Excellent food, we absolutely loved every dish that we ordered! Would definitely recommend the cauliflower pieces for a starter. The waiter was lovely and offered the option of having any of the chicken dishes with vegetarian alternatives. Absolutely loved the range of options.

We had a poor experience. Food was well below average for Indian cuisine & staff gave quite a sales pitch approach during service. The glasses were not clean & they had the cheek to charge us for table water(?). Would not recommend

Attended a private party held for a family member at Haveli with around 40 guests. Food and mocktails were delicious, setting is beautiful and staff catered towards all the needs of our attendees including delicious options for those with allergies. It is difficult to find halal caterers and function rooms in the Bristol area so we were glad to find this place. We would highly recommend Haveli The Yard for a small private function or gathering.

If you don't mind a pleasant but rather steep walk up the picturesque Christmas steps, above and to the right on Maudlin, you will find this reasonably priced excellent Indian food restaurant with very good service. There is definitely an element of distinct creativity in the fare.

I ordered haveli the yard after seeing it on social media and wanting to go for a while but I have mixed reviews on the food that I received. I had ordered lamb biryani, chicken jalfrezi, white rice, garlic naan and lamb chops which came as a really good deal altogether for a total of £15 exc the biryani dish. The jalfrezi that I’ve had from other Indian restaurants are never spicy enough for me even if I’d ask for it to be hotter but this one has spice to it, which was really nice. The white rice that came with the dish was nothing special just simple white rice and the naan bread was nice and flavoursome with garlic. The lamb chops, although flavoursome were quite oily as the chops came in the container laying in more oil left in there. Not to mention, some were slight overcooked. Lastly, the lamb biryani, again, although flavoursome had a mushy texture which isn’t normal with biryani or any rice dish. All in all, I think I would give it another go and visit inside the actual restaurant but I’d definitely order different things.

The food was extremely disappointing.The Indian cuisine lacked taste and authenticity. A change in chef or a shift in the restaurant’s culinary direction is recommended.

A friend and I booked a table via First Table. Neither had been here before and we were blown away! Firstly, the decor is incredible, gorgeous lighting and everything looks so beautiful. Service with a smile and full introduction to the menu, given some recommendations to complement our tastes. The food was so well presented and pretty on the plate and the tastes were out of this world. I can’t believe this restaurant is facing hardships - people need to go and try it, you’ll love it as much as we did! Can’t wait to go back again and try other dishes on the menu. There wasn’t one we disliked so we’re sure to be amazed again. This place is a gem!

Nicest curry I have had in Bristol! The paneer chilli starter was incredible and the mains are always great! It's not cheap as it's by the city centre however it is definitely worth the price!

Service was very prompt and food all came out delicious - even better than we expected. Cocktails were also great and affordable during happy hour! Best place for Indian cuisine in Bristol that we have tried yet. Will come again!

I booked 9:15 pm slots for Sunday. And my table was booked till 11:15pm. Food was served at 9:52pm. And staffs started telling that 10pm is closing time so please vacant the restaurant by 10pm and once 10 pm was crossed they started yelling by saying that 10pm is the closing time so you should vacant the restaurant as soon as possible.

Fantastic food and great service

This was the worst restaurant I visited in the last decade or so. I don't think it deserves a star as well. Quantity was way too little and staff was rude to the level they asked to finish the food in 15 mins. Food was not the level and worth the price. I urge people to consider going to a better place than spending money here.

One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever eaten at. Food was a different tier to your usual Indian and whilst this was reflected in the price, it was definitely worth it and the happy hour deal on cocktails was also nice. In particular the mango chutney dip with the popadoms went down very well! In addition to the great food, the staff were very polite, friendly, attentive and helpful in answering a couple questions about some of the dishes on the menu. All in all a wonderful experience and we will definitely return when we next visit Bristol!

Disappointed by their service. I was told they were open from 1pm Monday to Wednesday, so I turned up at 1.15pm on Tuesday 4/3/25, only to find it was closed. There was no notification of this on their website. Such unreliable service is very disappointing.

Amazing atmosphere, great and speedy service as well as lovely food! Had been looking forward to having a good Indian all week and this place certainly delivered! We were surprised about how filling the portions were too, had enough spare to take home with us. Service was attentive, respectful and fast and the food was well worth the money, especially compared to many other Indian restaurants. Will be coming back!

Inicialmente todo se veía bien en este restaurante. El personal era complaciente, el entrante era agradable, pero los platos principales eran decepcionantes. Dos cosas se destacaron. En primer lugar, el pollo utilizado era carne de pierna / muslo, y todavía contenía trozos de cartílago de las articulaciones entre los huesos, que obviamente no era comestible. La carne en sí no era muy agradable. En segundo lugar, el menú hizo una gran cosa acerca de algunos de los platos picantes y calientes - 'no para los débiles de corazón' el menú dijo para las madras que tenía. Bueno, no hacía 'calor' en lo más mínimo, no capté calor en el plato. Me fui decepcionado, no es lo que esperaría de un restaurante.

I want to weep tears of joy! Finally! A good place to get a takeaway curry from in Bristol that is clearly good quality ingredients and meat and tastes like it was cooked fresh and not nuked in a microwave. The food from here is AMAZING!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Haveli The Yard. I booked through the First Table app, where you’re supposed to get 50% off food. However, the food was underwhelming and nothing special. The service was horrendous. We had to point out which plates were ours, and the staff seemed uninterested and unorganized. As soon as we entered, a couple at the cash desk was complaining about waiting 40 minutes for their drinks, which didn’t give me much hope. The worst part came when the owner approached us before the bill arrived, asking for a good review. Later, when it was time to pay, we realized the food wasn’t discounted at all. The special offer from First Table clearly stated 50% off food (excluding drinks), but the owner started scribbling on our bill with a pen, listing all the exclusions—exclusions that weren’t mentioned anywhere in the First Table terms. He went from a £124 bill to charging us £90, citing his own “special conditions” that weren’t displayed on the app. To top it off, he asked where we were from, clearly assuming we were tourists based on us speaking Italian, perhaps thinking he could squeeze more money out of us. It felt manipulative and unprofessional. I won’t be returning, and I highly advise others to steer clear.

I ordered papdi chat and i asked for some modifications and that was not at all followed then it was chilli panner which was tasting like only soya sauce has been added and there was no taste and i ordered Pune Handi in which the gravy was so thick that I wasn’t able to even take the gravy instead of paneer very very disappointed with the service neither of the staff was able to understand what I’m trying to say but really I didn’t expected this thing having such good wedding, I don’t know how many people managed to get that rating by having that quality of food if you need you can contact me any time.

Haveli The Yard proved to be an excellent choice for our weekend gathering. As a group friends, we were impressed by the restaurant’s inviting atmosphere, elegant ambiance, and outstanding service, particularly from Mr. Kundan. We began our meal with Punjabi Samosa Chaat, Paapri Chaat, and Gobi 65—all of which were flavorful and well-prepared. For the main course, we enjoyed Paneer Lababdar and Subzi Kadhai, complemented by Chilli Cheese Naans. Additionally, we ordered Dal Makhani, which was exceptionally rich and delicious. We had Mango Milkshake for the drink. Overall, the combination of delectable cuisine, warm ambiance, and excellent service made our dining experience truly memorable.

Haveli The Yard is one of Bristol's best Indian restaurants. We held our annual Christmas curry for a table of 14 at Haveli this year and were really impressed. They accommodated our needs at a busy time, service was friendly and diligent and we didn't feel rushed, spending nearly three hours in the restaurant enjoying starters, mains and cocktails. The menu is deep and varied with a good blend of traditional and modern dishes and the vegetarians in our group had plenty of choice. I really enjoyed my starter of samosa chat and the veg balti was deeply flavorful and nicely spiced - the paneer Lababdar also looked excellent. I can also thoroughly recommend finishing off your meal with an Old Fashioned. The restaurant is modern, bright and spacious -ideal for a large group, and the team are friendly and care about the customer experience. Overall, I'd put Haveli up there with my other Bristol favourites - Namak, Dhamaka and Mowgli.

The food was good, but honestly, £122 for three small starters, three mains, and two beers in total seems excessive to me, especially considering the portion sizes, which were very small. This was particularly noticeable with the main courses: there’s a lot of sauce but very little meat. That said, the quality of the food was good, even though, as I mentioned, the portions were not generous. The atmosphere was nice as well.

Good atmosphere however the food quality was real bad. Ordered a Chicken Tikka which was basically uncooked chicken in cheese pile. The chatt starters were good however the main course was absolute disaster even after specifically talking about it. Also, they declined to grant a 25% off total using Gourmet Membership on total bill which was explicitly stated on the app for the menu. Wouldn't visit the restaurant again. Extremely disappointed

The best Indian I have had in a long time. Highly recommend. I will certainly be returning here. They serve the usual dishes here alongside those you do not usually see. It was nice being able to try something new. The cocktails are also really good. I had the Chaat for starters and Saag Gosht. The lamb in the curry just melted in your mouth and the sauce was very tasty. My friend had lamb chops for starters and a prawn curry. The prawns were really big. I didn't try it but she also enjoyed the meal. The naan breads were really fresh and so was the pickle tray.

We came all the way from Wales, on our anniversary and did research and we were not disappointed. Special thanks to Kundan for his speedy service and friendly welcome. Food was really good and closer to our taste. Felt food was good after a long time. Thanks. FYI I am very skeptical when it comes to Indian food in UK as most places its just red coloured curry.

This is by far the best Indian meal that I've had in years! "The 70's Balti" is excellent in name and taste! A good medium spiced curry. Just enough for a tingle. I don't remember the name of the chaat I had to start but it was crunchy and contained pomegranate. It was amazing!

The food was impeccable, the service even more so. When you're blown away by the smell of the bathrooms that's always a great sign! You have to get the samosa chaat, it's one of the best indian dishes I have ever had and makes me ashamed to have ordered all the indian takeaways I have in my life.

I've booked several work meals with Amir and the team at Haveli The Yard. The team are so friendly and welcoming - they make every visit speedy and always serve brilliant food every single time. I've had many colleagues say how great the experience was. If I'm ever in the area and need to arrange a meal for a group of 5 or 50, Amir and the team are always my first port of call.

Popped in after a BRI hospital visit. Lovely menu, excellent friendly and informative service. The food was delicious. We asked about the recipe for the Chaat (amazing and so tasty) and got plenty of detail. Would go back.

Lovely service. Great chap who went away and got us the means of making the chaat so lovely and crunchy. Do have the first chaat as a starter, just lovely. Curry was excellent too but the highlight for me, simple but true, was the gorgeous aromatic saffron rice. Beats pilau into a cocked hat. Beer was good too.

we ordered the dadi jaan ki handi (13.95£) and the butter chicken (14.95£) and both were delicious! perfect with the garlic naan and would recommend sharing both. the calamari and tandoori wings were tasty too; but very small in portion. kundan was very friendly

Possible the best Indian I have ever had. The place and staff were amazing, but the food was out of this world. The most succulent chicken I have eaten. Just amazing.

Beautiful interior, really good food including the presentation for our starters, great service, no idea why it wasn't overly busy on Friday evening. Definitely deserves go be one of the more recommended Indians in bristol, my fiance and I will definitely be returning!

Third visit, once again greeted by an excellent & friendly service accommodating to allergies & dietary requirements, food was delicious, atmosphere was just right and right in the heart of Bristol not too far from any nightlife. Will be revisiting again very soon

I usually dont like this type of food (or write reviews 😂🤭) but WOW i am converted!! Went for my partners bday meal this evening with the family and had the lamb shank… and some garlic chilli naan… well… im blown away!! The staff are really friendly helpful and welcoming. My autistic son who usually struggles when out clearly felt at ease in the calm relaxing environment and enjoyed his evening too. The environment, the staff, and the food were all FABULOUS!!! All family left really HAPPY with our meal and our evening and ALL said we would deffo return!! Massive thumbs up to staff and the chef!! 😘🫶👌 (we will be visiting again soon!!) xx
