Haveli The Yard is one of Bristol's best Indian restaurants. We held our annual Christmas curry for a table of 14 at Haveli this year and were really impressed. They accommodated our needs at a busy time, service was friendly and diligent and we didn't feel rushed, spending nearly three hours in the restaurant enjoying starters, mains and cocktails. The menu is deep and varied with a good blend of traditional and modern dishes and the vegetarians in our group had plenty of choice. I really enjoyed my starter of samosa chat and the veg balti was deeply flavorful and nicely spiced - the paneer Lababdar also looked excellent. I can also thoroughly recommend finishing off your meal with an Old Fashioned. The restaurant is modern, bright and spacious -ideal for a large group, and the team are friendly and care about the customer experience. Overall, I'd put Haveli up there with my other Bristol favourites - Namak, Dhamaka and Mowgli.

I’d like to take a moment to personal thank Kundan for an amazing time yesterday. I visited Haveli for a friends birthday dinner and he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and recommendations to ensure we had an amazing time. I would 100000% visit again. Thank you so much Kundan. Additionally, the service was fast and efficient but without feeling rushed. The food was served hot and delicious

The food was good, but honestly, £122 for three small starters, three mains, and two beers in total seems excessive to me, especially considering the portion sizes, which were very small. This was particularly noticeable with the main courses: there’s a lot of sauce but very little meat. That said, the quality of the food was good, even though, as I mentioned, the portions were not generous. The atmosphere was nice as well.

Good atmosphere however the food quality was real bad. Ordered a Chicken Tikka which was basically uncooked chicken in cheese pile. The chatt starters were good however the main course was absolute disaster even after specifically talking about it. Also, they declined to grant a 25% off total using Gourmet Membership on total bill which was explicitly stated on the app for the menu. Wouldn't visit the restaurant again. Extremely disappointed

The best Indian I have had in a long time. Highly recommend. I will certainly be returning here. They serve the usual dishes here alongside those you do not usually see. It was nice being able to try something new. The cocktails are also really good. I had the Chaat for starters and Saag Gosht. The lamb in the curry just melted in your mouth and the sauce was very tasty. My friend had lamb chops for starters and a prawn curry. The prawns were really big. I didn't try it but she also enjoyed the meal. The naan breads were really fresh and so was the pickle tray.

We came all the way from Wales, on our anniversary and did research and we were not disappointed. Special thanks to Kundan for his speedy service and friendly welcome. Food was really good and closer to our taste. Felt food was good after a long time. Thanks. FYI I am very skeptical when it comes to Indian food in UK as most places its just red coloured curry.

This is by far the best Indian meal that I've had in years! "The 70's Balti" is excellent in name and taste! A good medium spiced curry. Just enough for a tingle. I don't remember the name of the chaat I had to start but it was crunchy and contained pomegranate. It was amazing!

I recommend the egg plant based curry 🍛 😋

The food was impeccable, the service even more so. When you're blown away by the smell of the bathrooms that's always a great sign! You have to get the samosa chaat, it's one of the best indian dishes I have ever had and makes me ashamed to have ordered all the indian takeaways I have in my life.

I've booked several work meals with Amir and the team at Haveli The Yard. The team are so friendly and welcoming - they make every visit speedy and always serve brilliant food every single time. I've had many colleagues say how great the experience was. If I'm ever in the area and need to arrange a meal for a group of 5 or 50, Amir and the team are always my first port of call.

Lovely service. Great chap who went away and got us the means of making the chaat so lovely and crunchy. Do have the first chaat as a starter, just lovely. Curry was excellent too but the highlight for me, simple but true, was the gorgeous aromatic saffron rice. Beats pilau into a cocked hat. Beer was good too.

Popped in after a BRI hospital visit. Lovely menu, excellent friendly and informative service. The food was delicious. We asked about the recipe for the Chaat (amazing and so tasty) and got plenty of detail. Would go back.

Easily one of the best Indian restaurants in town! The staff are genuinely exceptional, going above and beyond to help you select the perfect dish tailored to your taste. Even during busy periods, the service is impressively swift, with food arriving promptly and piping hot. The flavors are outstanding across the board, from the starters to the mains—though the nihaari deserves a special mention for its rich, authentic taste. Whether you’re a seasoned fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit for a memorable dining experience.

we ordered the dadi jaan ki handi (13.95£) and the butter chicken (14.95£) and both were delicious! perfect with the garlic naan and would recommend sharing both. the calamari and tandoori wings were tasty too; but very small in portion. kundan was very friendly

I ordered haveli the yard after seeing it on social media and wanting to go for a while but I have mixed reviews on the food that I received. I had ordered lamb biryani, chicken jalfrezi, white rice, garlic naan and lamb chops which came as a really good deal altogether for a total of £15 exc the biryani dish. The jalfrezi that I’ve had from other Indian restaurants are never spicy enough for me even if I’d ask for it to be hotter but this one has spice to it, which was really nice. The white rice that came with the dish was nothing special just simple white rice and the naan bread was nice and flavoursome with garlic. The lamb chops, although flavoursome were quite oily as the chops came in the container laying in more oil left in there. Not to mention, some were slight overcooked. Lastly, the lamb biryani, again, although flavoursome had a mushy texture which isn’t normal with biryani or any rice dish. All in all, I think I would give it another go and visit inside the actual restaurant but I’d definitely order different things.

Possible the best Indian I have ever had. The place and staff were amazing, but the food was out of this world. The most succulent chicken I have eaten. Just amazing.

Food was great (especially the naan and lamb Bihari) and the cocktails were superb - a bit on the pricey side, but if you can afford it, it’s well worth a try.

Beautiful interior, really good food including the presentation for our starters, great service, no idea why it wasn't overly busy on Friday evening. Definitely deserves go be one of the more recommended Indians in bristol, my fiance and I will definitely be returning!

I went here with my lovely girlfriend and we had a great dinner and service was super nice they were really lovely as the waiters were very friendly.

Third visit, once again greeted by an excellent & friendly service accommodating to allergies & dietary requirements, food was delicious, atmosphere was just right and right in the heart of Bristol not too far from any nightlife. Will be revisiting again very soon

I usually dont like this type of food (or write reviews 😂🤭) but WOW i am converted!! Went for my partners bday meal this evening with the family and had the lamb shank… and some garlic chilli naan… well… im blown away!! The staff are really friendly helpful and welcoming. My autistic son who usually struggles when out clearly felt at ease in the calm relaxing environment and enjoyed his evening too. The environment, the staff, and the food were all FABULOUS!!! All family left really HAPPY with our meal and our evening and ALL said we would deffo return!! Massive thumbs up to staff and the chef!! 😘🫶👌 (we will be visiting again soon!!) xx

Visited Bristol on a business trip and was looking for a dinner venue. After looking online, we decided to book here as the reviews were good. I’m so glad we did, the food was absolutely gorgeous, honestly the best Indian I've had in while. The cocktails were also very good but most of all, the staff were so welcoming. They weee not only attentive and helpful (recommended dishes), but really they also took time to talk to us and engage. To top the evening off, we had a specially made shot created for us! We will definitely be back! Thank you Amir and to all of your staff ☺️

The decorations were really good, the ladies bathroom lacks maintenance inside the stalls, we waited for the food for one hour and a half, the taste wasn't that good, besides the bread and the chicken on it, and the waiter was kinda pushy.

Amazed with service, poeple were warm-hearted. Foods are just mouth watering. With the kind of service and foods. Prices of food are worth it. And above bartender were just so connected with us. Tiny portions - 2 small prawns as a starter of Gunpowder Prawns they still had the tails on to make them look bigger. They lay the table with bottled water to avoid you asking for a jug of water and, of course this bumps up the bill, We were a party of 6 and asked for a rice and naan between 2 but they bought 4 of each - again another way of bumping up the bill. Mo one had more tan one small beer and 2 people were drinking only water and the bill for 2 courses was £45 each for 2 small prawns and very average Indian food.

The food is topnotch. So different to the regular Indian restaurants. Amazing flavours. The staff were really attentive and appreciated our custom. We're from Swindon but we'll be back.

Really enjoyed the food,we Google searched for best restaurants in Bristol and this place came up, I now understand why from the moment we walked in to finish was all immaculate. Its ashame we don't live in Bristol. But will definitely recommend to friends and family visiting Bristol.

Came here on weekend staff was amazing and the quality of food was amazing, the chicken especially was juicy and soft unlike most places. Definitely recommend you will not be disappointed

Great experience here. Waiters are very attentive, the food was very good. They have Panipuri on the menu which is always a treat!

Nice place with plenty of seating inside and out.. Helpful staff. Food was very dissapointing, prawns were smothered in chilli with no mango taste couldn't even taste the prawn. Chickens starter was 3 small pieces, more style then substance. Curry was generic and tasteless, loaded with finer and peppers uncooked. Naan as nice.

We have found this restaurant from google and went to try, it was late time that almost they were closing. However, they were so friendly and helpful, accepted us and serviced very well. The food was delicious, we have tried the Indian cuisine first time with my two chinese friends, they also like it . We have tried the biryhani and some sides. Thank you very much for your friendly service and taste ( especially for bartender guy)

I'm rating down the food as I had found a piece of chicken in a paneer dish I ordered. The curry sauce itself was nice until I found the piece of chicken in the sauce. This is personally a horrible experience for me as I'm a vegetarian. The restaurant also didn't honour the gourmet society discount card, even though it was valid. They gave their own made up small discount and excuse that they're not doing discounts. Overall it has not been a great experience for food or service.

It was fine, I have given 4 stars as there was nothing wrong with the experience but I was just dissapointed with the food based on the ratings I'd read. We booked through first table so price was excellent. I would recomend a visit but it's not my favourite Indian restaurant in Bristol.
