Unfortunately food was that late one person missed out on their food completely because they had to go to work. Food was also cold and the boxes were squashed

Just eat Courier needs more training, he was at the right location but rang me for house number when it was a flat, he didn't understand or speak good English, then rang back again and asked for car park to deliver, I said no, then he hung up, then my friend who is disable, waved to him, but that took a long while, the food finally was handed over 20 minutes late, 18.29 pm and not 18.13 as wrongly stated. Cos of the very late and incompetent courier, the food had to be reheated! Not shops fault

Chips were cold and 50% of bits not up to standard

fish wad cool I.e. not hot. chips undercooked. won't use again

Gutted that the quality has gone so down hill used to be amazing food from here. Fish was cold and tasted off, ended up having to bin it.

Food was sent out correctly by store, but the confused courier went way pass my address (on his way to Timbuctoo perhaps?!) anyway he eventually arrived but some of the food had to be warmed up again. Good Fryday lady was very helpful, thank you 😊

Really disappointed with our sausage, chips and curry sauce last night. Was meant to be a treat but the chips were mushy and quite a few black and rotten. we had to put them in the air fryer. The sausage was tasteless even the curry sauce wasn't nice. I'm afraid there are much better places in the area!

What can i say but very disappointed, ordered faggots in gravy, where was the gravy? Faggots still pink inside and a mush like texture, fish was nearly all batter, the chips weren't nice, the delivery was quick, sorry wont be ordering again

Arrived 95 minutes after ordering, on a Thursday evening, not even a weekend. When it arrived it was stone cold. It was clear that it was not even sent out hot because the cheese didn't melt on the cheesy chips. They kept pushing the ETA back.AVOID

My parents came all over from India (Calcutta) for vacation and they tried this fish and chips , it was extremely tasty . Very friendly behaviour of the staff . Excellent service . My father said one of the best fish and chips he had in UK. ❤️

First time ordering from Good Frydays and we are very pleased with our food! The chips were proper chip shop chips that you used to get years ago, the cod was huge & tasty and the curry sauce was delicious! Our food arrived at in a very good time considering it was a Saturday. 10/10* we will definitely be back! Thank you for making our Saturday evening enjoyable :)

it was all cold, fish overcooked, dry and had hardly any fish in it, it was all batter, and there were 3 bones in the fish. Chips were okay apart from cold

Very disappointed, chips were horrible. The cod and burger were just ok. I thought with the good rating and high price (£38) for two, it would be a bit special, i was very wrong. Will not bother with these again. Delivery was fast and early.

Usually excellent food but unfortunately on this occasion I was disappointed. Clarks pie was very dry and the chips were hard amd shrivelled up. Like they had been cooked once then warmed up.

Absolutely 💯 !! As a travelling foodie, I'm incredibly critical of restaurants and takeaways. I've just eaten a large fish and chips with curry sauce from Good Frydays and the verdict was easy, that's one of the best fish and chips I've ever had and trust me, I don't miss a meal. Why? Starting with the chips, they are exactly what you hope for when visiting a traditional British chippy, great tasting good quality potatoes, a mouth watering texture and all served perfectly hot, a combination that makes them very moreish. Topped with a great tasting traditional chip shop curry sauce, it's just what the Doctor ordered! Onto the star of the show, the large fish which given it's size, could have been mistaken with a shark! ...super tasty, it was an incredibly chunky piece that was perfectly cooked and piping hot! The batter was golden brown, almost an ale colour which was tasty and not greasy. The crowns on the batter were soo crispy even after driving it home. Personally, I always have my fish and chips separate to avoid creating a sweat box so I recommend this, it's an easy was to spoil any battered fish, let alone what could well be the very best Bristol has to offer, Good Frydays is certainly ahead of any other I've had in Bristol over the past several years. Finally, service. What's a great chippy with the classic experience. I'm pleased to say this also scores a 10. A family business, lovely people who are engaging, genuine and just a pleasure to talk to. I've met the father and son a few times now and every time, I enjoy great chat, they are honestly a very down to earth family that remind people like myself to support local. To conclude, absolutely fantastic job, thank you. My family and I loved our delicious food today and without question, I'll be recommending! Apologies for not capturing a photo way before I started, clearly I was keep to dig in! Until the next time...

After having a lovely day at the park with my two children, went for a bag of chips in the so called "best chipshop in the area" only to get home and be very disappointed, the chips were stale and brown and very undercooked! Very disappointed! Won't be going there again

Disappointed batter on the fish was thick and undercooked and stodgy on the inside.

Very disappointed with fish and chips. The fish was more batter than fish and dryed up, chips were soggy. UPDATE BEEN BACK AND FISH AND CHIPS WAS EXCELLENT.

We tried Good Frydays tonight for the first time and we were not disappointed! The food was just amazing, and the team were super friendly. And with so much to choose from on the menu, Good Frydays is a great choice for a family meal out!

You can't deny that the food here is mostly good. The fish is lovely every time...BUT.... & it is a big BUT, there are some challenging flaws. Ok, it was Good Friday and therfore really busy, you expect that. Unfortunately the 6-7 minutes we were told we would need to wait for food lasted 30 minutes & people were not being served in order of orders being placed. The portions were also ridiculously small, paying over £4 for a portion of chips that didn't even fill half of the container. Probably 2-3 potatoes at most Only started going back recently, the 8pm close does not work for us, although have driven past just after 7.30 and the lights are out! Could be a really good place, if it were open for a reasonable length of time.

Excellent fish and chips as always. It's not on the menu but my son asked if they do battered gherkins. On a whim they had a go as it was quiet, but said that they might not turn out well. They were excellent - thank you!

Absolutely awful. Just bought cod and chips twice. The batter was awful and there was more batter than fish. All the batter was crumbling off in big chunks, wasn't edible had to throw it away.

banging chish and fips guys at the counter were great fellas. service was speedy. in and out in 5 lovely service. cant wait to go again. whole family enjoyed. would recommend definitely after a night on the town.
