Having been here for dinner we thought we'd also try breakfast and it was excellent, great produce, great service, good price. Nothing more to be said really.

We visited for the first time and shared the Herd Mac and the Chicken Burger, they were both incredible. This place is amazing and really worth a visit if your visiting newquay.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Queen’s Head in St Stephen, Cornwall, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was. The roast dinner was an absolute standout—perfectly cooked meat, tender and flavorful, paired with golden, crispy roast potatoes that were some of the best I’ve ever had. The homemade Yorkshire puddings were a delight, light and fluffy, and the generous helping of rich gravy tied it all together beautifully. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the food here, making it a proper Sunday treat.
The atmosphere in the pub is just as impressive. It’s a charming, cozy spot with a warm, welcoming vibe—think crackling woodburners, friendly chatter from locals, and that quintessential Cornish village charm. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you’re a regular or just passing through. The beer garden and play area out back are lovely touches too, perfect for a sunny day.
The staff truly elevate the whole experience. They’re incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and made to feel like valued guests. Service was spot-on—quick without feeling rushed—and they were happy to chat and offer recommendations.
All in all, The Queen’s Head is a gem. The roast dinner alone is worth the visit, but the fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff make it a place I’ll be eager to return to. Highly recommend!

A little gem of a pub. Very chilled. Bar staff very helpful in the wide choice of beers. Perfect if your looking for a real ale pub in Weston super Mare.
Excellent place! We were on holiday in Devon and we wanted to do a more special picnic, so we found this place and what a surprise! Amazing sandwiches, super good fillings, good quality ingredients, freshly made, and delicious cakes all at a very good price. We would definitely be back.
I regularly walk the dog on Painswick beacon and have been trying to find a coffee stop nearby. Came across the Painswick Pooch and it has become a Sunday ritual of mine, the perfect place for a rest and coffee. Cakes are to die for and the staff are lovely and so welcoming. Not to mention Jasmine has treats even time we come, safe to say we will now be regulars!

Proper pub tucked away in a peaceful spot; freehouse, good beer and service, all 4 of us happy with our meals, love the slightly eclectic artwork. Few picnic benches by the stream outside for sunny days
A great incentive to walk to the end of the Camel trail or to start your journey. Delicious scones and good coffee. Interesting to see how it has eco friendly features - solar panels and earth closets - not as bad as you think!
Friendly staff and good service.
Front of the promenade very reasonable and excellent food service spotless inside and attention to detail amazing please support a super local business
Wow, just wow!
Had THE most delicious vegan sausage roll with a superb homemade chutney (runner beans, who knew?) and a generous bowl of light and flavour-packed coleslaw-like salad. Really could not have been nicer.
Even though I was full after that lot, I couldn’t resist the cake. Oh my. The courgette and lime cake may be the most sublime cake I have ever tasted.
Awesome coffee too and friendly service with a smile.
Stumbled on this place by accident so didn’t know its reputation in advance but this made my day, both the visit here and the five-hour walk up on Dartmoor that it fuelled!
