Flipside in East Devon

Our favourite restaurant in Seaton which has now unfortunately shut down which is very sad. We loved all the food, especially the dirty fries which are epic. They had a great selection of beers including Elvis juice which is my favourites. Good luck to the owner ( chef ) and his Dad who does front of house in whatever the do in the future.

We decided to come to Flipside for the final time and enjoyed our meal every bit as much as the first time we came here. It’s such a shame that things have come to an end but thank you to everyone at Flipside for everything that you did over the years and the best of luck in everything you do in the future.

We’ve had takeaway from here countless times and have loved it every time. We’d heard the business is soon closing down, so last night we booked a table to dine inside for the first time, and were very happy we did so. The food was delicious as always, and our 17 month old enjoyed his little burger! The owner was very friendly, and we wanted to say thank you again for providing this little joy to Seaton for the last few years. We wish you all the luck on your future endeavours

Our last visit to Flipside under its current ownership. Have been there many times over the years, and it's always been excellent, great value for money, excellent quality, and great service from Scott. We can only wish them all the best in their new ventures, whatever they may be. If the new owners are going to run it as a burger restaurant, be warned you have a lot to live up to!

We had an early doors booking which suited us . Good fresh food, good selection of beers. Good service. Do book ahead as they are busy.

Best burgers I'd had in ages! I had the halloumi burger and it was very tasty. I was dining with 5 other people and all of them were also extremely happy with their food. Fries also very good. Welcoming and efficient service.

We stayed in Seaton at the Premier Inn and arrived too late to eat in the restaurant. We now think that was meant to be as we called Flipside and they had a table left we booked on the spot. Less than 2minute walk from the hotel we found the restaurant the other side of the road and was immediately welcomed and the restaurant was decorated brilliantly! Menu was simple and food was quick and delicious! Meat was all from local butchers and not frozen processed products. We had a really lovely meal thank you so much.

Needed a respite from the pubs serving food in the area. Great value, great choices. A few minor quibbles- patties were over-cooked and my request for an extra topping on a special was declined. No parking unless you use the Tesco lot. Best chips I’ve had in ages. Recommended. They would kill it in a better location.

I always order a takeout and I have always been happy with my experience. Service is great and the food is amazing.

This is one of the best places to eat in Seaton, great value for money and the service was right on the money.

Popped in to Seaton mid Friday night, hungry. We were happy to stumble on this restaurant. Great staff, really friendly, managed to fit us in as we hadn't booked. Great aesthetic to the restaurant and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this place - and we'll be sure to try out more of the menu when we are back. 10 out of 10.

This was quite possibly the best burger I’ve ever had. Very generous portions and great value. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. Sadly we are not local or otherwise we would be regulars!!

Visited this evening with my husband and so glad this place was recommended to us it was excellent. My husband ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and I had the classic and we shared a side of garlic bread. Best burgers we have .ever had that we didn't make ourselves. Portions were big. must say when we walked by we were surprised at how busy it was. The chap that served us was friendly, attentive and not crowding us while we ate which made our food more enjoyable. Everything was pipping hot and definately freshly cooked. Would highly recommend Flipside!!

I stopped in on a Friday evening whilst visiting Seaton and I was lucky enough that the owner could fit me in before a booking later that evening. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with tomatos and lettuce. The burger was tasty, with good quality meat and bacon, and was excellent value for the money I paid. Chips don't come with the meal but there a range of options available and a good range of beers and ciders available.

Oh yes! Well cooked and presented and seasoned burgers. We both loved our choices. And the price is very fair for the quality of the food. Nice selection of beers too.

Amazing food. Each of us had a different burger and all were out of this world. Portion size is large and all freshly cooked to order and home made. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Shame we found it on our last day of the holiday.

I am from the USA and of all the great burgers I have had in this country..FLIPSIDE’s genuinely made me think of home in the Midwest (Missouri). The American decor makes this an easy calm place to eat a great burger. They also have a generous selection of Beer and Wine to complement any Burger pairing.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere, great service and food, and the special curried goat burger went down a treat!!

The food here is fantastic and reasonably priced. We both had burgers which were magnificent. If, like me, you think that the recent fad of brioche buns is an abomination then ask for the soft and velvety vegan bun instead. The vegan bun (IMO) is not sweet like the brioche and more akin to an old school burger bun, these pair far better to the burgers on offer. Flipside also offer very creative specials on the menu. These looked great but we wanted to try the burgers first. I had farmyard burger and wife had blue cheese, both amazing. They also have a great selection of bottled ales, draft lager and house wines of good quality. Go there and enjoy!

My family stayed at the premier inn across the road in December and went here for dinner. I forgot to leave a review sooner. It was one of the best burgers I have ever had and the service was terrific, welcoming and friendly and warm. Would love to visit again. Thank you.

Exceptional as always! We fancied a burger this evening, and flipside is always our go to. Although I've tried most of the burgers I can never move away from a chilli cheese burger, it never disappoints and today was no exception! Scott took time to chat to my 6 year old and was patient when he ordered his own food and drink. Highly recommended this place.

Great food great music playing (well we enjoyed the rock tracks from the 60's to the 00's). We booked as the Thyme Restaurant in the nearby Premier was closed and frankly we were all pleased it was as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Flipside. Good choice of beers and lagers to choose from. And the gentleman taking orders and serving was a good laugh and very friendly. We will be back and will definitely be ordering a takeaway. My wife's and my friends favourite discovery were the Frickles (deep-fried gherkin served with blue cheese). Highly Recommend !!!

Excellent food and great people

Great tasty burgers with good vegetarian choices as well and very well organised restaurant. Definitely need to book but also book takeaways as the kitchen is very small.

We stopped off at Seaton on the way down to Cornwall and we stayed at the premier inn opposite this restaurant so thought we would give it a go. We were told there was going to be a wait for our food but that we could take a seat and order drinks. The waiter managed to get us in early with our food orders which was really kind, so very pleased with the service. The burgers were okay, we really wanted to love them but they weren’t that full of flavour. However, the frickles (fried pickles with blue cheese) were out of this world!

We stumbled on this place last year while holidaying around the area and had the most amazing burgers. We’ve never forgotten it, so we visited again this year. Eating out can be a challenge for us as a family, especially for burgers (which he loves!), because my son is allergic to eggs and peanuts and what with most places now only using brioche buns. However, Flipside very kindly and helpfully accommodated us, talking us through the options, what to avoid and amazingly, they were able to do a burger for him with a vegan bun. The burgers are absolutely delicious, generously portioned with toppings/extras and made from 100% beef. There are other delicious options if beef is not your thing, including a vegan option. I can’t express how grateful I am that Flipside welcomed us despite the allergies and so very helpful. We had chilli cheese burgers, bacon and cheese burgers, loaded fries, mozzarella sticks and onion rings. The food is simply fantastic, as is the service and range of beers, but don’t take my word for it, please pay them a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

Clearly advertised as eat in or ‘to go’. Arrived expecting to be able to takeaway only to be told no takeaways available until 7.30 as they were ‘too busy’. Very disappointing. Please advertise your services more honestly.

Brilliant burger joint. I have had a few Burgers in my time and this was one of the best. Fell on this place as travelling with business and the promise of burgers and craft beer drew me in. Anytime I m in Seaton I will eat here. Great food, beer and service.

An excellent place to spend an evening. The beer was good and the burgers outstanding, all prepared in-house from produce purchased at the local butchers who sources locally. Definitely one to visit.

We’ve driven past Flipside many times during the day but we happened to be in Seaton one evening so decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Delicious burgers, quick and friendly service, nice clean restaurant and good prices too. Nothing bad to say about this place at all. Totally recommend and we will be back.

American style diner with a great selection of beers. The waiter was kind enough to accommodate us 30 minutes before our booking. Generally the atmosphere was fantastic and the food tasted great with everyone enjoying the nachos, halloumi burger and chicken burger. However there were a couple of major mistakes which detracted from the good experience. One of these was when the waiter handed me the chicken burger instead of the halloumi burger by mistake (I am vegetarian due to religious reasons so wasn’t happy when I took a bite). Initially the waiter did not acknowledge the mistake and even charged us for the extra burger the kitchen had to make. Another error was when I ordered cheesy garlic bread and it arrived plain instead.

The food is consistently excellent. We always go when we are in Seaton, Flipside is good value. Recently they have started to do a cheesecake dessert which are equally as delicious as the burgers. They also do gluten free burger buns.

This looks place serves great food at reasonable prices and is full of locals who have the foresight to book. If you’re in town and looking for a decent burger, this is it. Genuinely one of the best burgers I’ve had. The farmhouse, which contains a burger patty, a fried chicken steak and a pile of pulled pork is just sensational. Pop your head in and they might be able to fit you in. But if not… book for tomorrow night. It’s worth it.

This was our second visit to Flipside. I expect will we visit every time we visit Seaton. The burgers are excellent and the staff are lovely and friendly. I highly recommend Flipside.

Great family run restaurant, friendly staff, fanatic quality food, large portions at really affordable prices. They have a great drink selection and they play good music. Highly recommended, book if you want to guarantee a table.

Only live in Lyme so this is sort of local. Thought we would support some businesses in Seaton as well. The Burger was ok, same price inside as was for the takeaway which was a pleasant surprise as usually more expensive. Nice selection of drinks and price for food wasn't too bad but it doesn't come with anything not even a side salad just a sorry looking burger on a plate, looks quite sad and depressing, although you can order and pay for sides of you wish. Wouldn't say it was a warm welcome in fact quite cold and clinical when being served. All in all an ok dinner but could do better especially in service.

You won’t find a better burger or ribs. Melt in the mouth meat and great service. Genuinely blown away by the quality of the food. Will be back for sure!

A proper burger place with amazing food and a good selection of local beers. The burgers were delicious and great quality meat. A selection of 'theme' burgers of which the Pizza burger was amazing and also create your own so you can have it just the way you like it. Dirty fries were immense... I couldn't fault the place! Will be back. Make sure you book as he's is always booked out.

flipside is a small restaurant specialising in burgers and hotdogs etc. but we opted for full racks of ribs which were very, very good indeed. desert was home made white chocolate and raspberry cheese cake and I doubt if I've ever had a better cheesecake....

FlipSide when staying a night at the Premier Inn opposite. They opened at 5:30 and we got there for around 5:45/5:50. We saw another family in there, and the majority of tables reserved. But seeing we were relatively early we managed to get a table for us 4. There are about 8 tables in there, so would suggest booking, but they also offer takeaway. We sat down and had a look at the menu. A few minutes later, the lovely man who was doing front of house solely by himself came to take our drink orders and then our food. Food came out within 20/25 minutes. It is the BEST burger you will ever have, this restaurant definitely lives up to the #1 Seaton restaurant. We have 4 burgers (one a kid meal) drinks for all 4 and ice cream for my sister and I and it still came to under £50 - AMAZING value. And it’s even better knowing everything is locally sourced AND that it’s a family run business. I couldn’t fault a thing. Absolutely amazing and smashing service and great value. Will be coming back again and I would recommend do everyone.

I’ve been here a few times and eaten in and they serve excellent veggie burgers. The selection of bottled beers is fantastic too.

The four of us all had different burgers, plus some fries and a couple of sides. Everything was good, some was excellent; not necessarily the 'best burgers we ever had', but pretty good all the same. And not expensive, either. Recommended!

This little place packs a punch. Scrummy burgers and ribs at a very reasonable cost. Meat from local butcher. Delicious soft tender ribs with a tasty sauce. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Lots of empty tables and turned away. Only 2 tables were being dined at. Didn't want to know when asked why and was told it was something to do with their kitchen size and people got tables reserved in about 50 mins time? Go figure.... 🤔

Absolutely love Flipside! The burgers are amazing, each meal is individually prepared (even takeaways) with the emphasis on quality and great customer service. It doesn’t get better than this. Cool place, great atmosphere, unbeatable playlist playing (needs some October Drift on it though!) and absolutely fine fine burgers The loaded fries with slow pulled pork burgers are next level brilliant, and the burgers are right up there with the best but served in Seaton in an unassuming little vibey joint. The bacon on the burgers is supernatural. I don’t know how it’s cooked or what the chef does by my word it tastes good. Sound people.
