White Hart, Littleton Upon Severn in South Gloucestershire

Website says opens at 11 but its actually 12, so we decided to sit in the beer garden & chat. Then the lovely lady working behind the bar came out & asked us did we want to order drinks. She booted up the coffee machine for us which was very kind. Inside is lovely, coffee was nice. Food looked immense but we didn't eat. Def ve back for a Sunday roast!

Comfortable, country pub with friendly, welcoming staff. Best to reserve as can be busy at lunch, though unsurprising given excellent food. Spacious car park. Very dog friendly, so ideal when linked to a riverside walk.

Gorgeous older worlde pub on banks of the Severn. Well worth a visit.

We had a delicious Sunday lunch, £20 Roast beef with all the trimmings. I'd definitely recommend.

Havn't been here for a long time but really wish we had! What a fantastic pub, still has loads of character & Cris was soooo welcoming when we arrived, what a great guy!! We had a table by the log fire, perfect on such a cold day. The food was fantastic, so much so that we have booked for a Sunday lunch to take some friends & I know they will love it! Thanks very much to Cris & the team, you are a real credit to this pub!

Excellent Sunday roast . I had the beef , others in our group had chicken . Nicely presented and lovely food. Service was good and food arrived promptly. 5 Stars without a doubt.

What a find on the recommendation of a friend who praised the local pies. Wow, and how delicious are they and quite different from the regular. The menu simply states "Pie of the day" but I suggest that, come what may you savour one of these that is surely cooked with red wine. Absolutely scrumptious. Service by the delectable Cadina was first rate too with a welcoming smile and very prompt service. I shall be returning shortly.

Had a great meal yesterday at lunchtime. The service and the food were outstanding and I would thoroughly recommend.

We booked here for my wife's 40th. We were a little dubious as was table of 12 with 4 kids and 2 dogs. It's always a bit of additional pressure with a big table on a Sunday, however they accommodated perfectly. The service from Connor was excellent very polite , freindly and attentive, as we're the rest of the team. The food... WOW. We had roast. Pork and Beef. It was amazing. The plates were polished off by everyone. I'd reccomend the cauliflower sides too. Honestly reccomend the White Hart to all and will 100 percent be going back. Well done to everyone and thank you for making it a great birthday meal. 👏

The meal took a little longer to come than expected. However. Cadina waa very pleasant and obliging.

Had a meal on 11/1/25. Arrive at pub and was faced with a dirty table. We ordered our drinks and food together. One drink being a passionfruit martini. When drinks arrived i was given a made up pink cocktail as was told no ingredients for drink ordered. After waiting 25mins for food, the waiter told us the ticket machine had broken and order had only just gone through. After waiting another 20mins we were given our mains, the starters we ordered had been completly forgotten. Whilst eating our main course our starters then arrived! Our waiter then appologised and offered a discount. However, when paying our bill the original waiter had gone and no discount had been applied and I was charged more for the made up pink cocktail I didnt order. The food itself was lovely but the service was so awful, it was almost funny.

Friendly efficient service from cadina. Food was ok, the area was really cold though which would definitely put me off going back.

Country pub with lots of different seating areas, 2 large fireplaces, a great beer garden for the summer, large car park, no Guiness shortage, dog friendly, they have board games for people to use, staff are all very friendly and helpful, the Christmas lunch they did this year was amazing. The food in the past had been a bit inconsistent at times but recently the food has been exceptional everytime we've been, so we'll be there more often!

The staff here go above and beyond and are so helpful. We were a large group and our waitress was great. All the other staff were really helpful too. Food was good and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

A great family meal. A very warm welcome from Costel and his wife. The food was delicious, fresh and big size portions. Great value for money. Also dog friendly. I would highly recommend it.

Fabulous Christmas lunch and hospitality!

Four of us met on Saturday 21st December for a meal here. Never been before but it was a halfway point. What a pub! Staff were superb. Very friendly and engaging. Food was awesome. I literally hoovered up the salmon stater it was so delicious. Great atmosphere and such a little gem of a place. It's dog friendly and they had treats and a water station inside. The food was great. If you are shopping at Crabbs then head here before or after. If you're celebrating or just want a lovely place to eat for two head straight here. Absolutely fantastic place and we highly recommend you all go here. Under new ownership and if we weren't moving to Scotland in the new year I'd eat here every weekend. Run here! Don't walk! Just fabulous.

Met friends “halfway” (2 hrs away each) and we had a really relaxed time! We were there soon after opening and the fire was lit for us & we ordered a long time after arrival as we were busy chatting. All the food was delicious and we were all more than happy! Very friendly, pleasant and helpful staff member who seemed to be the only one on duty! Everything was well cooked, especially the vegetables and the fish pie I had was delicious. We have already agreed we’ll meet there again! Thank you….

I was really excited to go here again. The roast dinner is the best roast I’ve had, everything is cooked so well. Harry was really polite and friendly. Even got involved by having a go at Jenga. The atmosphere was great. The service is really good, food and drinks came out at a good time. We were also checked that everything was ok in good time for some more gravy. Thank you for a lovely experience, looking forward to another visit. Love how clean and tidy it is and how well every thing is organised and under control here. Wonderful family friendly place. Welcoming to toddlers and with properly good food. If you're after a place to treat the whole family this will be hard to beat.

I've been coming here once or twice a year for the past 10 years. Last year, I was put off by their roast dinner—it was below par, with the roast potatoes and gravy failing to be the stars of the show. This year, we stopped by just for a drink, and for the first time ever, a pub served me a chilled bitter. After my first sip at the bar, I asked if all the bitters were chilled. A proud 'Yes' was the reply. The server had a foreign accent, so she might be excused for not knowing, but the pub itself should know how to serve beer properly. I see no reason to return now.

Lovely place and attentive staff, unfortunately food (Roast) was very average. Tasteless (frozen vegetables?), plastic cheese, lukewarm, soggy yorkshire puddings. Given it is a chain running the pub it looks like they’re cutting costs in food quality to help the bottom line.

Lovely pub with friendly staff. Sadly when I order fish & chips they didn't have it, then tried to order ham egg & chips, didn't have it. Finally ordered the burger, but they didn't have the lettuce!!! Finally, went to the bar to order a Cider having finished my first one ...yes, they were out of that too. The food we did have was tasty however, we'll come back and try again as the pub and staff were nice, hopefully second time will be slightly less disappointing.

I held a pre-wedding gathering in the pub on Tuesday 3rd September. The staff were so helpful and accommodating despite the chaos. The food was also excellent and came in good time.

Awful food the beef was sliced incredibly thin, overcooked...felt like swallowing nails. Roast potatoes were rock solid in the middle and soggy on the outside, such a shame as I was recommended this place!

Lovely pub in the heart of the village! Really great staff and service - the roast was nice but the roast potatoes were a bit anemic and could have done with beong cooked longer 😪 otherwise, really tasty! Pigs in blankets were truly delicious!!

Came here for my hen do for a Sunday roast, we booked in advance and were guided to our table which only had one other table in the room. The food was swift and the waiting staff were friendly. The roast was very good, would recommend the cauliflower cheese!

We turned up here without a booking on a Sunday and were warmly welcomed into the sunny garden, overlooking the fields. We ordered our meals separately at the bar to avoid bill splits, and this was handled really well. Three of us ordered the roast chicken, not something I usually order as it can be dry, but something pulled me towards the chicken. It was phe-nomenal! A half chicken on the bone, roasted so well that the breast meat was juicy and tender. We even asked for the cooking method (plenty of basting) so we could try and recreate it.. I doubt we will! On top of that the staff were over and above friendly, and ensured I was topped up with gravy after I asked for a second jug. I was in heaven.. I will return for that chicken even though I live in London! Thanks all!

Amazing place, in a lovely setting, food needs a refresh (chips cooked from frozen, bread from a pkt) menu and bar choices were restricted, with food pepped up again it would be my no 1 venue

Lovely dog friendly pub. Food was excellent but there was an issue with drinks. Only one choice of cider (Thatchers Gold) and it was completely flat. When we complained the member of staff acknowledged that he thought it looked wrong & after tasting it himself acknowledged it was. Obviously we were not charged, but very disappointed that there was no other choice of cider. This is West Country pub - you need some back ups!

Sadly, this beautiful old pub isn't what it used to be. Friday night on a bank holiday weekend and by 8.50pm we were the only people there. No steaks because they hadn't been delivered, and no cheese board, so 2 of our party looking for something else. Meals delivered were OK ish but certainly not anything to rave about. Gnocchi bland and lacking presentation, burger could have been warmer and would have looked more appealing if it had a garnish on the plate, pie of the day , had far better. Sausage and potatoes, not bad . The good thing was the staff. Pleasant, polite, and apologies for the lack of steaks and later the cheeseboard. Couldn't fault them. Would hope that it was just a bad night, but I'm not sure.

Booked a table for 6 for Sunday roast. A mixture of beef, pork and vegetarian ordered. All received at the same time. Table service was friendly, with a cosy pub feel inside. Lots of seating outside, dog friendly inside and outside and accommodating for young children also. Parking available to the rear with an orchard with picnic benches also, disabled parking also available.

Nice pub, nice beer garden, nice clientele, lots of dogs, within walking distance of the Severn Estuary. Staff had a tenancy to faff around with peripheral stuff while leaving customers queued at the bar to be served; not a good impression. People say the deserts are to-die-for but did not test this for ourselves this time.

We were cycling the Avon Cycleway and passing here at 1215, so we dropped in to check if food was being served. It was, and what a treat👌 The comprehensive menu has some great choices, and we both went down the sandwich path - haddock fish fingers+ tartare for me and slow cooked beef + horseradish for ladyship. The £2.50 fries we shared were excellent too😉 Many thanks to chef and Chloe for making it a very worthwhile stop for lunch. We were well stuffed! 5 stars all round👍

Turned up for a meal at lunch, based on the website saying food service time is 12-9pm and a sign outside saying food and bar snacks served all day. Once drinks were ordered we asked about food, only to be told the kitchen was closed until 5pm. Asked about the bar snacks...managed to get 2 packets of Crisps! Bar snacks to me is a scotch egg, sausage roll, etc. Drinks were fine, but difficult to rate anything else. No atmosphere apart from another couple that clearly came in hoping for food, rest of the pub was pretty empty!

As always a great pub with great indoor and outdoor space. Staff were polite and helpful but had to chase drinks and food due to delays in service. Food was great quality and good wine selection.

Great place for a sunny day drink. Don’t bother with the food. Several tables waited over an hour for food to be served. Some walked out. The menu is nothing like advertised. Staff stressed and full of excuses.

We have been coming here for years, unfortunately it has taken a turn for the worst, long waiting times for food, staff over stretched, (great staff, doing their best) food very good, however the outside areas look scruffy and the wait for the food and drink was just too long. Such as shame as this place has such potential. Such a lovely setting.

Outstanding, was recommended by Costa to try the Surf and Turf, it's the best food in memory! Beautiful country pub, passionate staff and best in class food. Thank you to all of you.We will be back.

Out of 9 people sitting at one table, only two meals didn't appear. We asked about them and they eventually brought meals that we didn't order. Apparently they had mislaid our order somewhere between the bar and the kitchen. These were only sandwich lunchtime meals not main dinner meals. When they eventually arrived, the rest of our party had finished. I couldn't believe how long they took to prepare a few slices of tomato on sourbread with feta cheese and olives...plus done chips. Very disappointed with the wait. However the food tasted very nice. Not even an apology from the staff.

Visited for Sunday lunch on Father’s Day, food was excellent, staff went above and beyond for the tables running a spin the wheel game for the fathers.

I wasn't going to review my last visit because I like the beer garden for relaxing drinks, however the White Hart asked for feedback, via an email: Booked a table for 2 at 12pm 28th Aug. We arrived, staff lovely, taken to table where one seat was completely blocking a doorway so I had to keep getting up and moving to allow people to pass! I asked to move and we were taken to another table for 2, this was a bit better but was CRAMMED in between larger tables, this was not the relaxing lunch experience I was after! We decided to eat outside, tables well spaced out and even though it was busy it was lovely. We had checked the online menu before booking and many items were not available, however we chose 1 x starter of smoked salmon (they had run out of orange so said it would come with asparagus), 1 x burger and fries, 1 x haddock and fries (I asked if the fish was fresh opposed to frozen and I was told it was fresh). Starter arrived but they'd forgotten the asparagus, salmon was ok but the food was drowned in an overpowering sauce. Burger was basic and alright, overpriced for what it was though. Batter on fish was good but fish tasted as though it had been frozen and carried so much water, not just succulent but wet! Tartare sauce lacked zing and pea puree/mashed peas were basic but ok. Fries were ok. There was no salt in the salt grinder and no one around to ask for a replacement. No one came to check on our food at any stage. Neither of us finished our meals which isn't like us! I've eaten far better food in nearby pubs (one just down the road, if you're driving, and with a delightful garden) and prices are better too! Cappuccino was very good! To sum it up: Lovely beer garden for a coffee. Lovely staff. Inside - too cramped, could defo lose a few tables! Food - nothing special, on the pricey side for what it is.

We visited for Sunday lunch and were sat inside. The atmosphere was pretty flat and there were only 2 couples sat where we were. The staff we attentive and pleasant. I did have a wait a long time when I ordered a 2nd drink and had almost finished my meal before it arrived. We ordered roast which was very average and lack vegetable. The parsnips were under cooked. we ordered a side of cauliflower cheese which did warrant the £7.50 price tag and should have been half the price. This is a great summer pub, if sat outside, and I feel it’s more geared toward the standard pub food as opposed to roasts

The food was lovely and the location was great! We had a long wait for food, one of the three meals came out after about 45 minutes and the two other meals took an hour and 20 minutes with us asking different members of staff what was happening 3 times, each one saying it would be a few minutes. Very frustrating as we were in a rush to leave to catch a ferry, and hard to understand how a roast would take so long to plate up as it must all be cooked in bulk on a Sunday. The waiter said to go to the bar once we’d finished as they might be able to do a refund but no guarantee, we had to eat our food quick and rush off so didn’t get a chance to ask. It’s a shame that the experience wasn’t good as the pub itself and location was lovely.

There can be no doubt that this is a very nice pub with a glorious garden. It can come as no surprise that it attracts a broad collective of walkers, young families and locals - especially on a sunny day in May. The staff are very nice and the food is not bad at all. However, the wait of over an hour from ordering of the food is not acceptable and impacted on our overall experience. I would further add that it was a great shame that the excuse for the delays was straight out of the top 10 excuse playbook and really felt that this could have been handled better and more honestly.
