Food is always hot and fresh. Staff are always friendly. For somewhere local i would highly recommend this place

I took my husband here for his birthday. We ordered Sunday lunch and were asked in advance what we wanted. I said turkey and beef. When we arrived the restaurant was practically empty which was a concern in itself. Anyway, we ended up with hard pork chops instead of turkey and the fattiest piece's of beef you could imagine. The whole event was an absolute disaster and the female who served us was totally unsympathetic and money grabbing. I certainly won't be going back. What an absolute disaster

Lovely ambience, superb food and choice, all washed down with brilliant service

I have been here a number of times now and I can confirm their Mezze dishes, main meals, desserts and the Sunday roast are all really tasty with very generous portions. There are many vegetarian options - I think I have ordered something different every time (but always the vegi moussaka - yum). The service has been good every time. If I could wish for one additional thing that they don't have, it would be the addition of a chilled (non-larger) beer on tap.

The food, service, atmosphere, price was absolutely exceptional. The food was really well prepared and was delicious hat down to the chef. Elena who cares for us during our visit was really lovely very friendly and welcoming. Definitely going back and highly recommend.

Lovely food, quick service. Order almost correct, but to be fair there were 8 of us and we ordered 3 dishes each. My 3 were Greek Salad, Chicken thighs in Persion spices and Whitebait. All 3 delicious and good value

Had an excellent meal at the Green Dragon, plenty of choice, nice atmosphere. The waiters/waitresses were attentive, not too on top of you, the restaurant was buzzing.

Food was delicious and decently priced. Lots on the menu, although could do with a few more vegetarian options. Only thing I didn't really like was that they packed everyone in together even though they had space to spare. Well worth a visit. I'll definitely return next time I'm in the area.

Visited on a Thursday evening. The service was brilliant, really professional and staff had clearly been trained. All of the Mezze were served attractive and portion size good. My pan fried cod was sublime and the star of the show. Toilets were clean and functioning. Wine was delicious and Prosecco served with cherries. Can’t wait to return.

4 couples all in their mid 70's met up for a reunion as old school friends (Filton High School). Yes it was a Wednesday lunchtime so quite quiet but the service we received was both friendly and efficient. The food we ordered was well presented and thoroughly enjoyed. We were lucky with the weather so able to sit outside for coffees after the meal which can't go without comment on the really lovely, friendly and helpful French young woman that served us. Sadly I didn't get you name but your banter with us oldies helped make our reunion even more memorable.

The place was buzzing. Visiting family in Bristol, my daughter booked a place she could trust. She said we would love it. And we did. Friendly warm welcome on arrival and attentive service with a smile throughout. Excellent food quality. I recommend the Mezze Mixed Grill... but the other dishes consumed were a knockout as well. I will definitely be coming back again to try some of the seafood dishes. There is so much to choose from. Had no room for dessert as I filled up on Thatchers Gold. The way to my heart is most definitely through my stomach. My heart is full. Keep up the excellent standard, and thanks for your hospitality. You can be very proud of your team.

Ate off lunchtime menu. Sat in back garden away from traffic so could hear birds instead of vehicles. Food and service lovely. Less than £30 for three. Will definitely go again. Highly recommended.

I regularly go to the mezze at the Green Dragon and always enjoy the experience. I normally have tapas style dishes and love that me and my partner can pick and choose a variety of different options. The service has always been excellent and the staff really go above and beyond. On one occasion the drinks from the barrel tasted off so the staff were very apologetic and made it up to us with free drinks. They are attentive and really friendly. Sometimes they do get busy so I always call up beforehand to make sure they have space to seat me and my partner. We really enjoy the food there and always leave satisfied so keep going back.

We came here last night for a wonderful birthday Mezze meal. I last came to the Green Dragon for Sunday Lunch about 15 years ago. Everyone ate Sunday lunch except me, I had Mezze. It was the best one I'd ever tasted in this country apart from eating Mezze abroad. The service last night was impeccable. Very helpful & friendly waiting staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We met friends there & had a drink first in the bar area. Very comfy bar stools. We didn't feel rushed to get to our table. The food was exquisite. I had King prawn harissa, Beef Stifado & Goats cheese brushetta. For dessert I had Backlava with Turkish delight ice cream. Absolutely delicious 😋 All excellent courses. Everyone had different mezze dishes. I was drinking zero Bierre which tasted exactly like the original beer. I asked what red wine they usually serve. Shiraz is my favourite with Malbec a close second. On my next visit I'll definitely have a bottle of that. Everyone enjoyed their food. After a 15 year break from eating at the Green Dragon, it certainly won't be another 15 years until I visit next time. Hopefully we can come back for one of our friends birthdays this year. Thank you everyone for making our evening so special ❤️

From entering the door the service we received was exceptional especially from Ethan. Nothing was too much trouble, he was attentive but not overbearing and exceptionally well mannered. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend.

I've never had a bad meal here, the food is always tasty, at temperature and fab portion sizes. Also the Turkish delight ice cream is to die for and the cocktails are the real deal! 👌🏼💯

Staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. Menu was extensive, particularly thought the lunch menu was very reasonable. Good portions and tasty food. My only qualm would be the lack of alternative milks for drinks. Minimal in the grand scheme of things but something that might be good to introduce to encourage people to stay a little longer whilst socialising.

Came here years ago and it was a disaster. NOW it's modern, buzzing and has great food. Lovely service that was attentive and polite. Really nice restaurant and would highly recommend.

We visited on a Monday evening to celebrate my partner's job interview success. For a Monday evening, there were more customers than I expected, which is probably an indication of its popularity and attraction. It's an elegant venue, one especially suitable for a celebration. We were served efficiently and courteously by Mādā. Choosing from the main courses menu, we selected Persian chicken souvlaki and pan fried fillet of cod, both excellently prepared and presented. For dessert, we chose Mezze classic chocolate Brownie and Turkish ginger & pistachio baklava. Great value for money, it was our second visit in three months, and it won't be our last. I recommend it highly.

Lovely meal with lots of options. The food was great, and we loved the tapas dishes and selections. The staff were a bit Direct and grumpy when serving us but everything flew out and it felt the post food venue we had hoped for a celebration meal.

What a great place! Loved every single mezze dish we had. Each one was so full of flavour and very well thought out, especially the halloumi dolmades. Great choice of mezze options and main meals, as well as drinks. We will certainly be back soon!

Pouring with rain on the day of our visit no room to park in the tiny car park so we dropped off our family and ended up parking in the CO-OP car park and walking to the restaurant,the food and service was excellent!

Fantastic food with good portion sizes and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend their Sunday beef roast and Grecian Kleftico. The meat was delicious. This is my new favourite Sunday lunch place.

The decor could be a little more authentic and cosy with some soft furnishings to absorb the loud chat or separate the large area into smaller spaces as it’s all hard floors and can be loud but would definitely go back.

Lovely food, this is our 2nd visit and it never fails to disappoint. Menu has a great selection.

This place had been recommended, as very busy we booked. Arrived at desk and waited over 5 mins before anyone even acknowledged us standing there. In that time 4 members of staff walked past us!!!!! Wasn't very happy particularly when the person I assume was the manager marched up and snapped " NAME". She took us to our table and once we were seated we then received pleasant treatment from other staff. The food was excellent, what a shame the initial greeting wasn't the same.

All the tapas were very well prepared and delicious. We enjoyed it. The atmosphere was friendly, and the waitress was efficient.

Used their takeaway service for my wife's birthday and food, as always, was lovely. The meals were for 12 of us and it was all spot on, well packed and ready for collection at the stated time. Only one minor observation, could the containers be marked with what's inside as it took a while to sort out what was what. Other than that it was a great birthday takeaway meal in the garden at home!

Excellent choice and value. Went on a Monday evening when there was 20% off their deal of 3 tapas plates for £14.95. Shared 6 with a friend, really delicious good quality food. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and again good sized portion very tasty. Only downside was how chilly it was, as we were eating outside due to covid restrictions. Large cocktail menu, friendly staff , will be back.

We went for Tapas a while ago so when we found out they were doing take away we were so excited to try the food all over again.We went to pick up the food at 7 which wasn't ready for a further 30 minutes. But we were excited still to eat the food again. We got it home and it smelt great. But once we had started trying the food it all went downhill. The chicken in my Pesto chicken was brown and didn't taste nice at all. The sesame chicken was dry. The Brie was stone cold. The lasagne was so claggy. It all got chucked out so £30 of food wasted.I completely understand that everyone is finding there feet again after being shut down but I don't expect to spend money on food that is that bad it gets thrown away. Thoroughly disappointed.

After days of trying to find somewhere to go for lunch and being unsuccessful, my cousin seen on Facebook that The Green Dragon was doing first come first serve outdoor dining.We arrived at 10 to 12 and there was plenty of tables. We were served almost instantly and the food came out within 20 minutes. Which is fantastic considering everywhere else at the moment is taking nearly an hour to get served, let alone waiting for food and drinks to arrive!!The food was absolutely 10/10. 3 people, 3 dishes each, fed us until we were full and there was leftovers!Cocktails were also insane, plenty of alcohol in them too!Definitely worth every penny and can't wait to return soon!

Had a takeaway due to Covid. Food ready on time and have to say was quite tasty. If it had been the food we ordered it would be five stars but a third of it wasn’t. Bit of a problem that.

Due to the COVID-19 situation we decided to have a takeaway for our daughter birthday The takeaway Mezze at the Green Dragon looked really interesting and although we had seen a few bad trip reports decided we would try them as we had never been to the Green Dragon or had a takeaway of this size or type beforeWhat a result we picked out various dishes to make a large combination and added extras My wife phoned ahead and put in a very big order on the morning and I called to collect on the way home from a fishing trip On arriving I was a little early so I made myself known at the door and went and sat in the car until our order was ready to collect The food was laid out like a buffet at home and everyone helped themselvesIt was fabulous nothing like any takeaway we had ever had before and that is saying something the meal came to £50 after their generous discount plus there were lots of extras put In added for free We can definitely recommend any to try this Mezze Takeaway it was super easy and a wonderful resultThank you to all the people at Green Dragon especially the chefs who had prepared our food Top Class

We have eaten here a few times but this is the second takeaway we have had from the Mezze. The menu has a wide choice and the food is well cooked. A three portion mezze generally lasts us for two meals as the portion sizes are excellent. Fantastic value and if it helps keep the place going until we return to normality then that's a win-win.

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the place was quite busy. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a selection of mezze dishes from the extensive menu. The food arrived quickly and all dishes were brought out at the same time. All of the portions were a good size and we realised that we had probably over ordered! The food was ok, known of dishes blew me away. The beef stifado sauce was tasty but the meat was very tough. None of the dishes were awful but I can’t say I was impressed by the food. I think we will give it another another go maybe for dinner next time.

I visited last night and was so looking forward to the food as it’s always been amazing. I came with 3 friends and we ordered 12 dishes to share. Well what can I say...... the portion sizes have defiantly changed talk about tiny amounts. We had a potato dish which consisted of 6 cubes of potato we ordered a chickens skewer dish which arrived with just 1 skewer for 4 of us with 4 small chunks of chicken on the stick. Our bill came to £110 we all had a drink and HAD to have desert to fill ourselves up as we were so hungry still after the tiny amounts of food.I’m so disappointed and will never be going here again.

Best mezze in BristolBeen here a few times since lock down [as it was so good first time] and on each occasion the food has been really good. Had everything from Lamb shank/burger and mezze. All really good but for me the mezze is the outstanding choice. Loads to choose from with fish/meat/veggie all available for 3 dishes for £15. Represents really good value and good size portions. Plenty of outdoor seating at front or back if weather is nice. What also makes this place nice is you are always greeted with a friendly welcome and good service. Real nice feel. Great Covid measures in place with a one way system also in place.

We came here to take advantage of the Gov's EOTHO offer and we weren't disappointed! Not only did we get that offer but because we went on a Tuesday we got a further 20% off - bargain! I have been coming to the Mezze since it opened and it went through a dodgy patch a few years ago but it's definitely sorted that out and has new owners (I think). The restaurant was COVID secure and everything felt clean and spaced out. The food was great, we had many different tapas dishes between us and they were all tasty, hot and decent portions. The desserts sounded nice but we didn't have room! There was a good selection of drinks with decent beer prices. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We'll be back for sure!

Lovely place with really friendly helpful staff. All covid rules have been applied so you feel safe. So many options to choose from I didnt have a main course but those that did had very large portions.

We had a great lunch at the Green Dragon today, and the govt discount was the icing on the cake. The selections are huge, so we had trouble making our six mezze choices! I had a fabulous cocktail from their extensive menu. The service as always was top notch and the Covid hygiene measures were first class. This restaurant is a jewel in Downend’s crown. We certainly felt very safe.
