Great chip shop! Served by young Farzin tonight, who was brilliant!

Really great first experience trying fish and chips in Bristol! a must try halal option with a range of fresh kebab meat, fish types and burger meals. Cant fault the service or cleanliness of the store at all!

Farzad is a lovely gentleman. He treated us with such a friendly nature about him. He made sure our chips were crispy just the way we like them. Great service & delicious fish & chips! Thank you guys

Chips were stale and burnt , nuggets also smell burnt and I ordered chicken burger that has no sauce no salad nothing just peti and bun , fish also burnt from the sides and was very small

I called in to get 2 x Fish & Chips on Sunday 21st July aprox 9.25pm and was served by 9 yr old Farzin (it was his birthday that day) - he was working helping out his dad. It was such a fabulous experience - the food was piping hot and cooked to order and absolutely delicious !! Farzin was a brilliant staff member, kept me entertained chatting about football etc while I was waiting for my food - and he will go far with his great personality and spark ! thank you all at Soundwell Chippy - I will definitely be back ! First time going here ,I was greeted by owner who was very welcoming, food was fresh cooked as it was late ,so had to wait ,in retrospect I should have rang my order through, so it would been ready for me to.collect ,Price is like all chip shops and portions were good .fish was cooked well and not greesy as I have found in other chip shops and Chinese takeaways.chips.were.not too crispy and we're nice and soft in the centre. Will recommend to anyone who asks. Overall good food at good price and good sirvice

Just met the owner Farzad, he was a really lovely guy. Wanted to know about my day and shared some stories. Fish and chips were great too. It’s now my new local go to. I ate them too quick to get a good picture 👌

My family and I were welcomed with big smiles, and our orders were taken fast . Mr Frzad always has a smile and a listening ear. It is very inclusive, and the fish and chips are out of this world 🌎 😋

My husband ordered a wing of chicken we had large chips ans Curry sauce the meal was fantastic. Chicken was crispy like we asked for. The chips were crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. Food was 10/10 delicious. The customer service was also fantastic i was so impressed we will definitely be going back. Hot fresh yummy food 😋

After being ignored by the young girl sat on a stool behind the counter who was obviously reading something of great importance on her mobile which was glued to her hand finally got her attention by calling out. £6 for 2 small battered sausages and regular chips. Both awful. Won't be back.

Closes earlier than they claim to be open until. Poor service normally but they are very close to me so I keep foolishly hoping for better.

Went to this fish & chip shop last Sunday and what lovely cod fish 🐟 and we only got one portion of chip regluar size, which was plenty enough for both of us. We will back thanks. Very clean and tidy inside. Friendly man cooking fish and nice young lady served us.

Went for a Saturday evening takeaway. One order of cod and chips and another of a couple of battered sausages. Sausages had hardly any batter on them and might as well have been just fried sausages. Very poor, probably the worst I have ever had from a shop that I have always recommended to others. Time to find another chip shop now.

Recently discovered, it's a little bit further than local chippy, worth the extra 5 minutes.

Gone down hill a bit since my last visit...pity as it was good

The large cod for £7.50 it was alot smaller than I expected and there was a chuck missing out of it before it was battered. The chips were a little dry aswell. The girl who was serving was nice, but the man cooking was rude. The donor kebab was good. Last time I will be going there

Very disappointed! The last time we used this place was not good either but thought we'd give them a second chance as they used to be really good. Tonight we had chips, curry sauce and a fishcake. The fishcake was fine. Curry sauce had a funny twang and the chips were absolutely awful. Not fully cooked and a strange taste. Perhaps it's the oil they use? Unfortunately, we won't be using this place again. Maybe if you do, ask for a chip to taste first!

I last wrote a review of this chippy 6 years ago, so this is an update. In those 6 years little has changed, still decent portions, lovely fish and Pukka Pies (the best chippy pies). The prices are keen still, Fish and Chips £2 cheaper than the Tower in Kingswood.

A great chippy, reasonably priced and good value food. Staff are always friendly especially the guy who works here always smiling.

Sad this chippy has hit a low after many years of being a great chippy. Food was far from bad but nowhere near as good 4/10 shame hoping new owners can bring it back to top notch

Great little chippy, just past the leisure centre, so you can treat yourself after a workout 😉 A bit tricky parking, but you can normally find a place. Lots of traditional items on the menu to choose from, Fish, Pies, fishcakes, sausages (battered or unbattered).Meal deals and kids meals, drinks etc and even mushy peas, pickled onions and pickled eggs, if that's what takes your fancy! Chips and fish are always freshly made, so expect a very small, worth while wait. Portions are generous, so bare this in mind as a large chips is plenty for 2 Adults and 2 kids! Reasonably priced too, so won't break the bank. Proper chippy chips with loads of salt and vinegar, go on, you know you want to 😋

Completely forgot about this chippy with Mario's and others in staple hill. But this is the go to chippy food is always hot and tastes great along with the salad. A must try if you haven't been.

Would give a lower score but wouldn't let me the chips was not chips more like potatoes so undercooked, the fish tasted like it has been in the freezer for a year still with grizzle and skin and the battered sausages had half the batter missing. I rate this chippy as the worst in Bristol would highly recommend avoiding 🤢

Excelente Chippy. Por lo general, el bacalao es de tamaño generoso y está muy bien cocinado. Las patatas fritas también son buenas y son porciones de tamaño decente, mi hijo y yo generalmente compartimos una pequeña porción. Absolutely vile this chip shop use to be ok but has gone down hill big time waited 20 mins for just chips sausage and gravy the sausages where over cooked and had hardly no batter on them I may aswell paid for a plain sausage the chips tasted like fish and look at the gravy it's like bloody syrup needless to say wish I didn't bother as I chucked it in the bin do the right thing and drive straight past disgusting 🤢
