All the dishes we tried were delicious! Good portions, well presented and honest prices. I’m so gutted that I discovered this restaurant only now that they are about to close 😞 I will definitely try to be back before then Thank you for the amazing food and service 🙏

The food was really creative and tasty – lots of interesting plates. Only one of the dishes - the field mushrooms with dumplings - was pasty and watery. The plates were small, so order more than they advise or you will leave hungry. Avoid the pizza popcorn. The service was a big let down. They only do service once each hour so you have to wait a long time for your food and they are understaffed so you don't get much service. When they do come, they are busy and hurried and sometimes took things away before we'd even finished. It was actually quite annoying. And they didn't even ask about it at the end or say goodbye as we were leaving! I also think it's a bit overpriced for what it is. A meal for two set us back nearly a hundred pounds!

An incredible place. It took us about half an hour to find it. We must have walked past or over it 3 times before we got there and when we finally did it appeared to be in complete darkness. I wailed “It’s shut!” But my companion pushed the (grimy) door open into a shrine of welcoming warmth. It seems the sepulchral gloom was just part of the ambience. What a menu. What care and passion to each dish. You choose a bunch of items from a modest selection and they arrive one by one, perfectly timed. The cocktails are amazing. The waitress was enchanting. The bill was a pleasant surprise. Bring a torch.

Possibly the nicest staff I've ever known!

What is objectively apparent is that the chef here is highly skilled and innovative. An original concept restaurant ✨️ They take bookings on the hour only so as to synchronise the dinner service, a clever idea. Minimal staffing, only 3 to 4 people working during a typical dinner service. Expect an extended dining period, have patience and enjoy the pace of the evening with an extremely well accomplished array of small plates. 5 to 6 dishes are recommended for 2 people sharing. We had perhaps one of the best meals in many a long year. Outstanding dishes included; ♡ Black sesame encrusted Arancini with black rice. ♡ Herb dumplings. ♡ Seared Brussel sprouts All vegan. The dessert was also epic, I'd call it; "if clouds were made of chocolate". Service was friendly and with clear instructions with regards to how best to order. Already planning a return visit 😌

We had a wonderful, wonderful time here for a birthday meal on Friday night.. we all felt it was truly one of the meal we’ve ever had..from the service to the cocktails to the food. We ordered the whole menu, everything tasting so different was variety in textures.. incredible vegetarian food. We will definitely be back 💚

DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD AND IF YOU HAVE ONE DON’T TELL THEM YOU HAVE ONE WHEN BOOKING! We had a gift voucher as a present in Sept 2022. We tried to book many times but could not get a table. In that time my partner also got pregnant and was born in May 23. We were told by the restaurant that they do not allow babies. This led to the voucher expiring. We explained this to the staff at flow but they were not helpful or willing to extend despite our efforts at booking and the event of a baby making it near impossible to visit. Essentially Flow has been given £75 for nothing and in emails exchanges they either did not respond or added short responses. This is really poor customer service. I appreciate they are a small business but this left us really disappointed. I would not recommend to any friends and family going to Flow due to this experience and what ever you do, don’t buy a gift card. The main way to book is to via email and we explained we had a gift card for the outset and I wonder if once they discovered this they were not motivated to allow us to book

We had the best birthday meal here! It was such a treat to be able to order everything on the menu as a vegetarian. I’m not much of a ‘foodie’ but the flavour profiles were so well put together I found myself getting excited that I could pick up on the well thought out flavours and textures. The service was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was intimate and warm, it felt exclusive without any pretension. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending to everyone I know. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Absolutely incredible in every way! The service was amazing, everyone was so wonderful, really fun and knowledgable about the food and drink. The food was INSANE, so so delicious..we couldn’t believe it was just the chef Jen in the kitchen - so talented. Couldn’t recommend enough. Also the oil that comes with the bread needs to be bottled and sold at the restaurant, everyone on my table would have purchased sooo yummy.

We honestly could not have been happier with our evening. From the booking (warm, personal, thoughtful) to arrival (welcoming, enthusiastic, efficient) to the atmosphere, the music, to the meal…. (Delicious, interesting, creative) we could not fault a single minute! Right down to our wonderful waitress realising that one of our family is Spanish and chatting to him in his language! The perfect evening! Oh! And it’s an all female operation and it shows!! Could not recommend this place more highly!

I expected a lot from this place, but it was just a disappointing experience. After waiting 50 minutes for the food, the sizes were ridiculous small (two tablespoons) and it didn’t taste good. The gnocchi were not cooked properly, absolutely hard from the inside! The ravioli got served cold with a mushy filling, the polenta was okay but definitely not tradition to the Spanish standard. Definitely not coming back!

Absolutely incredible food experience at Flow. I was gifted a voucher for Christmas and had an anniversary meal here, it was very special. We're both vegan and there were lots of options for us. Every dish was delicious beyond belief and we were so excited by the presentation. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pictures don't do the beauty of the food justice but I highly recommend Flow for a special dining experience

Interesting and delicious seasonal vegetarian food. They made loads of adaptations to suit a vegan too at no extra cost. We'll definitely be back to try the next menu!

Impossible to book a table. They responds to emails a way too long, when called to book a table the answer was pretty unwelcoming. The customer service has to be improved as it definitely ruins a first impression of the place.

Wow. What a find! Superb food, lovely atmosphere and excellent service. I cannot fault this restaurant and will definitely be back. We had 5 small plates to share, as advised by our friendly and helpful server, plus a dessert to share. It was freshly cooked and brought to the table when ready, with just the right amount of delay between dishes. I honestly don't want to tell anyone else about it because it is too nice to share!

Food took a while to come out but not too long, and it tasted incredible - the dumplings were life changing and well worth the wait. The other food we had was just as good and the interior lighting and decoration was great, think the shopfront could use some work though. Service was also really good and the pacing between each of the small plates was perfect. Highly recommended especially if you are vegetarian but even if you are not.

Lovely staff and great food. The celeriac and the black rice arancini were definite highlights! Nice ambience too. One of the plates looked very different to what another table had received (as if it had been cut in half), and when we queried it initially were told it was the ‘same size, just chopped up a bit’. Felt a bit miffed but the mentioned it to the lovely server who brought our bill and they didn’t charge us for that dish. Otherwise, would’ve been 5 stars!

A fabulous gem hidden under the bear pit. We had a nice variety of dishes, each well priced and unique, and lovely drinks. The service was quick and very friendly. A special thank you because there was a dish we weren’t so fond of (nothing wrong with it if you like blue cheese, just wasn’t for us) and the chef offered to remake it to our liking which was incredibly generous. Thank you, we will be back!

In such an unsuspecting place but genuinely had the best meal ever at this restaurant. Staff were charismatic and attentive and the food was incredible for such a great price too. There was consistency In delivery and once more table arrived the atmosphere was perfect - couldn’t recommend this place enough

What an amazing dining experience (whether you are a veggie or not). This was without doubt one of the best meals we’ve ever had - the dishes were so inventive, beautifully presented, and a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. The service was excellent and so friendly. I have such admiration for what Jen and the team have created here. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Awesome dining experience - been to a similar venue in Bath many times before so wasn’t sure if Flow is going to meet my expectations but safe to say - it exceeded them! Every single thing from the menu was superb, finished with an exceptional dessert too. Can’t wait to be back! Was obviously too excited to take any pictures. Also, as I’m not a fan of alcohol I really appreciate the selection of soft drinks!

Great personable service! The waitress we had, Ruth, explained in great detail the menu, how everything worked and left us feeling super excited about the food to come. All of the staff were super attentive and myself and my partner can’t wait to come dine here again soon :)

Flow had unique dishes that were fresh and had interesting flavors/textures. Our favorites were the mushroom dumplings, baked beets, and the aubergine. The cocktails also had a unique take, particularly the beetroot collins. A more in depth overview of the dishes when serving would have made this a 5 star review. Otherwise, we enjoyed this dining experience!

Just found the BEST vegetarian restaurant ever and it was in Bristol. It was tricky to find and unpretentious but the food was divine and the atmosphere felt laid back. Did not miss the meat at all.

Cool vintage place with very tasty creative vegan food. Great to work for a while with the laptop while you drink a shake and let yourself be advised by the super friendly people in charge of the joint.

Had the best time at Flow last night! The food was amazing and the house red wine flowed .... 😁 We went with the recommended dishes and enjoyed them all. The staff were friendly and helpful, have to mention the lovely waitress Ruth who explained each dish to us. Brilliant restaurant, would definitely go back again.

Incredible!!! Some of the best vegetarian food I’ve had. Not only was the presentation and taste amazing, but the staff was genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve met who were truly passionate about the food and the ethos of the restaurant. Also the Italian orange wine was truly exceptional and the waitress took the time to explain to us about this new orange wine phenomena we’re about to experience here in the UK.

Modern and innovative without being pretentious or intimidating. Classic and sometimes unusual flavour combinations with absolutely bags of flavour. An absolute hidden gem that isn't talked about enough in Bristol. Go go go!

This was our first trip to Flow, and it won't be the last. The staff are really welcoming and the food is very special indeed. It was a great pleasure to dine here and especially so as an omnivore with a veggie wife. She was in heaven and I was too : ) I hope that more people experience this wonderful restaurant. It is tucked out of sight in the Bearpit - so you need to read about it or have a recommendation to know it's there unless you happen to be walking through. Anyway - it is well worth seeking out! Delicious!

Delicious and imaginative vegetarian dishes in a cosy non pretentious atmosphere- it was a great treat for a solo dinner. Really nice to see the kitchen and chef working and the waitress was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and come again when in Bristol!

Fantastic food, excellent service. Real passion for great vegetarian food shines through at Flow. The cocktails are also sublime (especially Rubard Collins). We were looked after by a super talented person working her first night here and the whole experience left us wanting to come back. Highly recommend to any veggie lover.

Great atmosphere. Wonderful service. The food is imaginative and unique which makes the experience worth it. The bread and wines are delish. Most of the dishes were really good. They change the menu enough that I would deffo deffo go back.

The food was generally pretty good and they've got a decent wine/drinks list. I'm not sure why it has to be so dark though! Probably would have given five stars if I had been able to see the wonderful chocolate dessert! It seems a little pointless putting effort into how individual dishes look when you can't see what you're eating...

I had the set menu with a group of friends. Excellent value for money. So many different dishes and flavours. Such a great evening with friendly staff.

The vegan food here was absolutely killer.

They have a tapas style menu, so you get to taste a variety of dishes - that are all beautiful. The Maris pipers were excellent, the croquettes were fluffy and gorgeous. You also have to have dessert! The staff were really upbeat, helpful. Especially the short haired blonde that gave my friend a little birthday hat to wear which was great fun.

Great food lovely people and I am not vegan

My partner and I visited flow for the first time last weekend and we had the best night. The food was incredible. The inspiration and execution of the menu was interesting and delicious the chef's are clearly extremely talented. The front of house team were also warm and welcoming, and coping fantastically well with a card machine problem. The prices were also extremely reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and cookery. In my opinion Flow is one of the best restaurants in Bristol. Loved it.

Es un placer encontrar un restaurante que tenga platos imaginativos, deliciosos y veganos. Teníamos uno de cada plato en el menú y todos fueron increíbles y muy diferentes. La mejor y más interesante comida vegana que he probado en Bristol. Sin duda volveremos a visitar de nuevo.

Estábamos ansiosos por visitar Flow, pero lamentablemente fue una decepción.

La ubicación parece bastante poco prometedora, en una especie de paso subterráneo de concreto debajo de la rotonda de Bear Pit, pero no se desanime, este lugar es INCREÍBLE. Esta es comida vegetariana en su máxima expresión (y no soy vegetariano). Todo se veía hermoso y sabía excelente. Teníamos 6 platos de degustación y cada uno estaba lleno de una variedad de sabores, colores y texturas. Los postres también eran súper. También hay una lista cuidadosamente pensada: vino y bebidas con un fuerte enfoque en productos de origen local.

Absolutely loved it. The food was incredible and increasing. The staff were incredibly helpful. It wasn't even particularly expensive once you factored in the cost of the bottle of wine we had. Fantastic experience and I hope to go back.

Amazing food, especially the deserts!!! The bread and paprika oil was fab too. We shared lots of small plates between the three of us. We all had different favourites but the highlights we’re the beetroot dish, the mushroom dumplings and the braised sprouts. Lastly the service was brilliant, very efficient and fast and incredibly sweet. Make sure you give Flow a go! ❤️

We had a delicious meal at Flow - excellent quality food, very creative and beautifully presented. The restaurant setting is lovely too- the atmosphere is so relaxing. Great for dates or catching up with friends. It’s really hard to find somewhere that is dog-friendly and that is a proper “foodie” place so that’s a massive added bonus! My only complaint is that the opening hours are very limited - it would be great if these could be expanded.

Interesting veggie menu and entirely run by women. Seemed progressive! Nice beer and soft drinks choices But, lots of deep fried food and long waits between dishes. Tapas style, but would've rathered the food arrived all at once instead of drips and drabs. Also, deep fried twiglets... I wasn't sold sorry!

Was such an amazing meal with my brother and my boyfriend. We all ate vegan choices and it was par with 'fine dining' for me, nothing disappointed, and at such brilliant value (not cheap but very reasonable). I haven't been so excited about a meal in a very long time and can't recommend it highly enough

Anoche salimos para una comida INCREÍBLE en Flow. La comida era absolutamente preciosa e impecable, lo que obtuvimos. La camarera se olvidó de poner la mitad de nuestro pedido (sucede) a través de la cocina. Cuando nos dimos cuenta de que el resto de la comida no venía, el gerente se acercó a nuestra mesa y dijo groseramente "tienes que decidir qué quieres, más platos principales o postre porque necesito que me devuelvan la mesa". Solo habíamos estado allí durante una hora. Se suponía que era una celebración encantadora del compromiso de nuestros amigos, pero se hizo sentir inoportuno. Una vez que el gerente se dio cuenta de que ya habíamos pedido los platos principales, ella regresó a la cocina para resolverlo, momento en el cual pensamos que era mejor irnos. Muy incómodo. Recibimos postres gratis como compensación por el error, pero su actitud nos hizo sentir bastante sorprendidos, ¡solo queríamos salir de allí! ¡La gente puede olvidar lo que dices pero recordará cómo los hiciste sentir! !

I've just been to Flow, walked in without a reservation and was lucky to get a table. The restaurant was really full, around 30 people, and there was just 1 lady taking all the orders & serving food and 1 lady making all the food. The waitress was very friendly and suggested 2 or 3 dishes would be the right amount for 1 person. I ordered the roasted beets, the heritage carrots and the woodland mushrooms. As it was very busy the food did take a while, but the waitress did come over with a complementary serving of pizza popcorn to apologise. When the food arrived it didn't disappoint. It was delicious and beautifully presented. My hat goes off to the chef. I visit Bristol monthly for work and I imagine this will become one of my regular eateries.
