Great service and sensibly priced cocktails. A hidden gem for a pre- dinner drink

Dreadful puns colada which was watery and tasted of no alcohol. They refused to exchange or refund. Waitress sullen poor experience. And a expensive.

The guy who served myself and my family was lovely. The cocktails were great, the place was lovely and clean and there was even free women's products in the toilet which amazed us! Thank you Brook's!

This could be a 5 star review had it not been for the barman's condescending comment. He only really should have just recorded better how many payments he took.

Went for a few drinks with some friends and the owner/manager was very rude and abrupt , the staff were friendly but he wasn’t, a very unprofessional attitude , runs his in own business and talks to customers like poo . I feel sorry for the staff who work there , they even apologised to me for how he spoke to us . I rarely give negative reviews as I know how hard a hospitality business is to run and I know people make mistakes , but on this occasion this has to be done .

My wife and I had an awesome evening. The place is trendy and fun. All the staff even the owner was so friendly and accommodating even help with suggestions on what to have next based with what we previously had ordered. Thank you you guys are great. The Caipirinha couple :-)

First time I went the drinks were great. This time they were poor. At £70 for 10 cocktails I would expect better. Reply. Just because your boss is top at his job does not make me or my party of 5 feel any better. When asked what was in one of our drinks the waitress couldn't even tell us, so clearly not as trained up as you think. P.S. Reviews are meant to help companies improve their service. Sorry you missed my point. I'll remove a star. Ty

Brook’s is a lovely and welcoming cocktail bar and a great place to head to on the high street for a drink (or three!). They have a wide variety of cocktails from around the world, all competitively priced and delicious! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a fun night out, or a quick one after work on a sunny afternoon. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean and tidy, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. A regular haunt!

Ignorant manager!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, went there with a few girlfriend's was really looking forward to a good night out. The man that owned the bar was so unprofessional and as soon as we walked in he was unpleasant to my friends and he chose not to come to our table to take any further orders for no reason! , when i approached him about this he became very aggressive and used bad language, he was very unpleasant. I asked for an apology but he became very angry and swore at me, i was Shocked!! I have never been made to feel so unwelcome on a night out, i am local to this area and me and my family and friends eat and drink around many of the bars and restaurants in chipping sodbury and we have never been treated like this. At this moment in time with Covid-19 i am all for supporting local businesses, but im sorry to say that because of the terrible and unprofessional attitude of this man i will not be returning. I feel sorry for his staff and i must say they all were so kind and professional and they had to apologise for him.

Wasnt very well managed, seniors seemed to be arguing..disappointing really, no hospitality whatsoever.....wont bother again.

I visited the bar yesterday evening (Saturday) with my husband. The bar looked warm and welcoming from outside and we were given a warm welcome by a staff member as soon as we entered. Hand sanitiser was available at the door and we were shown to a table and asked to complete a Track and Trace form. It was reassuring to see that guidelines were being followed - we’ve visited other places recently which don’t seem to be so strict. Our order was taken by a friendly, smiley waitress and brought to the table quickly. We stayed for a few drinks and tried some of the different cocktails, some of which are apparently exclusive to the bar. I really enjoyed my drinks, especially the “Indian Summer” shooter I had as a nightcap before we left - the best tasting drink I’ve had for a long time! I believe it’s the owner who makes the cocktails and he definitely knows his business, the ones I had were so good. The bar was busy, I think most or all of the tables were full, but not uncomfortably so (probably due to it being tables only). Everything was very clean - including the toilets where I was very impressed to see free sanitary supplies for ladies who might need them - so thoughtful! In all we had a great evening and we will certainly go back again.

Stuffy and uncomfortable temperature. Greeted on arrival and then seated with Covid-19 measures in place and ordering by waitress service. We were then ignored for 20minutes until we gave up, left and went to Sodbury Steak House/Squire where we were served immediately. Wouldn’t return.

Service from the lady was nice she was bubbly and kind, drinks were served fairly quickly was fairly quiet in the bar but as soon as we were served she was straight on her phone which doesn't look very good nor professional especially as the owner was stood on the bar with her and didn't mention anything to her

Been here twice now and just think they have not got it right in my opinion. Chairs are really uncomfortable ...have tried the different styles! Very noisy when people start talking even when not full...do not like seeing a dog roaming around even though it was put back on a lead. I did not like the cocktails, tried 4 different ones on separate occasion and none mixed right , especially the expresso martini which was watery and insipid. Prices were a bit on the high side for the quality of drinks and would rather go to one of the other bars on Chipping Sodbury high Street. Food offering was also a bit limited especially in the evening and too expensive for my taste. Sorry Brooks.

First time for us, it was ok not what I expected. Friendly staff but a bit disappointed on cocktails, wouldn't b disappointed if couldn't go again

I popped in with a friend and 3 dogs in tow for a quick stop, we had a coffee and hot chocolate. I found the staff extremely welcoming and helpful. One lady in particular went out of her way to give us the best service. I’m sorry I can’t remember her name but I highly recommend this place. Nice relaxed place for a coffee whilst visiting the area.

Today, we decided to pop in for lunch - bearing in mind we take an hour break from work, and there were only 6 individuals eating, 5 ordering a panini and one tea cake.... it took the unhappy and unbelievably slow individual 55 minutes to prepare and serve out order. Food was brought out all at different times and there was no service with a Smile..... The food was ok once we got it but the experience was dreadful and we will definitely not be back.... we are now late for work and it really was not worth the wait!

An incredibly skilled mixologist. Head over if you'd like a real cocktail made well, and a friendly atmosphere for a bottle of beer or wine.

What a lovely place more people should come . However, if they did breakfast or tea cakes I think it would do a lot better.

Great little cocktail bar in the evening. (Also open for food, I think at lunch, but doesn't do food in the evening.) Nice selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Comfy sofas as well as seats at the bar and window. Can pay by card.

This was our first visit to Brook’s after looking through the window at the weekend seeing it packed, we came back midweek. This pub has a lovely atmosphere. There is a lot of attention to detail. The building, like most in Chipping Sodbury, dates back to the 16th century and has been extensively renovated throughout. I can highly recommend the Orchard cider which you don’t get very often! There are games, comfy chairs so it feels like home. Top marks for the landlord we’ll surely be back!

We stumbled upon this place when heading to our usual coffee shop one weekend, where a sandwich board highlighted drew our attention to its presence. Still new on the highstreet, I can see this venue doing well - with a quirky interior and a lovely view onto the highstreet - and service with a smile. My fiancee was particularly impressed with the hot chocolate - as I was with the bar! As mentioned, the staff seem to be keen to make your visit a good one - so I hope Brook's becomes a firm favourite on the highstreet.

Just popped for a drink first time here, 2 very friendly ladies and welcomed by the dog. Loved it here definitely coming back.

My friend and I had our retirement party here a couple of days ago, the bar was very accommodating to what we wanted and all the staff working that evening were fantastic and very welcoming . The cocktail menu was extensive and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back .

Brook has established a fantastic, informal, friendly cocktail venue which fits really well in the High Street. The cocktail menu offers lots of choice and Brook is a very talented mixologist. If the cocktail you are looking for isn't on the menu, just ask! He made a fantastic Old Fashioned for my son on his 18th. Brook has some exciting plans for the food side of this up and coming venue. This venture really deserves people's support and is really starting to gain popularity. Take the time to pop in, whether of an evening for a chilled out cocktail, or during the day for coffee and lunch and enjoy the quirky little touches such as the furniture made out of beer barrels. I strongly recommend this venue!!!

Great cocktails and reasonable price. It can get busy though, had to wait a good 20 minutes. Quick service for normal drinks though. (Friday) Second visit (Saturday) and quick cocktails so it's a 5 stars now 😊

Brook’s Bar and Kitchen is located in a stunning 16th century former coaching house on the High Street of Chipping Sodbury. During the day they serve coffee, tea, alcohol and soft drinks. They also sell delicious cakes and pastries and sandwiches, all handmade daily by The Cottage Bakery. I was waiting to write this review until today (28/05/2019) because I had also been on Saturday - 25/05/2019 for drinks in the evening and thought I would wait until I had tried an afternoon experience. So on Saturday upon recommendations from friends I decided to give Brook’s a try with 3 of my friends, one of them being someone who recommended me to go to Brook’s. Brook’s Bar and Kitchen has only been opened since 30th March 2019 so is still fairly new. Anyway Saturday night was lovely! It was quite busy in there but a nice chilled bar atmosphere - not too loud or crowded and not full of young people. We managed to get a table with no trouble at all and then headed up to the bar to get some drinks. The cocktails were all incredible - strong but nice tasting and beautifully made. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming at Brook’s which really adds to the experience. During the evening I enquired about making reservations as I wanted to make a reservation for 28/05/2019 for 3 people for lunch for my partners 30th Birthday. The staff were really accommodating and I was told at the moment they are only doing sandwiches, cakes, pastries etc which to be honest was exactly what I was looking for. I made a reservation for 2 adults and 1 child for 12:30 and I was able to select in advance what sandwiches we would like. We stayed in Brooks on Saturday night for quite a while before moving on at 22:50. I loved it on Saturday night so couldn’t wait to try an afternoon at Brook’s. We arrived there today almost bang on 12:30 and it was quite quiet however I didn’t mind that at all. Once again the staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating and the food was delicious - the sandwiches were so fresh and tasty and great quality ingredients. Brook’s is clean and tidy and the toilets are also in good condition. Another note about the toilets is that the ladies contain sanitary products should people need to use them which is a nice touch as most places do not offer this. The founder, owner and bartender has travelled around the world and has international qualifications in mixology. I will 100% be going back to Brook’s again! My only improvement would be more advertisement - if I’m honest I think unless someone has told me it was there I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad I know about it now as I loved it.

Brooks Bar and Kitchen, is an independent wine and cocktail bar situated in the heart of the busy market town of Chipping Sodbury. Now despite the word kitchen in the title there isn’t a great deal of food on offer. However my visit was on an evening when they may have stopped serving food? The only menus on the tables where drinks menus. Perhaps there where food menus lurking around somewhere and I didn’t see them? The place itself is in what was the Old Jack Russell art gallery, so it is nice and spacious. It has a modern, trendy London feel to it which is nice and the staff appear friendly and polite. Not too sure why they felt the need to plonk a tree in one corner of the room as it does make negotiating your way to the toilet rather challenging. The cocktail menu is fairly extensive with a lot of the classics on there with a few modern twists. No Pina Colada’s though! If cocktails aren’t your thing then why not choose a craft gin? Not too sure what a craft gin is? To me it’s a gin an tonic with fruit and spices in it, or at least that what it appears to be anyway? Well I’m not a gin drinker, can’t stand the stuff. They say that tonic is meant to be good for varicose veins but I don’t believe them. If gin or cocktails don’t tickle your fancy then there’s real ale, lager and the usual selection of whiskeys and brandy’s. All of this is quite reasonably priced. For a new bar that has not long been open it’s quite affordable if you’re on a bit of a budget. Cocktails start from £5.95 and I think the dearest one comes in at around £8.00? I would like to sample their food as there is some competition in the high street so it would be interesting to see what they come up with? All in all I really like it here. It has a nice atmosphere, the staff are friendly and there isn’t music roaring out of the speakers so you can have a decent conversation. And also the price is right.

Excellent customer service and drinks, atmosphere was great; I can't recommend Brook's enough! Why would you go anywhere else? Hands down the best place to go out in Yate and Sodbury.

Our 1st visit to this new venue, and very impressed. Good coffee, lovely Millionaire Shortcake and very reasonably priced. Think we have found our new favourite coffee shop. Look forward to going again.

Visited this fairly new establishment on a Saturday for Mojito's with my fiance but sadly the cocktails were not up to standard. The alcohol content was very limited and they needed a long spoon to mix the drink around instead of a paper straw! The interior is very smart and I hope they can improve for our next visit.

I only popped in briefly to pick someone up, this place was buzzing , lots of places to sit and great bar area. My only negative comment was the lighting , I thought it was far too bright and not cosy enough for me, but It’s very early days and maybe it will change.Great place to have in Chipping Sodbury.

This cocktail bar has only opened in the list few weeks, but has generated a buzz. We came in for drinks before going out for a meal, and have no doubt we'll be back.The atmosphere is brilliant, incredible furniture carved from real wine barrels, good music, superb cocktails, and an owner who knows what he's doing behind the bar and takes great pride in his work.If you've not been before then I would strongly recommend that you do - you won't regret it.
