Would definitely recommend to anyone. We had a wonderful time here for an anniversary dinner. The food was really good and we enjoyed that we were given time with each dish to finish it before moving on. As they're sharing plates, it was nice to not have several dishes at once.
They had run out of the wine we wanted but we're suggested another bottle which was good.
Service was great once it was underway, there were 2 large tables finishing as we arrived which took some time to complete.

This is a brilliant neighbourhood boozer. If I lived in Bristol it would be my local.
Fantastic well kept real ale sensible prices.
We visited late on a Saturday evening and the place was full. Always a good sign.
Went in late last night, left with probably the spiciest meal I have ever eaten. Usually I wouldn't push through but it was absolutely delicious, such great flavours. Owner was very generous too, highly recommend! Huge selection of dishes.

Dried out , overcooked rubbish. Served meat to my veggie companion which he accidentally ate as they covered it in gravy.
I emailed a complaint and the manager asked me to describe the serving staff member so they could sack them. What the actual heck?! So unprofessional. Won't eat here again.
Me and my girlfriend rate all the restaurants we go to based on 3 criteria- food, price, atmosphere. This is the only restaurant which has scored 5/5 for every category out of the ones we've been to. Not sure how much significance that carries... but yeah, Kal Dosa is great.
Our waiter (Rahul) offered probably the highest level of customer service I have experienced at a restaurant, especially for a birthday dinner.
We will definitely be returning :)
Exceptional food and drink when we visited. A lovely little place and attention to detail in the flavors was spot on. If you are in Bristol be sure to check it out if you enjoy a variety of veggy dishes, fish and meats and great desserts.
Really disappointed after booking for valentines night. We and another couple were the only ones in the restaurant. I was going to have lemon sole but it was off even though it was still marked up on the board. Chose the brie for starter between the two of us. Although it was warm it was still fairly solid in the middle. We were told they had sirloin steak with blue cheese sauce which we both had. The steaks were cooked very well but were full of fat and sinew. The blue cheese sauce only covered about the inch of the steak as there was a tiny jug on the side filled up a third full. It would of been appreciated if as it was such a small jug if it could be filled. The same amount of gravy was served. The really poor aspect of the meal was the service. It wasn't warm or attentive. We chose a bottle of 29.00 malbec. We were given a suggestion of a 70.00 one by the waitress which we found a bit embarrassing. I know it's good for a venue to upsell but perhaps more appropriate was to offer a similar for 10.00 to 15.00 extra not 41.00 extra. After ordering, we waited 15 minutes for our wine. After chasing our waitress we were told that a "new guy had started that day and didn't know what he was doing". The wine was then just dumped on the table with the lid still on. There were no waiting staff in view for most of our meal so it was difficult to complain regarding food and service. We left without paying a tip unfortunately and won't return sadly. It really is a lovely venue but the food and service was lacking for a supposedly special evening.
Fantastic location if you want to grab a quick coffee or a snack! Really good coffee and just a nice place to sit and enjoy the view around bristol harbour (or if you want to watch people bungee jump from a crane).
