We were looking for somewhere for a quick bite to eat and the window display caught our eye. Well laid out and inviting. There is a list covering the different cakes for each dietary condition. You can take away or eat in upstairs. We are upstairs and had a slice of black forest gateaux. This was delicious and full of cream. My husband had a cheese sandwich which came with coleslaw, salad and crisps. Both were well worth the money and we will visit again .thank you
Worst fishcake ever.
Tonight my husband ordered fishcake and chips twice. I have only ever had chips from this shop and they are generally good.
Tonight we didnt want the expense of fish and chips so settled on a fishcake instead.
I was surprised at the £16 cost to start with for 2 meals - never worth that. But the worst part was the fishcake which was a sloppy texture. There was a strong flavour of onion - other than that it was tasteless. The gloopy texture was unappetising so the dog ended up finishing them as neither of us could eat them.
A waste of money and so disappointing.

Myself and my partner had a lovely few days here, food was excellent, the staff are so friendly and always accommodating, the place was clean, tidy, modern, great spa facilities and a good location.
We arrived early with only one family seated. We were told all the tables in this room were booked but we could sit in back room. We were happy with that was served our dinner quickly. Then things went wrong after 20 mins waiting for the lady to come back as promised we decided to go home. The lady reacted badly told us she was busy with “walk ins” who incidentally were seated in the room she said was all booked. She was rather rude so we paid and left. Was it because my husband had smart shorts on or was it because we were tourists. Don’t know.
The food was good so it was a shame.
Lovely and quiet.
In the meantime we were waiting for the mains, the chef proposed a tasting of the lunch focaccia sandwiches, delicious!!!
The pizza was really crunchy and cheesy, and the Cannoli was freshly made.
I'll be back soon, especially to try the specials.
Thank you so much!
I am not one to ususlly write a review but credit where credits due, what a fabulous little pub. My daughter is GF and I googled GF pubs near Plymouth. I found this one and we decided to drive out to it. The staff were most welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. Believe me I am extremely fussy with food and I could not fault this meal. My compliments to the Chef.
We will most definitely be returning again very soon
