Brunch here is totally fantastic. Add to this - the building and decor makes for a great setting. Can recommend the Garden brunch and green smoothie!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Chloe, with her helpful recommendations and witty conversation in between courses. Would highly recommend.

Had lunch here today, exceptionally slow service of up to 45 minutes for just two plates of food. Then the food arrived cold as if it had probably been sitting on the pass for ages. First time here and the last. It’s so competitive now with restaurants charging exorbitant prices these days. You must get the basics right. Get that food out hot and don’t make people wait almost an hour for it. Unacceptable, people will just go elsewhere.

Wonderful place, great vibe and food. Wish we’d asked the waiter for his name as we had him last month too and he’s totally lovely, friendly and good humoured. Dinner was excellent too and great value. We’ll definitely return!

Fantastic night out to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we felt really well looked after, the service was professional and friendly, the food was amazing A special mention to Tom who looked after us for the evening, he was first class and a real credit to the business, a really friendly person who is excellent at his job. This is our go to place for special occasions, once again it was an excellent evening and we are already planning our next visit.

Visited yesterday with two girlfriends for the bottomless brunch. There was a variety of drinks on offer, all good quality and tasty. There was an issue with our food order and the kitchen sorted it out quickly with no fuss whatsoever. Staff were absolutely fabulous: friendly, chatty and attentive. Just 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral this hidden gem is a must for both locals and visitors. Built within an old hospital the decor creates both visual and atmospheric interest. There is both warmth and comfort in the stories behind the pictures on the walls and the lighting creates an ambience that stimulates the mind. The staff... Omg!!! I have never been served with such charm and efficiency in any other establishment like I was here. Both my partner and myself were in awe even before we had started to eat. The proficiency of the staff was exceptional and we now ordered... The food began to arrive and starters were served quickly. In all honesty I could not find enough words to compliment the quality of ingredients, the combination of ingredients or the presentation of the plates. I have eaten all over the world from Scotland to Egypt and the explosion of flavours on the plates brought before us in The Cosy Club surpassed anything I have ever experienced. I cannot complement this restaurant enough. If you know your food and appreciate good quality ingredients put on a plate to become a masterpiece then I HIGHLY reccomend this restuarant. I really like drinking here, its seating area is a great place to chat and drink with friends. We’ve been coming here for 10 years and I generally find the staff quite cold and unfriendly. I came with my wife and family a couple of weeks ago and we were served by a super friendly and helpful lady called Tia, she gave us info about some new drinks, bantered and we really liked her, prompting me to ask her name so I could submit a review.

We love the atmosphere here. You feel welcome whether you are just having a drink or are here for a meal. The kids favourite dish is macaroni cheese. They find the accompanying garlic bread very tasty. We’ve brought friends and family here and they’ve equally loved it. Holly is very friendly and approachable. Nice walking back in time, took time to be seated very short on the floor staff! Taken to a table of are choice was given menus, and water to the table that was warm and been hanging around at the till area!! Could of been fresh with ice in it!! The people by us where really drunk and loud and effing & jeffing ! The steak came and was cut up into pieces and that makes it tough noidea why u would serve that i would like to cut my own steak up! Very nice big homemade onion rings!! The menu could do with some gammon on it would of been good!! The toilets where Very dark and hand dryer sounded like it was on its last legs and very dark in the toilets. The tables where very rocky with paper under the legs!!

A lovely Sunday evening supper with our little boy. I had been to Cosy Club before with my colleagues and suggested it would be a good place for a family dinner after a busy day. Ashley our waiter was very attentive and just the right mix of friendly and professional. The food was tasty and good value. We love the gold quality experience mixed with the relaxed atmosphere, I'm sure we will come again.

We had dinner here midweek with my husband and we were surprised to see just how busy it was, which is always a good sign! The decor and layout is very quirky but it has a great ambience. Staff were friendly and attentive and although my first food choices from the menu were not available, I was still able to find equally appealing alternatives. We both really enjoyed our meal; it was nicely presented and very tasty. All in all we had a lovely evening!

Very cool restaurant and bar in a former hospital- great eclectic decor and lovely service. Very tasty food. We had Asian chicken and croquettes for starters. Chicken could’ve been slightly crispier - maybe chef should leave the sauce on the side, then duck cassoulet, fish cakes, sea bass and beef burger. All good size portions and very tasty. Only comment is the cassoulet should come with potatoes or some carb without having to at for a side. Cocktails looked ace but we had a bottle of house (Verdejo) white wine. There is a bar area too where you can just get drinks. Definitely recommend this place.

We chose the Cosy Club as it looked like an interesting place to eat, quite quirky, We arrived to be greeted by a friendly waitress and seated immediately. The menu was diverse with some interesting options and we spent quite a bit of time making choices, but were absolutely not rushed by the staff. All of our 4 meals including starters and desserts were excellent, some of the best food we have had anywhere. Service was really good and we loved the ambiance of the building and the great features of the old hospital. We will without doubt return next time in Exeter. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Upon arrival we had to wait quite a while for a staff member to greet & seat us. When ordering at the bar, the staff ignored for a while then served without a smile or any warmth. Drinks were great but fries were room temp. Al a bit disappointing really.

Dry chicken burger, cooked from frozen steak, and a duck confit that was disappointing, a duck leg in a tomato and bean gravy. Staff clearly unhappy as they slammed down glasses and plates and barely smiled then expected a 10% surcharge. Sad difference between now and our first visit 10 years ago.

Real shame because we’ve had great experiences at the other Cost Clubs we’ve visited. Not sure why they pretend to be dog friendly because you’re treated like second class citizens. The “dog friendly” area is separated from the restaurant by a long sofa but unlike the people sat the other side of the sofa there is no table service and no tab facility. Everything had to be ordered and paid for at the bar. The food wasn’t great and no one bothered to check after it was served and two pairs of knives and forks were dropped on the table. We’ll go to Cosy Club again but not this one in Exeter after this experience.

Met up with family for a lunch. Chose Exeter as was half way for both parties. Chose Cosy Club for its easy location to City Center and separate Gluten Free menu. My Aunt was particularly pleased I chose here as was where she did her nurse training when it was a hospital. She spoke with a couple of members of staff of her days spent there many years ago and they were charming and took the time to listen to her story. Everyone in the party enjoyed the dishes they had chosen and each said was very tasty and value for money. One member of the party chose from the Gluten Free menu and was particularly impressed with the choices on that menu. We ate in the bar as we had a dog with us and the environment was very acceptable. We were served by a lovely young lady called Tia. She was courteous, friendly and engaging. She asked if any of our party had any allergies which I was particularly impressed with. The food was served in a timely manner and was well presented. Would highly recommend The Cosy Club

We booked the New Years Eve meal and from the greeting onwards everything went smoothly! We were seated next to the live band and did worry about being too close but the jazz band from Bristol were great ! Their music was diverse with a fantastic jazz twist to all types of music! The sound level was just right the Cosy Club 20,s/30’s theme was very similar to the doing the Ritz nights at The Ritz ! Great service great staff and delicious food ! I had a chicken supreme which was tasty and succulent with perfectly crisped skin and dauphinois potatoes with tender stem broccoli perfectly Al dente. My wife’s Hake dish was sublime also with perfect crisp skin. Good selection of wine reasonably priced all in all a great place to spend the New Year celebration.

My University basketball society had our Christmas Dinner here. The food and service was exceptional! The staff were all extremely accommodating and made the evening so easy to plan with them. Will definitely look forward to booking events with them in the future.

I visited with family for the 2nd Christmas Eve in a row and enjoyed another good meal.  I had the Spanish Chicken which was plentiful and had lovely flavours. The chicken was a little overcooked though. On the side I had the Pulled Beef and smoked bacon croquettes. They were the highlight, delicious meat. However I did think 2 of them was a bit tight... My Mum liked her Chicken Risotto and my Dad chowed down the Christmas Pie. Clean plates all round.  The staff are very pleasant as well as super efficient and organised.

I have mixed feelings on this one. 10 of us went from work for our Christmas lunch. We booked for 1230 and were greeted by lovely staff and drinks orders taken. We had ordered the 2 course Christmas menu, which was a starter and a mains. The starter took over an hour to arrive. The mains arrived timely. I had the fillet of salmon, which was rather small but hot. It came with charred broccoli. Charred being the word, it was quite crispy. It was replaced very quickly. They were very busy and it is obviously popular. The atmosphere is lovely. It used to be an hospital and is full of history. I can’t fault the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. Just disappointed with the wait and my food.

I have eaten here upwards of 50 times but in the last few visits i have experienced some quite atrocious attitude from various staff. I've just been told to calm down when simply pointing out to my server that he got my order wrong. I wasn't aggressive but that certainly did set me off. 2 visits before my cold toasted sandwich and fries was met with: although toasted, the sandwich should be cold....? Cold tasted bread is hard and difficult to break. Loved this place, raved about it. But this will be my last visit.

Didn't think the meal was value for money. Risotto and Chicken nearly £18. The chicken was dry and the food not overly hot. Better places to eat in city. Great venue and the service was good.

Our party of nine, celebrating a birthday, were really well looked after, the service was superb! Exeter had flooding issues so two of our party were really delayed but the staff were super hospitable and relaxed - it could have been stressful and difficult but they were amazing! Food was great, really enjoyed the brunches, the atmosphere was fabulous and the decor brilliantly eccentric (such a cool venue). Thank you so much again!

I chose this restaurant for the quirkiness, and wasn’t disappointed, but the food was fantastic! I had a risotto with amazing, fresh vegetables and just the right zesty lemon. Hubby had a burger with the best fries (chips?) we’ve had on our trip. Heartily recommend!

it’s rare that we go to the cosy club and be able to order a dessert. the portions are SO generous, with the food being the right amount of richness and moreish-ness to leave you satisfied. Tonight, we finally went for it and tried a lemon posset and we were not disappointed at all! we love going to the cosy club for a date night, knowing there’ll always be something we like (i am yet to order something that isn’t the dirty chicken burger - i’ve never had anything like it). my boyfriend tried the roast chicken and was absolutely in love with it. our night was made especially delightful by Michael, our server, who paid attention to every detail to ensure we had everything we needed. he also went above and beyond and could discuss the dishes in detail to help my boyfriend decide what to choose, which was an absolute success. we are never disappointed by the outstanding service here, and tonight was no different. thank you to the fabulous team, and to Michael, for another successful and excellent evening at the cosy club, which will always be one of Exeter’s finest for us.

Exceptional , underrated restaurant where the business has transformed an old hospital into chic restaurant. Absolutely lovely young woman took us to our table .
