The pub is fantastic, great atmosphere and good beer selection, staff are nice. Can't comment on the food because I've never tried it; it's a pub not a restaurant.

Great pub, visited this place to see the sea shanty band had a great atmosphere and the pub was really packed out, but the staff handled it well 👍 only down side is with all those people in there it got extremely hot 🔥

Was a decent pub with a good beer and cider selection also had a good atmosphere ... Down sides I have was it was so hot even for a cold night proper Betty swallocks and the toilets were pretty manky!!!

Pub on Kingsdown with the nicest selection of beers (craft and traditional) and chilled out, open and airy feel. Has really kicked on with the new landlord, with great, occasional live music.

such a delightful pub! the interior is very welcoming and there’s something interesting to look at in every corner. really reasonably priced (£3.30 for a pint of Bullion ale) and great location.

I highly recommend visiting this place, I have never been disappointed. Always with changing local craft beers, good music and amazing vibes and they're roast dinners are to die for, I highly recommend getting one if your near by! (Trust me they have the best roast this side of Bristol) When I leave reviews they're normally because I'm upset at a service however after visiting this amazing space over the last few years I can honestly say if you haven't visited before, your missing out! Great Pub, Great Staff, Great owners, Affordable prices and a all round great space to visit when in Kingsdown and stokes croft.

Staff whenever I visit are friendly and welcoming. Has a great selection of international/ local beers on tap and in the fridges.

Lovely Bristol pub with a relaxed atmosphere. We came here for Sunday roast and booked on the day which was v convenient! I would happily come again - I only docked a star because the veggie wellington was a bit cold but still tasted good 👍

What a gorgeous pub! We were visiting Bristol for 2 days and went here for a pub quiz. Brilliant evening and the barman was friendly and welcoming. Loved the decor and the whole atmosphere.

Its a pub no doubt! Very 'real ales and cider' place. The dj was playing northern soul on vinyls and I'm not gonna lie, I had a cracking evening. Will be back.

Came here for the sea shanty night. The pub it self is great. Nice selection of beer and music but once the sea shanty night started the pub became overcrowded to the point you couldn't join in with the shanties let alone order a drink so we decided to leave. We I'll be back to the pub just not for the sea shanty night as it feels too clostrophobic in such a small venue

An old-school pub up behind a huge tower block, this is a haven for young arty people with a taste for modern brews and eccentric music. We loved it.

The most revolting smelling pub toilets I have ever had the misfortune to visit in my life. What in the name of god is going on with that?! Why would you put your customers through that? The horror.

This was the first pub I went to in Bristol, it was well worth her walk. There’s a fabulous craft beer selection and the music was excellent. The only reason I’m taking a star away is because the pub was very cold.

Very nice pub, great atmosphere, great local beers and ales and imo one of the greatest ciders out There! Really friendly staff with a very warm welcoming attitude, would highly recommend, I haven't tried the food from kansei kitchen yet but if what I've already experienced is anything to go by it would also be a must. I shall try on my next visit.

The wonderful Hare on the Hill have re-opened for take out beerand snacks. They have a range of bottles and cask ales - see their website for details - that you can take away in returnable glass bottles. Also a local bike delivery service. All with strict hygiene, face masked landlords (who is who) and social distancing. Also watch out for live streamed DJ set on FB !

(written under old Landlord, haven't been back since he moved on so not sure if this is still the case...) Love this pub. Super friendly staff and owner. Great selection of ale, Lager and craft. Pop up kitchens occasionally which are always of an excellent standard. Really nice place to spend an evening. Open mic nights on Wednesday are of a surprisingly high standard.

For my own tastes, this is the best pub in Bristol. Cosy and laid back. Friendly staff and an ever present positive vibe which visibly affects everyone who visits. They play great music on vinyl and serve delicious food and snacks. They also have a full calendar of events from pub quizzes to unique live music (I recently watched Sea Shanties performed there). Hare on the Hill is everything I want from a Bristol neighbourhood bar.

Nice pub. Very British. Good beers for a decent price. The 7%alchool stout should be tried. Music playedfrom vinil discs, just like in the '60s-'70s. Nice staff.
