What an absolute gem in Newquay! Highly recommend the cream tea. The scones are so light and tasty! The portion sizes are really generous! and the jam. WOW! It’s so tasty and delicious! They are dog friendly in the restaurant and the staff were attentive and friendly, definitely have to say the best scones & Jam around!

Food looked amazing in the window and the selection was amazing ….but one member of staff had no manners, stroppy and rude to my family members. Apart from the one with attitude the other lady was kind and polite . I heard you mutter under your breath by the way :)

This was recommended to me by my sister who raved about this bakery. I was really surprised by how good the afternoon tea was. The scones are the best I’ve ever had. I’m used to scones being a bit dry but these are so soft I couldn’t believe it! We definitely bought a lot to take home.

We popped in as my friend really loves coming here and enjoys the cakes. We chose to sit in, the interior is dated but seemed popular as it was quite busy in there. The staff were all really friendly and helpful (as were the other customers who gifted us some free cakes!). The sandwiches were made fresh and were quite cheap, good for families too. Would definitely recommend checking it out.

Visiting Cornwall we wanted to try out traditional cream tea. We saw on a sign outside that they sold cream tea so went upstairs to the tearooms. I ordered 2 cream teas expecting 2 scones for myself and my daughter and four Scones were brought out to us.Twice the price but It was absolutely delicious though. Just be careful if you are ordering this.

As a family we have been coming to Newquay on holiday for a couple of generations now. Lots of things have changed over the years, some for the better and some perhaps not, but the lovely thing about Pauline's is that it has not changed over the years even when it moved premises some years back. The food is always fresh, plentiful, well-presented and good value and the staff so friendly and helpful despite being rushed off their feet, it's always a very laid-back atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. It's always very clean, and Covid measures are well implemented for those who are worried about it. When we visited on the afternoon of Weds 2nd June we were served by two male members of staff (sorry, didn't think to make a note of their names) who were just lovely (one had a non-English accent if that aids the description!) Rest assured, we did leave a well-deserved tip. As a footnote I'd like to add that the cakes and sundaes are particularly amazing, and we always comment how impressive it is that they use proper fresh cream rather than that awful squirty stuff....for me, that's the mark of a quality establishment! Thank you Paulines, please don't ever change!

An interestingly named establishment - we were initially attracted by the lovely looking cakes in the window and decided upon impulse to head upstairs for lunch - the interior is mainly old fashioned dark wood booths but do NOT let this put you off!The service is fantastic and by this I mean that the lady serving us was chatty, friendly and efficient - not one mistake despite us ordering a smorgasbord of dishes. The food is quite the finest 'un-fancy' lunch that I have ever eaten and we will definitely return the next time we are in the area - sadly we live almost 300 miles away and that will not for a while.

The sandwichs are delicious and the variety of cake slices to go with it is hard to decide from as they all look amazing! We tried the majority of the cream cakes between us over the 2 weeks - each one was delicious! We bought a fudge cake and it was only £1 to add personalisation and this was a great gift (pic attached). Was only the small cake size but we had so many portions out of it! The bottom had a sandwich I chose prawn they were delicious and very meaty it came with a side salad and a few crisps. Second was the best scone I have ever tasted it was so light with their homemade jam and roddas clotted cream. Lastly the top tier had a plate of 3 cakes a Malteser slice, a fudge brownie and a meringue with cream. I am going back to get a pack of scones with cream and a tub of homemade jam to take back home with me from their shop. Came here 5 years ago and intentionally sought this place out again. Pasties are excellent, great filling, well seasoned and of a generous size. The sandwiches again are very generous. However what makes this establishment so outstanding is the staff. My 3 year old was unwell in a very visceral way whilst we were having our meal, yet we weren’t made to feel awkward or embarrassed even once. Staff were very attentive and despite the popularity of the place we didn't feel rushed to give up our table. We chose to have a cream tea and it was delicious. Love that the menu states you can have extra jam, cream and tea as this is usually an extra in places nearer home! I'm not a fan of fruit scones either but didn't mention this and we had plain scones so this was a nice bonus for me! Would recommend visiting as it has a lovely atmosphere and quality and price of food is excellent. We didn't realise until we had already eaten that they serve an afternoon tea for 2 for £12! Discovered this gem whilst on holiday with my partner, what makes it stand out from others is the level of service you receive, with a lovely atmosphere you are truly made to feel welcomed with a family feel.

We were made extremely welcome at Pauline’s Creamery today. Our dog was given a bowl of water as soon as we sat down. Our waitress was very friendly and chatty and when someone else came in with two dogs, she asked If our dog was ok with others. We said she was somewhat timid, so the others were seated away from us which meant we could continue our lunch without having to worry. Our lunch and coffees were really good and we can recommend this tea room without hesitation.

The staff were great, and so was the food. However, in todays world, why was 90% of what they sol wrapped in cling film, sold in plastic containers,or even polystyrene containers. Pauline's Creamy needs to look at it's lack of Eco packaging. I brought a very tasty pastie from there but after seeing the amount of plastic in which the majority of the food was wrapped in......I never went back nor did my family.

Arrived in February out of season so we was seated immediately. Young lady took our order for afternoon tea which arrived soon after ordering. All in all the quality of food was fresh and good. The actual tea? One tea bag for a big tea pot was far far too weak. The salad on the afternoon tea is odd? lettuce & sweetcorn? Strange.

The most unctuous, gooey, gorgeous chocolate fudge cake I've EVER eaten. A taste sensation from the first mouthful to last - divine! Thank you Pauline's for bringing true joy into my life.

We were looking for a cup of tea and stumbled upon Pauline's. It's nice that the cafe is upstairs because 1. You rise above the busy street level and upstairs feels relaxed, and 2. To go upstairs you have to pass the most amazing display of cakes. Upstairs the service was quick and very attentive. Tea came in a oot with extra water and more water was offered later. The missus had a tea-cake which was just right and I had a bowl of hot, crisp chips. Some of the best I've ever tasted. Just after ordering them I heard them sizzling in the pan in the nearby kitchen.

Its a shame they cant stay open all year, but business in Newquay is far too quiet in the winter months. Their fresh cakes are amazing and everyone should try them.

Hubby and I had the £10 cream tea each - what a feast! Shocked when the cake stand arrived as we could have had one between us.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Haven't stayed, but excellent range of well-kept cask ales including normally a couple from Penzance Brewing Co in Crowlas, near Penzance.

What a gem! We had no idea where to go for lunch but chose the shed; a great choice! The steak was so good and the sole cooked to perfection. Great wine, appetisers and dessert to boot. Fantastic value and the service was great Thank you so much.
