This is a very classy hotel which has been renovated/decorated to an extremely good standard. Booked a stay here for a special occasion and was not disappointed. Greeted by a very welcoming receptionist who couldn't do enough to help. Also the waitress (didn't catch her name, but had a european accent) was extremely attentive and was very positive/happy and gave great customer service. The room was immaculate and was decorated superbly (renovated super king room). The spa facilities were second to none. Offering everything you would expect from a hotel spa and more. The only slightly 'quirky' area in my mind is the brasserie eating area. Now we did book the dinner/bed and breakfast package so maybe this was the reason, but it seemed a little strange that in a 'higher class' establishment you ate your main evening meal in the bar area instead of a designated restaurant room? The room again was decorated highly, but would have perfectly suited a bar snug with leather sofas small tables and bookcases offering a relaxing drinking area - instead it had a dozen tables at which you sat to have your main meal!? You also chose from a menu more suited to 'gastro pub grub' not a high end hotel... There was nothing wrong with the food at all, just not what was expected. Also the restaurant front of house staff member with silver hair and tattoos could do with a few lessons in 'customer care' as we didn't feel this was a particularly special experience which I'm sure the hotel management would want us to feel. But overall I would completely recommend this hotel for special occasions/ romantic getaways and people looking for an adult only hotel.

Got in our room which had been so called cleaned well black hair all over the bed and bedding beat in mind I'm blonde ! The room has not been cleaned with all this hair! I'm shocked by this hotel! What a shambles for valentines! Worst service in a hotel if I'm honest at this price! Shocked

Lincombe Hall has been an absolute favourite for me and my partner for a few years now. Service is perfect, spa is perfect, Staff are amazing and room is perfect. One note to visitors, PLEASE , make sure you add your car registration too the reception desk tablet. If you don't you will receive a £100 fine from Civil Enforcement parking company who are TERRIBLE to deal with. You have no option but to pay the fine as they do not listen to appeal emails.

We've just returned from a wonderful one night spa break at Lincombe Hall, and can thoroughly recommend it. This was our second visit in the last 12 months, and this time to celebrate a special anniversary. The spa is probably one of the best we've visited in Devon - the lighting is perfect, and it is never too busy - everything is maintained to a high standard and offers a very tranquil setting. The rooms are excellent too. The food at the Brasserie is exceptionally good - beautifully presented and absolutely delicious - compliments to the Chef. A special mention and thanks to Leo and the Hotel's amazing team who are all so welcoming, where nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be returning, and hopefully soon!

What a gem this place is. Very attentive staff but do watch the service charges added to your bill when ordering a drink from the bar without a member of staff taking it to your table. The spa is very good but, not enough chairs or loungers for guests to use. I'd suggest a conservatory to the flat area beyond the pool be built to accommodate more guests as we saw several leave without using the spa. Also, when my wife booked the member of staff did not try to sell us a larger room as the one we was in was very snug like a third room in a 3 bed house. We'd have preferred a larger one with a little more room even if it cost more. Give us the option a calling please. Would we go back? Absolutely but a larger room next time.

I fear i’ve not enough room to say everything! just had a three night stay here over christmas and i have to say it’s one of my best christmas’s ever! from the room to the food. The staff were fantastic, so friendly. we left between us 6 children and 10 grandchildren to have a selfless mini break and we loved it! thankyou for making christmas so special. if i may just add.. a large real christmas tree would of been amazing in the hall lights a few wrapped box’s under the tree. maybe a little present in the room as it was christmas a few chocolates or something just to add that little extra touch

Deeply saddened and disappointed to be informed with less than 12 hrs notice that my mother and I can no longer have the treatments booked due to staff sickness. Very shocked that no compensation was offered aside from free use of the pool at a future visit. I was surprised that the lady felt it was entirely professional and appropriate to give such late notice with sickness when other places of work would if they were feeling rough the night before attempt to give a heads up at least one day prior. This leaves us with no time to book elsewhere. The lady said she could book us in tomorrow but with many jobs where we book annual leave we are required to provide 3 weeks notice to book a day off. So for someone who has in advance booked time off to spend time with their mother this is not feasible. I am deeply saddened by such last minute notice with no alternative treatment solution available for the day or compensation that can be received without having to attend to use the facilities at a later date. As for someone like myself who has had this experience happen already in the past, I am understandably now reluctant to book again for another day now knowing that this is the process you have in place for last minute cancellations; no other treatments available and no spare staff to accommodate less than 12 hrs notice cancellations. Please may you review this process, it’s very hurtful when you are excited to have a lovely day planned and the lack of notice allows you to come up with no other treatment solution elsewhere on the day.

Wintry night on the English Riviera but cosy welcoming stay at Lincombe Hall Hotel. Spa is good and the hotel has very friendly, efficient staff. Room we had was one of the refurbished ones, restful and had all you would expect. Good breakfast and the meal we had in the evening was generous and well cooked. Will definitely visit again.

For our anniversary went to spa for a few hours and a lunch. Staff made us feel very welcome, fantastic service. Loved the table service that you can order with your phone, lovely warm pool, sauna, steam room, etc. Felt not too crowded which is nice as some spas can get rather full for their size. Amazing lunch. Will be returning.

Our recent stay at Lincombe Hall Hotel & Spa was unfortunately overshadowed by a disappointing and awkward dining experience. We were handed a menu that displayed prices, but there was no clear explanation of whether our dinner was included in our package or how additional charges would apply. We had to ask our server, who confirmed that dinner was indeed included. After finishing our meal, we headed back to our room, thinking all was settled. However, shortly after, a staff member knocked on our door, stating that we had left without paying. This intrusion felt unnecessary and uncomfortable, particularly as they could have simply addressed it at checkout. Initially, the waiter informed us we owed £120 for the dinner. He then went back and checked with the manager and said that we owed £30 for a sauce and steak addition—something that could have been clarified in advance. After spending £450 for our stay, this experience felt rude and unprofessional. A hotel of this caliber should be able to handle minor charges discreetly, without making guests feel accused. Sadly, we left with a poor impression of the service. Not what we expected, and a shame given the reputation of the place. We certainly had a far better experience in July 2022 where the place, the service and the politeness of the staff left us astonished. But I'm sorry, after the last experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. 1 star.

I booked a weekend stay for me and my partner, including the breakfast. The room was very good; clean and tidy with a good size bath if you wanted to use it. My only complaint for the room is that the mattress was quite firm and I didn't find very comfortable to sleep. The friendliness of the staff was excellent and overall hospitality was great though I must explicitly commend the lady who was running the spa area. As we had not been before, we were not sure how everything operated at the Lincombe Hall. She showed us around and explained everything. Unfortunately breakfast was a bit of a let down when the service of our order had slipped; we had both ordered full cooked breakfasts but both had arrived with items missing and my partner complained that the bacon was very firm as if it had been sat under the hot plate for a long time. If this had happened elsewhere, I'm not sure I would be too bothered but when you pay a decent amount of money, I think it is fair to expect a certain level of quality and service. I was very disappointed after our stay to receive a notice of parking charge from the company that manages the car park despite obviously having given our car details to the receptionist upon arriving. When appealing this issue with the company in question, with evidence of our stay, they still declined the appeal and so we had to get the hotel involved to get it cancelled. This was a ridiculous process where we should not have received this parking charge in the first place. Overall the spa was great but I have been left with a very sour taste in my mouth regarding the breakfast and parking charge in that I'm not sure I would recommend the hotel to others.

Beautiful Hotel in a quiet location 10 min walk to the Marina. Professional and friendly service with great breakfast. Only downside was bed mattress was unusually, really firm for a hotel which was a bit uncomfortable. But didn't detract from lovely stay.

We have stayed on the hotel over the last 15 years and each time we return you can see that investment is put back in improvements and the facilities rather than in the pocket of the Directors. Service is special and one is treated as if you are the only guest there. Doggy care is first class and they cater for their every need. Bar prices are comparable with pub prices, breakfast is good and evening meals are adequate. Entertainment on bank holiday was superb and the staff exceeded expectations- well done team see you again soon!

We stayed for 5 days after seeing the recommendations about the hotel. Unfortunately we were told a couple of days before we were going that the restaurant was closed. So only the Brassiere menu was available. Unfortunately it had a very limited menu OK for a couple of nights but not for 5 nights. The head chef had left and No idea of if they are getting another.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. The room was very nice, just slightly let down by the arm chairs which were way to low to sit in comfortably. The breakfast was excellent and the spa facilities were very good, although treatments were too expensive.

We decided to stay close to home for a little night away, and we'd heard great things about the spa here. So, we picked Lincombe Hall, with the dinner, bed and breakfast in a junior suite. - The staff are warm and friendly and more than happy to be on hand for anything you need. - The room has been recently refurbished to a high standard, is very comfortable, air-conditioned, lovely bathroom with large shower and bath. - The spa is fantastic, and far better than some 5* spa hotels. My only observation was the potential for more indoor seating. There is Scandinavian Sauna, Himalayan Salt Sauna, Aromatherapy Sauna and an Ice Room. All brilliant. The changing rooms offer plenty of space with hairdryers and GHDs. - The food in the two rossette fine dining restaurant was brilliant. Fantastic food, great service. Such a shame that they're changing this in June. As a local, having discovered this, we would have definitely been back to dine. Lincombe Hall is beautifully decorated, lots of space and close the centre of town. Highly recommend and will be back. Thanks to all the team for making our stay, a great one.

I wont go into exact details, however we wont be returning. "general manager" is very rude and accused my partner of being a liar after she emailed a few issues about our stay. Now we have read all the other lower star reviews its apparent that this seems to be a ongoing trend of the manager / owners when anything is bought to their attention. However, the massages were very nice and the evening restaurant staff were very nice. Customer Service elsewhere was shocking and paper thin walls meant we could hear everything throughout our stay from other guests and hotel staff.

We were a party of 11 adults with 2 infants. Right from entering the restaurant we were warmly welcomed. The food was fresh and delicious. The young lady who looked after us was Lara, she was outstanding, very efficient but the most important thing to me was her friendly, cheerful, positive character. It really does make a difference to an evening out.

I would rate this the best takeaway we had in our life time. The old owners wasn’t to great but the new owners brought it back to life. There is so much flavour in the food and it’s a really good price. The staff are kind and nice. I would recommend this to all my friends and family.
