An unassuming little spot with great sea views. The portions are huge and they serve pub classics with a nice specials option too. Definitely a spot to check out after a long cliff side walk.

Absolutely loved our breakfast with a view! I had a full English which was delicious and my fiancé had scrambled eggs with salmon, which was great except for the eggs being a bit over cooked. Absolutely would come back!

We eat brunch and lunch here regularly when Bistro is open (March-October) and never disappointed. Lovely freshly good food and Lily's curries are excellent as are all her dishes. See you all next season xx

We had terrific food at the Bistro for dinner, lunch and afternoon tea. We'll worth a visit. Open when restaurants in Beer are closed.

As we were staying on site we decided to eat here.Reserved a table as known to get busy. Nice looking place, good interior. Pleasant staff, clean environment. Seated upstairs, felt squashed to the table with the chair literally at the top of the staircase. Varied menu which is average prices for area. Food was slow to be served. Chicken was nice but not as exciting i was expecting with the 'secret seasoning' The side salad was very nice and fresh: slaw was very nice also. Chips were somewhat of a let down. Maybe this is why they were hidden under the chicken?!. Ordered a dessert to share which nice but needed to be at £7.95!

Good quality food and coffee with a stunning view

Seven of us were here for lunch. From fish and chips, burger and chips, half cooked chicken and chips, quiche and salad all were excellent. Didn't have to wait long and food was piping hot. Fantastic views and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended. Would definitely return. Thank you!

Fabulous atmosphere, for talking to the oldest local in the village who shared wonderful history about the village. Excellent food. Chicken burger was a hit with the kids with the most wonderful spicy coating and homemade coleslaw which was divine. Excellent view of the bay if you choose to sit outside.

Great meal at the Bistro...would definitely recommend trying if you are staying at Beer Head Caravan Park !

First time my wife and I sat in to dine (had previously purchased take aways) our meals were excellent. Service was 1st class. Will definitely dine in again Peter and Laura B 😀

As others have said, very good food, friendly service & just a minute from the coast path , with great views. We decided to share a dish, & half the size was twice what you might get elsewhere!

Amazing food with a family friendly atmosphere. You might be tempted to dismiss this place as a caravan site cafe … you’d be all sorts of wrong to do so. Open to residents on the site and those just visiting, the casual setting and friendly accommodating, professional staff set a standard that restaurants in the town centre could only dream of emulating. The menu isn’t large but the four dishes my table had were presented superbly, the amounts were generous (to say the least) and utterly delicious. My advice? Go for the seafood, it’s simply, extraordinary.

We had looked around for somewhere reasonable to eat in Beer and stumbled across the Beer Head Bistro, an unlikely position in the middle of a caravan park but good views and excellent food. We have lunched three or four times and tried most of the fishy dishes, Prawns, Tacos and the Sharing Platter. They all came up fresh, delicious and hot. Prices reasonable, staff friendly and tame seagull under control.

We were delighted to find this friendly bistro on our first night in Beer, Devon. Sitting outside, we enjoyed the spaciousness and the beautiful views of the village and sea below. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and our meals were plentiful and delicious. Tips: It's a steep walk up to get there, but that added to the specialness, and the walk down was a breeze. However, some might prefer to drive. Also, they like you to be there before 7 pm, and you might wish to make a reservation as it's a popular restaurant, deservedly so.

Really good food and friendly staff

Father's Day celebration. The food was piping hot. The portions were generous, beautifully cooked and competitively priced. I chose the fish and chips which were done to perfection. The chips were golden, and the fish batter was light and crispy. Others chose sea bass, or the chicken burger and chips. All comments were complimentary. We sat outside and had an outstanding view of the coastline. The staff were all friendly and helpful, which made for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you.

A friend recommended the fish platter. It was excellent. Goujons, crayfish in a seafood sauce, calamari, and prawns. Really well presented and delicious.

Such a lovely place to go for a early morning cooked breakfast which is cooked perfectly and what views while you eat many other foods provided during the day too but full English breakfast is 10 out of 10

A five star rating doesn’t give this place the justice it deserves. The food is absolutely delicious, the nicest meal we have had in a long long time. The staff are incredibly polite and nothing is too much to ask. We are sad to be leaving the site tomorrow, we wished we had at least another night here purely for the food. Please don’t think twice about eating here, you will not be disappointed.

Disappointed with the lack of communication and having to wait 45 minutes for a cooked breakfast, it wasn't even that busy 😕 a progress update would of been good!

Following a recommendation from the owner of our B and B we decided to pay the Beer Head Bistro a visit for a quick bite after a day out with our two spaniels. This is a tucked away gem on a caravan sight and has beautiful sea views. We opted for the vegetarian quiche which was accompanied by delicious chips, coleslaw and salad and I’d definitely go for this again. The quiche didn’t have pastry which is a double bonus for me! Big shout out to the young man who served us, he was really welcoming, very polite and friendly, I didn’t catch his name but he said he hadn’t worked there very long.

Lovely food here but this has been spoilt by our recent visit. Went to place an order for a takeaway and we were told they were not doing them. Friday evening and you would think that was a given. We were informed they are that busy, they have to concentrate on the people in the restaurant. It would have been courteous to perhaps put a sign in the window. I must say, the main lady here really does need to improve her customer service skills, as was found to be very rude. We had planned our evening around this, so you can imagine our frustration. Some very disappointed customers, who had previously praised the place, but not now.

Absolutely incredible place. Beautiful vines growing up the front, with perfect views out to sea. Great selection of local drinks. I had the fish tacos, sooooo good! Cant recommend this place enough if you’re in Beer or Branscombe :)

The food and service is excellent.

Fantastic food all cooked fresh with a variety of food choices, the roasted half chicken was superb, drinks were reasonably priced. Sat in the middle of the caravan park with great views of the bay, well worth the walk up the hill.

Absolutely lovely place. The staff are friendly, food is delicious, coffee is great and the view is stunning if you sit outside. Very cosy little cafe. I recommend to try and come early so that you can relax without the crowd and enjoy your food.

Excellent Sunday roast, we just popped hoping to get a table on a rainy Sunday and they managed to squeezed us in.

A nice friendly place for a nice chilled drink, and a good choice of meals.

Friendly welcome, good service and delicious food. The pizza is excellent! Note the toilets are in an adjacent building 50m away down a bit of a hill, so be aware if someone has mobility issues.

Excellent food good service have visited twice this week for late lunch on Easter Sunday and evening meal. It is very busy especially at weekend. Always check first. But they will always try to fit you in if possible.

Have been several times, never disappointed. Great place to start/finish walks either down to town of Beer or across Hooken cliff (marvellous outlook) to Branscombe. Do it!

Superb. I was staying on the campsite that this place is located and had the pleasure of eating here after a long day of walking the coastal path. It was a Sunday evening so they were doing roasts and it was killer.....great potatoes, amazing array of veg and this was topped off with a lovely REALLY LOVELY ​slice of Biscoff Cheesecake....which apparently was made by one of the younger girls that worked in the bistro although I think I was told a little white lie, lol. 😜. Highly recommend this place. 5 out of 5

Had morning coffee up here in the café and views are really special. The evening meals are also excellent with large portions and wonderful choices, the chef and staff are excellent. Highly recommend this place!

Stayed on Beer head caravan park where the Bistro is lovely people food of very high standard they did there Bistro meals to takeaway as well which was great there Rotisserie chickens were amazing if you didn’t want to eat in at the Bistro first class

First time eating here. Staying on the site and it was a welcome change not to walk down (and up) the steep hill. Friendly service and tasty food in a relaxed atmosphere with great views.

Excellent place to eat, food is simple but well done, good range of beers and wines and the best view in Beer!

I had a lovely meal of lasagna and roulade, the former of which was very generous, the latter being just the right size to finish the meal. It was much appreciated after finishing my 5th day of walking. Highly recommend.

Beautiful food and drink. Local produce used where possible. Great atmosphere with a great view. Space can be limited at busy times though and it's a bit pricey for some people but worth it for a holiday treat. Pizza is a very popular takeaway here and certainly worth trying.

We ate here one evening while staying at Beer Head Caravan Park. We were served good food by charming staff. All in our party enjoyed the food very much, Special diets were well catered for, our friends gluten free meal looked so good we considered distracting him and eating it ourselves!

Arrived battered and brushed from hike and staff were very helpful and hospitable (and food and drink excellent) Just what we needed, thanks a lot to the manager in particular

Outstanding Fresh Steak & Ale Pie couldn't get any more local than the fields in view that the cattle grazed on

Just stayed at the Beer head head caravan park for the 1st time for a week and its a stunning place to stay. Also a special mention to the Beer Head Bistro and its staff. We ate at the Bistro a few times and the food was exceptional and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommend a visit even if your not staying at the park. Simon and Sarah and our dog Susie.

We had breakfast lunch and dinner at the bistro ( not all on the same day btw) The food and the service is excellent I recommend that everyone gives it a go and try the Pimms at £10 a jug it’s greeeeat!

Visited the Beer Head Bistro for an evening meal with my in laws in early September.The menu was limited, the food was poor, small portion sizes and greatly over priced, as were the drinks.It's a cafe on a caravan park, not a Bistro (although it does charge Bistro prices!)Don't bother visiting, there are plenty of nice places in Beer.

Thank you Ladies for a truly scrumptious breakfast, it set us up for the day. Freshly cooked full English cooked well with quality ingredients and a lovely homemade muesli. All Covid safe without missing good service.

We had drinks one day, returned for dinner and had breakfast the following day.The staff are lovely, especially the Australian lady owner.Our dog enjoyed it so much he ran off one day and visited by himself.Dinner was a huge shared plate of calamari followed by coq au vin and lasagne. Food is great value with nothing on the menu priced at more than £13.No draught beer but bottled Otter beers and others are available.Looks and feels more like a Greek taverna rather than a bistro.Recommended.

In my opinion best place in BeerToday the wife and I had a Sunday roast each.. minimum wait . Came on warm plates. Loads of meat we both had turkey. Lush vegetables. Lovely location sat outside with best view imaginable,You have to go a long way to beat it.Lauren and jo make perfect hosts to anyone new, old and just visiting
