Excellent little micropub at the Page Park end of Staple Hill. Calm and quiet with an excellent array of ales and ciders. Perfect for a quiet pint on your own or with a small group of friends.

This micropub is situated amongst a row of shops, and I had often walked by wondering what it was like inside. Well, last week I found out and was very pleasantly surprised. It was early on a Saturday evening and I asked a friend if she would come in with me. As my friend nor I drink beer, we opted for a very nice cider. Yes, there are alternative drinks if you don't like beer. Everyone was friendly and it is a place I would quite happily pop into for a swift half. Looking forward to my next visit.

Fine place for drinking and recently eating (sandwitches). And of course on Tuesdays at 7pm Boardgaming !!!!

Lovely quiet and friendly place for a few top notch beers

First time I've visited here and was really impressed with how lovely it was. We had cake and coffees, which were excellent. Our furry friend was well catered for. It's nice to have a place in the high street that encourages dogs and makes them so welcome.

How does this place have such good reviews? Pleasant enough establishment to be fair, but they really need to get of the extremely rude barman.

Great for the ale drinkers and the cider is pretty good. I just think the limited opening hours as they are closing earlier, the limited space, and the landlord is not particularly friendly let's the place down. Due to the size of the pub, if you don't like dogs then I would avoid as dogs are allowed in and some owners don't seem to appreciate you don't want them jumping on you but you don't have the space to move away. Great to see the landlord reply and get it wrong. I thought I had put a constructive review but clearly he cannot take it as such. I said it the place was ok. The beer good. Yes I know it's a micropub and therefore small. But I guess I got it right on the landlord.

Fantastic friendly micropub with great beer selection. Dog friendly and have free dog biscuits. Enjoy the no mobile phone policy encouraging a pint and good chat! Wine and gin is good. Needs more non or low alcoholic beer and drink selection for drivers. Always enjoy visiting.

Nice little place with a great selection. Shame that the drunkard who insulted me for just being me was a known local who's actions apparently didn't suprise the bar staff or what I suspect was the owner lurking in the background.who simply shrugged it off as normal. Genuinely love going to Lyons Den and Snuffy Jacks and would recommend them whole heartedly, with friendly bar tenders and a much more pleasant atmosphere. Apparently having long hair makes you a girl and something to fight about. According to an obese, middle aged man with a spit drenched beard.

What a great place. My only criticism is that it's hard to spot from the outside - easy to walk / cycle past it in passing and miss it. Great selection of beers from American Pale Ales to Porters - all of a high quality and of a reasonable price.

Great selection of beers, an always changing menu, friendly service and a great atmosphere, a welcome change from the dank hovels in the area. Dog friendly is a huge bonus dropping in after walkies.

Fantastic micro pub just what the area needed. Always a excellent pint of Ale. Has a good selection of real cider. Wine and gin also available. No Lager is sold here. Staff are friendly, no music, no gaming machines. A proper pub and always a friendly crowd.

Great little pub with a good atmosphere and great choice of different Ales and ciders. Took my 5 month old puppy in for a pint and he was felt more then welcome. They even brought a bowl of water over for him. What pubs should be like....😁

It's a micropub. So that should give you an indication what it's about. Great, ever-changing real ales, ciders, gin and wine. No machines, music or screens. Good drinking, good company, warm welcome. What's not to like.

Judging from the other reviews we caught the owner on a bad day. My fridge gives me a warmer reception. I can only assume he’s waiting for the place to go under so he can spend more time being miserable on his own.

Good choice of decent beer. Owner and staff are friendly and the place has a nice and relaxed vibe. Far better than the usual pub experience. They do beer, cider, wine and gin. The prices are reasonable too, soft drinks are only £1 which is unusual these days. Def go back.

Early days but excellent variety of ales and knowledge on keeping them plus daytime opening makes this place a must.

Cheap looking, tacky and incredibly inhospitable. won't be going there again. The bloke behind the serving hatch could make more of an effort to welcome you. I get the concept, but being that miserable in a new business venture doesn't bode well for it enduring.
