Waves Fish & Chips in South Gloucestershire

Just had fish and chips from here...stone cold and the batter was like concrete...waste of money I rekon it was lunchtimes warmed up..last time going in there for food

Good chippy to be fair. The chips themselves are always where one lives or dies in the memory and these were great

First time Visiting this chip shop and wow! Chips are spot on 👍 You get plenty for your money.

Being local i have allways used waves especialy since the local chinese chippy closed during lockdown and covid! ...never had a bad meal from ..normal fish and chips does two of us ect , yes it can be a long wait BUt thats becuase he cooks everything fresh 9 unless you go when it first opens at 5pm then you may get warm ups from lunchtime ..but he usualy has the same oporating procedrue at lunch all cooked fresh! I MUST point out though the review of Neil Kenyon mentioning a kebab ....even though its on the menue board with a big red x through it .i have been going in since opening and NOT ONCE have i seen waves doing kebabs ! ..great food ect the only thing i will say to avoid is the gravy! ....had it 2 times and each time it was like glue with lumps in it ....he obv uses gravy granules for it and the more you leave gravy made with those the thicker and lumpier it gets ( i know was a cook in a pub!) so thats the only bad thing i have to say!

Recently went here as is local to us and our fish and chips was really lovely. Tasty and lovely batter on the fish too. Service was a little slow but absolutely was worth the wait. So glad I found this place which is much closer and nicer than the other one we would have gone to.

Great size to the portions, the batter was nice and crispy and the chips were tasty. All fresh and cooked well and the little crispy bits of batter I found in my chips were awesome! Very reasonable price and they offer a pensioners fish and chips. I'll definitely be back 😋

Excellent meal and massive servings. No previous knowledge of this shop and it was daunting as the place appeared deserted when we arived. We were starving hungry, so we took a punt thinking 'at least it's food' and there's nowhere else about that we fancied. Huge and very pleasant surprise, really quick service, extra large portions of excellent quality fish and chips. Will certainly be going back, just hope this was the normal customer experience.

This is not our nearest fish & chip shop but is definitely worth the journey. Fish & chips exactly how they should be. Very generous portions, perfect fresh fish, light crispy batter, excellent chips. Expertly cooked to order. Like a lot of top notch takeaways this place is underwhelming in appearance. But step inside, place your order & take away a five star treat. Spoil yourselves. It really is that good.

Fantastic fish and chips. Portions massive. £7.50 for medium. Could not finish it. One between 2 of us would have been enough. Going back tonight for another fish supper. Can't wait. 🤗

Superb, freshly cooked food as always. I've used this reliable chippy many times over the past couple of years and it is consistently excellent. Great value too. The batter is always tasty, light and crisp - not slimy inside like many places. The cod is always very large and fresh. What's not to love about this place? Nothing - it's simply brilliant!

Although open, at 8.20pm on Saturday, they had run out of chips and I was turned away. So be careful of the time and avoid going within 30 minutes of closing to avoid a wasted journey and disappointment.

If you're in the area, pop into this place. It's an experience. Great burger and fish and chips and really reasonable.

Rude and very disrespectful. Had fish from there it was dry and tasted nasty. I confornted him and he was very rude. Will not be going in there again. The bloke need to learn better customer service skills and needs to be nicer.

Must say was pretty poor. Chips scabby not a friendly atmosphere.
