The New Inn in Cotswold

Great meals, more than enough to choose from. The servings were more than enough. Everything looked nice and fresh, very tasty.

My food was adequate but ordinary (scampi and chips) - my three friends had meat dishes which they enjoyed. The reason that I am bothering to write a review at all is that the service was exceptional - really pleasant, quick and in the end patient too!

I took my American friends on Saturday to the New Inn as I knew that they would love it - and they did! The bar staff are so friendly and there is such a great atmosphere! Thank you guys for making it such a wonderful evening!

The New Inn hotel is lovely. Stayed here for a long weekend with a group doing a motorbike tour of the Cotswolds. Perfect central location for visiting the area. Hotel staff were super and friendly and the food was really nice. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed I had was so comfy. The pub side is cosy and welcoming. Plenty of onsite and safe parking too. I'd definitely stay there again if visiting the area and would highly recommend it. Thanks to all at The New Inn hotel

Have really enjoyed the food on two former occasions. 3 couples, booked restaurant and 1st couple to arrive were asked to move to the bar as another diner was too anxious to eat in the bar. They obliged as initially they were told that our restaurant booking was a mistake, only to arrive at the bar table to find it was reserved for the anxious person. We ordered food, 4 out of 6 were great the other two were not. The bar was noisy and after trying to catch up with friends we hadn’t seen for a while, we gave up. Sorry, we will try again but none of us were impressed on that occasion.

Just visited the new inn, was told by the quite ignorant Michelle that the table I was sat as was reserved! No reserved sign on the table! Then proceeded to serve people coming for meals before myself. Is quite amusing I was the told I can have a drink at the bar! No thanks! I was going to book 4 days here but Michelle’s awful attitude changed my mind! Will not be returning avoid! The riverside is lovely not far and beautiful setting! Will be booking there. We stayed two nights and dined twice. Duck and Lamb. Quite simply they were the best meals I have eaten in a Restaraunt for 5 years. Superb.

Simon and the team went out of their way to accommodate my family celebrating our parents Golden Wedding Anniversary. From prebooking a table, ordering meals in advance and even helping us present a surprise cake, everything was seamless. Food delicious and hungry young children also well looked after, thank you! So happy to have such a wonderful 'local'

We had excellent meals on the two evenings that we stayed at the New Inn Hotel. The signature dish, Blade of Beef, was deliciously tender in a good sauce with interesting vegetables. The Specials board was inviting, and different each day. On the second evening we had Pork Fillet - again delicious, with a tasty sauce and a different variety of vegetables. The home made puddings were fine. The prices were very reasonable for high quality food in the current economic climate. We noted that traditional "pub grub" dishes were also on the menu (and they looked good).

The food exceeded expectations. It was well prepared and produced and served hot. Excellent choice and specials board meals were excellent. However the biggest plus was the excellent service provided by Michelle and team. Faultless. She is a real asset to the new inn

I had Fish and chips and the meal was so sumptuous 👌. I had wanted to order Salmon but changed my mind to have fish and chips instead. The service was top notch. Hospitality at its peak.

Das Essen ist exzellent. Wir waren neun Tage im Hotel und haben jeden Abend hier gegessen, weil es einfach so gut geschmeckt hat und so gemütlich war. Egal, was wir ausprobiert haben, alles war einfach fantastisch. Auch die Bar ist sehr gemütlich und einladend. Wir können es nur empfehlen.

We had supper while staying at the Inn. The service was exceptional - charming, thoughtful and efficient. Good traditional fare, too. Recommended!

We were staying at the New Inn for 3 nights, and after the first dinner being excellent we decided there wasn't any point in dining elsewhere. Everything looked and tasted home-made, the stand-out dish being a tender pork chop with peppercorn sauce. Once we'd had some delicious Marshfield Farm ice cream for dessert, we were hooked on the stuff.

Turned up without a reservation and was met and sat extremely quickly by a very helpful and cheerful staff member. Food was ace, as was the service..

Let’s start with the positive! The staff were welcoming, helpful & friendly. That’s the positive out of the way, and sadly the rest makes for uneasy reading. We should have realised what we were letting ourselves in for when we saw the reception! A cubby hole in side entrance, a worn out bristle mat and a scruffy desk. We were given the key to room 8, 2nd floor up a set of very tired thread worn stairs. This set the vibe for what was to come. On entering the room my heart sank as I looked around at the landscape, dreary yellowed walls, chipped furnishings that wouldn’t look out of place in a flea market, curtains that were filthy, worn out stained carpet, a divan bed base that was not fitted together properly. Windows that had not been cleaned for months! Everything just looked cheap, old and tired, shabby with zero chic. Then to add insult to injury we found a wet patch on the bed it had soaked through the duvet on to the sheet below! We complained to the management and they said they would sort it, and have it sorted by the time we returned from dinner. When we returned they had decided to move us to another room, and thankfully this room was much better, that we were actually happy to sleep there. Would we stay here again or recommend it? Definitely not.

Arrived. Service a little slow at first but once we got attention, the waitress was excellent. Started with Potato & leak soup with crispy bread.
