The best restaurants in Exeter South West

One of the best full English's I'd ever had, it was quite cheap as well. I do recommend going here, the normal breakfast was £4.00, which is quite good compared to other places I've had full Englishs from. Downsides was the drink machine was a bit broken, I tried having sparkling blackcurrant and got a nice glass of froth instead, but the next time I came here it was working and I wasn't having to drink froth.

Service was terrible, took awhile to be waited on, never got silverware or napkins, food was good, small portions

Have thought of going in this restaurant a few times when I’ve visited Exeter. I took the plunge this week and so glad I did. Wonderful service and very friendly and the food was excellent. Will definitely return when next in Exeter

I went to the blackie to watch the football it's a great atmosphere and great staff and the landlord stoo is a good laugh I'll be returning

I absolutely love Mr choy best Chinese I've had in a long time. Hence ordering far too many times but the food is amazing 👏 if I could id order from here everyday! I definitely would Great flavours fast delivery. Only once did I have to call coz it took a couple hrs but I understand no drivers or short of drivers. And the food is so lush totally worth the wait. Id highly recommend to anyone 👌

Went here as a final meal of our holiday. We have eaten all over the world and we have to say that our meal this evening was out of this world. The flavours were simply glorious. The service was brilliant as well. Italian food doesn’t get better than this. Thank you for making our evening wonderful !!!

extremely authentic chinese food !!! we ordered the yang zhou fried rice, beef hofan, char siu & pork belly. we also ordered milk tea as our drinks. the drinks r amazing !!!!! they don’t put a lot of ice in the drinks so you get a lot more bang for your buck. the char siu & pork belly was super yummy, wasn’t stinky at all but some pieces were more salty than others. the fried rice was nothing super special but the beef hofan was amazing!! the beef is so tender and soft would 100% recommend if coming here. overall such a great place to eat if you’re craving authentic chinese food. service was very helpful & friendly.

Went to Comptoir as a walk in and was swiftly shown to a table. The food was great, fast service and a lively atmosphere. Cat was great - very efficient and polite and advised well

Me and my good friend ordered a takeaway Gandhi at around 19:40 Friday evening through Deliveroo. Deliveroo estimated an hour for delivery, but the food was here by 20:10 which was great as we were both hungry. The Gandhi, like usual, does not disappoint. We ordered a fairly large meal for two people, a hot lamb tikka Pathia, and a medium king prawn Ceylon. Both were very delicious. The Pathia was exceptionally flavoursome and not very oily which is so ideal. The Ceylon was lovely and rich in flavour. In addition to the curries we ordered some poppadoms, which were crispy and delicious. As well as many onion bhaji’s which were just also great, very crispy and with really rich onion flavours. I got a zeera rice which I hadn’t tried before but will happily have again, really great herby aroma. My friend ordered the vegetable rice, both of us agreed the portion sizes were great and delicious! We cleaned it all up with some lovely peshwari naan breads, very coconuty and complemented the coconutyness of the Ceylon, and the sweet sour tang of the Pathia! Overall, absolutely sterling meal from the Gandhi, great value for money, generous portion sizes, flavoursome food. 5/5⭐️. 🟦 As we ordered through Deliveroo American Express credit cards were accepted, but the Gandhi also accepts them in store if dining in.

Great restaurant. Food was delicious and well presented. Friendly staff. Good wine selection. A really pleasant dining experience.
