Coffee at Lyde in South Gloucestershire

We were out walking on a Friday afternoon and scurried into this community café because it had started to rain. We had dressed for moderately wet weather, but the wind was in our faces and thus better avoided. Besides the chance to have a sit-down, and a coffee, was too good to ignore. The community café here in Lyde Green is housed in the community centre and, being well-after lunch-time, it was not too busy. We ordered two medium sized Americano Coffee’s with hot milk from the pleasant waitress at the servery. The coffee arrived promptly and it was acceptably hot, but sadly it was not very strong. It lacked the rich bitter flavours that we particularly like when we have a coffee out. The cost was £2.75 per medium-sized cup, so it was about the going rate, but other local cafés provide a better, and stronger, cup of coffee.

Nice coffee shop, not the biggest of cake selections but a good choice on the menu. Relaxed atmosphere and parking directly out the front. Loyalty stamp card also available.

Nice little cafe in the Community Centre. Can get a bit noisy inside but plenty of outside seating. Normally a good selection of gluten free cakes.

Kelly and her team provided 26 of us, with an amazing tea yesterday. Everything was so beautifully presented on vintage plates. The chocolate maltesers birthday cake she made was amazing. Vegetarian and gluten- free diets were provided for. She had de-caff drinks and even green tea, which someone requested. The cafe may not have the ambience of a country house hotel but the warmth and friendliness more than makes up for that and with our balloons, we were able to create a party atmosphere. Kelly charges very reasonable prices, so if you are thinking of organising an event, I thoroughly recommend it.

Not coming here again had to wait over nearly a hour for my very small breakfast......very very slow staff .....considering work on a local biulsiye ihad to have my both breaks at once .....not a happy chappie

Had a lovely morning at the café today. Super friendly staff, with a fab selection of tasty homemade treats and breakfast too. Wonderful to have a local coffee shop, will definitely be back again soon!

I visit coffee at lyde a few times a week. The staff are fantastic, they take the time to get to know you and your family. The coffee is amazing, the homemade cakes are to die for and the hot and cold food menu is great (I'm working my way down the whole menu). They hold lovely events for children to celebrate Halloween,Easter etc..and this always includes lots of yummy things to eat!!

Absolutely love our visits to Coffee at Lyde both before and after school, for coffee, for cake for tea. We love the variety of food and drink on offer and there is always a welcome smile and friendly face to greet us. We also love the children’s events they put on seasonally. Highly recommend a visit to this amazing cafe.
