Arjee Bhajee in South Gloucestershire

The delivery arrived on time but whilst the bhaji and naan were delicious, I can't really comment on the paneer dish because it was chicken. Uber eats thankfully refunded promptly. The rice was also a little underwhelming. Must have caught them on a bad day or maybe it's just an overhyped place.

Ordered a delivery food was so oily it was unbelievable every dish full off oil greasy and not tasty at all. Would avoid not worth the money I’ve had an Indian before but this was inedible!

We have been going to Arjee Bhajee for a year as our go to takeaway. Food is always great and lovely staff.

My wife and I recently moved near here and are so impressed by the Arjee Bhajee. Every time we come we are met by the friendly team who are always so passionate about the place. We often try something new each time we come in and the owner is full of recommendations. In our last visit he told us about his planned changes in the menu and they sound great and unique. Finally the food is always amazing and I haven't had a dish that I haven't loved. I hope this place keeps doing so well. We both love this relaxed fun restaurant, but also we have had takeaways before from here too and it's just as good.

Great food, both to eat in and take away. Their menu is very well labelled for those with dietary needs, and there are plenty of good veggie and vegan options.

Absolutely delicious takeaway. The masala fries are a must! Also great for ceoliacs as everything is gluten free apart from naan breads. Love it here will definitely be returning.

Amazing food and vibes were there

Disappointed, we had arranged to collect our food at 7:30pm, on our arrival the restaurant had no knowledge of our order. It came to light that this was due to a mix up on social media and we were reassured our order would be sorted and be with us in 45-1hr. Sadly after nearly 2 hours our order hadn’t arrived, this was due to the restaurant being so busy. If we would have known this at 7:30pm we would have understood these things happen and ordered food elsewhere. I think tonight the restaurant tried to please everybody which is no bad thing but realistically they couldn’t fulfil our order and should have told us that at 7:30, instead of us waiting for 2 hours making it too late for us to order food from a different establishment.

Avoid ordering from this place if you actually want to eat curry. I’ll elaborate and I’ll be fair: the Arjee Bahjee in Soundwell probably serves an OK curry. However, we wouldn’t know because ours never arrived and we ended up eating buttered toast. After a conversation on Facebook messenger in the morning we were told to collect our munchie box at 19:30. Upon arrival, eagerly awaiting our dinner, we were assured they don’t do munchy boxes anymore and would never take orders via Facebook messenger. In fact they don’t even know who manages their Facebook. Some third party apparently took our order without their knowledge. Might be time to rethink to that particular relationship. The staff were, admittedly, extremely apologetic and offered to get us our food delivered within the hour. Fast forward (or rather slowly crawl forward hungrily) almost two hours later we were told the food hadn’t even been cooked yet. I called to tell them (for the third time) we were still waiting and wouldn’t ever recommend them, and they could keep their food, the man on the end of the phone simply said “Alright. Bye.” And hung up. Horrible service, invisible food, comms in a mess. Don’t bother.

I've tried some serious Indian food in Bristol, this topped it all! Honestly some serious flavours I didn't know existed. If you think you've had the best Indian in Bristol but not tried this then your mind is about to be changed. Honestly so good.

The service in the place was top notch, very friendly waiter who took our order for takeaway. Excellent menu with plenty of choice. Food was even better, so fresh and so much flavour. Absolutely banging! I never normally write reviews but this place was so good I had to. So glad I have found this gem in Bristol and will be coming back time and time again. Thankyou argee bharge!

Ordered our first takeaway from here , fast, efficient & most of all the food is fantastic. The driver was friendly and was very grateful for the tip. I even called back up to let the staff know how much we appreciated their food and service. Will definitely be our number 1 takeout and will be visiting the restaurant very soon. Thanks to all Rich

Food was delicious. We ordered 1 main dish ,2 types of naan, tandori chicken sides and papadum+ chutney starters which is cost us nearly 40 pound (Cash Only).

This is one of the best curries we have ever had (ate in). Service was top notch and the food was delicious with a vast menu. We were also impressed that the manager was checking the identity of the delivery drivers coming in to pick food up. Will definitely return!

Had a takeaway from here for the first time and it was fabulous! I'm coeliac and had to call before ordering. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Even double checked and called me back about 1 item. My 1st Indian since diagnosis and it was absolutely immense. Really lovely food. Great price. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Ordered at 7.10 for a 8.10 delivery. Food didn't turn up until 8.58 and I think that only happened because I had a to chase them at 8.30 and 8.45. Not even a courtesy notification that they were running late. On the 8.30 call they said it was out for delivery and on the 8.45 call they said it would be 5 more minutes at most. I would not recommend ordering for delivery from them.

Have only ordered take away meals so far, however I believe this is amongst the very best Indian food I’ve ever had and at age 58 I’ve had a few.

Had a fantastic meal here on Saturday. Everything was perfect. Sham the waiter was really helpful and not trying to make you order more than you can eat. Very generous portions and great to take your own drink too. We will be back

I have been tried for the first time very unhygienic food and I have seen the chefs with very unhygienic dresses without gloves no greetings for the Costomers very unprofessional staff I don't recommend to try their food ! 🤬

Best Curry I have had in Bristol, had it taken away and picked it up. Very good portions, food was tasty and the curry I had was flavorful. only issue is that it is a bit on the tad expensive side.

Seriously good, you can tell the attention to detail and skill of the chef is top of the line. Friendly and chatty staff. Probably the best curry house in Bristol I’ve tried. If you have ever had the pleasure of eating at the home of Pakistani or Indian friends this is the closest I’ve ever had from a restaurant takeaway.

Popped in for a bite to eat. Staff were amazing and food came out quickly. Food was amazing. We will definitely be returning. One thing is it is cash only. We had to dart to a cash point. But was well worth it

This is my 'go to place' for a great quality, delicious and nutrious meal, let alone a superb curry! I walk 20 minutes to get here and back too! This is definitely one of the best curry takeaway/restaurants I've been to anywhere, which is saying something as I've been around a while! It is probably the best to be honest. I ordered from here on ubereats and collected my order in person - they had it done in around 15 mins (it took me 10 mins to drive to them and 10 back home yet the food was still hot when I ate it which was great. Fantastic korma, good quality lamb and friendly staff on pick-up. Highly recommend this place!

Order from here before and food has been good but not ordered for a while. Had chicken karahi which was bland, no taste, onion bhajee tasteless, so didn’t eat much, not sure I would order again.

After the hype of this place and being very local it was time to book a visit! I’d unfortunately had a not ‘awesome’ takeaway experience a few years back so was hesitant but SO glad I did!!! The service was impeccable, the owner introduced himself and the food was just WOW!!! I didn’t even realise Masala fries were a thing!!! The pictures speak for themselves and we will certainly be back!

The worst restaurant I have ever been too, it's says Indian restaurant at the online, but it is not at all, I have ordered aloo tikki, what I have got is palak aloo with ample amount of sauce and tamarind paste, trust me this is not the way aloo tikki cooked in India Bangladesh whatever , paneer Tikka is jus salty they jus added red chilli powder and salt is that paneer Tikka, not at all an Indian restaurant

We booked last minute for a table for four after another local Indian restaurant had elected not to open on Mondays anymore but we hadn’t done our research!!.The Arjee Bharjee said they could fit us in - the food and service was really special. Everyone was really happy.

I like to consider myself fussy and only enjoy the best curry’s. Visited here last week and happy to say it is one of the best curry’s I have ate outside Birmingham & Manchester. Great taste depth, spice level & customer service. Will be visiting again soon.

To be fair, the curry is nice. But the delivery side of things with this restaurant is a shambles. First delivery was fully cancelled after over an hour and a half, so I collected as children were very hungry. Ordered recently a very simple order and there were issues with the delivery, missing 3 items. The order I received and charged for is absolutely pointless having. Will never be ordering from here and I wouldn’t recommend a delivery from them

This is mainly a takeaway but they do have a couple of tables. For me the food lacks seasoning and depth of flavour, but I think this is a recurring theme with restaurants in the UK where flavors are toned down for westerners. However I can't fault the staff who are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Placed an order online just after 8pm on a Friday evening, was given a Delivery time of 9:25 which tbh I thought seemed a really long time already, when no food at 9:30 I phoned to be told it was on its way… nothing come 9:50 so called again to be told that it hadn’t printed in the kitchen and hadn’t even been cooked! I asked why I was told it was on its way, having given my details when I called at 9:30. Was told I wasn’t the first person it had happened too! By way of an “apology” they said I could have a 10% discount (£4) but funnily enough we didn’t fancy waiting another hour or so. No actual apology either, and no “please give us another go” shame because I’ve heard good things about the food.

Great experience, visited for the 8th time with colleagues have been amazed that standards were met even on a busy Saturday night! The Murg Dum Handi is my go to and would also recommend that you try their naans very good Vegan options available too which impressed us all, so flavoursome and overall a great atmosphere with friendly staff! Oh! And Delivery is very swift as well for those who like myself prefer a lazy night in from time to time.

Ordered my first take away here. My comments are as follows: Website easy to order from. Delivery really quick especially on a Friday night. Food wise not quite hitting the mark. Most of the food was spot on but the curry was too watery. It was a chicken tikki masala and the sweetness and thickness of the sauce should be one of its selling points and this had none of that. It didn't taste bad just a bit bland and runny. Going to be honest probably won't order again even though everything else was good. Quite a few other reviews mention the watery sauce so it's clearly how they cook it. Great if you like that but I don't. 4 stars as the service was spot on and most of the food was great. Shame about the sauce.

I recently moved to the area and discovered the Arjee Bhajee on my doorstep! The first time I had a takeaway and I enjoyed it so much I came back last week when my friend was staying. We had the sharing vegetarian platter for 2 to start which was delicious. We were very happy with our mains with the extra rice and naan breads. The food here is so fresh and tasty and cooked to a high standard. The owner was also so friendly and welcoming which made the experience so pleasant. The restaurant is small and intimate but perfect as it has a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

The Arjee Bhajee has undoubtedly set a new standard for Indian cuisine in the UK. Bristol, with its plethora of Indian restaurants, has seen a decline in quality lately. However, my experience at The Arjee Bhajee has left me utterly impressed. I cannot recommend the team at The Arjee Bhajee highly enough. The food is not just great; it's bursting with flavor, and the service is top-notch. In my book, it's a perfect 10/10.

Food arrived cold, soggy and wet. There was no refund or food given for the fact that food went in the bin and not eaten. What a waste of my time and money ordering from argee bhajee would not ever recommend to anyone else.

We've been to The Arjee Bhajee quite a few times since moving locally in 2021 to this restaurant - pretty much exclusively as take-out as that's what we prefer, but the dine-in space itself always looks really nice. The food is incredible. I really don't think there's been a time that I've been disappointed - it's delicious, and they don't scrimp on portion sizes either, so the value for money is great. The people working there are lovely and friendly, and we've never had to wait ages for our food either. The menu is clear with dietary needs / requirements which is really appreciated. We always get a take out here when friends are down as we can rely on the quality and know the food will impress. It's like a chance to show off the great local food we have!

Just recieved our takeaway and havet to say disappointing.!! There was no meat in keema naan. No yoghurt sauce with onion bahjee or anyway with chicken tikka starter. Not very warm also. Shame as Normally good.👎

As a local neighbour I've had the pleasure of dining at Arjee and the food is of a very high standard. However the management and staff leave a lot to be desired. Quite often you will see staff stood smoking outside the doorway which gives a rather unhygienic entrance. I have also observed staff pouring used kitchen oil directly into the street drains, which is not good for the environment. Staff regularly park on the pavement during opening hours and exit/enter the pavement at speed. Most annoyingly the resturant take no accountability for delivery drivers who frequently park in the middle of my road (Hilltop), literally abandoning the car to get an order and blocking all traffic, or parking across driveways or on private land. Staff have been contacted about this in an effort to try and resolve the situation, but they deny all knowledge of the delivery drivers even being in the restaurant. Arjee have done well for themselves as a resturant and rightly so, but they cannot forget they are part of a community rather than allow themselves to dominate the neighbourhood like they currently do. Unfortunately good food is not enough to make a recommendation.

This food need little bit of improvement, I ordered dal and it was like something watery dish less dal and more water. In Aloo gobhi sabji gobhi was raw and full of oil. There biryani is nice 😊

Had a takeaway for the first time. food arrived early and hot. For the price of the food, I wouldn't say this is amazing. Lamb vindaloo has huge chunks of fat through the meat. Tandoori mix grill at £15 you'd think you'd get a plain nann like most curry houses, but no. Chicken on the bone and lamb chops were nice, not so much for the rest. Keema nann and chips was OK. But wouldn't recommend a takeaway
