Can't believe I've only just tried here, the owner said he's been operating here for 29 years! Great tasting food and has a loyalty card service which is always nice. Tender meat, fluffy rice and fresh naan at a reasonable price. I paid £25 for two curry's, two rice, a naan, 2 poppadum, chai tea and a bottle of water. Now think what you would pay in urban tandor, nutmeg or 4500 miles from deli!

This is my favourite spot for a quick & tasty lunch in the market! The staff are always so friendly (love chatting about their recipes & their story!) & you get a really decent portion for your money. If you're a spice-lover, I can't recommend their Atomic Bhaji enough, and they have a fantastic selection of vegan/veggie options! :)

Very helpful service, explaining the dishes and what complemented what. Hot means hot, beware the chilli peppers 🌶 unless you like your heat! Tasty meal, comes with poppadoms, we didn't really need the naan bread we ordered.

I’ve been dining here for years now and have never been disappointed with the tasty food, fast service and reasonable pricing. Get there for 12ish if you require indoor seating. Quick note for coriander haters - make sure you request yours without if you’re that way inclined as it tends to get out on by default :)

Having visited this small family-run establishment for what must have been over 15 years, it only just occurred to me to to post a review. On your visit you'll likely meet the husband and wife owners. There's a wide range of freshly cooked dishes and side dishes which are on display and you can take-away or sit-down (including some outside tables). I love their spicy curries which whilst hot have a great flavour. There are a number of food stalls at St Nick's but Spice Up Your Life is definitely my favourite.

@racheljohnson I’ve been coming to Spice up your life for many years now, and these curries are always absolutely incredible. I’m very shocked you are comparing them to microwaveable weatherspoons curry. These prices are very normal for around Bristol and with the amount of food you are getting I think it is a fantastic price. I can’t recommend this place enough.

@racheljohnson I disagree I got a korma the same day and it was exquisite, I think you should get checked for corona if you couldn’t taste it as it was extremely tasty. Comparing it to weatherspoons FROZEN curries is ridiculous as at spice up everything is cooked with fresh ingredients and all have very unique tastes which you will not get anywhere else.

Very average Indian I’m afraid. Just got chicken bhuna, chicken korma and also naan. Quite disappointed to be honest. The price is a bit steep and the flavour just isn’t there. The korma was watery and had no taste at all. The chicken wasn’t that good either. Almost as though it was made by an amateur at home. I’m not sure if it was because it was right before they close or what. I wish we had saved our money and eaten the curry at Wetherspoons which is more tasty and a lot cheaper!

The home of the best Indian food in Bristol! Don't let the tiny kitchen fool you - somehow Suki cooks hundreds of delicious meals every week. Our favourites are the Chicken Bhuna, Methi Chicken, and the tandoori chicken wraps, but we've never had anything that wasn't brilliant. The vegan curries and the pakoras and naan are great, too. Highly recommended!

I ate from here for the first time today after coming across them on Facebook. I had the curry meal deal which was £7 for a curry, rice and a poppadom. I also added a can of coke and one of the biggest, soft naan breads ever for the grand total of £11.40. Not bad at all! I have to say the bonus of this place is that it's open all day so if you fancy a curry for lunch like I did, then you can!. The curry was very flavourful, my only comment would be that the chicken was dry. Like overly dry.... But your going to get that when it's not freshly made, but for the convenience I can completely forgive this and enjoyed it no less. I'd probably go for the lamb next time though. If it hadn't been lunch I'd of probably ordered some of their sides/starters too, as they looked great but I just wouldn't of been able to finish it all alone on a Saturday lunchtime 😂. I will definitely eat here when in town from now on!

I was visiting the UK for my first time and the staff here let me taste the butter chicken-like curry (authentic, no sugar added) before purchasing, and then I found I didn't have enough cash so they let me go away to get money to buy the entries I wanted (samosa etc). Altamente recomendado.

Stopped by here a few days ago for a quick lunch time snack. Selected the atomic pakoras as the ingredients were mostly vegetables and spices. Boy, do they live up to their name, they are very spicy indeed, but full of flavour. Served up with two chapattis and some pickle, a great little snack. The curries on that day looked mouth watering, but with an evening meal already planned they will have to wait another day.

I'm a massive fan of Indian food and working so close to St Nicks I often eat at the various stalls there. Looks are deceiving here as it always looks and smells great and tempts me back in time and time again but invariably i am left disappointed by what is a very average, bland curry with very greasy sides. It's also fairly pricey in comparison to other local places so I feel they need to up their game

One of the most delicious takeaways I've ever had. Called and asked for the roti and rice to be veganised, everything was beyond delicious. Had the pineapple curry which was sublime, the aubergine dish which I'd have tomorrow in a heartbeat, kottu roti which is always street food perfection, roti and dal. Oh and wholly unnecessary rice dish because the portions are huge! Can't wait to come back.
