Vegetable Kottu Roti was fab, but very filling. All main meals are available in different Spice levels.

Wow my favourite Sri Lankan place in the whole of Bristol ! I’ve tried 3 gems that serve authentic food and this is the best hands down ! The flavours are so intense .. I went for the devilled mutton which came in a dark blood red oily juice and the meat just melted away bursting with flavour ! The rice was fluffy and fresh not stuck together or nasty Chickpea fritters were gorgeous and made a good choice as I’ve never tried them before .. honestly I can’t recommend this place enough Don’t miss out Friendly service too Thanks Kotthu hut

Our students are attending an expedition to Sri Lanka next year so we organised a group meal to introduce them to some of the cuisine they may experience whilst on the trip and Kottu Hut provided us with a fantastic buffet of so many delicious dishes to try. The staff were so accommodating to us all and it was lovely to be able to give our students an experience like this whilst supporting a local family business. I'll definitely be popping back to sample more.

The owners and waiters went out of their way to help. They were super friendly. The food was so yummy! We got various kotus and a hopper to share as that is what they are known for. I got the roast chicken kotu. Really tasty food. Highly recommend!

Kottu Hut provided the evening meal for our wedding. They were absolutely wonderful. Communication was brilliant. They came early and set up their stall/marquee. The food was laid out lovely. Everyone really enjoyed it and kept lining up for more. My partner who is Sri Lankan said he and his family found their food to be authentic and delicious.

Really amazing food, lovely restaurant and lovely staff. Good value. Would say the service was v slow though. Took a while for drinks to come and we had to ask them for the bill before the tables were cleared.

My favourite restaurant in Bristol! The Kottu Roti is genuinely the best food I have ever had. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and the restaurant itself is beautiful and romantic. I could not ask for anything more!

The food was amazing, slightly tucked away gem that has such a friendly atmosphere with amazing authentic drinks :) The owner was lovely and made sure we were comfortable and full!

My girlfriend and I came to Kottu Hut for our Valentine’s Day evening meal. After reading some good reviews we were excited to visit. The restaurant was fairly quiet when we walked in but it soon picked up after a while. It took 30 minutes for someone to take our order and then another hour for 2 small plates to arrive. We expected the remainder of our food to arrive pretty soon after that but we ended up having to wait for another hour and 10 minutes to receive one rice dish and two curries. In total this meant that from sitting down to receiving our mains we waited 2 hours and 40 minutes. When the main food did arrive it was luke warm. The portion size of the lamb curry didn’t reflect the price paid or the wait for it to be ready. Despite having to wait 2 hours and 40 minutes for food, we were also not asked if we wanted to order any further drinks beyond our initial order. As mentioned before, we were excited to try this restaurant so it is unfortunate that we didn’t get the experience we were hoping for.

My meal (the kottu roti) was phenomal, genuinley one of the nicest meals I've had in a while. However they forgot to deliver my brother's chicken curry so -1 star for that. Overall I'd still really reccomend going.

I recently visited Kottu Hut having never tried authentic Sri Lankan food before. I was hugely impressed with the quality and variety of dishes they offered at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent, as a family run business it added a personal touch that made the experience even more special.

One of the best meals I've ever had. I had the seafood noodles. Exceptional. Full 10/10. If I could leave 6 stars I would.

We had a dismal experience last Friday & tried contacting the owner/manager to discuss rather than posting a poor review, but they have not responded. The restaurant was clearly understaffed that evening with 2 inexperienced young waitresses holding the fort. We waited an hour before asking when our starters (plain hoppers) would arrive; when they did they came without sambal and we were told they'd run out. Another 20mins min. before 2 cold plates were bought out for our main dish; we asked for them to be heated up and waited another 15min before our meal appeared. The food (vegetarian for me) was OK but nothing more, a disappointment after the rave reviews. To top it all we were seated at the rear with a noisy large group opposite making conversation impossible. We couldn't wait to go home & paid as soon as we could catch a waitress for the bill, which seemed high but we didn't check to avoid further delay. It wasn't till the next day we saw that we seem to have been overcharged by £11. As stated earlier, we would have preferred to talk all this through with whoever's in charge. My suggestion if you do decide to go yourself is to arrive early and be sure to sit at the front of the restaurant & be mentally prepared for a very long wait.

Poor service and hit and miss food. The size of the dishes was also laughable for the price. Prawns were overcooked and in a watery sauce. Some food was a bit burnt. Two dishes we had were ok. But for the price the food was particularly un-special. Waitress was disinterested in servicing us as well, we were there for nearly 3 hours and it took nearly half an hour to get a drink after we arrived.

The food was delicious, the aubergine celebration dish was outstanding and the Kottu was great to. Seating inside and outside and the staff were really nice. Drinks menu had an ok selection but beers were mostly a large size and spirits were standard.

Really tasty and different to what we've eaten before! As a pair sharing, I would recommend getting a kottu roti and a curry alongside it to share (we had the pineapple curry, really zingy and sweet which was a perfect pair with the kottu!)
