First time I visited it was amazing, truly delicious dishes and good prices. Second time, a few months ago it was a complete disaster. First plate was the bone marrow, full of fat and 3 pieces of meat. Needless to say that I had to re order a second dish as I was still hungry. The second one was the black pork curry. The sause was spicy for my palate (I know this is personal preference) but every single piece of meat was full of fat. This meat was the lowest quality and should not be served to customers in an expensive restaurant as prices were higher than the first time. Would I go again or recommend it ? No, evidently there is no consistency to cooking or cooking providers.

Ordered the black pork curry from here and it was possibly the nicest curry I have ever eaten. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy rich foods.

We were visiting Bristol and arrived late but wanted to eat out, we walked the street staring into various different options and seeing what took our fancy, we tried a few other places first but the universe decided we should be pushed to go to Nadu and we are so glad it did. Every single mouthful of everything we ordered was wonderful. The Black Pork Sri Lankan curry had super soft meat, the coconut shrimp sauce was impeccable. The tear and share dosa and various dips were just perfect! Masala potatoes so creamy yet so deep in flavour. Even tried the Arrackuiri's and they were great too. 10/10 we didn't and haven't stopped gushing since visiting. If you think it is on the pricier side, then I can at least say the quality matches the price entirely.

We showed up with no booking on a Tuesday evening at 730pm and managed to get a space to sit and eat at the bar. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly. It was busy and alive for a weekday night. The food was absolutely delicious, a 10/10. Great vegatarian options. We also had the sharing dosa which was hilariously large. Can 100% recommend this place.

Incredible food, drinks and service!

Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Highlights were the lamb rolls, Chettinad and dosa. We absolutely loved the food and the service was incredible. The lady that served us went above and beyond for us!

Lea was the best waitress! Just went in for a couple of cocktails and had such a lovely experience. Drinks were great and the hospitality was better 😊

Outstanding masala dosas, nice and crispy with a good variety of flavourful sauces. Comfortable dining are working with a grand view of Banksy's Mild Wild West mural. Also a wide selection of creative cocktails.

food came out quickly on a busy friday eve. had about 6?? dishes in total. couple sides, couple curries and the large dosa. between 4 of us and that was definitely enough. cashew curry slaps. way better than the coconut tree

Loved it. So so tasty with lovely service and great fun atmosphere even at 6:30. Huge Dosa, flaming cocktail and delicious fish curry. Our little dog was very welcome although he could have had a swim in the water bowl😂.

Awesome food. I’ve eaten in a few Sri Lankan places in Bristol now and this one is probably the best in terms of authenticity and quality. Got a decent menu with a variety of dishes. Little bit on the pricey side but you are getting decent food.

Very good food! My partner and I went for an early dinner on Friday and we’re not disappointed at how fast our food came. Highly recommend the prawn curry and the black pork curry, so flavourful and lightly spiced. Great space for food with groups since the dishes are small to share

Lively restaurant a short distance from the art gallery we attended, although it was busy we were quickly seated and ordered the food, friendly attentive staff, good menu and lively atmosphere plus excellent food.

Overpriced - for us - lots of trendy talk - would be nice to just have good honest simple value food and genuine service. The 'over nice' gushing service came across as insincere, not for me again.

It's nice dark and cozy inside, lots of big tables and a few very privately hidden small ones. The food is great, but I'd appreciate some pictures on the menu. Lots of flavours and spices, yum! Huge dosas, crispy amd very shareable. The drinks menu is quite limited, cocktails are pricy and the choice isn't great. However, all drinks we ordered were very tasty and refreshing. No iced coffees - not that I expected them, just a side note. Portions vary in sizes, some things from the same part of the menu were surprisingly big and others - you guessed it - small. I'll come back to try more things for sure!

Absolutely delicious. 10/10. We throughly enjoyed our dinner at Nadu. Having never tried Sri Lankan dishes before, we were grateful for the guidance of the waiting staff. It was bustling for a Wednesday night which is always a good sign! We were visiting Bristol for 1 night and it was definitely the right choice to go to Nadu. As a vegetarian, there was a great selection too.

Are you craving authentic South Indian and Sri Lankan food? Then, you need to get yourself a table at Nadu in Bristol. It's a simple menu with a lot of great options. Enjoyed the biggest, tastiest, and most delicious dosa I have ever eaten in the UK along with some yummy chutneys. The Lamb Rolls and the Brinjal side dish simply toooo tasty!! They have so nice mocktails too. The service was friendly.

Had an absolutely amazing meal at Nadu - an absolute taste explosion. Both the meat and vegetarian dishes were amazing. I particularly enjoyed the pork curry and the dosas. Only negative was rather slow service, but otherwise first class.

Delicious food, would definitely go back again when visiting Bristol. The tear and share dosa was crispy and authentic with tasty chutneys. Parotta was nice and flaky along with spicy chicken curry. The server was a bit rude but other than that, had a wonderful evening.

1st time visiting this restaurant I was seated quickly and the staff are friendly and efficient I had the lamb rolls to start. These were flavoured really well and came with some nice hot sauce The black pork curry was nice and the meat fell off the fat. Nice flavours again. Only issue I had, I asked if my starter could come out 1st, which I was told would be ok. This didn’t happen which meant I had to eat everything straight away. I won’t lose any sleep over this. The food came out 5 mins after ordering.

Introduced to this delightful restaurant on Sunday when visiting our daughter in Bristol. Cracking service and refreshing atmosphere - certainly check it again when next in the City.

Food was phenomenal and service was great. Shantha was a super friendly girl and helpful with the recommendations and we loved everything. Highly recommend this place as the food is authentic!! We will definitely visit again.

Our daughter (who lives in Bristol) wanted to visit here for her birthday, as she wanted to try the large dosa. The service was good and the ( delicious) food arrived quickly. My only complaint was the tin/metal plates we were given to use made the food go cold quickly, a bit of a bug bear for my husband and I. The large dosa did not disappoint and the condiments to go with were again very tasty. In hind sight we should have ordered more dishes for our group of six as we were hungry by the time we arrived back home a couple of hours later. My eldest described it as a picky bits tea!

I thought the food was pretty average in flavour. Having to pay extra for rice was rather disappointing, especially when the food is highly priced for what you get. This was lunchtime, and the menu felt quite limited also.

Aside from the Loud South Asian music, everything was really good. I ordered this buttery thin Nan that was spectacular with ribs and coconut rice, which was delicious and a special non alchoholic drink that gives you a buzz light feeling, all while very affordable.

This is the second time we have been to this great South Indian/sri Lankan restaurant. It has a great vibe and great cocktails. The food is authentic and really well priced. We always go when to visit Bristol and has become a bit of a tradition!

Pretty rubbish food really! I've been a here twice and decided the food is pretty naff. Krishnas Inn in Clifton does a way better Dosa and authentic Indian cuisine!

We were there last night with my friends who are visiting, food was great, the atmosphere was brilliant, the cocktails were amazing!!! Surprisingly the prices were decent! We’ll definitely be back!!! Loved everything about Nado!!!

Oh my goodness this restaurant is wonderful. My husband and son and I had just finished a harbour walking tour by Amanda Armstrong on voicemap and we came here afterwards as we were starving. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. It was packed so had a great atmosphere too. Definitely recommend.

A first visit to Nadu. A really nice place to eat and service to match. Worth a visit if you like spicy or slightly spicy. Food was fresh and tasted really good.

We didn't have a booking so arrived as a walk in. Although the restaurant looks great the atmosphere created by the staff is terrible. There was a member of staff stood by the bar who looked like he should be doing something and was directly in our line of vision as we walked in. Instead of using words he just pointed at staff by welcome desk. There was no smile, definitely no warmth or welcome from any of the staff. We asked for a table for 2 the guy looking at the available tables was miserable. They took us to the worse tiniest table, in the back portion of the room down the centre aisle.... It would have been like sitting on a tiny island. As there were other empty tables for 2, we asked if we could sit at one of them. Nope was the response, so we left, and the guy had the cheek to look surprised. Mate your not the only restaurant in Bristol, your miserable welcome told me all 8 needed to know about this restaurant in less than 5 mins.

Came here on a whim and so glad I did! Amazing, tasty food and a great setting. I had the dosa, crispy potatoes, and the fried chickpeas, the latter of which was my favourite. It was all so delicious. The restaurant was decorated vibrantly and the staff friendly. Lots of vegan and gluten free options.

Really nice food and lovely staff. We went for a birthday dinner together with our little ones. Although there are not too many options for kids they are very accommodating. We all enjoyed dinner and our children loved one of the waitresses. Sadly we don't remember her name. Thank you for having us.

We loved our visit. It was our first time after being recommended by a friend. Service was great and super friendly. Food was out of this world! The chickpea fried kale and onions was a game changer! My sons 21st birthday! This a fantastic venue for a great supper interesting flavours, great service and a lovely vibe. However, myself and my family (6 of us) ordered starters, mains and lots of drinks! We spent alot of money and were promised a 2 hour slot! I booked this table 1 month ago! They rushed us out, meaning we had to leave our table with our drinks after 1.hr.30! My family were ushered to the small bar area and not welcomed to say and finish our drinks.

What a wonderful restaurant. Everything I ate was superb and the staff were so friendly. I will definitely be comming back. Possibly my new favourite place to eat.

Buzzy vibe from the outside, funky vibrant decor. People were getting turned away so I was glad to have booked; definitely recommend booking well in advance. Service was quick and not pushy. Had a ginger and some-other-fruit dacquiri which was delightful and came with a giant lump of crystallized ginger garnish - tasty. We shared the giant dosa between 3 and it was plenty. The much-lauded black pork curry was unctuous in the richness of the sauce and the tenderness of the meat. Rice accompaniment. Excellent food, served quickly in a lively and popular place, would go back.

Really enjoyed our Sri Lankan curries at Nadu. Excellent cocktails. Very friendly staff. The area can get a bit rowdy depending on when you go, but the restaurant itself is very comfortable.

Great Sri Lankan food - our lunch was fresh and tasty. The dosa is huge but delicious. My favourite was the devilled prawns, but everything we had was good. Friendly staff and great location in Stokes Croft (good for street art). I would definitely return.

Some of the tastiest food I've had in a long time!! Even just the coconut rice was so delicious I could have eaten a whole bowl of it. Our server was also super nice and remembered the whole order off the top of her head, which was impressive. Great overall.

Had 14 people on a large table for dinner, the restaurant was MASSIVELY accommodating of the large numbers, letting me book and add two more, the deposit for the table was clear and I was happy with the booking. The food was fantastic - strongly recommend the sharing bread and I shared starters, two curries and sharing bread and string noodles with a friend. Drinks were great too. The person next to me ordered rice when everyone else had finished eating to mop everything up with and that was no problem. It felt like good value and everything was tasty. We felt really really well looked after and as a large group didn't feel at all too loud or in the way. Atmosphere was great on a Tuesday night too. Thanks so much!

First place I have been with delicious and reasonably priced non-alcoholic mocktails too. Didn't feel like an add on but as carefully curated and mixed as any alcoholic option! Food is phenomenal. Truly. Black pork curry 👌 Garam Pagadoda small plate was incredible perfect balance of sweet, salty, crunchy, and savory. We loved all of our dishes so much we're planning when to come back.

Absolutely brilliant! We got carried away because the menu was so enticing but feel we tried a good range of dishes. Everything tasted wonderful and I wish I had room for more! All the dishes seemed so fresh and had a great range of flavour. Few but well crafted cocktails which compliment the food. Staff are super friendly too, thank you.

I travelled up from Lime Regis to try out this restaurant after hearing good things from my foodie pal Tom. We were greeted by fantastic hard working passionate staff, who served us food and drinks. The lime in my cocktail was a bit mouldy, so we moved onto some G + T’s, slightly too much tonic for my liking. I asked to speak to upper management but was met with a bad vibe. Not sure they’re very trust worthy. Good food, my compliments to the chef.

Except for a cold masala dosa, all the food was delicious. However, the atmosphere was awful and I won't be returning which is such a shame because the food is very good. The music is too loud, tables are too close together and there is a general sense of chaos and stress all around. We were sat at a high table with high stool, which might be fine for drinks but isn't comfortable for a longer meal with food. We were in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by people bustling past all around us. The music was so loud that people on other tables were shouting to be heard. I couldn't hear my friends across the table from me so we ate in silence. The restaurant is also very dark unless you're sitting directly under one of their dim lights. The waiter was not good at checking our table and my sister had to go to the bar to refill our jug of water. The mains arrived before we had finished the dosa starter. The whole event felt rushed, frantic and stressful. I recommend anyone going to this restaurant requests a booth as I think this would be a bit better, but don't go here if you want a relaxed evening to chat with your friends over food. It feels more like a place people go for drinks before heading into town.

A friend recommended this restaurant to us, so we came here for a late lunch. The black pork belly curry was tender and delicious. The tear & share dosa was huge, enough for four people! I highly recommend both dishes. The staff was friendly.

Such an amazing find! My first experience with Sri Lankan food and I’m defiantly a fan. The food was incredible, staff was very attentive, cocktails went down very easily. Such a good little spot, would recommend!

I was very excited to try this restaurant and thought it would cheer up a very miserable and cold January evening. We arrived and the vibe felt casual and comfortable but the place was cold - as if the heating hadn’t been put on. The server came; she was professional and polite. We ordered some small plates and some curries and relaxed. Food came out pretty quickly and everything came together except the rice (?!). Furthermore, everything was uniformly either cold or lukewarm. This was not a busy evening so there was no reason for such a lack of care. What a disappointment. When someone came around I asked if the cold dishes could be heated up but one of these was an aubergine dish which really needed to be plated fresh. We also had to remind a server that we had also ordered rice. Mocktails were incredibly sweet - like drinking a sugary orange squash. Anyway this was a pity as some the dishes were tasty (the parottas were excellent) but we wouldn’t return here based on how this food was served up. Cold restaurant and cold food…

Visiting just after it opened and again yesterday, really good food. We had the fish curry and the black pork curry and shared a huge dosa with the table. Staff were all really nice and they've got a good selection of drinks. Yes to guava juice.
