Just enjoyed the inaugural History Tour at Henry's on the Market. Dave and Sam (and special tour guide Michael) did a fantastic job sharing some Charleston history with us as we toured the Market area We also shared some refreshing beverages and enjoyed delicious local food choices upstairs in the Whiskey Room at Henry's. Highly recommend this tour. A great bargain for the price with knowledgeable guides. We will see you in a year for the reunion!

Ian from the Horse Carriage Tour reccomended Henry's and we were not disappointed! The food was INCREDIBLE - especially the shrimp taco. Oh.My.Goodness. It was DELICIOUS. If you held one up and said it's the last one, the place would have gone full Hunger Games to get it! I also had the blackened chicken pasta, my wife had the blackened fish and cheesy grits - both incredible. Food came out very quickly. Service was lovely, if a little harum scarum, vibe was really good in the place, busy but not too much, and it was a brilliant experience. Henrys Kitchen brigade - take a bow!

The look of the restaurant/rooftop made our group expect a totally different experience than we got. We did not expect the plastic silverware or glasses. The bartender looked confused when I asked for my wine in a real glass. I'm not above a place like that, but it wasn't the experience we were looking for. Food was good. The Mahi Mahi with cheesy grits were excellent! Service was less than excellent. We stood at the entrance for a while before we were even acknowledged. The server seemed overly busy for the amount of people actually in the restaurant at the time. We had to find our own silverware at the bar. I won't be back.

Very disappointing. If you're looking for good local seafood, choose somewhere else. The only "local" option was shrimp and the fried shrimp tasted no different than what I can get in Kansas or Arizona. The calamari was rubbery and the "charred" asparagus was tasteless and not charred at all. My fiance has the chicken salad and ended up sick all night long. To make it more disappointing, no jazz and the service was awful. Just skip it and try one of the many other seafood restaurants nearby.

My first visit was amazing. Our food was delicious!!First we had the She Crab Soup. You will have missed the primo reason for going to Harry's of you don't orded the delectable, yummy, mmmm' good soup! I promise. For my main course, I had the chicken salad, oh my goodness, quite possibly the best I have ever had in my life. I chose Okra for my side. It was fried to perfection. My lunch companion had the Southern shrimp tacos. She did not leave a bite behind. Our waiter was fabulous. He kept my water glass filled with ice, exactly the way I always want it done! After we had lunch, a trip to the rooftop was on order. WOW, now that is another memory for my trip to Charleston. If you visit Henry's, it's a must-see. 👌 Perfect end to a perfect lunch! Hope I get to return very soon!

I had the chicken sandwich with a side of asparagus. Overall taste was good and well seasoned. A bit pricey for what you get. We were given plastic silverware, which is totally inadequate and tacky. Service was very average. There is a 2.5% surcharge if you use a credit card. More and more businesses follow that practice, which is a scam. The customer shouldn’t be paying for the business credit card fee.

So disappointed, at $30 per dish, we expect higher quality and higher quantities. The linguine with shrimp and scallops, at this price you don't expect to be hungry when you come out, the pasta finished in 3 strokes of the fork. Go across the street to Crab House, for the same price, succulent cuisine and quantities that have nothing to do with it. And a much more qualitative welcome too. Too bad, we got fooled.

.enry's on the market is one of the oldest and most historical buildings in the area to have food. They have three levels. This is my second time being here, and the drinks are always great, and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is a beautiful old world Jazz vibe. My only complaint is that upon entering, no one greets you, not even the bar stuff they just stare at you. I had to ask if we see ourselves or if we wait on a hostess because we had been standing there for a good 5 minutes with no one saying anything to us. The bartender didn't even take a moment to say welcome to Henry's, or someone will be with you in just a mom .ent they just stared at you. It was definitely not an inviting and very pretentious attitude. However, the food is always great and definitely overshadows the staffs lack of customer service or attentiveness.

It has been a while since I have enjoyed a restaurant so much that I have been unable to put the meal and the experience out of my mind. As a graduate student in hospitality who has been working in multiple realms of industry for a little more than 5 years, I could write an essay as to why I will never visit any other restaurant in Charleston, but I will do my best to remain brief. Firstly, the food was amazing. As an appetizer, my party of three shared the calamari which was delicious and I will be ordering again (once I have made my way through the rest of the menu). As an entrée, I ordered the mahi and it was cooked perfectly, the flavor was amazing, and the presentation was beautiful. The two friends I was dining with ordered the blackened chicken pasta which they both enjoyed very much. I would recommend everything we ordered to anyone grabbing a bite to eat at Henry's. Secondly, and this is the main point that wowed me to the point of writing this Google Review, the service was of a quality I have yet to find in many other restaurants-- especially at such an affordable price point. Our server was Garrett and he was incredibly charming and very kind when my friends and I were so indecisive about what to order. He kept a close eye on waters and my friend's drink to ensure we were never having to grab his attention for any refills. One thing that has become too common in the restaurant industry is servers obviously working for tips. This was not at all the case with Garrett. For context, I have a friend from high school who comes from Tennessee to visit for a week at the end of every summer. This is the only time we see each other during the year and we always have one night where we treat ourselves to a little bit of a fancier dinner. It was very clear to me and my guests that Garrett recognized this was a special night for us and was very respectful of our time and conversation as he remained available to us without the multiple interruptions that many servers make. Additionally, Garrett continued to refill our waters and let us enjoy our evening until we indicated that we were ready for the check. To me, this was a sign of a well-trained server and a higher-end service standard, which was extremely pleasing to find at a modestly priced restaurant. Furthermore, when my friend was brought the seafood pasta instead of the blackened chicken pasta, Garrett went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Assuming the correct dish would be brought out quickly, my other guest and I decided to wait to begin our meal until the last entrée was served. After a few minutes of waiting (which was a great sign that every meal is made fresh to-order), Garrett brought out an order of fries and said "here is something for you all to snack on while you wait." This has stuck in my head because it showed that he was watching our behavior and did what was in his power to eliminate an inconvenience rather than offering a free side as an apology to avoid any complaints or bad reviews (not that we would have ever done either). I was just so beyond impressed by Garrett's attention to detail that the entire evening has been unable to leave my mind. To management, Garrett and whoever trained him deserve a raise. My only regrets are that I didn't tell this to him in person and that I didn't tip him 100% of the bill-- he did more than deserve it. Henry's is lucky to have him and he is the reason I will returning to your restaurant whenever I am in Charleston. Garrett, thank you so much for such an enjoyable and memorable.

Get ready to pay $20 cover and to be harassed by a pink haired security guard!!!! Security and bouncers there are so oddly rude for no reason. The pink haired security guard asked me to move from a walk way when I first walked in. I apologized and got out of the way. An hour later, my group and I were sitting at a table upstairs and that same security guard asked us to move because we were unknowingly sitting next to a private door. I apologized and said “of course we will move I’m so sorry.” And she aggressively looked at me and aid “this is the second time I’ve asked you to move tonight. The first was downstairs.” So odd and it was quite obvious that she was power hungry. Hoping I’d pick a fight for her to throw me out. She continued to stare me down for the WHOLE night (made me REALLY really uncomfortable). Keep in mind- I’m pregnant and sober as can be.. so intoxication wasn’t an issue. Can’t say we will be back. The servers were really nice. Basic bar fare. Alligator bites were way over cooked and ruvvery, but the spinach and artichoke dip was good, as was the chopped steak special. Another in our parry also enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Chicken o added to the chopped salad was quite tasty. There are more onions than any other topping on the salad, though. And no blue cheese in the blue cheese dressing, but it didn't taste like ranch, so I guess that's what it was. Portions are good-sized but kind of pricey for what it was.

I only WANT to say positives about Henry's - awesome food and people who work there. The drinks are great as well! Atmosphere would have been a 6 out of 5 and the ONLY reason it is the lowest rating is that it is multi-tier open roof dining which is amazing but does allow cockroaches to reach those seating areas... I know this sounds bad but it's just because of the open air access, all inside is very clean and it's very fun.

We are just shy of completing our training, and if I had put on the dog’s vest “service dog” instead of “in training” no one would have known the difference. We have never been told before we couldn’t eat inside or required to go up stairs with someone who is clearly disabled.

Absolutely love this spot! Been here twice in 5 years and it never disappoints! Great music, two levels of different styles, good drinks, and just a great rooftop and bar spot in the heart of Charleston.

Dalton served us tonight and gave us 5 star service. Such an attentive kind soul on a busy Friday night. Visiting from Maryland and he made me feel right at home.

First trip to Charleston and happened upon this amazing place to grab lunch before out carriage tour. The shrimp and grits and blackened mahi were awesome and we hope to come back to experience the night life here. Such a neat place with multiple floors and lounging options.

We sat on the rooftop deck. Very cool space and atmosphere. Bar tenders were distracted when it came to ordering. They weren't too busy but took us asking for a drink as they were chatting. It happens. That wouldn't keep me from coming back.

Henry's has got to be one of the most unique places on Market Street. The building itself is comprised of a restaurant on the first level, a whiskey/bourbon lounge on the second, and a rooftop bar on the third. The restaurant always has good classic southern foods with a little Charleston flare and is delicious. The staff are friendly and ready to help you with anything. The whole building is pretty clean and well put together. Do mind that the lounge on the second level is only open for a few hours during the evening. The rooftop has artificial grass flooring and two bars where you can get fairly-priced cocktails, wine, and beer. The view of the streets below is pretty cool from up top, and the music compliments the general atmosphere. Later at night they do have live music on the restaurant stage and there is always a long line to get in, so get there early. The cover is usually about $20. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Market Street for the food, drinks, and entertainment.

Multi-levels, bars, nooks, and rooms fun house. This place probably has what you are looking for. Bartender very friendly. All day and night drinking(lower bar was as full at noon as it was at 9pm. 9-11pm is when the real party begins. Ages 21(some looked 16) to 71. Didn't dine here but was told by other hotel guests the food is great here. Dog friendly judging by water bowl at bar. Enjoy!

Sat at the bar, no problem. Bar tender was not very attentive. Was more interested in watching sports on TV. Ordered shrimp tacos 2 tacos per order, only 2 shrimps per tacos, not worth $17.

The flounder was outstanding. Best seafood that I've had in Charleston The staff is typically pretty cool but one of the staff, who wasn't our server, told my friend that he couldn't wear his baseball hat backwards. Hahaha
