George's Fish and chips are to die for!! I also love his homemade chicken curry! The premises are always clean, the staff are friendly and willing to help. I've never had a bad meal from George's.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is great, we ordered 8 cod bites, large chips and a regular chips which cost £12 in total and fed 2 adults and 4yr old. Parking can be a pain at busy periods as not many spaces out front but shop is nice and clean and food is cooked fresh and locally sourced which i feel makes up for this. I would definately recommend to anyone looking for a great freshly cooked fish and chips!!!

Excellent fish, chips & sausages with a strong selection of food and drink. Some of the food is cooked to order but some may be ready and in the cabinets so you can be in and out in five minutes. Portion sizes can vary a bit, especially with the fish but its all weighed and you'll always get your fill. Friendly staff, consistently good food, options to order online, in person or over the phone for delivery or collections. Very good value for money!

Excellent Fish & Chips, saying that all food in the establishment is Great. Telephone and pre-order your food as its all freshly cooked. Other wise you can queue and wait (but its worth it).

We ordered halloumi burger and large chips, I made the payment and after nearly five minutes passed they said they run out of halloumi and offered the other burger options. We ordered chicken burger then, the order was ready quite quick and the food was warm. At home we saw that the chips was overcooked and burgers quiet dry. Compared with the fish and chips where we buy it's not that good.

We had cod n chips twice, good service, attentive, knew wot they were doing, very pleasant staff. Meal was brill, very tasty, tar tar was excellent, thk u so much, got exactly what we wanted, keep up the GREAT work.

We have been George's Fish Bar Hanhan for some time excellent staff very helpful food excellent we have had cod and plaice always worth the wait.If you order plaice be prepared to wait a few minutes longer while being cooked.Can not recommended them highly enough.

An OK fish and chips takeaway, can be very busy and not much of a car park.

Fish was fab, chips were great, mushy peas were a little on the watery side though. The fish shop has really moved on from when I went in there as a kid, ultra clean and modern counters and overall good quality, six portions of fish 5 regular and 1 large, a pie, two large chips and 3 regular chips was just under £50 so not bad on value. The access ramp for disabled could do with a face lift to match the storm. I wouldn't want to go up it in a wheel chair.. couple of parking spaces out front but limited if you can't park there then there is always the side roads or the blue bowl opposite Overall would say it's very nice was all fresh and tasted good. Have been to a few local that I would say are better but it's not going to stop me recommending. Apparently in the top 50 in the country, how that's worked out I have no idea but can only mean good things

Best chippie in Bristol! Lush food served by lush staff, we love going here far too much! Already recommended to many and will keep doing so. Could maybe add a few more veggie options but the halloumi burger is banging so no biggie.

My boyfriend and I ordered the haddock, cod, chips & tartare sauce and it exceeding expectations. You can tell that the produce is really fresh and the tartare sauce was homemade. We will definitely be visiting again!

Opted for delivery, arrived very shaken about, pots leaking, not especially hot and 35 minutes late. Portion size average, and the salt and vinegar specifications on the order were ignored.. Distinctly average.

Hubby loved the fish bites. Nice welcome service busy place but staff do a great job.

Their is food going out, loads of it, its just being prepared ready for the uber eats and deliveroo customers! Unfortunately they customers that are standing outside obviously come second place to these online customers. I eventually went back in and said I've been waiting 20 minutes in the freezing cold and the said oh we will put a free small bottle of coke in your order - I don't drink coke and would rather have been prioritised like a valued customer like I used to be before you went into business with uber and deliveroo! Wont be coming again - I will take my business to an establishment that still values its core customers. By the way the chips weren't great - more than half were overcooked.

Tried to phone up to delay my order and they said they would just keep it warm. Then on arrival the staff member made me wait to one side when no other customer were there. Five minutes later he called me over and gave me my order. Why he couldn't have just passed it to me I don't know as it had already been paid for online. Meanwhile I got to witness the owner swearing and shouting at all his staff whilst cooking. Then on receipt of the meal. The chips were cold and the cod was the smallest most narrow peice of fish I ever had. It looked like a child's portion. Certainly not worth the expensive £8 i paid for it. I phoned them to complain even offering to return it and all they said was we weigh our fish with no apology or compromise offered. I will never go there again.

Amazing sauces! Best curry sauce, gravy, mushy peas I've tasted in ages, cod bites are incredible, and very generous too. Battered sausage is my fave!!!

The fish and chips were cooked to perfection . Fresh fish , seasoned in a crispy but thin batter. The mushy peas were delicious and I consider myself an expert in this field. they tasted like mushy peas should ...... homemade and seasoned , which makes a real difference. I would not hesitate in recommending.

After a relatively long time closed, Geoge's fish bar is back on the street and open for business. We decided to try it out tonight and wow!!.. we weren't disappointed. Fish and chips at their best, golden crispy chips and the fish was cooked to a turn. Really, really good food and served up in very acceptable wait time. Cooked to order so guaranteed top nosh, you won't be disappointed. Why only 4 stars, the large cod wasn't on offer, so the next time we go I'm sure this will be and that will get the fifth star. Well done for all the hard work you can see that's been put in to get the shop up and running again, great service to the local community.
