Excellent traditional tea room. Cake and a cuppa £5; great value, great cake! Prompt service, locally sourced ingredients. Takes some beating! Excellent value for money!

Jennie is a lovely owner and the gluten free scones were delicious. The clotted cream & strawberry jam went very well with it.

After shopping we stopped for “tea for two.” Quaint restaurant and best tea ever! A lovely experience!

If i could score no stars then i would. I attempted to use this premises for lunch with my family and dog. We entered and asked for a table for 6 and was greeted with a tut, huff and eye roll from the lady because (i assume) she would have to move a few chairs which she started to do with attitude. I then turned and left. The cafe also had a horrible smell and seemed a little dirty. I can recommend the cafe next to the talbot. They are very polite and friendly and it doesn’t smell either.

A lovely early lunch with our toddler. The owner was so helpful and very much understood the assignment 😊 Cheese sandwich cut into squares was served before we even got our coffee which was perfect so our toddler could slowly munch away at it. The scones, soup and full English were all delicious!

Wanted a light lunch when we stopped off at Stow, this was a delightful small restaurant luckily there was a spare table. Very friendly lady serving fabulous homemade soup and cheese scones. Clean well priced and good choices really glad we found it.

Nice little cafe, the welcome we received made us feel instantly at home and relaxed. It's no greasy spoon, but a small cafe serving simple yet delicious food at reasonable rates. We went in with our two excitable dogs who were making a din. Nothing fazed the owner who took the time to pet and fuss them before producing some dog treats which made them instantly fall in love with her. I would recommend the bubble and squeak. Simple yet delicious. I would definitely come here again.

A lovely tearooms/restaurant. We had a pot of tea for two and delicious savoury scones. The lady in charge was delightful, giving advice on local places to visit, park etc. The quality of the food and drink was splendid and the prices fair. We shall be visiting again!

Really good quality breakfast for a very good price. My wife said that the breakfast omelette was the best she'd ever had. Very friendly owner, and extra tea and toast provided. Definitely recommend.

Only popped in for a sandwich. The lovely lady behind the counter was very helpful and was more than happy to cook a couple of sausages as extras for our dogs. The sandwiches were very nice and the coffe excellent!

What a little gem this independent cafe is and just a short walk from the square, it is well worth a visit. Aside from the really tasty mushroom and cheese omlette, really friendly lady who owns it, it has the best prices for breakfast, snacks and cakes in the North Cotswolds. I have already recommended it to friends who live locally and will be a regular customer - can't believe I hadn't discovered it sooner!

Lovely place. The cakes are supertasty. The lady prepared our coffees and breakfast as we offer and we didn't have to wait 5min. We had breakfast there every morning. My favourite: the breakfast omelette.

A great little spot. Really great food, price range is very reasonable in a generally overpriced town. Jane was fantastic, took great care of us. Would highly recommend to anyone in stow wanting something local and offering great value. Top work guys.

This was the first reasonably priced place we ate at in the Cotswolds. And the food was great. The coffee was great too. If only every pretty village here had a decent price/quality option.

You would not realize that a small roadside cafe as such would pack so much goodness into their dishes. The menu has at best 5-6 mains but everything was freshly made and you can see they take so much pride in their cooking. Soup was delicious and so too were the toasties! Enjoyed a light lunch at this cosy cafe!

Cyclist friendly place with a friendly host. We got breakfast baps, burgers, teas and coffees which were all good. Other reviewers are right , its cash only, so remember whereabouts on the bike you stashed that "emergency" bank note.

Dog friendly, great fresh toasties, a good cappuccino and even better home made soup. Cash only - but that’s not the end of the world is it. Judge this place on its food - we were more than happy.

Ordered Welsh rarebit. Never seen one like that before. Mix of cheese and onion. Luke warm and stringy not been under a grill. Don't think it was toasted as all white. Coffee was OK.

Pleasant lady that runs the cafe , lovely porridge, quality coffee, nice eggs mushroom tomatoes cooked and reasonable cost but WARNING cash only which I didn’t realise on entering. I know this might not matter to people on holiday but I’m here on business and so that’s a problem with claiming expenses. I run a one man band self employed tour business and have accepted credit cards for 35 years.

Stumbled across this taking our kids, dogs and teenagers out to keep them occupied on a rainy day. Beautiful cream teas, let the dogs in and the teenagers!

It’s a very straightforward cafe, with a small but appealing menu and some daily specials. Unfortunately the soup had sold out - must have been good. She chose a sausage and egg bap which was freshly made with a nice runny egg. My Plowmans was generous and tasty. Slices of salad, a few crisps, some apple...nice touches. Reasonable prices. Cash only.

Stopped for a break on a very wet day. Home made tomato soup and a toastie. Just perfect. Lovely staff and service.

A light, airy coffee shop. With views on to the main street. Sit and eat whilst watching village life pass before you. Very nice English cooked breakfast, with newspaper to read. Service pleasant, but could have been a tad friendlier. But I just wolfed the food, which was attractively presented and very delicious.

All the other breakfast locations were closed, and this one didn't show up immediately on Google Maps. But we ran across it anyhow, and it was a great experience. Our hostess was prompt to our order, and very friendly. The food was fantastic. Definitely recommend!

well we arrived in stow how busy it was in the town , we found hacketts empty and i can quests why , we ordered tea and cakes and repeating the order 3 times no butter no jam but totally ignored as it arrived such a waste we got tea both cups and teapot were dirty with tea stains and stains i could wipe off so not good would not pop in again

Just been to this tea room on the way back from a few days in Bourton on the Water. Lovely place with great coffee and a lovely warm scone with butter. Great prices too. A bit off the main square but well worth searching for.

We were staying at Victoria House, Stow on the Wold, and had been looking in the main square for places to eat daily. Bang across the road was Hackett's, and we tried it on our last morning. Really nice breakfast, lovely and ample pot of tea for 2, pleasant surroundings and friendly staff and regulars. Only bad point is we didn't come across it until our final day!!

We visited for lunch on a freezing cold day - the soup was warm, fresh and welcoming and the cheese scone to accompany it made an interesting change from normal bread. The cheese and pickle sandwich was prepared to order using very good quality ingredients and came well presented with some crisps. The lady serving forgot to bring the coffee we ordered but she was very apologetic about it!

Parked outside as the lady was putting out her sign. Very friendly and excellent service for our delicious meals. My wife being gluten and lacto free is not easy but her breakfast was perfect, as mine and at very reasonable prices. A good café.

Been to the Cotswolds for many years and always said we would have a cream tea but until last week we had not tried one. When the tea arrived we were pleasantly surprised with home made scones and hand made jam with lots of clotted cream. Well worth the wait, can't wait till next year for another one. The lady who served us was very chatty and friendly.

We stopped for a light lunch while on a walk. The staff are really friendly the food was lovely and the coffee was excellent. We are in the area for a few days and are planning on a return for some cake which looks amazing.

Nice and tasty large breakfast for £8.50 consisting of two fried eggs, two sausages and two bacon with beans and toast. It was a bit off putting as the chef was watching us eating our food but she was very friendly.

This delightful cafe is a little off the main square but nevertheless does a great job. The fresh soup was wonderful and the service friendly and quick. We managed to park outside but it’s not too far from the main car park. It’s small, homely and good value. There are plenty of cafes offering more but I liked its quirky character. Just what an independent cafe should be.

Stopped for a coffee and scone. Free upgrade from buyer to clotted cream, excellent. Food and drink lovely. Could benefit from more heating, but if the climate in s place doesn't suit then walk out and find some where else.

Stopped here quickly while shopping around Stow on he wold and like most cafes in the area things tend to be a bit pricey but having said that what we ate was different and not normal cafe choice but it was very good and worth the money .I had sausages on sourdough with cheese and salad very tasty.

Called for a drink and scones.Staff unfriendly.Got drinks and almost finished them and asked were are the scones.Finaly they came and we're warm and Stodgy(I presume they were warmed in a microwave) would not recommend.Expected better for the money.

We were in the Cotswold on a tour, only had about 1 hour to explore Stow and have lunch. Most of the tour bus just popped in to the nearest pub, but my daughter and I asked a local, where she would eat. She pointed us to this cafe. What a delight it was!! Great, cheap food. Great service. And we enjoyed a chat with a neighborhood couple and their dog. Highly recommend!

We found this, walking by. First time, we ordered a takeout quiche. We came back another day for an eat-in lunch. Jane was a delight to banter with as we ate. She was toe cook, counter person, waitress and "bottle washer." The ploughman's platter was tasty and more than adequate.
