The food is consistently good here. I can highly recommend the T-bone. The mac and cheese, cauliflower cheese and onion rings are my favourite sides. The staff are always friendly. It has a nice warm atmosphere with.

Booked ahead to celebrate two friends birthdays: - was seated 30 mins after booking time - had run out of most the steaks and lamb - cutlery was dirty - waitress almost missed someones order - most of us didnt get what we had planned to, and the food we resorted to was very average

We drive 40 miles round trip to enjoy the meal and it's absolutely worth it. Fab staff, you know you're being looked after without being smothered. Give it a go and you won't regret it but make sure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

We had a group of 16. Great experience and service was very good, we enjoyed most of the food, especially the sides, however as a large group perhaps the steaks were rushed or I thought perhaps they were cooked from frozen/ cold temperature because one or two were undercooked and otherwise they were cooked right but not to the standard you would hope for from a steakhouse with a reputation such as the Ashville. Perhaps as a smaller group / dinner service may provide steaks cooked to a better standard. Otherwise a nice location and great service, just a shame the steaks weren't up to the standard we might have expected

It's fine. Not the best steak you'll ever have. It would be good if they invested in some soft furnishings to held absorb some sound because the speakers are loud and things get quiet echo-y when busy. Not one for any sound sensitive diners

We booked this restaurant for my 82nd birthday! As it was Sunday, we opted for the Sunday roast. Phenomenal! So much food! The bar and waiting staff were jolly, friendly and super efficient! Every bit of our food was well cooked, tasty and plentiful! The prices were very reasonable. Thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. Thank you the Ashville - looking forward to the next time!

After hearing many great reviews booked the Ashville steakhouse for a meal with family to celebrate my hubby’s 60th birthday. We had to prebook our meals as there were 10 of us, waitress confirmed our order after everyone had arrived we had had a drink, everyone commented how amazing their meal was and got to come back again. The staff were all very friendly and service was great, nothing was too much trouble. A great place for steak would definitely recommend!

Me and my partner got recommended the ashville by a friend and we haven’t looked back. This is our favourite dinner place for steak, best service by the staff, friendly, welcoming, nothing is an issue. The owner is absolutely fantastic. He always picks beautiful white wine for us for our dinner. The food is absolutely outstanding, we have eaten few multiple times and the food is always so good and the espresso martini is to die for at the end of a good meal. Shout out to Bailey one of the waitresses, she is so friendly and lovely. We have been for a roast dinner here too, that is also 10/10. This is a hidden gem In Bristol, I always tell my friends about this place as it’s not just a steak house. It’s very relaxed vibes. You can dress up or casual which I absolutely love. We will be back again soon for sure x

Booked for a dinner with my friends in a weekday. The waitress at the bar she was very welcoming and accompanied us to our table. After taking a look on the menu, we started to order the food and the drinks. I ordered the beef tartar as a starter and a board to share with a friend, with Fillet, Rump, Ribeye, Sirloin, chips and three sauces. We asked to cook medium rare. The tartar was amazing, and all the cuts were delicious. Good bargain, if you want to compare with other expensive retaurants / steakhouses in Bristol. I want to go back soon to try a large steak or a tomahawk! Highly recommended!

Me and 2 other friends came here for a roast. It does get busy here and that's a great thing because it means people like it for a reason. All three of us ordered the mix roast with the beef, pork and lamb and its one of the best roast I've had in Bristol. We shared some cauliflower cheese and some pigs in a blanket which really complimented the roast and something we would suggest too. We also had a really fresh biscoff cheesecake for dessert so the texture and taste was phenomenal! Will be recommending this place to others!

Great atmosphere, obviously a very popular place, as was reasonably busy for a Wednesday night. Great service. The chef even managed to squeeze in a steak that we should have pre ordered really and the great selection of draft beers. The food itself was very well cooked and tasty

We had a fantastic time at the Ashville Steakhouse. The owner is the importer of some fantastic Eastern European wines, and gave us a few to taste before picking a bottle. We shared a beautifully cooked Tomahawk steak with some of the best triple cooked chips we have ever tasted. Definitely one of the top restaurants in the Southville area.

Went for my fiancés birthday meal, he was greeted with a Happy Birthday and surprised us with a dessert on the house. Even though it was just added onto the booking, the staff checked or remembered on arrival which was very thoughtful. We got chateaubriand with stilton sauces and sides cauliflower cheese and onion rings, pork ribs and mushrooms for starters and it was the best! Food was amazing, service and cocktails. Really enjoyed ourselves will definitely be returning. Thank you so much!

Seven of us went for a post Christmas Sunday lunch at The Ashville. Two of us had the roast and the rest had burgers - all the food was super tasty and delicious, and the service was excellent. We'll be going back soon.

Had waited a while to get the chance to visit and we were not disappointed. Great steaks, sides were faultless, service great and all reasonably priced. Everyone loved it. Forget struggling to book at Pasture and head here instead. Thank you all for a great meal!

Went last night for a New Year’s Eve meal. Food was absolutely amazing! Up there as one of the best steaks I’ve had! My partner had a smash burger and couldn’t get over how good it tasted! Service was lovely and staff were friendly! Was such a reasonable price for what we had too! We can’t wait to go back again!

I appreciate ‘ steak house’ restaurant’ , however a choice of one of 2 vegetarian main [under- seasoned) was served as a small portion in comparison to friends Staff lovely , and restaurant clean. I rate this restaurant 💯. It never fails. We took our friends for the Sunday lunch ( they are Sunday lunch fans), so we knew they would love the Ashville. We were right. The food is outstanding. Sirloin beef and the pork were just yummy. The veg is fresh and the gravy hot. Oh, and the pigs in blankets are to die for. We found room for desert, my favourite being the biscoff cheesecake. Sandor and his staff are just brilliant. Also ask advice on his wine because he has some beautiful wines.

This is a little hidden gem ,but I think it's one of the best steakhouse in Bristol . My fillet steak was cooked perfect and just melted in my mouth . If I could be really picky and had to pick falt It would of been nice to have a mushroom or tomoto with the steak like they used to do . Fantastic though really enjoyed it.

Stayed in the accommodation. Easy check in and shown to room which was small but comfortable. Nice full English breakfast and free parking outside with a permit.

Outstanding and exceptional customer service! Cannot thank the staff enough for accommodating our endless pre-orders for a table of 20! On arrival we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, offering their recommendations for drinks and sauces to go with the steaks. Food arrived promptly for a table of what was 20 but ended up being 15, all dishes were hot and plentiful, flavours were amazing and every dish was cooked to perfection. Staff were accommodating and very attentive. We bought our own birthday cake which was presented at just the right time. I had the rack of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal veg. The lamb was quite dry and tough, the dauphinoise potatoes were overcooked, very dry, hard and so crispy, it was really hard to cut through. The seasonal veg was a couple of pieces of soggy cauliflower and 2 small stalks of asparagus. Unfortunately on this occasion, we were very disappointed. My son had a kids steak which was lovely however, it was covered in way too much black pepper which took away the taste of the steak and made it unenjoyable. Such a shame as we probably won't return again.

5 years ago, just before Covid-19, I celebrated my 50th birthday here. Then, I said it was the best steakhouse I had ever been to. I'm pleased to say that nothing has changed. It is still the best steakhouse I have ever been to. 10/10.

I had high expectations for my visit to this restaurant, as I had heard comparisons to Pasture. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations. The service was quite disappointing; despite having a reservation for 8 PM on a Friday, our group did not receive our meals until nearly 10 PM. Furthermore, we were instructed by staff to keep the noise level down during what is typically a lively evening. The food was served at different times for each member of our group, and the plates contained minimal portions aside from the steak. Additionally, a side dish I ordered did not arrive at all. It felt as though the restaurant struggled to accommodate large parties effectively. While I understand that we may have visited on an off night, I believe improvements are necessary for handling busy periods. In comparison to Pasture, this establishment fell significantly short of expectations. Based on this experience, I would be hesitant to return in the future.

Visited for a family meal, have eaten here many times in the past. Thought the prices for steak had risen very highly since our last visit and surprised that chips were extra to accompany your meal. Those who ordered steaks said they tasted good although not cooked as requested. Salmon and ribs competitively priced but not tasty. Cheapest wine per bottle, £30 with wine list not including origin. Unfortunately will not be going back in the near future.

Early lunch so it was quiet,hence the low atmosphere. Food was excellent, beer selection very good. Toilets were spotless.

Visited on the 19/10/24. 2 guests had steak they reported was amazing but very disappointed that they had to purchase a portion of chips separately not a tomato or mushroom accompanied the steak this is very poor for a steak that cost £42 each. Other 2 guests had ribs that were suppose to have a barbecue sauce this was congealed and did not look appealing, very strange taste to the sauce and once agin nothing provide with the ribs except a dollop of coleslaw. Ordered sides Mac & cheese do not believe the dish of Mac and cheese is as big or in the advertised dish shown on the website, It was very very small dried up with all the pasta stuck to the bottom and sides Of the dish costing £6., also ordered onion rings four people dinning and served 3 onions rings. Very over priced restaurant and not value for money. Wine really over priced left feeling we had been robbed.

The food was great, being a bit pricey you’d expect good quality food and they delivered. The staff was friendly and was very helpful with every request. The warm lighting set a calming and comfortable environment. In conclusion, had a great experience there :)

Very delicious and well cooked steak at fair prices. The sauces were super tasty. Salad (as part of the wardyboard was tiny although maybe most people don't eat it? I would come again. My first impression and biggest piece of advice to the Ashville is to change your lighting- the place is overlit which means it doesn't have the intimate, relaxing, luxurious ambience that it could. Get some table lighting & side lighting and don't use the overhead lights.

Very overpriced food for a very undercooked food. be prepared to dig deep into your pockets. You pay £27 for the steak and that’s just for the steak chips and everything else that comes as separate And I mean, you have to pay extra for chips, you can only get the wine and a medium glass and that will set you back £9 for something out of a £4 bottle from Aldi just up the road,, staff friendly enough, but I won’t go there again

Never knew this place existed, despite coming from Bristol! We were looking for somewhere to eat before going to the Tobacco Factory and this is right round the corner, so gave it a go. It’s not often we have steak. Well we’ll be back, that’s for sure! We both had sirloin steaks with different sauces/sides and they were cooked to perfection. We were lucky getting a table, as it’s definitely popular and we’d book next time. The staff are delightful and very attentive. A lovely surprise! Highly recommended.

We received outstanding food and service tonight. Upon paying the manager asked how was our food and if we were here for a special occasion after paying i said it was my partner birthday. Without giving it a second thought he immediately sent us over a pudding with a candle making the night even more special for my boyfriends birthday. Thank you all so much!

Had a gorgeous lunch today at the steakhouse. All the food and drinks were absolutely delicious, the service impeccable and the chef himself came out to ask if we liked the food. I also like the interior - a simple, slightly rustic style, with lots of natural light. It isn't cheap but worth it.

It's a busy steak restaurant - it's main focus are the streaks. The steaks were ok, but I didn't like the ribs which were way too dry. Maybe it's me but the restaurant was way too loud for me, the guests voices were loud and bouncing off the bar walls. Think I prefer somewhere quieter so i can hear my companions.

Wow, we came out this evening to celebrate our sons GCSE results and we were glad we chose here. We had a steak, fish of the day, Mac N Cheese and a burger. We all thought the food was amazing and nothing was left, even the side trays were empty. The service was really good. We'll definitely be back in the future!

This is a steakhouse that stands out and I would throughly recommend the steaks were cooked to perfection We went for Sunday Lunch after previously coming across Ashville dropping in for a drink and having the salad with chicken and blue cheese sauce which was full of flavour and the sauce was warm with blue cheese crumbled in After this experience we booked for Sunday lunch and again was not disappointed the Sunday lunch 3 meats was good size portion with a large Yorkshire pudding Other members had the Wardy Board which is 4 steaks fillet, rump, ribeye and sirloin all the steaks were cooked to perfection The food is reasonably priced and good value The restaurant has a charming relax atmosphere and the service was just right with all the members of staff having a smile on there faces When I write this review all I can think about is when I next return

Just a quick note to say thank you to all the staff on duty last night. Myself and friend popped in en route for a pint heading onto Temple meads station. But despite having a quick pint we both thought all staff were friendly and courteous and wanted to say great to see.

Just a perfect classic steakhouse. Great food, sweet atmosphere, and great service. My partner and I share the 52oz steak and some sides. Big, thick, and beautifully cooked steaks. We've forgotten to "reserve" the steaks ahead of time and they are super nice and accomodating. 10/10 (and I am American - we don't do much right but we know our steaks!)

My self and my wife visited today 28-7-2024 for her birthday. I had the burger and my wife had the 3 meat roast. I must say the food was incredible very tasty and flavourful. This place is our go to for our anniversary. We go every July (as well as other times for special occasions) and the food and customer experience is simply the best in Bristol. The 10oz fillet is always my go to (so good that the wife and I don’t talk to each other for good 5 mins) and the owner and his staff are just amazing. Thank you as always for everything you do. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Came here with friends and once again it didn't disappoint. To start with we had 3 French Onion soups ( the best I've ever had) and the Brie wedges which was huge and delicious. We all had The Wardy Board. A must. 4 cuts of steak. Rump,sirloin,ribeye,and filet. 5oz's each with 3 sauces of your choice. THE BEST. We managed to squeeze in a desert which was home made Biscoff cheesecake. Hospitality was 100%. We will be returning

Father's day treat! Never been here before and it's not local for us but had heard great things so thought we would give it a go. I will keep it brief! Brilliant service, roast was amazing and would 100% go again. Probably the best Sunday roast around and the burger the kids had was up there as well. We were gutted that they only take cash for tips and we had none. Oh well, we will have to go back and give them double!

The 4 of us ordered various meals and drinks. All were well presented by great staff and the food was very tasty. My fillet steak with mushroom sauce was delicious. A vibrant place outside the Emission Zone with a good buzz about it and every table filled. A most enjoyable evening.

First time going here as a party of 2 we’d ordered steaks. The sides were amazing! The cheesy mash was soo nice, really cheesy (perfect amount) and lovely flavours. The cauliflower cheese was also 10/10 and of course the steak was 10/10. Only down fall I’d say was the mushroom sauce was blended instead of chunky (maybe personal preference.) the last few times visiting have been on Sunday for their roasts. The first two Sundays we ordered cheesy mash as a side, hoping it would taste like the first time although the cheese was lacking which is so disappointing! Never the less, the cauliflower has neverrrr let us down. If I was being really picky when it comes to the roast I could say the potatoes could be a bit fluffier but overall would have to give Ashville a 9/10 for their Sunday roasts! Fair prices for all you get and the staff are always polite and accommodating:)

We decided to try the Ashville for our anniversary, on arrival we ordered drinks and was asked to wait at the bar while they got the table ready, not a problem atall and I enjoyed a lovely cocktail named after the venue, my husband had a thatchers gold. We were shown to our table, and handed menus by a nice waitress, we both ordered a starter I had soup of the day which was French onion soup and my husband had the camabert, my soup was OK bit watery and very beefy for a onion soup and my husband said his was a bowl of melted cheese and didn't have much flavour. For mains I had pre ordered my husband a 32oz tomahawk steak which he throughally enjoyed but the rest of the food was mediocre at best I had a fillet steak that I asked to be cooked well done, which it was on the outside but the inside was bright pink and I couldn't eat it, the chips tasted like they had been fished out the bottom of the basket, the onion rings had absolutely no flavour was like eating cooked batter, my husband had mac and cheese as a side, took one bite and nearly spat it out he said it was very dry like it had been sitting under a heat lamp and was definitely not fresh. The pigs in blankets were very nice. I tried another cocktail on the menu, an expresso martini (now I have had these before) and this was not very nice either tasted very bitter. My husband decided we should have desert so he had a chocolate brownie which was more cake like than a brownie and I tried a coffee desert, was again a let down, we ended up going to the local sainsburys to pick up ice cream. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly but the food let it down now we don't know if we came on a day where they were just having a off day because the reviews we read and the recommendations from friends we were expecting a lot more and with a nearly £200 bill plus tip we just expected more and sadly we won't be returning.

First time visiting and absolutely loved the food. I was especially pleased with the mixed vegetables. Sweet potato chips were very good too. I had the 10oz ribeye which does not warrant any complaints either. Will love to visit again. Can get a little noisy inside but doesn't overly detract from the experience. We went to The Ashville for a birthday celebration. Sandor and his team NEVER fail. We had French onion soup to start, which were yummy and Brie wedges, which were so scummy and goey. My partner and I had the Wardy Board 4 cuts of steak, ribeye,filet,rump, and sirloin served with 3 sauces of our choice with fries. Deeeelicious. There were also baby rack ribs, which were so soft and meaty. The food is always exquisite. Unfortunately, there was no room for deserts however I can recommend the homemade biscoff cheesecake

We came to dinner this evening and have to say that the experience from start to finish was 5 star. Upon entry we were greeted by a friendly staff member who showed us to our table. Once seated we were promptly asked what drinks we would like, followed by our food order at an appropriate time. We ordered the Wadry Board which consisted of; Fillet, Rib eye, Sirloin and rump steak, chips and opted for a side of onion rings. The steak was divine and cooked just perfectly. The chips were also the best I’ve had with a steak in a long time. Service was excellent as well as the chef. We weren’t rushed at all and our food was very prompt; not forgetting that the food was excellent value for money. We’ve paid a lot more for steak that’s didn’t have a touch on this. Visited yesterday for my husbands bday after a few years absence. We used to live a few streets away and go regularly, but was worried it wouldn’t live up to our memories but it absolutely did. It’s bright and fresh inside, service is great, and most importantly food is blooming fab. Back in the day the burgers were always a highlight, the flavour lives firmly in my mind 🤤 Pleased to report nothing has changed on that front! The 3 meat combo of brisket, rump and rib eye in the patty definitely makes for one of Bristol’s best burgers 💪 Then it would have been criminal not to have steak. 10oz I believe is bigger than the standard serving for a fillet at many other venues, so good value, and yes it’s the most overused phrase ever but it was cooked to perfection. The chips are exceptional - impress even my seriously fussy husband who moans that most places don’t cut their own potatoes. Onion rings the size of your hand. Mac n cheese to die for. I could go on. We will not be leaving it that long until our next visit 🤤
