Served by the most miserable barman and told that they only accepted card which is ridiculous when cash is legal tender. We sat outside and ended up leaving the drinks we had ordered as they were awful.We won’t be returning!!

A small bar bang in the centre of town offering 6 handpumped ales as well as keg craft ales and a fridge of unusual canned beers. This oasis in a desert of Palmers shoite ale has been lubricating the throats of the discerning drinkers in Bridport for 6 years. Recently changed hands but new owner just as attentive as the outgoing lad! Example of bliss? Sat out on a Friday, sunny evening, watching the envious people sat in their cars at the lights as you drain your third pint.

Love this place so lucky to have on our doorstep! Great selection of beers and ciders, wine too! Always something new to try.

Absolutely awesome. Service was fantastic as soon as we walked in the door, warm and engaging. Beer, ale and wine was fantastic with a really good range and wealth of knowledge. Cannot wait to come back!

Damaging as this rating is and making this rating with a heavy heart as I do; it’s not exactly a proper pub. Too many hipsters and too many people I can’t be bothered to have a conversation with out of not being rude the place has no character. I could polish my boots by merely rubbing my shoe against the wall - something they’d happily kick you out for which you just wouldn’t get in a classic pub. Nice selection of ales sure but not an authentic place in which to drink them in. Rub the paint off, install a blood stain in the ceiling and a horrible smelling carpet on the floor to create a real pub feeling. I wish this pub and the owners all the best.

What a superb micropub. Full of locals and visitors, very vibrant. Fair choice of beers all well kept. If in Bridport don't bother with anywhere else!

My brother, who lives in Bridport, introduced me to this establishment. If you like a decent beer, and seeking some variety, then this is the place for you. Sit in or out, enjoy a libation, and watch the world go by. Great.

Such a unique place, not into craft beer which is their trademark but tho small, happy to sit inside with a lovely glass of prosecco talking to Comet the beautiful friendly dog no wonder it's so busy in Summer, lovely vibe!

This is a delightful micro pub with a great selection of cask and keg beers. There isn’t a huge amount of seating but that almost misses the point, as it is a friendly, lively, social place for people to enjoy beer and good times.

Good choice of well kept cask/keg ales at good prices. Place is small and only takes card payments. It is worth a visit if you are in the area. The owner is very receptive to hearing about different brewers.

This is a great bar. Relaxed, friendly (dog friendly too) with an ever changing choice of good beers from around the UK and beyond. Cider, gin and wines too. Outdoor seating also available.

We called into The Pursuit of Hoppiness this afternoon. It was a fantastic experience. We were greeted and served by Val the Barman he made us very welcome and comfortable. His knowledge of the selection of Ales on offer was excellent. Although very hot and humid on observation he treated every customer with the same welcome and service. He is a real asset to the business. Will definitely return when we're back Bridport. 10 out of 10 for and excellent experience👌

What a great little place, very large selection of beers and wines. There is limited space inside but they make great use of what they have, there is ample space outside. I tried the sours and a few pales, loved them all. The staff are really nice and the locals are too. Get it on your to do list👌

While the range of beer is amazing, I’m afraid the offhand nature of the guy behind the bar left us feeling cold. We’re lucky to have some great independent beer shops where we live so were looking forward to learning more from this obviously popular place in Bridport and having a good natter with a fellow beer lover. Sadly, the guy behind the bar couldn’t have been less welcoming. We shan’t return. A massive shame.

Great convivial bar, good range of ales regularly rotated, nice south-facing aspect with outside seating, right in middle of town. FYI...don't take cash, don't take Amex.

Wide variety of interesting and tasty brews. Had an excellent drink for a reasonable price. A great warm atmosphere, though the small seating area means things can get a little crowded.

This is a classic micro pub. Great ales. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Cosy interior. Chatty locals. Loads of tables outdoors. Pork pies. What else do you want??

Great beer and it was nice to have a table outside to watch the world go by. And one particular Volvo that just kept coming past us. We saw it at least six times! But the beer was very good, did I say that before?

Always great beers. Will say it would be great if they could move to a place with a courtyard. The road is abit much. And the inside was v hot on the day we went.

We've been popping into this pub everytime we've been camping in Eype & have always had a pleasant drink/experience..but not today...maybe I'm not groovy or millennial enough.. but got welcomed ,sat ,then ignored and after futilely trying to catch the attention of the hipster to engrossed in his phone to attend to our needs we decided to leave.. When he decided to look up with a cheery wave and a see you later guys.. Doubt that very much a shame really as I like and try to use micropubs as much as possible but It must be an age thing ..so if you haven't got a waxed moustache or a funky hat you're invisible..

What a find?! I called in for a quick pint of cask ale at lunchtime with my wife. Ended up "sampling" 3 pints each and staying rather longer. The 6-mile walk home seemed far easier than the 6 mile walk there! They stock an excellent range of ales from small brewers around the country, changing regularly. Made a welcome change from Palmers, the local brewery's beers. Great cask ales, great service, very pleasant staff. Will definitely visit again.

If you like your hops by the keg or the cask, this is the place for you!

Nice to see somewhere that specialises in bee, and has a selection of some unusual lines. Even better, given that many other places tend to have a lot of beer from one same brewery. Would visit again.

A small pub, lots of choice, friendly bartender, but due to covid not a lot of inside seating, so bring a jacket as you may have to sit on one of the many outside tables!

Fantastic bar, superb eclectic range of beers for all tastes. Great team behind the bar working really hard to keep things covid secure but still buzzing. Book a table it gets busy.

Been opened 3 years now and has gone from strength to strength. Beers (6) change daily and there are 4 local ciders. Bar staff very friendly. Has been in CAMRA Good Beer Guide for past two years, Fridge always worth a look as there are the odd strong beers tucked away. These can be pricey though!

The Pursuit of Hoppiness is a fantastic venue where so much thought and effort goes into choosing the beers, IPA’s, Ales and wines available. The owners love of the products shines through! The fridge of dreams is also fantastic and I cannot recommend highly enough.

What a nice bar with some great real ales and reasonably price too. Friendly staff ans a good atmosphere. Sunday night there is live music, not been so can't coment but if you like good beer then why not give it a go 😊

Unexpected pleasure on an overnight in Bridport.

Best beer I've had in ages. The guy pulling pints knew his beer and guided me perfectly to the hoppy American pale ale style beer I love.

This was a real find. Decided to have a look around Bridport (which is a very nice town). and came across this bar. Had one of the Thornbridge ales and also one from a brewery called Tiny Rebel. Both were excellent and a real change from the run of the mill beers so readily available these days. Real beer, keep up the good work..!!!
