My family and I had a very nice meal at Comptoir. We were served by Cat who was exceptionally pleasant, professional and a lovely sense of humour.

Reliably good food at a great price. We had the veggie mezze for two which was very tasty. Would particularly like to mention the excellent service from Cat.

Just been to the restaurant to celebrate our daughters graduation. There were 6 of us and we arrived at 7.30pm. We managed to get our drinks after a 45 minute wait. The food did not arrive for over 90 minutes. A total disgrace. The service was an utter shambles. People came in after us and were served their food before us. In all my years in the restaurant business i have never seen such bad organisation. Two of our guests had to leave due to an emergency so the staff brought their food over in take away bags BUT still we waited for our food .?? Absolutely disgraceful. Its not like the food was free. Its an insult to treat anyone in this way. They need to address their staffing levels. The food did not even make up for the crap service.

Cat was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for our lunch today! So kind and was able to go through some menu items with us. Couldn’t be more lovely and helpful, will definitely be returning and hope to see her again soon ! :)

Took my wife here for a dinner date as it was her birthday and we had such a heartwarming experience !! The service from Cat was really professional, friendly, lovely and she is definitely an asset to the restaurant !! The food and drinks were class too !! Definitely visiting soon for round 2!!

came here with my friend group for a dinner out and i could not be more impressed with the atmosphere, customer service and food. i specifically got the chicken taouk grill and it was delicious, full of flavour. our server flo was super sweet and checked up on our table several times. we also got to meet chef mohammad. i would definitely come here again!!!

Food was not cooked right at all (over cooked) and don’t get me started on nearly £4 for a can of coke!! Are you serious?! Service was outstanding but that’s the only thing I can say I liked.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, jedoch mit dem Hinweis, dass es zur Mittagszeit sehr voll sei und mit einer Wartezeit von etwa 25-30 min auf das Essen zu rechnen sei. Was für uns vollkommen ok war. Wir hatten Hummus, Chicken Wings, Haloumi Käse, Datteln und Oliven bestellt. Es war sehr lecker mit einem guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Gern wieder!

If you make a reservation and want to call them to change, forget it they won't answer and after several trys actually cut you off. Food is ok but no different to a quality kebab shop. Friendly staff

I Love Comtoir Libabais. I have been going to Comtoir in London for almost 10 yrs. Some Comtoir foods are very bland and basic with minimum portion. However the Comtoir Exeter is one of the best i have been. This is my second time at Comtoir Exeter and the foods are what Comtoit should be with such a great and friendly staffs serving . We had a bday party and everyone was impressed about the foods quality, service and the place!

Such a lovely experience! Food was all delicious - we would really recommend the halloumi and figs - and arrived quickly and was reasonably priced. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was brilliant and the staff were lovely - really made us feel special. Great vegetarian options too! Very happy and can’t wait to be back!

The food is incredible but the outdoor patio is now heavily impacted by the people from “the terrace” smoking directly next to you. Sit on the church side of the patio!

Good food but I object to an automatic 12% service charge when in fact the service is often very slow.

Stopped by for lunch and had a lovely array of food in a fun and exciting setting. We found the menu to be very nice for lunch offerings and had a nice mix of plates, all lovely. Take note to stay away from the flatbreads, just flavourless doughy discs you’d get from a supermarket. Service was a little lacking. Polite but very much left alone on a quiet day and didn’t come to check in regarding food or extra drinks.

My fiancée and I came for dinner on the 25th of April as this was where we dined on our first proper date three years ago and wanted to make it a special occasion as we were in Exeter. We cannot praise the staff and fhe entire experience enough. The service was incredible the entire time, the staff constantly friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely astounding and to the highest standard we could have wished for. Ryan, Dan and Erin made our dinner more spectacularly pleasant than it would have been anywhere else and we are so greatly thankful for such a wonderful time. I've made a TripAdvisor account specificly for the purpose of praising these people and this establishment. They deserve a raise. We will be back and look forward to every part of it 12/10 (Staff were even happy to stop and take a Polaroid photo of us enjoying our time together, it developed perfectly btw, thanks again)

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. Really good selection for vegetarians. Service was friendly, a little on the slower side. The only let down was the 12% service charge that was added to the bill automatically. We always tip but it’s nice to be able to choose to do that, and the amount, ourselves.

100% full marks. I love love love this restaurant. My first time, but definitely not my last. The food is delicious. It's really so good. We all cleaned out plates and were so happy. The beer on tap is lovely. What made our visit so good, though, was the manager that day. Tryg looked after us from walking into leaving. I have never cried with laughter so much. He was funny, attentive, and understood how to make his guests happy. I had the platter for one and was blown away but the flavours. The others had seabass and 2 lamb tagine. All said the food was great. I highly recommend visiting Libanais. A chain, yes, but a very local independent feel. Well done.

Wow! I can not recommend this restaurant more highly. The decor and atmosphere in the building is absolutely stunning. The staff are such a credit to the company, especially Tryg who was not only welcoming, he made it a fun experience. Tryg recommended different foods and clearly knew what he was talking about as he described what was in the dishes. He took my nut allergy very seriously and my colleagues gluten intolerance offering alternatives to dishes that originally were not gluten free. All fairly priced and the food was so tasty! No complaints here! We cannot wait to return again and bring more of our work team, family and friends. Thank you Comptoir Libanais

Very slow service but great food when it arrived, difficult to get staff attention - we had a time crunch to get to a booked event. Staff were pleasant but perhaps not enough of them for the numbers of customers that day?

Every time I dine in, the food has the same great quality. I have ordered today a mezze platter for collection for the first time and I was surprised to see that the small details of presentation was incredible!!! I totally recommend, the food is great and full of flavour.

Beautiful restaurant and delicious food!! My friend and I had an amazing time and they even sang my friend happy birthday which was very very sweet and a special shout-out to Cat for being a lovely waitress!! All of the staff were really friendly and accommodating.

Another visit to Exeter, and it became a family tradition is to visit Comptoir Libanais, located at the centre of Exeter high street. The food is delicious with so many authentic dishes. The menu is well chosen, with variety of food and vegetarian/vegan options. The staff is lovely and very welcoming and very polite. Overall, it’s the best restaurant in Exeter especially if you’re looking for a place to your family occasions or friends gatherings!

We had a great eve here and were looked after very well by Cat, our waitress, who was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Food was superb!

We had a perfect meal here on Saturday night. The food was delicious and our servers Tilly and Josh couldn’t have been more accommodating. Tilly gave us great menu recommendations and Josh was really attentive. For such young employees to be so good and so professional is rare these days. They were the kind of level of service that you get when you’re greeted by the owner themselves. We experienced an exceptionally warm welcome and fantastic customer service from them throughout. The chefs were smiley and the place was decorated beautifully. Our starters and mains were yummy and the mango cheesecake for dessert was amazing. We will be back Thank you Lucy

I was ordering Meze plater over 3 years for pick up from Exeter and I can say first time a couldn’t believe how much food we got never could finish it. Many times after disappointed about amount of food I got. They make it look nice but you have food for three small spoons and you are finished. Prices are higher and higher but quality and quantity is getting down. I spoke to manager last time I ordered they gave us extra pickles but we didn’t have to eat it with because we didn’t have enough food.. I am not ordering again! Picture is with extra olives from my partner and you can see that meze is all around the sides but non in the middle!

I've previously rated & reviewed this great restaurant. Fast, friendly service with freshly cooked, very tasty food. My favourite is the Chicken Tauok grill with vermicelli rice. Lovely. **March 2024 update ** We just shared Mezze & a pudding this time but the food quality & service is still very good. Sadly they no longer have their retail area at the front where previously you could buy pomegranate molasses / seasonings etc.

I have been feeling so unwell that I found it difficult to cook so thought of ordering chicken taouk wrap from them. Looking at their description as provided on uber eats where they say it will be served with garlic dip, hummus, salad etc. the wrap i received was horrible! there was no garlic dip, no hummus and the salad was stale! Imagine being unwell and receiving this kind of food. utterly disappointing experience

Really enjoyable experience - I love the aesthetic of the place and the food was delicious. I recommend the lamb tagine and the date brownie! Staff were friendly and responsive, and the food arrives quickly. The only minor downside was there was a rather persistent recurring noise (an alarm?) from the open kitchen that would ruin the atmosphere a bit, but I assume that is not a common occurrence....

Disappointing lunch for my dad's birthday, it was a weekday lunch time and fairly quiet. Some of the food ordered were wrong and had to chase 1 persons meal as this was not made, there was 5 of us. Then there were some kitchen issue so in the end the one with a missing meal end up not eating at all. No acknowledgement from the staff for forgetting the order.

The food is tasty with good portion sizes, however we waited 50 minutes for food at lunch time. Questioned the staff and our order had been misplaced. They did apologise verbally but I wonder how long it would have taken if we hadn't questioned them, as they paid no attention to the fact we sat with an empty table and everyone around us had received their orders. Level access throughout for wheelchair users, there is room inside to get around the restaurant however it does get narrow in some areas. It's located in the guildhall food district which is all level for wheelchair users and located on the ground floor.
