arjee Bhajee has undoubtedly set a new standard for Indian cuisine in the UK. Bristol, with its plethora of Indian restaurants, has seen a decline in quality lately. However, my experience at The Arjee Bhajee has left me utterly impressed. I cannot recommend the team at The Arjee Bhajee highly enough. The food is not just great; it's bursting with flavor, and the service is top-notch. In my book, it's a perfect 10/10.

Food arrived cold, soggy and wet. There was no refund or food given for the fact that food went in the bin and not eaten. What a waste of my time and money ordering from argee bhajee would not ever recommend to anyone else.

We've been to The Arjee Bhajee quite a few times since moving locally in 2021 to this restaurant - pretty much exclusively as take-out as that's what we prefer, but the dine-in space itself always looks really nice. The food is incredible. I really don't think there's been a time that I've been disappointed - it's delicious, and they don't scrimp on portion sizes either, so the value for money is great. The people working there are lovely and friendly, and we've never had to wait ages for our food either. The menu is clear with dietary needs / requirements which is really appreciated. We always get a take out here when friends are down as we can rely on the quality and know the food will impress. It's like a chance to show off the great local food we have!

Just recieved our takeaway and havet to say disappointing.!! There was no meat in keema naan. No yoghurt sauce with onion bahjee or anyway with chicken tikka starter. Not very warm also. Shame as Normally good.👎

As a local neighbour I've had the pleasure of dining at Arjee and the food is of a very high standard. However the management and staff leave a lot to be desired. Quite often you will see staff stood smoking outside the doorway which gives a rather unhygienic entrance. I have also observed staff pouring used kitchen oil directly into the street drains, which is not good for the environment. Staff regularly park on the pavement during opening hours and exit/enter the pavement at speed. Most annoyingly the resturant take no accountability for delivery drivers who frequently park in the middle of my road (Hilltop), literally abandoning the car to get an order and blocking all traffic, or parking across driveways or on private land. Staff have been contacted about this in an effort to try and resolve the situation, but they deny all knowledge of the delivery drivers even being in the restaurant. Arjee have done well for themselves as a resturant and rightly so, but they cannot forget they are part of a community rather than allow themselves to dominate the neighbourhood like they currently do. Unfortunately good food is not enough to make a recommendation.

This food need little bit of improvement, I ordered dal and it was like something watery dish less dal and more water. In Aloo gobhi sabji gobhi was raw and full of oil. There biryani is nice 😊

Had a takeaway for the first time. food arrived early and hot. For the price of the food, I wouldn't say this is amazing. Lamb vindaloo has huge chunks of fat through the meat. Tandoori mix grill at £15 you'd think you'd get a plain nann like most curry houses, but no. Chicken on the bone and lamb chops were nice, not so much for the rest. Keema nann and chips was OK. But wouldn't recommend a takeaway

Good food. Had a delivery from here. It tasted really good. I did notice the curry was a slightly more watery consistency. Whether this is intentional or not doesn't matter as it still tasted great and didn't take away from the curry at all. I will say that it didn't sit heavy on the stomach like other Currys ive had so the consistency maybe due to differing oils/butters compared to other restaurants. Overall I really enjoyed it and worth giving it a go.

Food was delivered quickly and hot. Mushroom rice and keema rice were OK. Unfortunately, the curries were watery and bland, with a thick layer of oil coating the top. Rogan tasted of absolutely nothing, korma was slightly better, but still not of any quality. Update: was promised a refund, which hasn't surfaced. Manager acknowledged the food wasn't up to standard due to staffing issues, but conveyed this in the most arrogant manner possible. Avoid this place like the plague.

My wife visited this place with her work friends and said how nice it was was so I had to visit. I was not disappointed. Not a big place but nicely decorated, light and modern and very welcoming. The staff were first rate. They all went out of their way to explain everything about their food and how they source their produce and quite happily did something that wasn’t on the menu for me. Every item we ordered was absolutely first rate and very rich and full of flavour. I had a King Prawn Patia - the prawns were enormous around 15cm long! More like small lobsters. Also they were the best I have ever eaten. Needless to say, I will be returning. A real find.

Don't bother. Might be good food I'll never know. Got given the wrong order on a delivery and they were completely useless and unhelpful I've never known a restaurant like it. Would give no stars if I could.

Good service and nice people. Ok food but so, so oily. There is literally a pool of grease surrounding my curry on the plate. It's not appetising and a health hazard! If they used less oil it'd be 4 stars.

Brilliant food and great service. Dined in the restaurant with BYO alcohol. Huge portions and great value for money. The Murgh Dum Handi (chicken on the bone and mince lamb) was fantastic and the lamb dishes are also brilliant (very tender). Would definitely recommend.

Small dine-in & takeout. We dined in with the byo option. Beautifully tender lamb, light rice, large portions, we could not finish it all. Different crockery from the standard white plates was a nice touch. Cost for 4 with naans, poppadums and samosas was £85 (inc a 10% service charge). Cash only. Don't really like the tip automatically being added to the bill, prefer to choose to pay what we like for service and usually avoid such places.

Very nice tarka dahl, veg biryani had mustard seeds in it and fresh coriander, nice touch. Ordered paratha, chapati, veg biryani, tarka dahl, Allo Gobi and further side dish. All came in for about 30 quid and fed two comfortably with enough for a lunch for one tomorrow. I am guessing Bangladeshi style and good spread of flavours.

Really poor quality food .. chicken and lamb dishes both in same sloppy tomato/onion sauce with chilli. Mushroom bhajee .. same sloppy sauce and tinned mushrooms . Never again

We booked to go here for my partners birthday and the overall service was questionable. We arrived at 6.50 for our reservation. It took about 30 mins to get the order in. They deliverred the poppadoms and chutneys. And they were long gone by the time the food arrived. The owner kept saying the food is coming. It wasnt. What was weird to me is one of the staff bringing in fish and chips and serving it on the table opposite us. Meanwhile, we had been waiting ages for our food. I dont know if this was just or the owner and her or the staff too. We can also see the amount of takeaway and delivery orders going out. Id say from ordering the food took anywhere between and hour and an hour and a half. When the food came it didn't come all at once there was minutes between plates. The food itself was good granted it was on the colder side. Basically, it seems like we waited an hour for microwaved curry. It wasn't heated up properly. Please also be aware they do not accept card so we bank transferrred the owner. He did apologise for the wait. However, we were not offered any kind of discount for our wait Bizarre.

Fantastic meal, excellent presentation, clean, polite staff. You can take your own alcoholic drinks. Onion bhaji, poppadoms, naan bread, jalfreezi and pathos were all excellent.

Bad experience I had on takeaway. I got stale food from them. Than I complained about food they said it was fine. You made wrong story. Stuff and management was nonsense with their behaviour. I don't think they people deserve for this kinds of attitude. Stay away from this shop. 👎👎🤌

I ordered my first delivery from here recently using Uber eats. It was lovely, nice fresh ingredients & the best curry I've had since I moved to Bristol. Nice big chunks of chicken.

Ate in for the first time. I'll be honest I wasn't expecting anything special ... But I asked the boss for a recommendation for someone who likes korma and ended up with a veggie version of the makhani murgh with mushroom rice. It was incredible, so thick and creamy with a depth of flavour. And the rice could stand alone. The starters and sundries also of a high quality, and presentation of all was modern and fresh. Overall, the staff were chatty and helpful, the food came out on good time, and I'll be sure to return. My only feedback could be that the restaurant was very cold, which is why I've marked down atmosphere . I appreciate that it's small space and the delivery drivers need to pop in/out of the door, but maybe additional heaters would be nice.

Went for a meal yesterday with my partner. We were extremely excited to go after reading the reviews and that they have recently attained the best curry in the southwest award! Initially I booked a table online through their website and when we arrived we were told that they were not expecting us (some issue with the booking service) however they did accommodate us 30 minutes later. We were wanted a couple of authentic best British curries but unfortunately were extremely disappointed. Regarding the service, we had to ask for menu’s, our drinks and serviettes. Our food, in particular the chicken murgh dum handi, (recommended by the waiter as we wanted chicken on the bone) was poor and appeared to just be chicken tandoori with sauce on top! If you want an authentic South Asian curry then I would give this place a miss as there was definitely a bit of arjee bhajee going on!

We've had many take away meals from here and is by far the best around. The food is amazing, wouldn't go anywhere else!

As a member of the Dukes of Mumbai Curry Club this is one of the best curries I have had in the Bristol area. My Chicken Shashlik was top drawer and such a healthy serving that it was a struggle to include my pilau rice....

Second take away from here and both times everything was absolutely delicious. Gorgeous food! Good value and delivered promptly. We’ll definitely be ordering again.

Turned up on time for our table and we were seated promptly, on the last table available right next to the door. The door was constantly opening and closing due to all the delivery drivers collecting orders. Unfortunately it was a freezing cold evening so...

I have never tasted food like it. So fresh and full of flavour. Two of us had different lamb dishes and the lamb fell apart. I have never had lamb tender from any curry house before. I will be returning here from now on 10/10...

Way, way too oily. Over powered anything else. Oil floating on the top, tired to drain it out but no doubt blocked our sink in the process! Couldn’t eat the sauce for fear of stroke or heart attack. Never again.
