One of the best curry houses in Bristol. Incredible food and service every time I’ve been. A range of dishes that you’ve probably never heard of but every single one has been 10/10. Look forward to continuing to try the rest of the menu. The staff are friendly and the value for money is great. Cobra on draught. Always a good meal here, definitely recommend.

The service was excellent, they gave recommendations and were really thoughtful with everything. We ordered two curries, coconut rice, fig and coriander naan(which was amazing) and pappadam. Everything was super delicious and authentic! We will def come back!

A family lunch and did not disappoint. Nice that the menu wasn’t the usual run of the mill curry choices. Syrian beef, prawn and aubergine and the king prawn coconut curry were all excellent. Deserts were lovely too. Very friendly and definitely a place to return too.

So good - have been waiting years and years for an Indian restaurant as good as this to open locally. Had walked past many times and thought that smells amazing. Don't know why it took me so long to actually go in and eat. Now we have I can't believe this place isn't rammed full day and night. Takeaways are good but eating in is lot better - not surprising really - who would order from a Michelin restaurant and expect same experience as dining in! So give it a try now - use it or lose it, before you even know what you missed. Would be such a shame - best I've had in decades - since leaving London in 80's. Been for lunches and dinners - equally great.

Have just had a fabulous meal at Salkaara. This is not your average neighbourhood Indian - there are many interesting and delicious unusual dishes on the menu, e.g. Tandoori mackerel. I highly recommend this restaurant!

What a fantastic meal. We walked in to such a warm welcome. This Indian restaurant has a great atmosphere subtle decor plenty of seating. Visiting on a Wednesday evening the restaurant was full. The food was authentic, well presented and tasted delicious. Great sharing choices at different times of the day from the menu. Excellent service, not rushed. Definitely recommend a visit.

The best indian food in Bristol….. I love it!!! Every dish is cooked to order and is consistently tasty and full of spice. We come here regularly and would not go anywhere else for Kerala style food.

Very warm welcome, very good advice and very good food. We were tempted by the desserts but were no longer hungry (very well served). What's more, we were able to eat despite the late hour.

Really excellent food: the naans were light as a cloud and the Syrian beef curry was one of the best curries I've had in years. Service was good too with very attentive but not intrusive staff. We even got a hot towel at the end, proper old school. They also had an Indian cider, well Indian themed bottle at least. Would definitely recommend.

This is not your standard curry place and there is a different style to this. I could see that they are doing some décor retro but seemed ok. The food was absolutely great. The highlight was the fish polichatu it was just nice. Not your standard stuff and if you are expecting a lot of gravy perhaps you need try one of the curries. But I thoroughly enjoyed this especially when mixing with the curry sauce from my friends. Would definitely recommend…

Faultless unobtrusive service, great wines, reasonable prices, and some of the best Indian food I’ve had in recent years.

Had a great meal with 20 friends on Saturday evening. Food was delicious and staff were super friendly and helpful on the night. Vipin and the manager were great when I was trying to organise the evening as well. Highly recommend this restaurant 👍🏻👍🏻

It was great! I walked in with no booking and was offered a table immediately even though it was busy. The food was incredible, delicious and authentic, the service was delightful and the price was SO reasonable. Om definitely going again.

Been here two times now and had a wonderful experience both times, the food is absolutely fantastic and both my partner and I look forward to trying new dishes each time we come The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you and the overall atmosphere is great too. The music is perfect background volume and the general chatter of everyone having a good time just adds to it. I have recommended here to multiple friends and family already and look forward to coming back again.

I went to Sakkaara to celebrate my son’s birthday. We had a great evening, lovely food (taster menu especially good) and the staff could not have been nicer.

Best Indian food in Bristol. Super flavours and selection for all palettes. In our group we had pescatarian and vegetarians and both were well catered for. Can’t recommend enough.

Very much enjoyed previous visits to this restaurant but this time was distinctly disappointed. For the first time ordered the so called 'very tender' Lamb Shank. Whilst I wouldnt say the lamb was tough it wasn't easy getting it off the bone, had to really prise it off. It was certainly not 'very tender' as slow cooked lamb shank should be.

Went here on the off chance a year ago and were so surprised at the great quality of the food, really delicious, not greasy but beautifully balanced flavours. It’s not far from our house and we were expecting a more old fashioned curry house so it was great to find this gem on our doorstep. We’ve been many many times since!

First time dining here early Sunday evening with my mum and daughter. The Service was excellent with Han who is a really friendly waitress and host. Beautiful food, well presented. I tried the Dhaba Murg which was delicious and my mum and daughter the tikka masala.

We tried the onam sadhya at Salkara and it was just amazing! The food tasted authentic and yummy! There were lots of different varieties of sadhya items and the staff there were very warm and friendly.. can’t wait to come back again next year to have the sadhya again ☺️

There was really good flavour, but the vegetable curry was lacking vegetables, so was more of a sauce with a few bits of veg in it.

The food here is ok. I wish it was really authentic but it’s been altered to “suit the British palate” and because of that I found it underwhelming. I was disappointed. I shall go to that well known and real South Indian in Patchway!

Visited Salkaara for the first time today. My partner and I had a late lunch , we were nicely surprised by the quality of the food. I had the tiger prawns in a delicious mango sauce, my partner's dish a lamb covered in nan bread was very tasty but more spicy/hot than expected. The mango lassi was one of the best I've had. The service was excellent, friendly and very helpful. I would most definitely recommend Salkaara.

We had our first South Indian vegetarian meal (Samosa Chat, Masala Dosa & Idli Sambar). We had a warm welcome from a very friendly and helpful manager Sharad.Every item we had was excellent, delicious ans pricy without burning your tongue). Came with friends on a Thursday evening. Restaurant had a good atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is amazing. Its a bit more expensive than your average Indian restaurant but the food is absolutely worth it. I will be back!

Fab curry . Not your traditional greasy curry that leaves you feeling heavy afterwards. Delicately spiced and we especially loved the use of fresh curry leaves. Yummy, interesting menu and friendly service . Highly recommend it and now a firm local favourite .

I believe Salkaara aims at catering to a unique style of fine dining in the South Indian cuisine segment and therefore I must say that they have absolutely aced it. Majority of the dishes in the menu hail from the beautiful state of Kerela (India) and I can affirm that they tasted just like the ones made back at home (just a tad less spicy to my tasting but the menu is carefully prepared keeping the Brits in mind 😁). The star dish of that night was nothing but The Goan pork vindaloo. It was bang on and cooked to perfection, definitely a must try item. However, the only downside I felt was that they do not have appams or parottas which could have been an absolute perfect pairing with the Goan curry. Also, the naan wasn't as fluffy and soft as I wanted it to be and could have been made better. The Indian breads may have been a letdown but the hospitality and attention given to us by the Salkaara team was phenomenal.

I was taken to this place by a team of friends last week. I normally go to Nutmeg whom I rate quite high. But this is definitely a step above . In terms of the flavors taste,- wow.I had the beef chilli fry which was absolutely gorgeous. And for mains I had Kerala fish curry. The place has a buzz and it was decently busy for a Wednesday. I saw the way they brought out the biriyani and it looked different . Something I have decided to try on. It is slightly off the route from Clifton but on this occasion they won me over to visit again and try some of the other stuff they have on the menu.

We called in for an evening meal, tempted by the many things on offer that we'd not seen on a standard Indian menu. We were not disappointed. It was presented as starters, mains and tiffin, but we decided to share starters and tiffin as a kind of tapas. We were expertly guided through the menu by the friendly and unassuming waiter, who explained the dishes and where in India they came from. We had chicken, fish and a variety of bread sides, our favourite being the doosa, aka the world's biggest pancake, stuffed with spiced potato and beetroot mash. A discovery in all senses of the word...quiet on a Monday, apart from two Indian families

Food was cold on arrival having taken over 1h30min from ordering to get to us (we are a 5min drive from the restaurant). Phoned the restaurant twice to chase the order up and was told it was out for delivery both times. Challenged them the second time and they had to phone the driver to locate our order. After warming the food up in the microwave it was tasty but not worth the hassle as a delivery.

The food is unusual, extremely tasty and good value. The traditional Thalis and dosa are very good value for lunch and a good range of delicious sambol, chutney, raita, vegetables etc. so good.

The best curry I've had on ages. The fig and coriander naan was a delight, as was my paneer dish. The service couldn't have been better.

This was the most delicious Indian food I have ever tasted. So pleased that we decided to eat here after going to the cinema next door. There was a warm welcome & the waiting staff were always happy to help, but they were not intrusive. Each course was nutritionally well-balanced, with wonderful flavours & it was presented with great care. The food was freshly cooked & the portions were perfect. Not too much, just right. It really is a hidden gem. Go there if you enjoy Indian food that is cooked with love. We are looking forward to going there again as soon as possible. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal.

Should of known, worst chicken korma (and most expensive) I've ever had in my life, didn't even taste or look like Korma, mango chutney was mass produced wholesale.
