A great find. Small restaurant slightly out of town but it's a hidden gem. Beautiful, rich curries with amazing flavours. If you fancy a damn good curry when you're in Bristol. Look no further. Yep. I'm impressed.

14th feb 2024....our first visit and oh what a place...didnt expect the.place to look so small and unassuming....inside is just so tasteful. So, to the food and service..both equally second to none....we.got over excited and probably ordered enough food for 4..just because there was so much to choose from ....exquisite.....we didnt finish it but it was all.packed up for.us to take home 😋......so for THE most amazing,value for money,customer service and atmosphere....this is the place to go ...thank.you all at Rajbari

we celebrated a 30th birthday as a large group booking. the staff were so accommodating and even offered the birthday boy a drink on the house! the food was absolutely gorgeous and so authentic. would highly recommend!

Dined here on Sunday evening, it was a little quiet but what it lacked in atmosphere it certainly made up for with service and food, the onion bhaji was crispy and light, the breads were fluffy and flavoursome, and the lamb sag was so tender and perfectly spiced, everything we ordered between the 3 of us comes out pipping hot and really tasty, we will definitely return it's a little away from the regular route around the docks, but worth the detour

A long walk from the centre of Bristol, and worth every step I can assure you! We had an Excellent Curry, was welcomed with friendly service and less than 30mins til closing time! Have added this place to my top 3 Indian Restaurants in the UK, and yes I've been to many! The Mixed Grill was perfection.

Ate here last Friday night. Table for 4 people. Lovely comfortable surroundings, nice ambience too. Given plenty of time to order, massive choice on the menu. Everything was amazing, starters, mains and sides (mushroom bhaji especially). Possibly the nicest curry I've ever had (we all said the same). Can't wait to return. Well done to the team for the whole experience!

Visited for my partners birthday. We arrived slightly early which wasn't an issue for the staff. Staff were very friendly, food was delicious, came out hot and tastied fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again. Pictured is a plain naan, mushroom rice, prawn bhuna & lamb jalfrezi

Unpleasant experience with food that lacked spiciness. Ordered the chicken bhuna, chicken biryani and aloo gobi. Food was aromatic and flavourful but with a complete lack of spiciness even though their menu said “medium”. Checked with the servers, who said it was supposed to be “mild” and “the British would find that spicy”. They offered green chillis to ensure that I “feel satisfied”, and charged £1 for a few whole chillis. What made the experience worse was a server who asked a lot of personal questions which I found intrusive. He also assumed that food from my hometown were spicy, which the fact was the contrary. Of note, they charged £6.3 for two papadoms and a condiment tray. While many Indian restaurants I have been to in this country offered them for free, at Raj Bari they were even more expensive than most of their starter options. Maybe it was a meal that “The British” would enjoy, but for me it was certainly unpleasant.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen in schöner Atmosphäre. Die Gewürze sind fein abgestimmt und nicht aufdringlich. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend. Für Vegetarier geeignet. Wir kommen wieder.

Went to our very favourite Indian restaurant tonight for our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing, as were the staff. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and the staff reserved a table with easy access for my powerchair. Thank you Raj Bari for a lovely evening. I would rate you 10 stars if I could! Angel & Gary

I went last night with my family. I stated clearly at order point Allergic to Lemon an coconut the waiter wrote it down and repeated it back to me to clarify. To my horror my curry came out with slice of lemon on top of it!!! When i pointed this out the waiter he laughed, then his superior came and asked if there was issue, explained allergic to lemon to which he found it funny too!!! Our meal cost £79 for 3 of us, I could of gone into anaphylaxis or worse case died and they found this funny! Clearly will not go back again as being allergic to something is serious matter, please staff an apology would been nice! To top it off out came the lemon hot wet wipe after meal!

A very friendly warm welcome and very good service from the start. The food was excellent and the suggestions of types of dish was good. We really enjoyed the whole evening and would definately go back. Highly Recommend.

This was the second time my girlfriend and I visited the restaurant together. The food and service were exceptional, with some great vegetarian options for myself.Charly had a chicken madras with a plain Naan and I had the butter chilli paneer with mushroom rice and a paratha - and we had a portion of chips between us.My butter chilli paneer was a perfect balance of hot and sweet, the paratha was perfect for dipping in the curry sauce and the mushroom rice was one of the best I've had, with wafer thin pieces of caramelised onion to accompany the mushrooms and Charlys Naan was beautifully crisp and fluffy.The waiting staff were lovely guys and even gave Charly a rose at the end of our visit.We will definitely be back again.

Tremendous Karahi well spiced and cooked to perfection. Prawn Dhansak has a great sauce. Nice atmosphere in a pleasant location by the harbour side, great for couples , will definitely come back

Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful.Returned after a very poor experience in December 21, hoping that the service would have improved. Sadly not. Staff were inattentive, had to badger the manager to order our main course, waited a further 70 minutes and had to badger again,. Deciding to leave, were asked by the manager if we had booked a table, implying that those that hadn’t (he had taken us to our table!), were last to be served! Incredibly poor customer service. The business is shockingly managed.

Stopped off on the off chance late on a Saturday evening with 3 friends, was given a table by friendly staff, served a choice of kingfisher or Cobra, went for both (both great) and was then served with probably the best Chicken Dansak I’ve ever had. Great food, great service, great value for money, highly recommend.

My husband and I dined here last night, we are down from Leamington Spa for a long weekend. We have enjoy Asian food in many of Restraunts all over the world and I can honestly say this was one of the very best we have tasted. The quality of the dishes & the delicate spices & flavours were exceptional. The staff were an absolute joy, professional & yet friendly & chatty too, they couldn't do enough for us. We would recommend this Restraunt to anyone who loves this type of food but wants to enjoy an exceptional authentic & rather special meal.

I am from London but working in Bristol.Nutmeg in Clifton is good, as is Urban Tandoor if you actually go there but if you order online beware as Urban Tandoor have a fake kitchen for Delivery which is nothing like eating there.So onto Raj Bari, i have not been there but will make sure i do. I have however had takeaways delivered from all over Bristol and Raj Bari is the best.The food is excellent and i always call them when ordering and they are friendly, professional and efficient to the extreme.This is a very good business with people who really care. I do not write reviews but i do when i feel i need to and this is one of them.The food is excellent. Simple as that. This is from someone who loves curry and has travelled all over the UK and Europe.Support these guys and give them a try, you absolutely will not be disappointed

I don't often get a mild curry, but this one was deliscious. As was everyone of our groups. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Could not recommend high enough!

We met up and didn’t stop talking. Staff were so patient with us as we must have taken 45 minutes to order. Everyone’s food was delicious, as always . They even cooked omelette and chips for one of our party who, for some reason, doesn’t like curry. Thank you for a lovely evening.

The authenticity of the place itself was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. The food being 100% amazing just topped it all off. We had friendly conversations about the history of the place especially the hand crafted glass lighting decorations. The portions were great and very filling and thats coming from a girl that knows how to eat ! Would definitely be a regular!

Been to the Raj my whole life (25+ years) and never once had a bad curry from the place. Staff are always super friendly and attentive, service is efficient and they always go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant experience whether you’re eating in, or takeaway, in a family group or, with a bunch of friends.

Some lovely touches to decor since reopening, everything fresh and clean. New manager Anis continues the fine tradition of great service and hospitality, and best of all the food is just as good as ever. This has always been a great Indian restaurant and hopefully will remain our go to for a special evening out for many years to come.

We often get takeaways from Raj Bari with my partners parents. Last night we had a selection of curry’s, nans, bhajis and sides and it was excellent. I had the lamb rogan, and my partner had a Balti dish. Best curry we’ve had in ages! Great place!

We have literally just been saved from hunger by the awesome Raj Bari! On the way home from work we nipped in, shamefully close to their closing time. Such awesome staff who were happy to cook us our supper, when they were probably just about to pack up for the day! We had chicken rogan josh and chicken tikka sag balti and oh my days - we are now full and in heaven. The freshest ingredients and the finest service! We can’t wait to come back to actually eat in! I've had several years where I've been unable to find any Indian restaurant that can make me feel loyal to them. I value taste and quality of food first and my taste buds are in heaven right now. I had a lamb Madras unlike any other tonight. Lamb Madras is just a standard curry, I thought, but now I see some chefs have other ideas.Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Visité el Raj Bari anoche y debo decir que es uno de los mejores restaurantes indios en los que he estado (he estado en muchos). Tuve una bienvenida increíble del nuevo propietario Anis y todo fue seguro Covid. Me obligaron a desinfectar mis manos y me revisaron la temperatura al llegar. El personal fue amable y pudo responder cualquier pregunta que tuviera. Los baños estaban extraordinariamente limpios. El personal se veía genial con su nuevo uniforme y no pudo hacer más para ayudarnos. Anis me recomendó el pollo tikka butter chili y fue para morirse. Perfectamente condimentado y combinaba con todos los aspectos que le dije que buscaba en un curry. ¡Definitivamente volveré! Gracias por todo chicos, sigan así. Un gran comienzo para el próximo capítulo del Raj Bari. ¡Te veo pronto!

Great Food, great service, Chicken Tikka Massalla was exceptional it went really well with the peshwari naan bread, never had any complaints with the Raj Bari, always superb, Highly Recommended 10/10.

Hemos sido clientes habituales durante más de 10 años y este restaurante siempre fue uno de nuestros favoritos, pero esta vez simplemente quedamos impresionados por el sabor, ¡fue increíble! Incluso le pregunté al chico que nos atendía si cambiaron de chef:) el chef sigue siendo el mismo, ¡pero la comida pasó de ser muy buena a absolutamente excelente! Además, todo el personal es muy amable y acogedor, y después de enterarse de que era el cumpleaños de nuestro hijo, le ofrecieron un postre de cortesía, lo cual fue un toque encantador. En general, fue una experiencia gastronómica encantadora y definitivamente volveremos por más :)Muy recomendable ??

Anis has taken over the restaurant with the existing cooking staff and it’s as good as it was under Ronni (who will be missed, happy retirement!). Fully recommended.

I’m so pleased we decided to give this restaurant a try last week as the food we picked up was the best selection of curries we’ve had for years. Everyone was happy with their selection. Now I’ve found it I will be a regular customer.

I pick up a curry with my Dad most Fridays and the people are so kind. If it takes long, they offer us free drinks and give chocolates every time. The food is delicious too. I would especially recommend the naan bread.

We just had one main meat dish and a couple of vegetable side dishes. Everything was fresh and tasty.

The restaurant has a nice glass engraved beautiful ambience. 5 🌟 food. Everything goes us out of the water. Chicken tikka, honey chicken, rice and naan. The staff and owner were extremely polite. Well Worth a try.

My family like it here but even they were disappointed with the meal. First time here for me. Monday evening with a couple of other customers but the service was a little slow. Took an hour for our food to reach the table of 10. This could be because it's all cooked fresh but not convinced. Food was ok but nothing terribly special in my opinion. Reasonably priced is the saving grace apart from drinks which I feel were quite pricey. Parking outside after 6.30pm or there is a small ree car park a few minutes away.

A regular haunt. Seldom overcrowded and the food, if understated, is always first rate. Nothing comes very highly spiced so, if a Vindaloo is your standard, you may want to ask them to fire things up a bit. Attentive service and reasonably priced.

Han estado visitando el Raj Bari porque Dios sabe cuántos años. Siempre he entregado una comida fantástica con una gran variedad de platos en el menú. El personal es amigable y accesible y siempre está dispuesto a hacer un esfuerzo adicional si las cosas no han sido como se esperaba. Mi pollo (cordero) Adrak era insípido y sin sabor, aunque se describe en el menú como bastante caluroso. Del mismo modo, el paneer sag no tenía sabor. Sólo una persona disfrutó de su comida. Primera y última visita, de vuelta a Posh Spice!

Food was delicious, came out quickly and we had an all round lovely meal! Would definitely recommend Raj Bari if you're looking for a great sit down curry.

Visitamos con esposa e hijo. Lo positivo fue un servicio rápido y eficiente, agradable decoración y ambiente. Las porciones también eran generosas. Sin embargo, la comida era muy sosa. La cebolla bajee tenía poco sabor desagradable y era un poco chiflada. Los staters fritos estilo berenjena fritos eran suaves y suaves. Los platos principales estaban bien, pero definitivamente han tenido mucho mejor en otro lugar a un costo menor. No volveremos y probaremos una alternativa la próxima vez.

Have visited many times before. Today! Disappointing . 2 poppadoms & chutneys, very nice. Just a chicken tikka, mushroom rice & tarka dhal to follow. Mushroom rice nice but quite greasy. Tarka dhal nice but a bit watery, not thick & creamy. Chicken tikka, very disappointing, 2nd customer in, tandoor oven should be hot and ready to plunge in a skewer of fresh spicy chicken in.... but no ☹️, small portion, very dry, overcooked and even worse, reheated. Oh dear, no excuse.

This restaurant came recommended to me by someone in the hotel and it was very delicious. Quite authentic Indian cuisine. The prices were reasonable and the service was good. The restaurant is small, but that adds to the deliciousness of the experience.

We'd heard good things about this place and it didn't disappoint; four of us left very satisfied after a strong showing on all four mains. The Chicken Tikka Butter Chilli was particularly noteworthy- if you like a bit of warmth from your dish this is definitely worth a try.

It is not our favourite curry in the area but it is nice enough for us to use when we need a take-away.

Called in on Saturday night 4 of us not busy and easily accommodated. plenty of staff service was efficient and the choice of food extensive. We ordered starters and a main course each with the usually Curry side dishes. The food was quick we were not waiting long and each course was well prepared and different would not hesitate to recommend this to curry lovers.

We were staying in an apartment just along the road to the Raj Bari so called in for a midweek meal - we were not disappointed.
